Awaken to the Age of Aquarius…okay, so it’s just a month

The Keystone XL Pipeline was rejected which is good for so many reasons. We wouldn’t have gotten the gasoline anyway, which was to have been refined in Houston and shipped to foreign countries at a profit while polluting locally with more toxic emissions because tar sands are a sludge requiring more layers of processing. So many lies and exaggerations have been made about this project that investigating the claims will take another year, at least, and by then, the true environmental impact can be assessed. Money is better invested in green energy technologies but the coal, oil and gas lobby is strong and has purchased many members of congress, whom we should call grease-balls. The corruption on this project is staggering, beginning with the Speaker of the House, who was heavily invested in several companies involved in the proposed deal. He’ll be hitting the bottle rather hard lately and be seen drunker than normal around the halls of congress and in the streets and gutters of Washington. Astrology tells of his alcoholism by way of the Moon/Neptune conjunction to the Libra S Node, all of which he would deny having.
SOPA and PIPA also go down in flames, as they should. Censorship of the inter-webs violates the free speech we are known for and was a power grab by corporate criminals wanting to control more. It was rather humorous to hear congressmen call for nerds to help them figure out what exactly is in the anti-piracy legislation, which was obviously written for them by lobbyists. These special interests writing legislation contributes to what has gone wrong with our government. It has gotten away from the people and fallen into the hands of the powerful international corporate super powers that care nothing about national interest, just their bottom line. Politicians have been bought since the dawn of politics, as those who wish to have things done their way usually have the money and backing to affect policy. Money talks and yet the people united from all political persuasions seemed to stand against the suppression of their right to view material under protection of copyright. There’s way more to it and to understand it you need to be an attorney specializing in intellectual property law. File sharing of music got Napster shut down years ago, which should have established some sort of precedent instead of Big Brother determining what to black out or shut down. Rules of the road have been made and broken many times in the life of the Internet but it when it stacks up against the whole freedom thing, you have to let freedom ring. Censorship is the denial of our First Amendment Right to free speech but it is the congress that was bought, like a prime time commercial, it was going to get whisked right on through…until the people spoke up and out against it and revealed it for what it was; censorship. Not in my freedom-loving, flag-waving, apple pie-making, hot dog-eating United States of America! Actually, I just the freedom loving American, as the flags are made in China and the pie and dogs aren’t great for staying in shape. But America is a Cancer nation and people love to eat. Electronic devices, increased caloric intake and decreased physical activity have added up to a huge obesity problem. Of course, sitting at the computer doesn’t help so I’ll sign off now.
