Today is Bastille Day in France, commemorating the storming of the fortress-prison to free their leaders who had been illegally taken into custody for speaking out against a corrupt government. It would be as though the people of America went to a federal penitentiary to release Al Gore and Michael Moore for speaking out against the administration and the corporatacracy that is destroying our planet and our people. Comparisons to today are relevant in France, where they still take to the streets in great masses to protest policies and demand greater rights for the people. Back in the 60’s, Americans took to the streets to protest an illegal war started on false pretenses and escalated by two presidents who were tied into the military-industrial complex. We must understand history or we are destined to repeat it again and again until we have wiped our human presence from the face of the Earth.

It’s a New Moon today in the sign that governs history and when this century has been past for a while, they’ll look back and say how idiotic our nation was under this administration; that we would have endured such abuses after having this very scenario laid out in the Orwell classic, 1984. These clowns make up history all the time, as if the American people were stupid or can’t remember what they learned in school. Oh well, so most of the fools who follow Paris, Britney and Lindsay are mindlessly following the infotainment that passes for news. We have to be able to see past the propaganda and discern the truth for ourselves because the mainstream media won’t give it to you. When truth-tellers stand up against a stacked deck or a loaded gun, you have to root for them, not jump on their case for speaking out against the lies that have made people fall into the role of victims in this global war on the middle class. War is designed to drain the surplus and the future by taxing the workers and their children, which contributes to an endless cycle of poverty. Crazy president that we have, he thinks throwing money into making more blood flow in the sands of the Iraqi desert is the best use of our resources. What happens if we leave? They will have their hands full trying to sort out how to run a country and have less time to kill each other. Despite all the bullshit from Bush, Al-Qaeda is not prevalent in Iraq but they have been building up on the Afghan-Pakistani border. Our partner in the war on terror, Musharraf, has been more of a hindrance than an ally, as he’s done zip to track down Osama.

Gas prices have gone up again because of the Kansas oil spill in last week’s flooding and now guerillas in Mexico blow up oil and gas pipelines in retaliation for some of their members being unlawfully detained by the right wing regime there…they call them leftist because they are for social democracy and better lives for the people, in all likelihood. Crude slime is mucking up the environment and has raised the danger to a higher level than normal because of the repercussive effects of its impact. Cancer-producing toxins are caused by oil refineries and that could be eliminated if we were to convert to a more natural energy supply. Even natural fuels, such as ethanol or bio-diesel, have their flaws in the refining process but it’s the unwillingness of Detroit to switch to clean technology. The ultimate answer would eliminate the oil companies and refineries if we go into production of solar electric cars. I can imagine Rockefeller rolling over in his grave, having been the first billionaire, whose fortune was made from establishing Standard Oil, the first oil company. It isn’t as though oil can’t be used now and in the future to make plastics and other petroleum based materials, but the era of using is as a fuel has to end. We are killing ourselves and our planet by the continual use of such a destructive poison as gasoline and its oily source. Only when we eliminate those from our fuel supply will we be on the path to environmental redemption. Leave it in the ground for the future and who knows what can happen!

We could all have everything we need if the world were not governed by greed, as everything we need to sustain our civilization is here on the planet we call home. Powerful forces hold back the opportunities for the less fortunate or less endowed to succeed in life, owing to the desire to eliminate competition, the very thing necessary for a healthy and successful species. We want to have so many things because we are programmed to want things we don’t need instead of examining what our true needs are. If you think about it astrologically, your needs are represented by the Moon, ruler of Cancer, so this should be the time to determine what they really are for you as an individual. What do you need? Food, shelter and some protection against the elements would be the essential requirements for existence and survival but for most people that’s not enough. They want more so they have to work longer for what they want but end up going into debt because the credit card companies have been given a pass to charge whatever they want, as federal regulations protecting Americans have diminished to virtually nothing during these past 7 years of Bush World. It makes me burning mad!

The west is burning up with wildfires and scorching what is left of our open lands. Federal agencies like the BLM are the caretakers of this land and have been selling it off and leasing rights to the oil, gas and minerals below the ground and the trees above in such as way as to rip-off the American people of commissions and destroy the beautiful lands that were deemed sacrosanct by Teddy Roosevelt a hundred years ago. We have a great land and this president and his demonic forces of evil have been marauding and plundering the very country they claim to love. I’m sorry, but love of country is not something you state with a flag lapel pin and words of patriotic spin. You love your country by taking care of the land and its people, making it into the greatest country in the world…all over again.

The sign of the crab is about food and nutrition and the industry that provides sustenance and most of the substance of American meals is processed and manufactured in ways that remove most of the quality nutrients. Some foods are mineral deficient because the soil has been depleted of things like Selenium, which is necessary in trace quantities but toxic in large doses. This happens when the same crops are planted in the same patch year after year. Further problems come from deadly toxicity built up from chemical fertilizers and pesticides over years. Caring for people means safeguarding the food chain and making sure what we eat is free from poisons, unlike China. It’s really ironic that Bush keeps saying he’s trying to protect the American people when he’s only trying to help his friends. It’s in his chart, of course, as his Uranus on the NN in the 11th makes his future tied to that of his associates, so that when he is forced out of office, his friends will take care of him because of all the money he’s made for them.

History and the past are Cancerian and if we were hunter-gatherers, we wouldn’t have pollutants and chemicals that have destroyed our waterways, oceans, mountains and valleys. Nobody really wants to return to those days of yesteryear, although I can see distinct advantages to it from a variety of perspectives. Time doesn’t reverse and we have far too many remnants of the toxic world we live in today. However difficult it might be, we have to rethink the future. We try to protect our kids so there will be a continuation of the species but we worry about their survival and want to save them from some unknown horror. Even if we could predict our children's fate, there are some things that are going to happen, no matter what we say and they won't always listen to us, anyway. We can only guide them to the best of our ability and teach them to handle themselves in most situations. If we prepare them for life, they will be better able to take on all obstacles. Cancer is a time of family and the concerns we have for others but we can't let our personal feelings infect how we see the world and the planets. Likewise, it is also true that our objectivity when analyzing the planets needs to be dispassionate and detached, hence the rulership of Uranus over astrology. You can't know everything about how your child will live or how they will die. Life and death are the two sides of life's coin. In fact, Cancer is one sign that has much to do with both, as it is the gestational period in the womb that begins the life cycle and the Moon rules the end of life because, ultimately, we have to go home.

The evil that these men do cannot be allowed to live on after them. The good people of America and in congress must hold them accountable and impeach the lying bastards who hold such contempt for our country, that they should be held in contempt of congress. There have been more calls for impeachment as these political matters are sorted out but you can trace the rise of the anti-administration sentiment to when I predicted the beginning of the downfall of this presidency; the end of May, when Jupiter squared Uranus and Saturn came back into the opposition with Neptune. It may well come to a head at the end of the year, when Saturn conjoins Bush’s Mars and stations right on it! He will be stopped! It comes back to the same point next year in August, when he’s on vacation or goes to prison but it also could cause an accident with this aspect. Maybe he’ll cut a body part off while clearing brush. It would be nice for the chainsaw to slip and slit his throat from ear to ear. That would end that smirking monkey face of his.

His support for war among fellow Republicans is slipping into darkness, as a dozen have been wavering and seven have now voted with the Democrats for the Webb bill. The ladies of Maine, Snow and Collins, two slimy guys with no balls, gutless Gordon Smith of OR and Norm Coal-man, the war veterans Hagel and Warner and slippery Sununu whose seat will be hotly contested by a ready Democratic resurgence in New Hampshire. Wavering is Lugar of Indiana, a really red state and a few others, which might be enough to get this guy to move troops out by fall and home by next year. Lies about what has been happening there abound as the administration keeps painting a rosy, wait-for-more-results kind of picture when the reality of it is such a dismal failure in every way imaginable. The delusions are apparent by looking at the architects of this scandal; Cheney, Rove and Bush are all heavily delusional with strong Neptune squares or oppositions. Bush has Sun square Neptune, which is as personally delusional as you get. Rover has Moon exactly square Neptune showing his food addiction and confusion of history and Mercury retrograde square Neptune which reveals the repeating pattern of deceptive communications. He also has Venus in Capricorn square Neptune as well opposing Moon, expressing a lack of compassion or understanding of the female sex. Cheney has the Moon in Pisces opposite Neptune for the deception but Mars squares his Moon, which is why he’s so irritable all the time and is rude and curt with questions that he’s hiding from. Bush’s tenacity, while a hallmark of Cancer, is destructive of American resources, while he accuses congress of not supporting the troops, saying that some in congress want our troops out now. Excuse me, but he’s so out of touch with the reality that 70% of the American people want our fighting men and women home now! The money that has allegedly gone to funding our troops has instead gone primarily to contractors who are almost as numerous as our volunteer military…and they make way more money providing security and other things our military used to do but without any accountability.

Iraq is falling apart as there have been no benchmarks met by the lazy and squabbling Iraqi government and changing the policy on the place was the reason the country elected Democrats to congress. Granted, we still need to win big in next year’s election in order to set things straight and even then, it’ll take decades to undo the damage to our government and our environment and our populace and our international relations that this current bunch of Nazis has created. One Democrat who just won last fall, Jim Webb of VA, has proposed an amendment that would have our troops home for longer than the current three weeks between deployments…it failed. It doesn’t matter what anyone says to them, this cabal wants to maintain a foothold in the region, which is why they invaded in the first place. Of course, the American people have not read the PNAC mission statement so they don’t know why we have been victimized by a systemized downsizing of the American will to stand tall in the international market. Iraq is just the pants around the ankles of the administration and needs to be resolved before a new administration has to come in and straighten everything out. If we want peace in our time, then Kucinich is the guy, as it may well come to pass that the liberal lefties have heard enough of caving into the creeps who crouch in hiding behind executive privilege where no precedent for it exists. After all the evidence that has exposed the truth, Bush still lies about ties between Saddam and Al-Qaeda. He can’t seem to get anything right. Rattling sabers about Iran is insane as they are still in the age of stoning, having sentenced an adulterer to be stoned to death. How can anyone be afraid of them?

Hate-filled Rightie talkers are talking about re-instituting the fairness doctrine and no one on the left is advocating it. It’s a media control-issue and they just don’t get it because they are so far from the pulse of the American people! Corporate America supports conservative talk in such a way that 90% of political talk on the public airwaves is right wing. There are two small liberal networks operating in a sea of hate merchants and lie spewers who demonize liberals and denigrate Democrats. All they have are talking points from the White House and their list of insults and invectives to abuse their enemy with hypnotized minds spewing programmed delusions and they’ll never face the truth because it hurts too much. They don’t want to admit that the source of the problem is American interventionism and has been a gurgling source of potential eruption since they installed the Shah of Iran in 1953, Nixon’s first incursion and destabilization. These people can’t stand the thought of a nation of free-thinking liberals who speak truth to power to keep them as representatives of the people. Yet, sitting behind the microphone of that very freedom of speech, they broadcast such venomous lies and character assassinations that in earlier times it would have been declared slanderous, despite their own scandalous actions. Such is the case of people like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh, who aren’t so much political commentators as they are distractions and disinformation disseminators and whose dismissal of Democrats demands a demonstration of their demonic dispositions. They hate the very thing they accuse liberals of hating; freedom!

Meanwhile, the free speech and entertainment independents were dealt a blow when the royalty rates went up and blew away mom and pop off the Internet airwaves. I ask no money for what I do so it isn’t a commercial operation. I am also a talk radio format and we have different methods of operating. This past Tuesday, the Sun was trine Uranus and this energy was in the air; freedom and personal self-expression have to freely flow or they will cause an explosion. One manifestation of this happened while I was talking to a friend in Oregon as she was standing outside watching the sky and a great series of lightning flashes captured her attention and she watched them come closer and get more intense as I was monitoring the weather on my computer with the Doppler colors and could see it was close. It was also a great day to watch the greatest players on the baseball field and play a good game that ended with the AL eking out a one-run win. So many people have the book in their hands but never crack it open to read it, assuming they know what’s in it already. Oh, I suppose it’s rather like judging a book by its cover. They make over-reaching statements about topics on which they are under-informed, misinformed or completely ignorant. Relying heavily on Clinton bashing, they lean heavily on character assassination to knock down the Democrats as they have no reason for the average American to vote for their own party. Republicans are of the corporations, by the corporations and for the corporations and have benefited by a Supreme Court decision back in the late 1800’s that permitted them to be defined as persons, but that’s wrong, since a person can vote while the corporations can’t. Teddy Roosevelt was busy with trust-busting and his nephew, FDR went further to protect the American worker but in the last 26 years, Republicans have allowed unchecked economic expansion by American-based transnational corporations to violate every prior trust and trade clause ever signed. We have unrestricted importing with little exporting because we don’t manufacture much here anymore. Other countries have a greater sense of protecting their citizens financially, as Germany has now done; to eliminate foreign investors from taking over their industries, guaranteeing their citizens employment and local opportunities and to keep their industries for themselves. America has shipped off two thirds of our manufacturing and outsourced many tech services that are done via phone because of the GOP. They haven’t cared for the working people since Teddy and they forced him out of the GOP to start the Progressive Party because they were already leaning more to the right after the turn of the century. Our president as a Cancer isn’t as concerned with protecting the American people as his own ass and that of the VP, that he’s commanded Harriet Miers not to testify. If you recall, she’s the former White House counsel that he put up for the Supreme Court and she backed out because of the hoots and hollers on the RIGHT! Meirs is a hack crony who couldn’t argue her way out a legal paper bag! You know he has plenty to hide and not just ‘national security issues’ when he refuses to let the truth come out. His back office operations have crossed the line so often that they’ve obliterated any semblance of the line. This is all to cover up the reasons for the firing of the attorneys, which was a purely political effort to wipe out the minority vote in Democratic strongholds. They were caught red-handed in Arkansas doing just that after Tim Griffin replaced the guy in that state. Taking the right to vote away from Americans is as anti-democratic as it gets. There are laws against this kind of thing and the Bush Klan has broken most of them. Justice will not be served until there is a new head of the Justice Department and impeachment for Bush and Cheney.

Inherent Contempt is the option for Harriet as she is in contempt of Congress, despite being ordered by the president. He doesn’t have the authority to demand that a former aide not testify by claiming executive privilege for them. They should be put on polygraphs until they tell the truth but you know we won’t see that. I can see what they’ve been doing and what kind of characters they are but an astrologer can’t really reconstruct conversations. Anyway, Miers could go to prison until the end of this congressional term for not answering questions put to her by congress. The last time Inherent Contempt was invoked was in 1934, so it has to be dusted off, although there are several senators who have been around longer. The fact is that this administration has had nothing but contempt for the American people since they began occupying the office of the president. Their overthrow of our way of governance is appalling to the citizens of the world, who have never witnessed an American fascist state that runs roughshod over other nations as well as its own citizens. They have been in contempt of the world, the UN, Iraq, Darfur, New Orleans, Kansas and other disaster locales, doing little or nothing to stem the tide of despair and ruin that prevails, rather seeing how tragedy helps their friends reap financial windfalls through corrupt schemes and mismanaged contracts. We can’t wait any longer…we must impeach.

The Surgeon General, who is the head of medicine for the entire country, had the kibosh on any truth he could have offered to the American people. The administration buried any scientific data that didn’t agree with the Bush agenda, as they censored his speeches and he was prevented from informing the public with accurate details. Early on he wanted to play an educational role on stem cell research but he was told to shut the hell up because they wanted to limit the research. NASA scientists were also told to keep quiet about global warming and researchers over at the NIH were also prevented from informing the public about the efficacy of stem cells. Because of his lack of openness to truth and science, Bush has set this country back 50 years to the bad old days of hit and miss pseudo-science. When you have the technology and know-how to take us into the 21st century, it is unconscionable to slide us back to the 19th.

Cindy Sheehan is running for congress against Nancy Pelosi, having declared her candidacy on her birthday on Tuesday. That the president would intimidate her enough to keep her from telling the truth is hinted at in her Mercury square Saturn, which also suggests that she wasn’t the fastest learner in the class. Virgos do tend to perseverate with their obsession to infinite minutiae and detail, which creates problems for other people if those immaculately detailed records fall into the wrong hands. Sara is just their little slave girl, so maybe everyone should just feel sorry for her!

David Vitter is an ultra-conservative Republican senator from N.O., LA who is on the DC madam list…oops. He’s a Taurus who is married to a former prosecutor, which will lead to some lively discussions at home as well as a lot of questions from an inquiring press. Sexual fantasies and escapism are prevalent in his chart as his SN is in Pisces with Neptune opposite his Sun/Mercury, which all square Jupiter for excessive indulgence in those fantasies. It would be easy for him to think about sex all the time, as a trine from Mercury and the Sun to Pluto might suggest but it also has to do with his Moon in Scorpio trine Mars in Cancer, a mutual reception of sorts, as the involved planets are more natural in each other’s sign. Both planets are debilitated by sign, as their placements run counter to their organic natures and could lead to the infantilization fantasy. Moon in Scorpio is corruptible and can be explosive but square Uranus, the kink factor kicks into high gear, as there is emotional detachment and separation from the needs of the communities he represents as he accommodates his new friends to the detriment of his ideals and principles. Sexual inadequacy might be at the source of the problem, as sexual frustration is indicated rather plainly by the Mars opposition to Saturn, which also indicates a small penis with possible erectile dysfunction. There could well be a medical condition as his Moon conjoins his Hygeia also in Scorpio, as sexual health issues become more obvious. His Venus is retrograde in Aries and has no major aspects save for a quincunx to Neptune, so he doesn’t understand relationships and the role of women. That’s three ways bad for his appreciation of the very values he’s advocated for the last decade or so. This is typical Republican hypocrisy that demands his resignation. He took up the torch for impeachment of Clinton when he replaced Bob Livingston who had to resign because of marital infidelity. His religious protestations, which are based in Catholicism, show a deeply wounded and desperate soul who has been victimized by priests that contribute to his homophobia. Religion at the heart of his issues would have to do with Neptune opposite his Sun, as he has no real faith or understanding of spiritual principles.

For God’s sake, he has Jupiter in Aquarius square his Neptune, so of course, he thinks he knows everything God has intended for humanity because he has judged it to be that way. His Sun and Mercury square Jupiter, as well, giving the liar and exaggerator as he makes grandiose statements without ever checking into the facts because he believes he’s going on faith, whereas his corrupt plans involve secrets of which we don’t know the half, shown by Pluto on the NN quincunx Jupiter. Many of his objectives have gone against the masses of the people, as I’m sure he could have gotten some relief for the Katrina victims, but compassion and understanding are not in his heart. A Taurus with Moon in Scorpio is motivated by the things of the Earth, not of the spirit, as his sexual desires and financial dealings are strong motivators and obsessions. Wearing a diaper and getting spanked by a young woman he can call mommy (Mars in Cancer = hitting + sex + mom) and then get sexual pleasure from it is just as sick as saying offensive things about gays and abortionists. Vitter was Rudy’s boy in the Deep South and after losing his SC campaign head to a coke bust, America’s Mayor doesn’t seem to make very good choices for associates. It seems God has spoken and he’s not fond of Rudy, so it will not be a case of the most money winning. The candidates who resonate most with Americans will be the chosen ones this time. Larry Flynt has vowed to out the worst of these hypocrites and reveal their dirty deeds and misdeeds, which is fitting since the congress has a worse approval rating than the president!

Lady Bird Johnson passed away this week but after 94 years on the planet, it was time for her to move on. She is responsible for the cherry trees being planted in Washington DC and helped to beautify the Capitol city and America as the first environmentalist First Lady. Of course she was a good woman as she was a Capricorn with Moon in Gemini and Venus in Aquarius, like my wife, so I am a little biased. Her enthusiasm and exuberance along with her generosity are hallmarks of Jupiter on her Sun, another reason she loved nature and the great outdoors. In fact, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and her ASC were all Sag, so she had a great life with lots of experiences and few regrets, I’d guess. In retrospect, I bet she was okay with Lyndon’s passing at the time, as he had seen how the Republicans had destroyed his plans for a Great Society. She was a rather private woman as she was born in the early morning hours with 7 of her planets below the horizon indicating an introverted personality with a strong will. She had her friends and organizations with whom she committed her time and efforts as her Moon in Gemini in the 7th trine Venus in the 3rd likes to be engaged and active. Bush 41 said some nice things about her but his idiot son took the negative path by referring to JFK’s assassination as the day she became First Lady. You know, in many cases of early death, I like to look for the causes of the passing as forensic astrology is fascinating for an 8th house astrologer, along with sex and transformational issues. But Lady Bird Johnson was 94 years old and there’s nothing premature about her death!

Californians won’t have to worry about mandatory neutering for their pets as the sponsor of the bill pulled it, as it stirred up a lot of controversy and debate that lingers. Caring for a pet means different things to different people and when you want to breed, you need to do it responsibly and professionally, as over-population causes far too many problems for all concerned. Our pets are all neutered and in the case of my Scorpio Corgi, it’s a good thing because he is already psycho and would have been much worse if he had his package all together, although it never really was all that much. Speaking of pets, our celebrity we most like to consider our pet is Paris Hilton, who apparently got special VIP treatment while in jail. She’s also guilty of lying to Larry King on national TV as she said she didn’t use drugs but then, maybe her spacey Aquarian mind forgot that the public still believes pot is a drug and she’s a toker, for sure! She was photographed stepping out of a car in a cloud of smoke and it wasn’t tobacco. Now if she had any balls, she would speak out and proclaim that it’s herbal medicine and that the laws should be changed and people should write their congressional representative to stipulate that message. But she’s not all that bright, really.

We are coming out of the shadow of Mercury retrograde when the Sun enters Leo so even through it may be direct and the Moon is new today, we still have some shit to slog through as though we are cleaning up after a shit storm. New Moons are times of beginnings, especially necessary after this Mercury retrograde. When the chickens come home to roost, you have to start plucking some feathers so they don’t fly away. Oh right…chickens don’t fly…they cross the road. I was contacted by another former chicken…uh, student on MySpace to add as a friend. Chinese people are grateful that the former head of their food and drug safety has been executed. Apparently he took bribes from pharmaceutical companies and probably farming corporations that led to the deaths of many of the Chinese people, as well as American pets and citizens. It seems with the collapse of communism that things are changing but they aren’t always good changes. As corruption increases, good citizens must stand up and call for the removal of politicians who are doing harm to the people. The masses can have power when they rise together in one unified voice to speak truth to power and reach the media so to spread the word. The message is clear for any politician who has bankrupted the system and drained his or her political capital; Stand down or step down.

This is the message for our president now, as well. We have to maintain the rule of law and not the rule of men who are corrupted by their own greed and lust for power. If this is no longer a free country, then we are no longer living in America but the United States of Fascists. It’s ironic that Bush calls his enemy Islamo-Fascists because fascism is the union of political and industrial allies who take over every sector of government, which is what Bush has done with his industry insiders operating inside the departments meant to regulate them. The only way out of this mess is impeachment and it would have to be done in this order; Gonzales, Cheney and then Bush, before he could pardon anyone else. When you have bad people as friends, they only enable bad behavior on your part. Bush wasn’t a nice guy even back in Texas, executing more inmates than any other governor but hasn’t he executed far more people in the Middle East than anyone else in our history. Murdering innocent people in the name of revenge is politically insane and his chart shows that he should be institutionalized. Perhaps it may be only a matter of time, which Saturn represents and occupies the same 12th house as his Sun, the house of prisons and mental hospitals! It would make an interesting closing scene, as the camera pans the Washington hospital where the Neo Cons are incarcerated, talking to themselves about how they could have won the war with more time and more money and fewer troops than the other guy. They try to bribe or threaten the orderlies to bring them treats and let them go out for a walk by the Potomac, which won’t happen as they are under maximum security custody. That would be a fitting end for this gang. I can dream, can’t I?
