I hope this Thanksgiving, you had some special time to talk with those you love and care about, even if it was by phone to a distant part of the world or country. Sag is the sign of long distance travel and phone calls, as well. It rules law, government, philosophy, preaching, teaching, especially higher levels of learning and by experience and seeking. It is a robust sign of enthusiasm and a sense of adventure, and will go far and wide to do things that others don’t even think about. It is this expansiveness that offers such amazing opportunities, as they are ready to take a risk that others fail to consider. It is the sign of freedom and wide-open spaces, where one refuses to be fenced in and has to be free to roam about, like the gypsy they may have been in a past life. Consider the mustard seed. It is so small but can produce an abundance of seeds from just a single plant, which can spread the herb over a considerable area. Now, Sag likes to spread its seed around, both metaphorically and literally, in some cases. Yet, what is the consequence of what is being spread? The Spanish are under the influence of Sagittarius and the global spread of Catholicism was due to the Inquisition and greed for conquering new lands, seeding it with the burning fires of hell they promised the faithless.

Fast forward to today and we have the Vatican now banning gay priests, after they have spread hatred and rage, guilt and fear as well as sexual perversion and obsession all around the world. What did they think would happen with non-married celibate priests? That they could keep their hands busy with work and prayer all the time? That which is denied is desired most. Cut off the freedom to engage in sex and you end up with horny priests succumbing to the temptation. There’s one story of a priest who went to Alaska in the 60’s and molested every boy in the entire parish. The men there are still having problems after all these years because they haven’t dealt with it very well. As if you can blame them! This ban on gay priests is centuries too late and it’s like finding out Mister Rogers or Captain Kangaroo were gay after they are already dead. There’s not much to do but further point out the hypocrisy of the Church and its ways, noting that this is part of their centuries of abuses towards humanity and the suffering of man wasn’t in the real words of God as much as it is from the teachings of violent, hateful men who want to control the masses with religion. God has always been a loving, forgiving God who has created you and accepted you for who and what you are.

11-22-63 is a date that will live in infamy. 42 years is half of the Uranus cycle, so it’s time to take another look. There was a mole in the JFK administration that had the motorcade route altered in time to set up the hit men. It’s one of the reasons I think Johnson may have been in on it. I will tell you that the CIA, the anti-Castro Cubans, and a French hit man were all involved and the cover-up was done at the highest levels of government. There are many reasons why there are so many theories and one is that JFK made a lot of enemies as he tried to do what was right for America and the world. Had he lived and his brother Bobby succeeded him, we probably wouldn’t have the trouble with Arabs today, since RFK would have found a way to work out a deal that succeeded to avoid the Arab oil embargo after he and Jack had gotten us out of Vietnam. We can not sit and focus on what might have been, but rather gather our forces and focus on the future of a world that has little time to right its ship of state. We have to look ahead to the mid-term elections of next year, encouraging all good people who are progressive and good talkers and better listeners, to stand up for the little guy and for what’s right, while defending against the abuses of corporate greed. We heard of the affluent society that we were becoming a part of in that decade, a time of revolution and liberation of the disenfranchised black citizen, as they were able to vote and work towards equality. We’re still not there, as the Latinos have become the latest casualty of the race war, which is why brown is the new black.

I saw Ted Koppel’s last broadcast and it seemed fitting that it ended with a whimper rather than a bang. No big, current story, but that in itself is interesting, along with the past year seeing the retirement or passing of all big three news anchors, Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings and Dan Rather. Perhaps they couldn’t stand reporting on the lies the Bush administration kept cranking out. There are reasons for everything and with broadcast journalism under the influence of Sagittarius, that it would be impacted by Pluto’s passage through Sagittarius. Jupiter squared Saturn this year, but I don’t think that’s it, although we have become aware that we have been prevented from hearing the truth by powerful forces in the government, because they want to hide their activities, since the more who know about them, the more can stop them. You can know a person by their heart and their actions can sometimes give them away but words have an easy access to lies. The only way to deal with life is with the truth. Ask for it, demand it and shout out how you need it!

I have a vision of clean cold fusion if there is a chemical engineer who will do the experiments to figure out the practical realities of it. We may be able to take two negatives and make a positive and it was my theory that compacting trash with a radioactive isotope that accelerates the degradation of the trash into its component elements and generates hydrogen fuel cells and high-density carbon along with every element in the periodic table. The process would have to be done in what will become former nuclear power plants as we convert to a recycling power generation system. I call this process elemental cold fusion and will dispose of generations of trash and plutonium, if a means is found to safely contain the radiation or direct it incrementally into constructive use. However, after discussing it with two of the smartest guys I know at the gym, one of whom studied physics to become a pilot, they said there was still no way to dispose of the radioactive waste and you would make more of it by blowing up the trash with it. I suppose it would be the ultimate dirty bomb. A short-term solution to deadly waste is in the vacuum of space on a moon or asteroid, although the Sun would consume it more efficiently. Another, more humorous solution to energy problems comes in the form of the gas-hole methane engine for cars. Those who eat a lot of peas, beans and peanuts or are prone to expelling a lot of gas will rejoice when the beaner-mobile hit the streets. Your farts are converted into fuel, so as you blow, so you go!

The guy who is about to sing for the grand jury, Michael Scanlon is hard to find a birth date on but I did find Abramoff. It’s the DeLay/Ney and 60 congressmen scandal I’m talking about. Uranus square Neptune is an aspect of moral ambiguity to say the least. It can be said that maintaining a realistic ethical ideal and living up to is a challenge. This is an aspect Jack Abramoff has in his chart, along with Venus square Neptune, as well, so deceiving people over money is a natural course of action for him. Venus is opposite Uranus, which is the fast attraction and separation with people that plays to his advantage in being able to rip people off. He co-wrote and produced Red Scorpion with the fake Arnold, Dolph Lundgren in the lead. His star and film as well as reputation as writer and producer were very short-lived but he made a comeback in ’94 when the GOP won back the House. He became a lobbyist and formed an association with Tom DeLay. Pisces Sun and Mercury trine Neptune might make him believe in the false prophets of Republican pseudo-sanctity and predictions that they would save the country. We’re seeing how that all turned out now, aren’t we. It might almost be fair to turn the pair of swindlers, Jack and Mike, over to the Indian tribes they defrauded to see what kind of scalping or torture they might feel appropriate. But there are greater crimes to be solved and for that, these guys need to stay alive…long enough to point the finger at every congressman on the take so they can be prohibited from seeking office ever again. Tom and Bob are involved all the way to the bank and Ney and DeLay must pay, I think, and more than money, anyway.

Jean Schmidt is one of those ironic coincidences, in that she has publicly put her foot in her mouth right before her birthday, so that I could find out her information and report to you what she’s all about. She reflects the open-mouth-insert-foot side of Sag that many who speak first without researching the facts stumble into. The hazard of spouting opinions without facts is that the truth tends to come back and smack you in the face. Opinions are fine in debate and discussion among friends but when you are speaking to a governing body and then offering up another person’s opinion and you point at one of the most respected members of the House, you speak on thin ice, lady. Well, that’s the music that comes to mind when I see this woman. John Murtha’s might as well be the Marine’s anthem, from the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, plus he’s the same sign as John Wayne. The fact is that she put another’s words in her own mouth, as she has four planets in Libra and has her agenda sculpted by someone more powerful than she is and is using her to get out a negative message. In a district resoundingly won by Bush in ’04, she barely beat Paul Hackett in the special election they had in the Cincinnati area earlier this year. As to her chart, she has her Sun, Moon and Mercury all in Sag, while Venus and Mars, along with Saturn and Neptune are in Libra, hence her acquiescence to apologizing for her uninformed remarks about the uniformed men cutting and running, which were then stricken from the Congressional Record. She will regret her statements all the way up to her bid for re-election, in which anyone blue would win there now…and long after, when she can’t even win a race for dogcatcher. But that’s just my opinion. Her Sun squares her nodes, so she is out of touch with her need for evolutionary growth. Mercury rules her South Node in Virgo and it squares Mars and Jupiter, showing poor, impulsive judgment, with over-reactive rage coming from past life arrogance. Her Venus is exactly conjunct Neptune and square Uranus, which doesn’t necessarily make her compassionate and understanding of other people’s values, just the ones who want to cut funding to the poor of this country to fund a war so they can still give tax cuts to the rich that never will make sense, let alone dollars. Saturn closely squares Uranus in Cancer, which clearly favors business over the welfare of the underdog lower and middle classes while taking care of the wealthy for the next several generations, or as long as our air and water last, unless we annihilate ourselves first. Women are generally ruled by the Moon, but not this one, as it seems her Moon makes no aspect to any planet in her chart, thus putting her far from any feelings in touch with the needs of others.

More significant about her chart at this time is that she is shown to be out of touch with humanity, as her progressed Sun opposes minor Uranus. She also has her progressed Mars exactly square to that opposition, causing an explosive battle on the House floor and it is a controversy of which we have not heard the last. Her progressed Moon as well as her minor Moon have returned to Sag, where political zeal outstrips rational preparation. It is as my college acting teacher said: before speaking, make sure your brain is engaged. He also said it is better to be silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. However, while I practiced what he preached during the 70’s as a mime, I found that as I matured, my voice came to me and I was mute no more. Trust me when I say that being raised by two Sag parents wasn’t easy for me, my siblings or our parents, either. Here we have a double Sag getting herself into trouble but what else is new for Republicans in Ohio and when are its citizens going to wake up and vote that corruption out of office? The political dartboard is getting filled up with these thieves and liars. Oh yeah, and Jean has minor Jupiter/Pluto on the progressed South Node, bringing in more secret cash as a result of political fundraisers and you know how they do it in Ohio. Coingate is only the tip of the iceberg there. Election fraud has to be investigated because it cost Kerry the election. Besides, Ohio has lost so many manufacturing jobs that they should organize the state’s union employees and remind them of the benefits membership in the GOP doesn’t offer the common man. Until someone destroys the witch and takes the ruby slippers, these monkey men will continue to work for evil. <Monkeymen>

Sagittarius principles are numerous and include truth, honesty and integrity, which often breeds heroism, courage under fire, bravery in the face of fierce obstacles and going above and beyond the call of duty. Presuming too much and over-stepping one’s bounds is a particular temptation as does judging before the experience is even considered. Well do I know the ways of excess and enthusiastic over-reaction, as I was raised by two Sag parents, and it was an experience I want to remember to forget…but I know I won’t. Every one of life’s experiences are part of a greater plan or higher purpose to teach you about the various paths of evolutionary growth and spiritual consciousness development. If the average human uses 10% of his or her brain, then we are a lot more than we can even begin to be aware of. There is a show on USA called The 4400 and it’s about abductees who are aided in tapping into the rest of the brain’s power. I have the theory that with active use and exercise, the mind can be developed to be more powerful and have a greater psychic potential as well as even telekinetic abilities.

I just started reading the Al Franken book, The Truth…with jokes and it tells the sad story of the 2004 election with its insights into what went on behind the scenes and since. I’m only into the 3rd chapter, but I think I know how this one turns out, since I listen to him a lot on the radio. It’s actually tough to read such a current event book when you’ve been keeping up with the writer and the information. The truth has been covered up by some of the most insidious lies ever concocted by a presidential administration. They have been deliberate, in order to mislead the people that there was real reason we went to war, other than greed and American imperialism. There would be little insurgency without our presence there and by staying the course we are losing lives and credibility with the world. The lies are so prevalent that they have been accepted by newspapers and television reporters as well as echoed by pundits as though the White House was feeding the same information to be put out by all right wing media outlets. Maybe it’s because that is some of what has actually been happening. Truth is an under-appreciated commodity these days, as facts are spun into half-truths and then ultimately spawn lies that are repeated by everyone. This isn’t the president I didn’t vote for! This is the guy who seems to have come from the pages of 1984.

The only thing we have to fear, is this administration, itself. When Bush said he’d run the country like a corporation, it wasn’t supposed to be modeled on the failures he’d run into bankruptcy. Tax cuts and then spend like there’s no tomorrow is an economic disaster plan based on the assumption of the Rapture. It’s very much part of his Sag South Node issue, as promising the world but exaggerating your ability to get the job done and failing, while claiming victory isn’t going to help. After losing lots of his political capital on a failed Social Security reform program, he has now shifted his focus on an ill-conceived tax reform plan that has less of a plan for helping those at the bottom 98% of the population than is needed. The way we have really become federally corporatized is the amount of income increase those at the top are getting compared with those at the bottom. In fact, under the Bush administration, income for those in the lower 98% is less than it was in 2000, while CEO’s and other highly placed corporate officers are earning far more than they were during the Clinton years, while having a greater failure rate, yet still bleeding the business dry. Look at Enron for the easiest example. By the way, as justice and jurisprudence are under the domain of Sag, I should mention that the trial of Kenny Boy Lay is under way and we shall see just how he’ll pay. We might also see Ney and DeLay go down in flames, so what the hay! Lay, Ney and DeLay. Anyone else want to go that way?

DeLay wants his Texas charges dropped, so maybe he’ll have more squirming when he comes up under indictment by the Justice Department in the widening House corruption scandal, as Scanlon squeals and Abramoff’s buddies fall over like dominoes. This investigation has legs like a centipede and arms like an octopus and it just keeps revealing more corrupt connections that lead you to the money. Patrick Fitzgerald will continue his digging further into the Plamegate case and will have Cheney and Rove up for indictment, along with Novak, Woodward, Miller and a few others in the Executive Branch. He’s enlisting a new grand jury and I think this time, there will be no leaks and he’ll get a lineup of criminals from the West Wing. With his birthday less than a month away, I hate to spoil his chart analysis and he’ll be on the Defenders of Freedom list. He’s like Elliot Ness going after Al Capone and perhaps he could be on a future ticket with Elliot Spitzer and go after all kinds of high-level corruption.

Sex-crazed teacher sentenced! Debra Lafave gets 3 years of house arrest for having sex with a 14-year old student. The jerk-off ratted her out and now boys have to sneak into her house to have sex with her. All I can say is that when I was that young, if a teacher wanted to have sex with me…and I wanted her, there’s no doubt I would have made it last the entire school year! That’s what happens when a young man’s fancy turns to into an older man’s missed teen years. I did a profile on her back in August, so you can check that out, if it interests you.

Mein Frau Angela Merkel 7-17-54 Hamburg, Germany is the new Chancellor of Germany and is the first woman and first former East German to head that country. I see her as very progressive, friendly and idealistic, as she has her Sun conjunct Uranus and Aquarius rising, which can make her seem cold and unemotional, but hey, she’s German! She’s smart and wise, with Mercury conjunct Jupiter and has a positive outlook with a broad coalition. With Venus is Virgo sextile Saturn in Scorpio she wants to help the people get to work and wants to help business prosper, which they do when people have money to spend, which happens when you work. She’ll be good for their economy and could maybe show the rest of the free world that a woman is as good, if not a better leader than many of the men you might have to choose from. After all, Mars trine Pluto won’t back down when there’s a lot at stake regarding the collective welfare. Since her South Node is near the degree of Bush’s Sun, he would drive her crazy, if and when he meets with her. She will find he drains the energy from her, as most evil vampires tend to do. She has an excellent chart that will benefit her country, as well as her own reputation as a doer.

Jenna and Barbie, his daughters, are the apples that didn’t fall far from the tree. The twins have Venus square Saturn, an aspect indicating a lack of love and affection from their father. They are afraid of love, having been raised in an environment of fear, which is why they have an addiction to alcohol, indicated by Mars square Neptune, a notorious aspect for addicts. Bisexuality is also common with these aspects. They also have Saturn conjoining Pluto, an indication of their dad’s megalomania, power, corruption and deep-rooted evil. Aspects like these tend to run in the family…Granddad Prescott has a similar Mercury/Pluto conjunction as GWB, while Mommy Barbara has the same Venus square Uranus as son, Jeb. George has the same Venus square to Chiron that his father has. These are very wounded people with fear and intimacy issues galore. There are strong Uranus placements and heavy 11th house placements that indicate a network of friends would be high on their list of priorities. It’s also why they can be cold and aloof regarding personal expression of their true feelings. As far as I can see, it’s a screwed up family with a hidden agenda.

26 Tina Turner has a Grand Trine from her Sun to Pluto and Jupiter, which is why she has held up so well over time, as she has continued to change with the times. Born on the Full Moon, her Mars in Pisces squares the lights and causes irritability and passive-aggressive behavior in a confrontational way. Venus square the opposition of Jupiter and Neptune is her unrealistic approach to relationships, wherein she has inflated expectations and incredible disappointments.
Charles Schulz, the creator of Peanuts, had his Moon conjunct Uranus in Pisces and Virgo North Node, with a loaded 5th house. All of this explains why he was so captivated by kids and animals, especially the dog, Snoopy.
Rich Little was the impressionist whose career ended after all the actors he did impressions of faded from the audience’s memory. His Mercury in Sag sextile Jupiter in Aquarius is a good reason for his being a funny man but his Moon in Capricorn opposite Pluto made him recycle the tried and true a little too often and it got old along with his material. Moon trine Neptune makes for artistic and intuitive creativity but Moon square Mars makes one irritable and annoying.

27Jimi Hendrix is a musical and cultural icon for many who weren’t even alive to experience the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Things were hopping in the 60’s in the City by the Bay, and the rock and roll scene was evolving like an acid trip on speed. He had been a backup musician for other singers for a while and it was time for him to break out on his own. This is a 12th house Sun square Chiron double Sag with Moon in Cancer conjunct Jupiter but not that far from Pluto, so a drug overdose would be the pronouncement of the coroner. His North Node in Leo was a shining beacon of the future as a performer and the Sun sandwiched between Venus and Mercury rising just before the Sun puts him in the position of being a writer, singer and composer as well. With the Sag stellium in opposition to Uranus and Saturn, he attracted weirdoes and control freaks, but he may have also needed people with a sense of structure and business savvy to keep the wheels from coming off the runaway bus. Mars in Scorpio gave him a lot of energy and with no planetary aspects, it isn’t connected to anything to incorporate into the rest of his life. Uranus rules the Aquarius South Node and it trines Neptune, so connecting with people from the past to create music seemed a natural way to go with this energy. Chiron and Hygeia near the North Node also speak of the need to care for his health and I guess that’s one theory why he died. Yet, the Moon/Jupiter /Pluto in the 8th house speak of a government conspiracy to kill him. By the way, the Sag-Gemini polarity often indicates the tendency toward a manic-depressive or bi-polar syndrome.

Hillary Hahn is an incredible young violinist who has Mercury retrograde conjunct Uranus in Scorpio, which makes for a brilliant mind that jumps into the future as easily as the past. Her Venus square Saturn delays, frustrates or stops any thoughts of having a decent relationship in this life. Moon in Pisces trines Mercury giving a good memory and intuitive response to the music, which is in her soul. Yet, both Moon and Saturn are square Neptune, so when she gained a career track, she lost a family, or she’s overcompensating for a lack of family cohesiveness by traveling and playing internationally. Mars and Jupiter are on the North Node and square her Sun, so there is surely a skipped step regarding her ego. She kept a blog going while on tour a while back, which fits the journaling nature of this vagabond spirit.

Caroline Kennedy is the only survivor of JFK’s immediate family. No wonder she has been reclusive, which fits the 12th house Sun and Saturn. I wonder what life would be like if every body lived their own life without scrutiny by anyone? Life without paparazzi and a pressing press corps after every living moment of your public life. Being a celebrity must be brutal these days. She has the same Moon in Aquarius opposite Uranus her brother had, which may have led to his death in the plane crash…and Mars squares it, so it would likely be some outside force that attacks. Let’s hope it never happens.

28 Jon Stewart has gained respectability by disrespecting the establishment in a respectable way, so I want to do a respectable and objective analysis on him since I like him so much and don’t want to over-praise him. His Sun. Moon and Mercury are all in Sag, curiously like Randy Newman, Jacques Chirac, and Jean Schmidt, but unlike her, his Mercury is heavily engaged in the chart. While she has angry liar stamped on her Mercury aspects, Jon has lovable wacko who strays into profanity with a smile and a wink. Here’s a funny thing, though…he has several of the same liar aspects that many Republican players have but being a Sag, his primary motive is to be funny, express the truth and find out more for himself. Venus is retrograde and conjunct Neptune in Scorpio, so he has a deep and passionate, almost transcendent love with his wife and the square to Saturn is the long time it took for him to settle down and have a family. He didn’t really have super well-paying steady work until The Daily Show became a hit with him at the helm. His chart is one big T-Cross, with the Sun/Mercury square the opposition of Jupiter for the humor and truth opposing Uranus (TV) and Pluto, investigative research and exposing corruption. Saturn on the South Node might have made it take extra time to really grow up and take responsibility and make a commitment. But it sextiles his Sun and Mercury, so when he got it, he really got it for good and it made sense what he was supposed to do. It’s what any good Sag wants to do…tell the truth in a humorous way and be able to have free time to travel and see places and meet people he would never otherwise experience. A real comedian doesn’t usually have strong financial maturity, so the retrograde Venus in its detriment in Scorpio square Saturn and on Neptune means that he needed a good woman to set him straight and get a handle on the reality thing. With his talent, he has no problem earning it, just how to spend it without going broke, because now he has three other mouths to feed. Chiron and Jupiter are a mere two degrees apart and it might be that he would want to produce an astrological or spiritual show, as he has shown an interest in astrology. I have a few ideas…

Randy Newman is a composer from a family of composers, especially film music, as his uncle is Alfred Newman, who is famous for the 20th Century Fox Fanfare, along with many fine film scores. Randy is famous for “I Love L.A.”, which is fitting considering he was born here and there was Short People, because he is. He wrote the soundtrack and sang the theme of Toy Story and many other whimsical scores. He, too, has Sag Sun, Moon and Mercury, hence his humor and wisdom come readily through his music, as comedies, dramas and animated film scores fly from his pen. And he also wrote the music to one of the best baseball films ever, The Natural. The 90’s saw him win several Oscars for his scores and songs in movies, so the appreciation and harmony with which his style blends into the film is his Venus in Libra sextile his Mercury and Moon as well as his Jupiter, then there’s the trine Venus makes to Mars and Saturn, so his dad was very supportive, along with his uncle Alfred. Sun opposite Uranus does incline him to be strange and independent and drawn to those types of people.

29 Vin Scully has been an announcer for the Dodgers since they were in Brooklyn and he was just out of Fordham University. When they came out west, he had to sell them on keeping him and not hiring a local Los Angeles broadcaster. He was part of the team and they were part of the growth of Los Angeles. He’s just turning 78 this week and while he’s lost a little of the sharpness, he’s still the best in the game. Another November Sag, Chick Hearn was the Lakers play-by-play man since they arrived in L.A. back in the dark ages of media, when color TVs were rare. Part of Vinny’s charm comes from his story-telling ability, further indicated by Mercury in Scorpio trine Jupiter. Sun/Saturn sextile Moon in Aquarius accounts for a friendly, footloose and freewheeling attitude. Yet Venus in Libra shows his affection for a single mate. Its square to Pluto shows the loss of a loved one and he had at least one child die. Mars and Sun square Neptune shows an addiction and a sacrifice of someone he loves for the purpose of doing what he has been doing for the last 50 years.

Jacques Chirac is the president of France, once our ally, now a public relations problem for the White House. His Mars/Neptune in Virgo sit on the South Node, so he might have been a soldier in his previous life and he made the ultimate sacrifice, so wouldn’t feel compelled to be for war in this life. Sun square the Mars/Neptune might make for passive-aggressive confrontations, but he won’t back down from a real fight. Moon in Sag square Jupiter in Virgo cause him to over-react emotionally, so, when he gets mad, it’s really mad! Venus in Scorpio square Saturn in Aquarius is rough because his sexual desire is frustrated by the responsibilities of running a nation. Sure he could pull a blowjob in the office like Bill Clinton, but this is not the same type of personality. Mercury trine Uranus is his progressive brilliance but Mercury is retrograde and he falls into some of the old world patterns of thought. He was born with Uranus square Pluto, at the time when Nazis were rising to power and he lived through that horrible time in France when invasion and occupation repressed any organized insurgency. This is the resistance fighter and youthful support during his adolescence. Jupiter sextile Pluto allowed him to see the transformation of his country and the world into a better place during his lifetime. Only of late has it been falling apart, thanks to his cross-Atlantic counterpart undermining the fabric of geo-political, environmental and religious harmony. His Mars in Leo trines Sun/Uranus/Venus /Saturn/Chiron, so he got the job done, while over in Gemini is the Moon closely conjoined to Neptune, for the imagination and fantasy invoked in his stories and Mercury in opposition to them would have helped focus the mind and stimulate the imagination. Pluto is also in Gemini in opposition to Venus/Saturn, so I would guess some obvious dangerous threats and subtle sexual issues were underneath some of the subliminal story elements. Mercury sextile Jupiter is the ability to tell a long and winding tale with many chapters, but it takes you to a delightful and satisfying conclusion. This is the author of The Chronicles of Narnia.

30 G. Gordon Liddy is a friend of Al Franken, most unbelievably, unless you listen to his Air America Show and have heard G appear or heard Al speak about him. They don’t agree on all things political but they have a connection. Whenever you look at the chart of an extremist, you can often tell by something standing out. His divorce from reality is the Sun square Neptune, like our Chief Defective Executive, with which one expresses avoidance of the harsh material realities. Mercury is in Sag, trine Mars for a quick, intelligent mind and then is inconjunct Jupiter/Pluto, a high-pressure international death squad kind of guy. That last one also makes him one of those bloviating right wing nut radio talk show guys. With Moon in Aries approaching Uranus and both square Saturn, he was part of a detached group of assassins who would kill democratically elected officials and install right wing military juntas to protect the corporate raiders who were raping the land and its people. Saturn trine Neptune could be this involvement of the shadow government. Venus is retrograde in Scorpio and trine Jupiter/Pluto, so it might leave a money trail to trace him back to the crime, especially since these two bad boys are square the nodes, making them a karmic deficiency for the person born in that cycle of time. In other words, G would have a problem with truth and secrets, corruption and scandals…oh my! G has a grand trine with Sun to Uranus in Aries and Mars in Leo, which is athletic, quick to act and ready to go at a moment’s notice. It got him through federal prison, at least. Mark Twain, Dick Clark, Bruce Lee, and Winston Churchill were also born on this, my late mother’s birthday, and I don’t think I have to explain who they were.

1 Richard Pryor is one of the comedians who is considered a pioneer of modern stand-up, along with Lenny Bruce and George Carlin. Pryor has Moon trine Jupiter and Saturn, so his truth had a purpose, but his Sun is the only thing in Sagittarius. Bruce was a Libra with Sag rising and Venus there, while Carlin has North Node and Mars in Sag. Richard Pryor, Bette Midler, Woody Allen are examples of the highly talented in multiple areas. Sure, Woody has some issues and they are born out readily in his chart, like Mars opposite Pluto squared by Venus, his sexual obsessions and the Sun square Neptune being his delusions and his South Node in Cancer, the indication that he can’t grow up and be a mature man.

2 Britney Spears would be a horrible way to wrap up the celebrities for the week so perhaps the charts of Monica Seles or Maria Callas would be more interesting. I like the late conductor John Barbirolli as well as painter Seurat, but I really don’t have enough time to do them and they aren’t all that compelling enough to warrant analysis.

People have different perceptions of what truth really is and don’t always want to hear someone else’s perception of what it might be. Reality is not what we experience but how we view our world and how it functions. You build a construct to deal with it based on your experiences. Yet, while Sag is about perception, it’s not about reality versus fantasy as much as it is about the wisdom gained from the combination of observation and experience. We all know more at the soul level than we allow ourselves to be aware of and it is these attitudes and the philosophies shaped by them that are the core of how we live out our lives and create our values. Values may be a Taurus quality but every sign has them and in order to improve on the form you were given at birth, you have to find meaning for them and your life. That might be part of the message of this sign, as the truth only sets you free to explore your own soul’s evolutionary growth. In the progression of signs, it’s where things become exciting, as Sag leads to expanded vision, Capricorn leads to a purpose with structures and a goal and that directs you to liberate your energy through Aquarius and finally releases your spirit at the end of the wheel in Pisces. It doesn’t mean the journey is over, but that one cycle is complete and you are ready to continue on a higher level of existence. This is the truth and so many people on this planet don’t want to know it because they would have to take personal responsibility and then they can’t let God or Jesus rescue them because that is they way they were trained to believe. We will have to learn the truth of the old adage the Jews are fond of saying. “God helps those who help themselves.”

The Sun goes into Sag on Monday night just after the football game. Sag is the sign of government, which is allegedly for the people and by the people but it has been hijacked by people who have come out of businesses where Saturn is the operative planet. Now, instead of having a beneficial government, it has taken a turn in the direction of the stern and punishing father. When they let the big oilmen come in and lie their way through an investigative committee, you know someone has secret deals of protectionism. Oil comes from the Earth in a land we all share and that should be a national resource and while I’m not suggesting that we nationalize and socialize the oil industry, it might be better than the current system. In this week’s Newsweek, there’s an article on ten eco-friendly companies that are vying for the business of the green energy producers that will be the necessary replacement for the oil industry. You have biodiesel, solar, hydrogen, cow manure, oxide fuel cells, the updated Stirling engine, which is a little like a steam engine, wind turbines and ocean wave power generation. There are probably more technologies awaiting the inspiration of a brilliant inventor/engineer including cold fusion and matter-antimatter engines dreamed up for the original Star Trek series. By the way, James Doohan, who played the chief engineer, Scotty, had his ashes launched into space for his final resting place, so I suppose his soul wants to continue the journey to follow his remains, or the other way around.

Our Scorpio Senator Barbara is leading the Boxer Rebellion in the Senate to get some accountability for the accounting, which deals with other people’s money, on account of it being a Scorpio principle. I understand why there are people saying the Democrats don’t have any vision for America, which is really untrue, but they aren’t bold enough to set a unified agenda that really changes the dynamics of our country. Right now, they are running around like crazy to stop every stupid and destructive thing the Bush administration has been doing, so they spend their time putting out fires instead of getting their constituents fired up about more progressive programs. If they want to institute a program that will not only pay for itself, but it will create jobs, industries and improve the environment by the greening of America, then they have to stand for bold changes to existing laws. The idea is to expand the arable lands with the repeal of the anti-hemp laws, which weren’t really originally about marijuana, but the hemp processing that threatened to compete with established and powerful industries. A fledging industry doesn’t stand a chance of standing up to the big boys when there is a conspiracy between the older powers and the corrupt side of the government. Hemp would create a variety of multi-billion dollar industries that would allow for a more eco-conscious lifestyle for many Americans. The Democrats have to stand up for this and not back down to pressure from alleged anti-drug people but are really funded by corporate lobbyists. We can transform our country from the crumbling, decadent democracy it has become to a shining example of adaptation to a new way of living. Conservatives, who aren’t really what their name implies, are the obstacles to the future as they attach themselves to the bad, old days and attitudes. How can that be progressive?

In ages past, kings and emperors had to sire a male heir to fulfill their destiny to pass along the next generation of leaders for the people. Seems to me that Bush and Cheney have failed in that respect, leading me to believe they lack significant levels of testosterone, which is why they avoided serving in the Vietnam War. A president needs to lead by example and George Washington was a perfect illustration, as he led the rag-tag troops from one battle to another without ever really defeating the enemy soundly, except at Trenton, which was due to the surprise ambush he carried out. These guys today would be a disgrace to the position they hold as leaders of the country, that they have fathered no suitable heir…but that’s a good thing, since you really don’t want those genetic lines to continue any further than they have already. The ironic thing is that daddy Bush wanted to have an elitist breeding program but after the miserable failures of his brood, including the death of their only female child, that idea wasn’t going to work out all that well.

Venus is in Capricorn and has to do with denial of responsibility because it is also in a close square to the nodes. The South Node is in Libra at this time, having been there since December of last year. It was August when the transiting South Node conjoined Bush’s Jupiter and the Karl Rove thing came out that I think that’s when they started to come up with this particular strategy. Blame the blamers, Mr. Bush…they keep rewriting history about why the war started…now who did that? It seems that the Libra Moon/Chiron/Jupiter that Bush has in the third house makes it real easy for him to project onto others the very faults he has of which he is in denial. His own actions are what he is describing and ascribing to the Democrats, but this is his instinctive defense mechanism that he employs with great regularity. It’s easy to blame others and harder to take responsibility, especially with a 12th house Cancer Sun and Saturn! It would be simplistic to explain these placements as avoidance of personal responsibility but it does fit. Cheney is also a blamer with his Moon in Pisces in the 7th house and he has the North Node in Libra with Neptune near it, so has become delusional and has been living in a state of unreality for a long time, which is why Fibby McLibby was so important in spreading around the lies and rumors that Dickhead wanted out there to show some reason for going to war against Saddam.

Political secrets would be an apt combination of the Scorpio cusp with Sagittarius and many of them are coming out now, even as I predicted earlier this year. It turns out that Nixon was very explicit about lying to the American public during his secret war in Cambodia. It’s also this same energy that motivates political game playing as in the shielding of flu vaccine manufacturers from any liability, when there has already been a huge spike in autism because of mercury in vaccines since 1989. This administration is the great protector of business and industry with Bush’s Saturn in Cancer in the 12th but the US chart has Saturn in Libra in the 10th, so that they can be perceived as rescuers of the corporate world and finish the job of destroying the middle class with deregulation that Reagan began. Essentially, they are undermining everything the previous generations have worked to attain, going even farther to eliminate all the FRD New Deal programs they possibly can, wanting to turn back the clock to the days of slavery, if you look at the situation in the Marianas Islands. Tom DeLay, the Aries with Moon in Scorpio is responsible for that sick mess. Sometimes, pressure from the consensus changes things that would have been unfair or even insane, like the maniac Ted Stevens, Scorpio with Moon in Aries and his bridge to nowhere, which has been canceled, even though Alaska still gets the money…because Ted is on the Appropriations committee. Want to get money for your state? Then become a senator or congressman in which case, you can get kickbacks from the recipients of the federal government’s generosity that was engineered by your manipulations. Stevens bought himself a brand new Gulfstream jet with taxpayer money, even though Alaska’s airfields aren’t able to accommodate the thing. He’ll probably use the money to build bigger airstrips for his private jet!

This Republican Party is beyond evil with their talk of torture. They are vicious in their attacks on sensible people who want to know what is going on. Some soldiers and Marines who are deployed around the world can’t keep their hands to themselves and have been reputed to have raped local women, as reported from the Philippines. There have been plenty of stories about anal rape of male detainees in Iraq, which is disgusting, if you ask me. This is in addition to the use of torture and severe punishments for lack of cooperation. It used to be that prisoners of war were treated with respectable contempt but these people have taken all the respect out of being a POW and it has John McCain hopping mad so much so that it drove him to write a column for Newsweek, since he, himself, was a victim of torture in North Vietnam. The former head of Abu Ghraib, Janis Karpinski, said it was the CIA and the higher ups in the Pentagon who placed those prisoners in the path of psychopathic extremist interrogators who would stop at nothing to break even an innocent detainee. This is behavior sanctioned by the ABCD crime team of Alberto Gonzales, Bush, Cheney and Don Rumsfeld, no matter how much they deny their complicity. They are so vicious. <Lou Reed>

Coveting what belongs to others and plotting to steal, smuggle or otherwise obtain valuables that are illegally gotten on the international market also comes under the influence of Scorpio. So when art museums have their works on display and some representative from a foreign government says that a certain item was stolen from their country, it puts us in an awkward position. So why do we have it? How did we come to have it and who brokered the deal to get it sent here? The Getty Museum is one of the museums that have more booty of questionable origin. It could be that the world of museums has gotten so highly competitive, that in order to get the patrons to open up their wallets, curators have to scour the world and the black market to obtain rare treasures, many of which were stolen during WWII by the Germans and are only now finding their way back to their rightful owners. But that’s not all of it, since there have been many hunters of antiquities and archeologists who would have also tried to eliminate Indiana Jones, and they are desperate to find something of historical significance and as such, don’t always realize their impact on the locals and their heritage. One of the Scorpio themes is jealousy and it can happen professionally as well as personally. I feel jealousy is an overused and outdated form of insecurity expressing itself in anger over the loss of one’s place in the emotional or material pecking order. If you have a really secure relationship, which takes two people making an effort to compromise and accept each other for who and what they are, then you have no reason to be insecure, envious or jealous.

Environmentalists and those who are ecologically aware should be up in arms over the continuing pollution of our waterways and that includes pesticides from farmland runoff. The chemical toxins are altering the biology of the water-dwellers, like fish becoming laden with mercury and alligators that are sterile and have deformed or smaller than normal sexual organs or the destruction of the coral reefs. There have been some frogs that lived near a factory farm that have developed into hermaphrodites because of the water being polluted by pesticides and fertilizers. These sex-changing frogs are having no fun and no offspring, either. They helped to keep the bug population down once upon a time, but with the rise of chemical farming and mechanized equipment, they have been dwindling in their numbers. It isn’t just about the wildlife, either, since you eat that food that the growers produce using these chemicals and if you think that by ingesting them, you’ll live longer, then you’re just wrong. Poisons are being pumped into the air, the ground and the water to make things grow or die and we are getting the brunt of its negative impact. There has to come a time when much farming will be done without pesticides or chemicals again, perhaps it will have to be done in enclosed greenhouses, but that’s one way of controlling growing conditions. We have to change our selves to change our lives but we also need to recognize the purpose of change. It is the purpose of life to evolve and grow into a greater version of the self you are now. We have an eternal amount of time to get our souls into harmony, balance and realignment, but you have to remember that it is a continuing journey and you don’t have any long rest periods where you do nothing at all. People think of heaven as a place where you hang out up there and play a harp on a cloud. Excuse me but that’s just mythology.

Transformation is easy but a sex change is not so much, unless you happen to be a frog or fish that lives in polluted waters and are exposed to chemicals that alter your sex characteristics and behavior, even creating sterility, hermaphrodites and transsexuality. The hormones ranchers inject into their livestock and the water some people drink is also having a similar effect on some humans, causing greater incidence of transsexuality than ever before. Many of these people who have had their genes altered by fate, chemicals or by their own volition are experiencing personal transformation that goes beyond the evolutionary journey we are all on. They have to transform their very way of thinking, feeling, dressing and acting, for which many could have won an Academy Award, if they were given out to those who can pass for a real woman. One problem occurs when they find far too much prejudice in the job market and can’t get straight work, so they turn to porn and prostitution, having lowered their ideals, standards and values to becoming a whore. This is not limited to adults who have changed their sexual styling, since there is rampant growth in teenage prostitution in Hollywood and Las Vegas, as well as children performing sexual acts with international sex tourists. This is exploitation of the innocent in its worst form. Yet, some kids run away just to put themselves into the life of sex, drugs and rock and roll. Heidi Fleiss wants to open up a nude dude brothel to cater to horny women who want to pay for sex, but because she’s an ex-felon, may not get a permit. We’ll see, won’t we?

In the darker world of transsexuality, all the Scorpio themes are readily played out…suspicion, jealousy, revenge, violence and obsession. They are often victims of beatings, rape and even murder, as in the recent case of Gwen Araujo in the Bay area…just because she was a he. I have known a few transgender people and they are unusual but in no way a threat to anyone of any sexual preference. There’s nothing to catch, since they aren’t usually contagious in being able to spread the sexual ambiguity. It’s something people have from deep in their souls, a sort of polarity as to which way you tend to swing. Now it’s true that some male to female (MTF) transsexuals don’t want to go all the way with their transformation, calling themselves non-ops, but most go all the way. Alexis Arquette, brother of Rosanna and Patricia, is going to be undergoing the sex-change process on national TV, where he goes from TV to TS to Female within the span of one season, I’m assuming. It’s kind of a brave thing to publicly do a very personal private thing.

Putting out a contract on Osama bin Laden for a million bucks is Bruce Willis but if you are employed by the military, you can’t collect on it. However, private bounty hunters are welcome to search for the missing leader of the terrorists we most love to hate. Actually, they probably wouldn’t be so bad of they didn’t have our total annihilation as their divine purpose. What if the guy is already dead from kidney failure? It has been well known that this is his medical problem and there were several birth dates that were available for him and I just picked the one in which kidney disease was the most obvious and where the other aspects made sense for who and what he is. As for Willis, he’s on the cusp of Pisces/Aries with Moon and Venus in Aquarius, so you think he’s cool as a cucumber. But Venus is square the opposition of Mars in Taurus and Saturn in Scorpio, so he’d like to strike back at any target he is fearful of or angry at. The Moon squares Neptune, with which a Pisces has a problem, since it triples the negative effects of not dealing with reality. His defense is a good offense, if it has the right motive. Venus opposite Pluto and they are both square Saturn, makes him not like too many people because he doesn’t trust easily. Mercury in Pisces trine Neptune in Libra is good for acting and understanding what needs to be said and certain beliefs are just understood, but with his Sun inconjunct Neptune and also square the nodes, his ego is unrealistic as to what he can personally do to effect global change that has religious fundamentalist roots rather than political ones. It’s not about the money, Bruce. It’s someone who doesn’t want to be captured and brought to justice. He has enough money where he could change his appearance and get a job as a broker on Wall Street, just to set economic changes into place that will cause the downfall of our financial system…or someone else could. It’s a deadly game out there just like the Scorpio/Sag theme we have this week.

The choking game and autoerotic asphyxiation are ways of getting a non-drug head rush that can easily be fatal, yet there have been many deaths attributed to people strangling themselves to death in an effort to get a huge high or an incredible orgasm by diminishing the amount of oxygen they get. The problem is, that as you lose consciousness with the high, you can’t remember to stop strangling yourself. It seems to me that these people are already brain dead and they are just helping to thin the herd. It would be a blessing for more people to off themselves if they have no usefulness to society. Suicide shouldn’t be illegal and assisted suicide only makes more sense as in being compassionate to the terminally ill. But there are really some souls who have no reason to live and haven’t made the effort to learn anything about themselves in order to have the insight to want to grow, so they do stupid things. Scorpio is the sign of sex and death, while Sagittarius is about taking risks for adventure and fun. You’ll get people who go far out onto a limb with no clue as to how to navigate the way back. This has to do with the death wish Scorpio has and the over-the-top nature of Sag, but it can lead to obsessive/compulsive behavior and self-destructive tendencies that destroy lives.

As though to deliberately distract you from morbid themes, let’s take a look at some interesting parallels in this week’s birthdays.

11-19 Jodie Foster and Meg Ryan are born on the same day, one year apart, yet they would not likely play the same character. They don’t even have the same sexual orientation, as far as most of us who know can tell. Another difference is their time of birth and the resulting ascendant, which for Jodie is Sag and Meg has a Cap ASC. Isn’t it interesting that the Capricorn ASC plays more of the comedies and the Sag is more of the drama? I think it has something to do with the lunar nodes, to an extent, as Jodie has her North Node in the dark and intense 8th house, so she likes to explore the extreme sides of life. Jodie has the Sun conjunct Mercury, so has a bright, inquisitive, intellectually acute mind and personality. Venus is retrograde conjunct Neptune, so there is something of the victim of dysfunctional relationships and the square to Mars only makes that more conflicted and confrontational, although Mars square Neptune is passive aggressive anger and can descend into addictive behavior and the combination points to gay or bisexual leanings. In fact, with Chiron in Pisces conjunct Jupiter, excessive escapism and addiction is a generally problematic area. That they oppose the Moon/Uranus conjunction makes it all the more difficult to deal with close and intimate emotional relationships, since the best ones are always the greatest distance away. With Saturn on the South Node in Aquarius, she was male in her previous lifetime and is now dealing with that. She has her Moon/Uranus conjunction in the 9th and the Moon rules her 8th, so I think she started in on her lesbian encounters while she was still in school, probably college. She may have even gone to bed with a teacher. Having her Sun and Mercury in the 12th, she has avoided talking about her personal life, being the house of secrets and sorrows.

Meg has the classic movie star aspect of Neptune on her MC and with Venus so close is the glamorous and famous part. Mercury is also on in this stellium and it makes for the sweet innocent mind of compassion and acceptance. Scorpios radiate sex appeal and her water explains her onscreen connection to one of the best male actors, Tom Hanks, who is a Cancer. Her Moon is in Aries, which justifies her 10-year marriage to Dennis Quaid, an Aries, who has his Sun on her Moon. They ended because she went after Russell Crowe, another Aries. With Moon square Saturn, she had to stop her emotional impulses from dictating her life-changing decisions. With Mars conjunct her Sun and they are square to Uranus, she is a bubbly explosive mess of chaos and with Mars square Pluto, when she gets angry, look out, dude! Maybe that’s why she picks Aries men, so she can get mad without ending the relationship, as they relate to anger. Meg has her North Node in Leo, so plays a lot of romantic comedies about relationships, of course and it trines her Moon, so she needs that kind of emotional release.

James A. Garfield may have been one of the lesser chief executives but only because of the brevity of his life in office. He was shot in July of his first year and died after two and half months lingering with a bullet wound and the projectile still lodged in his body. He was working to rid the Capital of corruption and for his efforts he was assassinated. Here we have the chart of a pleasant and social person, with Venus on his Libra ASC and Moon in Taurus. But Venus opposed Pluto and Jupiter on the South Node squared his Moon, so he may have promised more than he delivered. This also relates to a powerful cabal that wanted him gone, so they could more readily manipulate the next office holder, Chester A. Arthur, who turned out to be a better man and president than that. Garfield had Mars in Scorpio inconjunct Pluto in Aries, a mutual reception they wouldn’t have known about then, since Pluto was discovered 50 years after he was elected president, so there were dark forces at work that conspire to take down democratically elected leaders. Sun sextile Neptune and Moon trine made him a very sensitive and intuitive man who used subtlety as a fine art. Mars square Uranus might be accident-proneness or an unexpected attack that would have unfortunate consequences. Jupiter on the South Node made his political principles questionable but the ideals may have been unrealistically high and that might have motivated his enemies to strike.

Allison Janney is the President’s Chief of Staff on the West Wing, although she had been the press secretary and spokesperson. Allison also has Sun conjoining Mars, as several other famous Scorpios seem to have. The ironic thing is that her nodes are the same sign and degree as Dickhead Cheney, but she has Moon in Cancer and has Mercury in Sag conjoining Jupiter and if that isn’t honest, I don’t know what is! Of course, it is square Pluto, so stuff comes out of her mouth that many sailors wouldn’t even say! Her Venus is in Libra but it squares Saturn in Capricorn, so her love life is frustrating, partly because she is a tall woman and is intimidating to many guys. Another part of the problem is the Moon square Venus, never an easy aspect for sustaining any kind of conventional relationship. Add Mars in Scorpio square Uranus and you have the possibility that there is some sexual flip-flopping going on, as in bisexuality. Her Mercury retrograde with Jupiter is her openness to a dualistic lifestyle and the square to Pluto makes her secretive enough not to have spoken about it. Saturn is square the nodes, so I think her dad set her off in a negative and alternative direction.

Ted Turner is the mega media mogul who married Jane Fonda for quite a while and couldn’t change her politics as much as she changed his. With Mercury in Sag in the first house sextile Mars in Libra in the tenth, he was always one of the smartest and most driven member of any class he was in. Mercury trine Saturn in Aries makes for a career in publishing and broadcasting in which he would be a pioneer. Scorpio and Capricorn are the richest signs of the zodiac and Venus square Jupiter makes living life to excess mean something. Moon in Libra trine Jupiter in Aquarius certainly would be attracted to a Sag with Moon in Leo and Mars in Aquarius sextile Sun at the end of Sag. Her Juno is right on his Sun, so there was certainly a passion, and if it was political disagreements, all the more stimulating. Her Mars squares his Sun, so they had to have fought. She has Pluto in the 7th, which explains both marriage to a Scorpio and the divorce. He has Sun/Venus square Jupiter, which could be seen as high expectations and excessive enthusiasm for love, but it can also be interpreted as a passion for a politically challenging partner. With his Moon square Pluto, he, too, liked explosive passions erupting with extreme expression, which can make for kinky sexual practices. Ooh, to have been a fly on the wall of that mansion, but I would then want the ability to turn human again when it would work out.

11-20 Joe Biden is running for president in 2008 but will he even make it past Iowa? He voted in favor of the credit card companies to take you to the cleaners and eliminates bankruptcy as an option, since it will now only protect the large corporate offenders. He’s a leader on the Foreign Relations and the Judiciary Committees. That he is a good, positive and personable fellow is indicated by the Sun/Venus/Mercury in Scorpio trine his Jupiter in Cancer. His Taurus Moon square Pluto might cause his ethical dilemma regarding which side of his bread is buttered. There could be some suspicions about the integrity of his financial decisions, which is probably why he’s not on any of the finance or monetary committees. His Uranus is in Gemini square the Virgo/Pisces Nodes and he could have some issues regarding principles, as in they change a little rapidly for some. His Mars is square Pluto and could bring up some anger issues that explode at the wrong moment. Think of Howard Dean after a third place finish in Iowa. I don’t think I’m buying Biden, but rather biding my time until the real deal comes along.

John R. Bolton is a Scorpio, wouldn’t you know, with Moon in Cancer square Neptune, so total deception as a defense mechanism. He has Mars in Sag conjunct Jupiter opposite Uranus, so has enthusiasm for war and a separatist attitude toward the rest of the world. He might also like boys with big dicks. It’s also an attraction to anarchy and chaos, since the destabilization or dismantling of the UN would engender that in the world. His Sun has Chiron right on it and his Mercury squares Pluto, so he’s a bitch to work for, as he’ll destroy your psyche for the simplest infraction, depending upon his moods because he’s an extremely wounded soul with a lot of pain that creates anger and fear. With Jupiter trine Saturn, he figures his experience and long service warrant the freedom to use whatever he wants to get the results he wants, not realizing the end doesn’t always justify the means if it means innocent people get hurt, wounded or killed. His Mercury square Pluto obsesses on death and killing off people he doesn’t like because he’s xenophobic. It will also cause him to say the extreme thoughts he believes that will ultimately betray him. Not only does his Cancer Moon square Neptune, which makes for addictions to alcohol and food, she’s also square to Venus, the clash with the goddess, in which he is in complete inharmony with the needs and wants of others, having no appreciation for their feelings or needs. With Jupiter square Juno, he wildly misjudges people and expects far too much of them, which they try to deliver but can’t do it the way he expects it to be done, so he bullies and berates them to an abusive extent. Ceres is close to Pluto, so his idea of taking care of someone is either sexual or murder. I think the capper in this whole situation is the challenging square from his Saturn, planet of management and organization, power and authority, as well as fear, insecurity and control, to his asteroid Pallas, the goddess of wisdom, diplomacy and tact. In other words, he is quite limited in his ability to muster the capacity to be diplomatic, which is the worst thing for a UN ambassador to have. Not a diplomatic bone in his body!

Immediately, the most challenging aspect that makes her so weird is her Mercury in Sag squaring the Virgo Uranus/Pluto conjunction and her Chiron in Pisces. This is obsessive, crazy, wounded genius or insanity. She has her Neptune rising just before her Scorpio Sun resulting in the world of art, music and song appealing to her. Though she has Venus and Mars in Capricorn giving her Old World values and desires, Venus trine Uranus/Pluto might have some life-altering, futuristic effects on her, nonetheless. Her visions carried forward and backward, as her Moon trines both Jupiter and Saturn, though they don’t come close enough to complete a grand trine. Her Sun hovers close to the South Node, about six degrees away, so she might have some strong attachments to things or expressions from long ago, either her childhood or a past life. Mars opposite Jupiter shows she is obviously unafraid of taking a leap and risking a lot on what she does in public. After all, as a double Scorpio, it’s imperative to know when to keep a secret and when not volunteering information might cause some real dangerous problems.

Dick Durbin is a senator and the minority whip, the second highest minority post in the senate. Here’s another leader with Sun/Mars conjunction and Mercury in Sag sextile Moon in Aquarius, hence a progressive view. He’s got some personal relationship issues with Venus in Capricorn opposite Saturn squared by Neptune in Libra and it may affect how he deals with powerful people. Moon trine Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Libra make for a grand trine in air signs, so he has slept around, perhaps, and has an open relationship, whether or not she knows it, but it’s only speculation. 11-22 Rodney Dangerfield never got any respect because he had Saturn conjoining Mars and Jupiter square Pluto. Mercury/Venus square Neptune makes for a socially amoral victim of circumstances beyond their control. I get no respect…I’m tellin’ ya!
Scarlett Johansson has a hot look and a Scandinavian cool name. She is very intelligent in an almost brilliant but unfocused way that comes from Mercury in Sag semisquare Mars in Aquarius. Her Moon and Saturn in Scorpio straddle the South Node, so she’s working off a lot of sexual karma and obsessive tendencies. Her Venus is in Capricorn conjunct Jupiter, so she’ll never lack for money, unless she gambles it or gives it away. Her zero degree Sun in Sag is opposite Chiron, so she attracts wounded people all the time and feels compelled to help them in some way. Her Moon is so late in Scorpio that it is very close to her Sun, so she needs to take better care of herself and in her career, make better choices for the movies she’s in. She may be a little flaky when it comes to her health, having Chiron in Gemini and Hygeia in Aquarius.

11-23 Jan Rooney has to be a saint to have been married to Mickey for as long as she has and as sour as that little Virgo man can be. He has Mars square Saturn and Mercury square Pluto…suspicious. She actually called me once to do a reading, but we never managed to make it happen, for some reason. She’s a double Sag with Leo ASC and Pluto is conjoining it. Her Moon is conjunct Mercury, which gives a good memory and is sextile Jupiter in the 7th in Aquarius, so she has lots of friends and is very open-minded. Her Venus is in Scorpio sextile Neptune, which explains her understanding, accepting and sympathetic nature and it squares Jupiter, giving a little too much with misplaced generosity that may be unwarranted or undeserved. Mercury is sextile Mars in Libra in the 3rd, giving a quick and astute mind, able to point out a point she wants to make and with the sextile to Jupiter, able to laugh at life’s events while seeing things philosophically and suggesting what to do to make it better. But the Moon and Mercury square Neptune and she can become confused and lost in trying to understand her feelings or thoughts, as the imagination turns into dementia with time and not always symptomatic of debilitating disease. It could also be a lack of understanding or empathy at times. When you have Pluto on your Leo ASC, you get obsessed with your own personal reality and existence. Uranus is on the South Node in the 10th and she might find it hard to find the time to have her friends people her life. Because with Venus conjunct Hygeia on the North Node, she has to care for an ailing mate who has lived a long time…he’s 85! Saturn is virtually unaspected, but for a square to Chiron and semisquare to Jupiter, so she hasn’t had much of a career because of the insecurities she faced from facing her father. Sag people overcompensate and find more to do than they are responsible for, which is why they progress into Capricorn as they age and learn to trim the excess.

11-24 Katherine Heigl has found a role for which her chart fits nicely. She has her Moon in Virgo, which would need to wear a uniform. Mars in Sag conjunct Neptune would spend energy by rescuing people from danger, although it is the sign of the space traveler, which she played in Roswell. Her enthusiasm for love and her heartbreak when it doesn’t happen as she expects, is her Venus retrograde in Scorpio square Jupiter and that Chiron opposes Venus adds the wounded healer as the object of affection. Moon square Neptune is emotionally addictive and disappointed often because the expectations were so high. Sagittarians are often prone to bi-polar episodes or personalities. She’s a smart, imaginative and driven woman with Mercury/Mars/Neptune in Sag but they square the Moon and Saturn in Virgo, so her parents didn’t approve of her choice of career or her interests in social activities when she was younger.

11-25 JFK Jr. died too soon and with a woman who would not have made him happy in the long run. His chart shows an aviation buff, a writer and editor, the family fortunes and misfortunes, with Venus in between Jupiter and Saturn, conjunct both in Capricorn. The opposition to Mars shows a powerful woman giving him battles aplenty. John had Moon in Aquarius opposite Uranus, which is an indication that there might be an accident as the cause of death. Princess Diana had that aspect, but then, it wasn’t really an accident. Was it? A conspiracy perhaps?

Sheer decadence, would have been her downfall in the 90’s, while she was making it big with Married With Children, the anti-Father Knows Best which helped launch Fox, along with The Simpsons and Cops. Jupiter sextile Uranus is why she hit it big in TV but Venus square Pluto is financial or romantic disaster. Other than a conjunction to Venus, Mercury makes no major aspects. Oh dear…I hope she’s not a total ditz!

Well, dear folks, I realize that this week is Thanksgiving and I didn’t even touch on the subject, which is Mercury retrograde for looking backward and at the now rather than ahead in time. The Moon is in Virgo on Turkey Day, so be polite and mind your manners, offer to help clean up afterwards unless you’re dining out and don’t eat like a pig. Far too many Americans are already overweight as I know full well, having been among their number very recently. Last week of Scorpio and Mercury retro is tomorrow, so batten down the hatches, prepare to meet the regularly scheduled doom that seems to unfold with the advent of almost every Mercury retrograde that comes around. I suppose I could repeat myself and say what I’ve said before but you can go back to the transcripts of the last retrograde on the July 23rd show and see what I have to say about this condition. This one is square to Uranus, so expect accidents to be in large print in the newspapers. It’s also trine Saturn so some high level talks are going on about issues that should have been discussed long ago by people in power, including heads of corporations and a political inquiry into windfall profit taxes. Mars in Taurus is near an inconjunct to Mercury which won’t happen by degree until 12-19, so the tension that’s building in these talks, and they could include international representatives, will pile to a breaking point by next month and we’ll see what the fallout is by then.

The Full Moon is near Mars in Taurus, the sign of money, values and materialism and Mars will be closer than normal, although we had a closer passage a couple years ago, when it was in Pisces and I clearly remember, since it was on my Sun! Taurus people will know what I mean, as they are running around and getting into a more assertive phase of their lives. Often, the time of year that is exactly opposite your sign is when you have the greatest number of difficulties. Perhaps the square to Saturn says it best as it advises caution and patience, the very antidote to Mars impulsivity. Don’t let your courage fade in the face of obstacles and delays, especially not like Tom DeLay, who has stonewalled and tried to destroy the judicial process all by his raging, lonesome exterminator that he was. He should take some acting classes and make some movies with Arnold, after he gets blown out of office next year. Jupiter in Libra was a time of denial and equivocation, blaming others for some of the most egregious faultfinding. This was in effect for the past year since late September of 2004. It was also in effect the year after WWII, so it is a good time to work on world peace and it was in that spirit that the UN was conceived. Now that Jupiter is in Scorpio, the truth is growing into an investigation and an excavation of the facts that led to the lies that covered up the truth in what has to be the most twisted Washington plot development since either the Iran-Contra scandal or Watergate. By the way, people are under the mistaken impression that the break-in was to steal the Dems political strategy, but it was actually to steal documentation of Nixon’s complicity in Dallas and with the Bay of Pigs. Or actually that was what was on the missing 18 minutes of tape that he erased. Forensic analysis is still attempting to decipher the missing time. Anyway, back to Jupiter in Libra…Bush has it, thus his denial of truth at every instance and the Moon on it means it runs in the family and it’s instinctive. He bluffed his way through school and everything else he’s done has been on his sheer bravado and support of his family and friends.

Election results were mostly promising, especially in California, New Jersey and Virginia, which were all big wins for the Dems. Apparently the country is sagging in the middle, because the Kansas Board of De-Education has topped the stupid list as the Religious Right scored a victory in stupid Kansas by passing an initiative favoring Intelligent Design as part of the science curriculum. I am cringing inside just saying the words. This is the party that believes in eternal life, yet thinks life begins at the moment of conception. Excuse me…life is eternal, so never begins and never ends, and is just moving through the universe on its journey back to the creator. However, good for Dover, PA, where they replaced 8 Republicans who pushed I.D. on the schools with 8 Democrats who withdrew it. Pat Robertson spits out his bile that they can stop praying to God now that they don’t want to teach I.D. This old man, he plays God, he says things that are really odd. I think he needs to be reminded of the real teachings of Jesus and he could start by reading what Thomas Jefferson wrote on the subject of education and government.

Democracy? Hypocrisy! It’s more like a theocracy! We are righting the ship of state that had been sinking only just recently, and this election helped. People are awakening from a delusional nightmare of epic idiotic proportions. Imagine the United States being governed by a Nazi version of the Marx Brothers! What they consider government is a perversity and travesty, mocking the institutions they control. It is a sad day in our country when we discover that the people in whom we place our trust have been so reckless and abusive of it. More public awareness and response to the abuses of power are necessary for us to be a self-governing nation. I say we eliminate the Electoral College and have direct elections for president since every other election works that way. A true democracy is government by the people, wherein the citizens are kept informed of the laws that are under consideration. In fact, it should be as it is in Switzerland where the people vote for or against proposed laws, like we do on ballot initiatives. Our founding fathers wanted to have a personal life and not one of full time politics, so we need to shorten congressional sessions and force the members of congress and the senate to go home and see what laws their constituents are in favor of and what they are against. It should not be religious or corporate lobbyists that have the ears of these people who make our laws, but the people who elect them!

Regarding the tax code, Mr. President? Don’t mess with taxes! Your plan for Social Security was a joke and your No Child Left Behind would have left them all back, if not for the courage of independent schools systems. I’ll bet you never even once did your own taxes, George Walker Bush. Oh, we know where you live. Maybe you and Dick Cheney need a little visit from the IRS to convince you that they are more powerful than you are. Remember it was on Income Tax Evasion that they nabbed those other big time crooks, Al Capone and Spiro Agnew. Dick Cheney should also be indicted for promoting torture of prisoners to force them to talk and also was likely behind authorization of the CIA black sites. The man is pure evil, as if his face doesn’t give it away. The policies of this administration are beyond deleterious; they are in violation of the American way of life and have the effect of destroying our effort to bring fair and beneficial democracy throughout the world. You don’t go to war to force peace.

The Army has been dumping chemicals in the oceans for decades, including mustard gas and other poisons that might have leeched out and already caused irreversible damage to the oceans. We have enough ecological disasters brewing all around the globe, including the ever-diminishing rainforest of the Amazon, where slavery is still employed, so double trouble. <Little Train of the Caipira>

Free Trade Talks had the spice of violence with Bush being the target of the anger in Argentina. All he has to do is set foot on foreign soil and we have enemies we never knew we had. All it takes is to have a president like Clinton make an appearance there, and they love us. Unfortunately, our leader reflects on us and how we are viewed, so we, as a people, have to do something about it other than cast votes in opinion polls. We have to de-elect these people who are destroying the world.
Riots in France reflect this Scorpionic explosive energy, as the disenfranchised realize they have no future, no country to call home and no prospects for any satisfying career track except revolution or jihad! How about the Nuveaux Foreign Legion Francaix? Finally Chirac has begun to impose some semblance of order with curfews and such but he needs to find some positive outlet for these people besides sending them here as a weapon of mass destruction. They need education and jobs, maybe they need to have a less lazy system of government. Maybe they need less meth and more pot.

Veterans Day was yesterday and the Congress has just terminated their 55 year-old policy of having a veteran’s delegation to address a joint session of the Armed Services Committees. It was regarding the agenda and programs that vets had available to them and what they need, just the thing this Republican congress doesn’t want to face at a time of massive cutbacks in veterans benefits and health care. Cheney was at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which was appropriate, since soldiering was unknown to him. I thought it might be one of his undisclosed locations. Bush has a lot of nerve to stand of front of men in uniform as his congress has dismantled the support and healthcare this brave men and women need. The greatest nation in the world has its military scavenging for spare parts and extra armor to fend off roadside bombs. They didn’t sign up for this kind of Army. I guess when you see the ads that promote “Be An Army of One,” it’s almost literally true. We have to do more than salute the veterans of all wars we have sent them into; we have to take care of them when they are injured in the line of duty and help them take care of their families, who have also made sacrifices to be part of the military life. These people help us defend our country and are on the front lines and this administration cuts their legs off and there goes the lifeline. We have been hobbled by the evil dictates of a tax cutting fool. He had the audacity to attack those who seek to expose his lies about getting us into war, because he’s upset at his falling poll numbers. But it’s all his fault and that of the Neo Con agenda that has caused the program to come tumbling down around his ankles, like his favorite stretched out jockey shorts.

Many Democrats are emerging from the fields in which they prospered and are entering into politics because they know someone has to make a difference in the country’s direction. Some have come from disenchanted stays in the military, like Ohio’s Paul Hackett. The problem with the American political system is that it rewards the people with the most money the most often so that you’re left with the best representation money can buy and it isn’t necessarily your money, nor your interests that have been paid for. It has been clearly expressed that the GOP is actually split into three parties with three different agendas and you can’t please all the people all the time. Toward the center, there are Fiscal Conservatives who are often social liberals who want more of their own money and less in the government’s pockets. There are the Christian Conservatives who forgot that Jesus was the most liberal man in history, the most humble and compassionate and yet they elevate themselves higher than everyone with their moral indignation that they haven’t earned because of their hypocrisy. Finally, you have what we used to term Hawks who are now called Neo Cons and they want to take over the world, economically, militarily and eventually, politically, I’m sure. They want to disband the UN and take over as the world’s governing body. Add to that the Vice President and the Secretary of Defense have a policy that favors torture to interrogate detainees. No wonder they hate us out there! Let’s drop the big one and see what happens.

Basketball season has just begun and both LA teams look vastly improved over last year, so it’s more fun to watch, but we are in the midst of a very interesting football season, as well, where the NFC team that went to the Superbowl is now in last place in its division. The reason is chemistry and in a particular instance, one player, that can turn it around, up or down. Last season was the first season with the Eagles for Terrell Owens and with the talented Donovan McNabb at QB, they went all the way to the last game of the entire season, only to go down to defeat. This year, things didn’t gel the way they did last year and Terrell took out his frustrations on everybody else, especially his QB, the guy who throws him the ball.
Terrell is apologetic for insulting his quarterback and his team and has apologized, which really doesn’t mean much as far as getting back to playing. Who would trust him? The Raiders are the only team that plucks players off the endangered species list. The Moon in Taurus in a square Jupiter in Aquarius causes him to exaggerate his feelings and over-react to stimuli. Mars opposite Uranus is the source of his incredible physical skills but Venus is square to that polarity and it produces anti-social behavior and intimacy issues. It’s hard for him to form close bonds with people, which is why he won’t stick around with any one team for long. It has to do with the Saturn square Pluto at the very depth of his masculinity and it could also be fear of not being the man, so he overcompensates by being very much the man as Sagittarius is the sign of overcompensation. When I look at his chart and see the progressions, I understand why he has anger and impatience issues along about now…his Moon’s in Taurus and that’s where Mars is right now, plus his progressed Mars nears his natal Moon and his progressed Moon is conjunct his minor Mars. Plus, his minor Moon is in Aries right now, so everything points to subconscious anger issues. With Saturn near his South Node, he does have immaturity issues and needs to grow up and learn all those Saturn words and incorporate them into his vocabulary and life. Maybe TO needs to smoke some pot…or he’s this way because league rules prohibit reefer. The man needs his medicine! Please, let TO play while stoned, Mr. Commissioner. It will give the other teams a chance in hell to catch him. He won’t showboat as much under the influence…or will he let it all hang out? You never know.

11-12 Neil Young has been to the extremes of life and death, as he has his Moon in opposition to Pluto and has seen the needle and the damage done. When you understand his chart, you can see why he wrote some of the songs he did. His Sun is in a trine to Saturn in Cancer, which explains his enduring career and maturing creative style. Venus trines the North Node, so people like him and so did some who could positively influence his development. His grand trine is his Moon in Aquarius, so always had friends, trine to Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Gemini, which further expands the effect of friends and it improves his mood when he’s around more people. Mercury in Sag with the Moon in a sextile could attribute some affect on the name Crazy Horse as does the Mercury opposite Uranus, which is often the questioner and wants to know everything. Moon opposite Pluto could create a dark side emotionally and while very passionate, can go beyond to obsession and is prone to revenge when trying to right a wrong. With Venus in Scorpio in a square to Mars, he may have had some significant clashes in his dealings with people but having Venus square Saturn, as well, he had some issues with trust and respect of others, which could be why he was with several different bands until he formed one of his own.

He had more of a chart that reflects a learned man and a professor of Medical Surgery. It’s the Sun/Mars in Scorpio and the Mercury/Moon in Sag in a sextile to Saturn. But Saturn opposes Pluto and squares the nodes, so a professional career with the respect of an authoritarian hierarchy was not for him. He much preferred the freedom of doing his own thing.
Charles Manson wanted to be a singer and songwriter but his crap was too dark for the times and his rejection became the impetus for revenge, the favorite Scorpio weapon.
Grace Kelly, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, Rodin, Stephanie Powers, Megan Mulally also crowd into this one birthday.

11-13 Whoopi Goldberg is more than an actress or comedienne; she is an icon in the world of entertainment. She has her Sun conjoined by Saturn on the one side and the Moon on the other, so has an androgynous quality is some respects. Her Mercury squares Uranus, so she makes shit up, which is fine for a comedian, but not for politicians like Rice and Beans, I refer to Condi and mean Dick Cheney. Whoopi has Neptune square Chiron, so she had a problem with the drugs a while back, but she broke her addiction and transformed her life like a good Scorpio can. Saturn square Jupiter/Pluto might have set up a difficult father scenario. The conjunction of the biggest and smallest planets means she would want to reach a large audience and have a positive life-transforming effect on them. When she read The Color Purple, she told the director she would play the floor to be in it and ended up playing the lead. With Aquarius rising and being a double Scorpio, it isn’t easy to get into her inner circle, as friends are few and rare for her. Venus on the MC confers fame and fortune but not always success in marriage or relationships in general. It is trine Uranus, so friendship is certainly a quality prized in a partner.

When you peer into his chart, there is no evidence of Gemini, hence J & H isn’t about two faces or dual personalities as much as it is other things echoed in his chart. From the Aquarius South Node on his ASC, it is likely seen as the misuse of science on the physical body, as in using oneself as the guinea pig. Secondly, it depicts the murderous and psychologically damaged subconscious as indicated by his Sun/Mars in Scorpio inconjunct Uranus, a rather unpredictable passion that erupts quite suddenly. His Moon in Pisces conjoined to Neptune increases the imagination and allows it to understand the dark and the light of the soul. Moon square Chiron reveals a wounded mother and creates unhealthy relationship models especially of women. Emotional needs are played out in adventurous fantasies, since with Saturn opposite Jupiter, it seemed his freedom was limited by his responsibilities. Mercury in Scorpio trine Moon/Neptune makes for a depth and insight into the psyche, while tapping into the dreams and imagination of many young people.

Condoleeza Rice is torn between two masters…the president and the public she allegedly serves. She should be very worried, since if her past was uncovered and all the lies found out, she’d be led to slaughter along with the rest of the Bush cabal.

She’s got her Sun exactly conjoining Venus retrograde, but they are square to Pluto, so you have an attractive, emotionally cold and corrupt bitch who will stab you in the back as soon as look at you. She is an obsessive control freak, as her Saturn is also in Scorpio in a wide conjunction with her Sun. Her Mercury, as well, is Scorpio and conjoining Neptune, which makes her so good at deception and fantastic stories, made even bolder by the square to Jupiter, the aspect of the liar. 11-17James Inhofe has been in the Senate for just over a decade but is one of the most extreme conservatives in either house of government. Since I don’t want to just bash on his personality or positions without astrological justification, it’s a good thing the planets back me up on my assessments. First off, he has his Sun exactly conjunct Venus, so can be a charming and pleasant person, when he chooses and to whom he is inclined to favor. The problem is that they are in a close square to Saturn, the planet of reality, with which he is apparently unfamiliar. This aspect plays into a feeling of not being loved or appreciated as well as fostering insecurity, fear, frustration, manipulation and control issues. Sun/Venus trine Pluto is his order to bring other people’s money into his campaigns without any difficulty, except when questionable financing comes into question, as it will at some point. His Moon is in the arrogant sign of Aries with no aspects to anything, so lacks any sort of sensitivity or earthly attunement, just like his colleague, Ted Stevens. Mars is conjunct Neptune, so he wields religion as a weapon and has such faith that he doesn’t believe in global warming, calling it a hoax, and praying that it’s just a distraction sent from the left to sway voters away from his party with rational logic. In fact, his Mercury not only squares the nodes, showing his thinking to be out of harmony with his evolutionary journey, it also shows him to be uninformed, misinformed or malformed from birth. He is a threat to the delicate balance of the Earth’s eco-system and we have to get him out of the Senate when the 2008 election comes up.

11-18 Owen Wilson is the only famous person I wanted to do who was born today because he’s an exact Sun/Neptune conjunction and they trine Chiron in Pisces and sextile Pluto and Jupiter, which straddle the Virgo/Libra cusp. Oppressive dominance is expressed in his Libra Mars/Saturn. Venus inconjunct Pluto could mean sleazy underhanded backroom double-dealing with other people’s money, namely taxpayer’s, since he’s on the appropriations committee. This is why he’s on a lot of people’s shit lists. His secrets and lies will come out before the next election and since he’s been there 36 years, it makes you want to have term limits for senators. I’m sure the other side is tired of Teddy Kennedy but now we have Barack Obama and he’ll eventually kick a lot of GOP ass. Who will stand up to Stevens in Alaska, I wonder? His Mars/Saturn opposing Chiron shows his anger issues and intolerance of other’s priorities and desires. In the wake of an election, it’s easier to see the shift of the country to a more sensible method of governance. Less vitriol, and fewer negative campaigns are what the American people want as well as greater accountability. With the Full Moon in Taurus, it’s about time politicians realize that we have always voted with our wallets and even ideology will be overcome by the sheer weight of physical evidence against all of the lies. This is the two-headed dragon that has to be slain by the invention of bio-fuels that are clean burning. Surely, even conservatives who are originalists should be in support of something our founding fathers commanded Americans to grow; hemp! We could put America back to work and feed the hungry, gas the cars we build from the plants and use the medicine to heal us while wearing the clothes we manufacture from it. Competition used to be the American way but when too many industries were going to be affected, they conspired to lobby for prohibition of marijuana so they could squash hemp. With enough sensible people in congress, we could change things for the good of everyone, clean up the planet and end dependence on foreign oil. We can then withdraw from all things Middle Eastern and restore some sovereignty to our own nation and let them have their own. Scorpio is a time for privacy and internal churnings that lead to psychological insights and flow into proactive results. I would so like to comment at length on the significance of death and rebirth and the evolutionary forces of nature as we progress from one life to another on an ever-evolving wheel of karmic life. Unfortunately, it seems the federal government has been taking its dictates from religious lobby groups that have impressed the fear of God and funding for many congressmen and senators. They have driven out civil discourse and debate and made laws by preaching about what is best for people to live by, instead of the people being able to determine their own fates and laws or even afford to live. The money the Church raises now goes to political coffers instead of feeding the hungry and housing the poor, opening up soup kitchens and food banks and distributing surplus foods to the starving people of this country. I suppose you could consider them anti-evolutionists, since God doesn’t deny that He created the Big Bang that began the universe, as we know it. We have been the result of an infinitely long experiment that is ongoing and so far, many people are getting stuck in the maze of Earth’s reality and the dogmas that follow organized anything, be it religion, government or even housing communities. Today’s grand cross is a small indication of the challenges we face today…Sun opposite Mars square Saturn opposite Neptune, so we go to war because of deception by those in power.

It is going to be Veteran’s Day and I want to see what actually happens on Friday before talking about the situation that has been going on with veterans of this current war, how they have been charged for the government’s faulty, antiquated payroll system, as well as other errors. The Avian Flu Pandemic is a hoax, dreamed up by Karl Rove and GWB to strike fear into the hearts of Americans and give another pharmaceutical company a great chance to make more money, since there is only one patent on the Tamiflu. However, Taiwan just cloned the formula and may trade with us, as if they don’t have the desperate need themselves. There are limited opportunities for Americans to catch bird flu unless they are bird farmers or ranchers who handle contaminated birds. Most of the infections were in China and Southeast Asia by bird farmers, so this is another attempt to lie and distort the facts to make a case to be afraid. If you thought Saddam had WMD’s then you can believe the rumors about bird flu. It’s that simple.

Here we are dying of economic malnourishment and they want to make us pay for another expensive vaccine we may never need. The trickle up economy has caused all these poor people to lose income and benefits while increasing profits for corporations, including the pharmaceuticals. However, oil company prices have been artificially inflated for most of Bush’s term and his oily friends are getting even more filthy rich. This is why the house tried to stop them with a profit restraining order but failed along party lines. So if you people want to know who’s making you spend more and save less and who will take away your tax deductions to pay for their dirty war? The Republiscams! Over a hundred and fifty billion dollars have been wasted on this war and more than 2000 dead doesn’t even begin to describe the toll in human lives damaged. The more damaging may be those who live and are either so badly wounded that they wish they didn’t survive, which brings down their family as well. Or is it the soldier who was part of the torture, rape and murder of detainees and was never caught as part of the sting? They are damaged beyond anyone else being able to discern or fathom. Why is there something strangely wrong about that particular vet? What did you do in the war, daddy? If I told you, they would shoot me in front of a firing squad and you would have already been scarred for life by what I told you.

Rove is the minister of dirty tricks and cheap shot political attack ads, so controls the agitprop and spreads the lies and rumors and innuendoes about the Democrats. If it ever came out that Rove was getting corn-holed by Jeff Gannon in some White House office, it would be fun to see.

To deflect scrutiny from the Scooter Libby resignation over the indictments, Bush sidestepped discussing the nomination withdraw of Harriet Miers and sent in the name of an ultra conservative who, others vow, will strike down abortions rights. Before I go into an analysis of Alito’s chart, I have to say that the religious right is harping on privacy issues and personal lifestyle choices that are moralistic decisions, not legal or ethical problems. The government has no business being in your bedroom and what you do in your house that doesn’t hurt or affect anyone else personally is not to be made an into an issue. If religious people want to use their faith as a moral compass, that’s fine but do not impose your beliefs onto others who are not of your faith. Religion can lead the way to a moral high ground, but you can’t shoot at those who haven’t found their way out of the valley of the shadow of death. The only governments that can legislate morality are theocracies like Islamic countries, Indonesia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan and many others use the laws of their religion to keep the people in line.

Our constitution is a pretty amazing document to have withstood two hundred plus years of ever-evolving laws, business developments, religious influence, fashion trends and social mores. What was then a legal and worthy trade or personal taste would now get you jailed, imprisoned, castrated and worse these days. They put your personal information out into cyberspace for everyone to see what kind of person you are, with everything disgusting you ever did laid bare for the world to see. That’s what Republicans do to people who don’t cooperate. In order that one party doesn’t get too much power, there is a system of checks and balances that forces sides to play fair. When Harry Reid, the Senate Minority Leader, called a closed session of congress, it was because the White House had lied about so many things that it was time for them to find out what they didn’t know and why they didn’t know it and who held it from them under whose orders. It’s time to investigate why we went to Iraq instead of finishing the job in Afghanistan. It’s no wonder they had to do something drastic after Scooter failed to reveal any truth whatsoever. This is why the White House puts up a far right anti-abortionist judge for distraction.

The purpose of living in the world of flesh is to experience the other side of spirit life, where temptations to go down the dark path of material corruption await at every turn. We are given multiple opportunities to improve our condition on that spiritual path but far too many fall off to the point where they give up believing in the true faith of eternal light and seek out a rigid morally limiting construct to narrowly define their purpose. This is not the potential of humanity, to be limited by religious dogmas and confines that restrict the life force of knowledge and wisdom that need to be freed from conservative restraints. We have a far greater potential when not governed by fear of eternal damnation, which was never really a part of the bargain with God. He never said, to accept him as your God or you will be eternally damned, nor did Jesus ever utter those words. They are the creations of the most vile and extreme fear-mongers that ever plagued the Church. They were Inquisitors. Those who have negative manifestations of Sagittarius with negative aspects to Mars often have been either involved with the Spanish Inquisition or the Imperial Japanese Military forces.

Bush has such a connection with his South Node is Sag and Mars in a square to it. How much more negativity can one have there? He’s a troubled man because as a Cancer conservative, he’s trying to hold on to the past and having Uranus on the North Node, is impelled to jump ahead into a future that is not ready to exist yet in his utopian vision of a perfect world, where there are no poor people and everybody has personal security plans that they are in charge of, since the government is the poorest accountant of them all. Another issue is excessive behavior and extreme reaction to circumstances that are beyond his control. He actually doesn’t think much about anything and then about too much, as I believe he has ADD and has been undiagnosed all this time, in addition to being a dry drunk. Neptune and Jupiter in the 3rd makes for a mind that wanders all over the place and he needs someone who can keep his mind focused on simple phrases he can repeat over and over so he doesn’t go into a total brain freeze. This is where Karl Rove has come in handy, as the dirty trick czar who has kept the message simple for the simpleton he has to program. Contrary to the RRR’s depiction of the American Liberal as a sodomite Communist, most liberals aren’t into anal sex and are too individualistic to fall in line behind a dictator who forces them to all work in factories, collective farms or as Secret Police. It’s just the inbreeding of religion and politics that has laid that battle line scenario out. It doesn’t have to be an either-or proposition, either.

In a country where many religions thrive, one tries to pull out in front with the plea for the almighty dollar from unsuspecting viewers of televangelist preachers, a scam as old as the church itself. There has always been an uneasy coexistence between militaristic monarchies or imperialistic dynasties and some Church or another. These so-called Christians sell out to the highest bidder and trivialize what spirituality is all about. Their ringing endorsements of God’s blessing for the faithful are hypocritical pleadings for your extra money to pad their fat wallets and propel them directly to Satan, for all their indulgence, but they are sinning and grinning all the way to the bank. Religion has changed throughout history and it has been often observed that if Jesus returned today, he would be extremely disappointed, even angry to the point of what he did to the money-changers of the temple. Commerce does not exist in God’s realm and is not the plight of a spiritual being. Materiality is a construct made by civilization forged from the domination of the Roman Empire. It’s strange for such an overpopulated country to be so obsessed with reproductive rights. It’s also strange how some states see fit to legislate what others won’t, as in Alaska saying it’s okay for gays to marry but the state of New York has a problem with the town of New Paltz taking vows less straight than the rest of the state. Why should they control your sex life and reproductive rights while the public suffers from lack of corporate regulation? What affects the public good more than commerce? Certainly not a person’s sex life! The Republicans rule commerce while the Dems rule the conscience of the country. Commerce is brutal and not in tune with the religion these hypo-Christians say they are. They don’t really follow the teachings of Jesus.

So, what kind of morality is there when 11.4% of the population goes hungry in the richest country in the world and in the home state of the president, 16% are starving, either malnourished or eating far less than their daily minimum requirement of caloric intake. Those who get enough calories are eating the worst kind of foods that cause diabetes and clog the arteries, such as fried foods and heavy starches and with no President’s Council on Youth Physical Fitness that JFK started, which no president since has taken up, it’s hard to see America as the fittest nation in the world. Our collective body mass index is off the chart and if we could live off the fat of each other, there would be enough fuel to power every car for a trip around the Indy 500 racetrack. I’m only really guessing at that, since there would be no way of figuring out how much human fat can be converted into fuel of any kind, let alone to power an internal combustion engine. It would also be nice to be able to use your farts to power your car, as in the beans get you places you’ve never been before. Beans and rice together make a complimentary protein but have to be eaten with other nutritious plant foods to balance the system and give it the proper spectrum of nutrients, protein and fiber.

If you don’t eat right, you die. It’s really as simple as that. Of course, it depends on what else you do, as any actuarial in the insurance business will tell you. The causes of death are all properly defined in accordance with strict statistical adherence to a business code of ethics that allows insurance companies to make you pay for what you may never need. It’s just in case you die that you get this windfall of money, except in the case of suicide. They won’t pay you to kill yourself. That’ll cost you big, karmically, too. But wouldn’t you like to explore more and go places you’ve never been, both on Earth and with someone close. There are many fish in the sea, for now and they are all different but there are some that are similar to others.

There are so many things you should know that you need to know that certain government agencies are preventing you from knowing that the freedom of information act is an absolute irony. Part of it is the current administration decreasing public programs and services to pay for their illegal and immoral war in Iraq. It is bankrupting this country and making it harder on the middle class and poor to eke out a survivor’s chance in hell. The poverty issue seems to have disappeared with the other programs of mass distraction after Katrina. Bush having more disasters to follow fast on the heels of the previous ones means he doesn’t have to consider the scale of the calamity he’s created. Every new emergency requires focus and attention in the moment, which also distracts the media from follow through on all the important issues. It’s time to type so let’s have some music to type by.

Let’s take a look at the interesting people I will examine and some less so to use for reference.

She is staying back from the battle lines over his initiatives, since she doesn’t agree with them, as most liberals wouldn’t. Sun square Moon can be an identity crisis in one’s life and being so famous from so young, there’s likely some damage from the average person’s perspective, but nothing she can’t deal with because she is a strong woman. I suppose her Moon and Uranus on Arnold’s Sun is something of an attraction and connection on both emotional and friendship levels. With Venus/Juno in Sag, she has always valued international relations, since it runs in the family and the square it makes to Jupiter/Pluto would be the bad choices in intimate relationships she can make. It can also mean that many people who were close to her have died. With 4 planets in Leo, she has more in that sign than Arnold does! They do have a Sun/Venus conjunction in their composite, a Moon/Neptune in Libra, and Mars/Pluto in Leo, as well as Mercury on the Virgo South Node. You can be married to a person of the other party but you have to agree to disagree. So I wonder if there is hope for Bill Maher and Ann Coulter?

Sally Field is a great actress who has won an Oscar but who many of us remember for having been The Flying Nun on TV in the 60’s. Sun/Jupiter made comedy easy but it squares Saturn/Pluto, so she went deeper. It may be that he wasn’t even aware of his wife’s true career, as many keep secrets from their own spouse. Still, with these aspects and his suspicious Scorpio Sun square Pluto would have figured it out quickly enough. With Neptune on the Libra South Node, he’s easily swept away by love and Valerie has Moon and Venus in Pisces, so he was captivated. And as an Aries, she shares the Martian energy with her husband. They have a Sun/Venus composite conjunction, and Mars/Pluto in Leo, so have a good relationship going. Her chart seems to bear out what her role was and that she would be outed is certainly there when you dig deeply enough. Her career was ruined two years ago by non-elected GOP operatives appointed to White House positions due to their extreme right wing nature and loyalty to the head honchos of the Neo Cons. Scooter studied at the feet of his teacher Wolfowitz and Rove has been the Bush’s propaganda minister for over 15 years. They had an agenda to go to war in the Middle East and gain a foothold in Iraq after toppling Saddam and used it to control all the oil fields. What a play they thought they had! Joe thought he had better make sure they were lying about the Niger Uranium and present that to the American people and after he did, they outed his wife and the cover operation that had taken years to set up right. Apparently, Scooter, Cheney, Rove and company felt the CIA was undermining their plans to go to war under false claims because the truth would come out and they knew it since they are the Intelligence Agency. Bush has no intelligence because when he said it was good intel, it was the opposite. Somehow, the people who voted for Republicam congressmen need to call their reps and tell them to side with the Dems in all upcoming votes, just to upset the balance of power. This is what happens when a president lies us into a war and it forces a guy to go to Africa to find out what was really going on.

11-7 Billy Graham - With his Sun conjoining Venus, he is filled with love and wants to share that passion with others. Since it’s in a square to Neptune, it’s the religious fervor that deludes the sense out of him. Then there’s the Mercury in squares to the opposition of Saturn and Uranus. The Saturn square shows a slow learner who’s rigid in his thinking and overly structured out of fear. And Mercury square Uranus is making shit up out of the blue. Condi Rice and Dick Cheney have this aspect, too. Well, when the truth is not what you want to hear, make stuff up! His Moon and Mars conjoin in Sag, the same as Saddam Hussein, so there’s a passion for leading sheep to slaughter, just as Bush and Cheney are doing to the world. Reverend Graham has his Moon and Mars square to Chiron, showing deeply wounded emotions and physical energy. This would be the angry mother, who would beat up on his ass when he was young, always wanting him to do things for her or give him advice, which he didn’t want, since he already thought he knew it all, anyway. Here we have a Gemini South Node, the opposite of Bush, so you have a person who has dabbled in everything and now recognizes the urge to teach and preach what he thinks he has learned as far as wisdom is concerned. But his Mercury T-Cross don’t really make him all that tuned into the higher planes of consciousness. Somehow, though, his understanding of what Jesus taught has slipped into the rigid, narrowly defined interpretation of the bible where we don’t have free will anymore, a sin if there ever was one.

Helene Grimaud is a marvelous pianist with Mars in Aquarius trine Uranus for the incredible energy to play piano at the professional level. Moon/Uranus in Libra gives her natural rhythm and Jupiter/Venus gives her a generous heart and ability to make a lot of money and share it with others, including animals. With North Node in Pisces, she is opening her soul to compassion, spirituality and acceptance of the inevitable. Mars square Saturn makes for frustrated sexual energy. Loosen up Ma Belle Helene.

Joni Mitchell is a great singer-songwriter with her Moon in Pisces, has always sung with her heart on her sleeve, in a self-analytical way. Her Moon in Pisces opposite Venus in Virgo squared by Mars and Saturn scream toxic waste dump along with irritability, insecurity, anger, impatience and not knowing what she really needs, herself.

Rebecca Stamos is a beautiful and sexy model/actress and her Venus in on Pluto, giving her powerful sexual appeal and an investor’s dream. Her Moon/Neptune/Mercury in Sag is like getting high on a Friday night almost ritually. Her Mars/Uranus trine Saturn makes for a good athlete or dancer and only needs to be outfitted or trained to do any variety of other fields requiring her body.

11-8 Courtney Thorne-Smith deserves a medal for enduring one of the more obnoxious actors in show biz, Jim Belushi. Obviously, he never heard of maintaining any kind of health regime. He’s let go and yet, she’s hot for 38. She’s done soaps and Ally McBeal and another sitcom, I think. She can handle change and has the disposition for television with her Moon in Aquarius and Venus conjunct Uranus and Pluto, reaching the masses through electronic media. Her strength comes from her Sun sextile Mars and Moon sextile Saturn, so has a handle on masculine energy fairly well. Mercury retrograde sextile Jupiter is the ability to play for laughs, so I wonder if she left soaps because she wanted to joke around and they needed to stay serious that it was like they were living their character’s melodramatic lives. Mars square Saturn shows clashes with her father and Venus opposite Chiron always attracting the bad boys to piss off her old man. And perhaps because of her Sun square Moon there’s an identity crisis that breaks her with traditions and trends.

11-9 Carl Sagan was the astronomer and scientist that talked of the billions and billions of galaxies that each had billions and billions of stars and that there were likely to be some life forms out there because of the sheer odds. Many Scorpios go into scientific research fields, if they aren’t investment bankers, prostitutes or murderers, uh, just kidding. Scorpio deals with probing the unknown and doing the detective work to find the signs that explain why things are as they are. He has four planets in this deep, penetrating sign, with Moon in Sag, the sign of long distance travel, trine to Uranus and both sextile Saturn in Aquarius. Mercury opposes Uranus, being a struggle to know what his mind considered possible, but his craving was for more evidence than was available to him at the time.

Spiro Agnew is going into my Political Dartboard so let’s look at this creep. Sun/Venus squares Neptune, so right there you have the reason he succeeded and failed all in one aspect…almost. Mercury in Sag is square the opposition of Saturn to Uranus, as he regularly offered his wise-guy opinion with negativity and scorn, often with deliberate alliteration to remind us of his South Node in Gemini. His Moon is in Capricorn opposite Jupiter in Cancer, so he needed to be more honest and generous to the American people. Instead, he called some, “nattering nabobs of negativism.” Mars square Chiron shows issues with anger and patience. Mercury square Saturn could be a fear-monger.

11-10 Richard Burton was one of the great actors of the mid-twentieth century although he was plagued by alcoholism and an addiction to Liz Taylor, who would have driven most men to drink back in those days. Chiron and Mars squared his Hygeia and Nodes, so he was chronically sick, even if, behind it is his own self-hatred and anger towards his father. 11-11 Among our distinguished astrological chart analysis subjects is the esteemed senator from California, Barbara Boxer. Her birthday being Veteran’s Day makes her sympathetic to the military volunteers who have risked their lives and some who have lost theirs. Boxer has the South Node in Aries with her Moon there, so has always had some fight in her and with her Libra North Node graced by the presence of Venus, she appeals to those who are fair and appreciate the harmony of civil discourse. She was born in the Year of the Dragon in 1940 and looks great for a senior citizen, but it also means she was born the year Jupiter conjoined Saturn in Taurus and squared Pluto to start the conflagration that was WWII. She is also blessed with the insight of Uranus trine Neptune so her spiritual understanding comes directly from the source without need of an intermediary, as many spiritual people are accustomed to experiencing. Her progressed Sun and Mercury trine Jupiter/Saturn from Capricorn, so this is an empowering and insightful time for her, wherein her book is now in print and is proving to be prophetic or even prescient. On a personal note, I want to relate to a rebirth experience of my own, as a fit of food poisoning or 24 hour flu shocked some creative juices flowing in the right direction. We each go through cleansing experiences that help us grow towards awareness of what needs to be eliminated or have more care taken with it. A couple days later, my son got a stomach virus of some sort and puked his guts out through the night and with each of us, it was nothing that we had never eaten before, just the same place, same stuff, but different nights. I see it as part of the Scorpio purge that flushes the system from time to time as we all need to clean out the shit and start afresh. Near as I can see, Moon opposed my Jupiter and Venus squared my Moon. Neptune square Mars took the energy out of me and actually has for a while.
