From the Astrology Power Hour
We have an interesting pattern in the sky at this time approaching the Full Moon, with the Sun in a square to the opposition of Jupiter to Uranus. I talked about the opposition two weeks ago but with the Sun in Gemini, it bears repeating. The Sun is about ego and the self, while Jupiter represents truth and wisdom, global issues and politics, increase and expansion. Uranus liberates and enlightens, suddenly changes things with some instant exposure through video or electronic media. Gemini rules information without making judgments and Jupiter in the square, is the harsh judge of public opinion. Uranus deals with strange behavior and psychotic breaks, so it is the wacko, weirdo that does bizarre things out of the blue. Since Virgo is the sign of the military and Pisces rules prisons, it’s no wonder this is happening, since this aspect began last August and September. Now that the truth has come out that the abuse was widespread and not an isolated incident, it has to be considered that it was policy from the top of the chain of command, which means Rumsfeld and his boss, the president, knew about it and sanctioned it. That’s right, Mr. Bush, destroy the evidence in the prison you can’t pronounce by destroying it. Hire Halliburton to build another prison. You make out on both ends of the deal. You shouldn’t hold soldiers who were only following your orders accountable because you’re in denial. Like Michael Moore said, Shame on you, Bush. Fire Rumsfeld and everyone connected with his evil plan to torture the enemy. That would include Wolfowitz and maybe even Karl Rove and Cheney. Hell, Bush should resign, too. If this breach of the American people’s trust isn’t impeachment worthy, then Bill Clinton is an angel of a devoted husband. The Gemini energy with Moon in Libra is incredible, isn’t it? White is black and hot is cold and everything is opposite of what you think it is. This is how politics and news information that they feed to media outlets works. I have read reports that the economy is recovering but that isn’t really evident when things are reaching record highs for costs and wages are lower because the jobs that are opening are paying less than the jobs that have been outsourced. The doublespeak is old tactics used by Bush the 1st to make people believe that things were better than they were. His sons have perfected the ability to defraud the public and now, we see his eldest falling into the black hole of denial and avoidance of facing real issues. When he had his little news conference, he didn’t offer answers but stimulated more questions. With Gemini, you never know because there are so many possibilities and with the moon in Libra, we change our minds and moods rather rapidly. The big problem with the Moon in Libra is the square it’s making to Saturn in Cancer, the same exact aspect that our president has. Let me quote the wording of the Para Research book by Rob Pelletier, a famous book published in the mid 70’s. I look at it as an aspect that harbors fear and intimidation, depression and frustration. It’s the struggle with the past and one’s goals, trying to determine which is relevant to the present. There is an inherent insecurity and even immaturity with this aspect because there might be certain defensiveness toward taking responsibility. With Moon in Libra, you see frequent denials and leveling the blame at others often enough. The subconscious is trying to protect itself and diverts responsibility to the next guy. We know much of the history, despite his trying to hide the truth. We’ve heard about the coke and the DUI’s and the alcohol and the whole failed business thing and when you see it all in light of this aspect, it makes much more sense. Listen to the book. The square between your Moon and Saturn indicates that you find it difficult to let go of the past and anyone associated with it. Because of your early conditioning, you are overwhelmed with guilt when you express disloyalty toward someone you have known a long time. Family matters are therefore very important to you, and you forget few birthdays or other commemorative events. These tendencies show that you are emotionally trapped; it is difficult for you to establish your independence outside the confining circumstances of the home and family. Your parents were especially responsible for your feeling of dependence and your inability to stand alone. Unfortunately, parents sometimes don't realize how damaging it is for their children to be dependent on them. Your creative expression will be deeply limited by your emotional restrictions. The most likely fields of work for you are those that serve the needs of the elderly. Such fields as nursing, physical therapy, housing, geriatrics, food, and public assistance programs are some possible avenues of expression. These areas of endeavor emphasize domestic circumstances or identification with individuals who bring to mind your parents. You could perform excellent work and be amply rewarded for your efforts, and at the same time know that you are filling an important need. Your own romantic satisfaction may not occur until you have fully realized how meager is the scope of your own life. Only when you become aware that time is passing and that fewer partners are available to you, will you scramble to find a mate. Try to become interested in some avocational activity. Your normal inclination to melancholy and depression will be reduced as you become involved in creative functions. Children could also be a source of great joy to you and relieve the lonely hours by their frivolity and endless curiosity. You might join an organization that helps youngsters who need a big brother or sister or someone who can substitute for their parents. Eat wholesome food and avoid eating on the run in the fast food service places that today's hasty social structure offers. Try not to eat cold food, and if you can, make it a point to eat with others. The Moon square Saturn is an aspect that will be gone in a day, so it’s influence is temporal, unlike in the birth chart of the president. He has to deal with it for life. How fun. What’s even more challenging regarding the Sun square to Jupiter is that what is passed off as news or true information turns out to be lies and deceit. A perfect example is Chalabi, who, it turns out, is not only a betrayer of his people, but the guy scammed the US, too. Liars are often attracted to others who are prone to avoid any semblance of the real truth. When I hear Bush say anything, I just turn it around to read the reverse of what he said and I have a pretty good idea of what he’s trying to say. The real agenda is beyond what most people can imagine. When I run the composite of father and son Bush, I come up with a frightening glimpse of military control of the world by US forces and economic control by their industrial friends. Pluto is on the North Node in Cancer in the 11th house, so changing the social order according to their reactionary ideals seems part of their brand of fundamentalism. Mars is inconjunct the Sun and stress and the threat of constant war seems to gratify their friends who run the military industrial complex. Don’t let yourself feel threatened by inflammatory news about attacks on American soil as it only spurs panic and fear, which is the very ploy the GOP uses to make you think that their military might can protect you when they can’t even find the guy they know is responsible. Now the news wires have a story about a new summertime threat by Al-Quada and I won’t believe it until after it happens. But even then, I won’t be convinced it was really by them unless they claim responsibility for the attack. It’s all about creating chaos and not so much about murdering the people responsible for their own misery. If they would face each other on a level playing field and duke it out, mano-a-mano, it would make for great reality TV. Come on…let’s see Baptist Bad Boy Bush against The Beast Bin-Laden for all the marbles and oil in Iraq. If Jeb wants to get in on the action, he’s The Swamp Thing. Want to buy some prime real estate in Florida? Religion is the underlying reason for this war and almost every other war in history. Not the overt reason, however as this one seems to be. If the radical Muslims are our enemy, it is because we have made them hate us. We have shoved their noses in the sands of their deserts that surround them. We have a great and bountiful land and they have overused terrain that is almost lifeless and would be worthless if not for the vast reserves of oil under their land. Christian fundamentalists are raving about the end of the world and the New World Order is thinking how good of a thing that could be for them. They could engage everyone into WWIII and eliminate them all, watching CNN from an underground bunker, stored to the hilt for 27 years and a complex hive and everything they could need or want to survive until the people on the surface have ended life as we know it. This is the apocalypse we are facing. It will become a battle for oil, until we switch to solar electric, which has been stalled by the powers that control the energy industries. You remember how we got our collective nuts twisted back a few years ago with the Enron rip-off. Using up the world’s energy resources at such a startling pace only ensures our ultimate demise. We have to develop and use renewable energy sources and it has to start now. John Kerry believes that the rising gas prices are because Bush won’t get his Saudi buddies to press OPEC into increasing production. As I understand it, the increase in price reflects the devaluation of the dollar on the world market and with oil being the new gold standard, it’s like we’re turning into a second -class player. Very soon, China will demand far more oil than we do, and we are the largest consumer of it in the world. China is closer to the oil than we are and can muster a huge army to take it by force if they want to. We certainly don’t want to enter into any kind of war with them, even a trade war. The only solution is ethanol to replace gasoline. It can be made from corn and hemp. It’s time to get in an intelligent man into the office of the president, even if they have the common skull and bones background. What’s the difference between a smart man and an idiot? Look at the way they think and respond to questions. With an intelligent man, we would have a more socially conscious world with more opportunities for the average citizen who won’t be gouged for medications and their rising costs. Over the past year, prescriptions for the elderly have skyrocketed from 10-20% higher, all because of drug company profits. There’s an industry in need of regulation and a clamp down on illegal bribes and coercion. The arm-twisting that went on in congress to pass the Medicare reforms was historically excessive. They kept voting until the president got his bill passed. Gemini is the sign of multiple births and one Arkansas family has had twins twice and just had their 15th child. I can’t handle the one I have all the time but 15? And every one of them has a first name that begins with a J. Jim Bob is the father, so it’s obvious he has a bit of an ego, since Michelle is the mother. Now, I can see the problems with this family are going to be plentiful. All you have to do is wait until they start having to put their kids through school…Oh wait, Michelle home schools her kids, but that won’t get them a degree at a university. Having kids is hard enough but when you have as many kids as a whole basketball team has players, you need someone in management to help you get a handle on the situation. That guy needs a vasectomy! It’s insane! He must really love his wife! After that many kids coming out of the chute, you’d think it was all stretched out. Well, this one was a c-section, which means she could have problems getting her figure back, which might lead Jim Bob to go a different way. One if by mouth, two if by ass. Another thing about the Gemini/Libra combination today is that it reminds me of gay marriage. These are the two signs most likely to be involved in homosexual relationships, I have found. All signs can be gay, bi or anything else. Gemini is more open to its duality and can easily seek their reflection, in an effort to understand themselves better. With Libra, it’s the delicacy and beauty that comes with a more flamboyant lifestyle. With Aries and Leo, it’s more of the narcissistic aspect of self-love. With Aquarians and Pisceans, it’s their knowledge that we are omni-beings, and have been male and female in many lifetimes. Venus approaches the opposition to Pluto, hitting it on the Full Moon, so things will get intense regarding love and money, as well as deeper issues like the economy and the price of oil. It’s also about death and with Venus in Gemini, the habits we form and hold onto, despite the intellectual knowledge of how detrimental an addiction is. A prime example is Gemini’s main addiction, smoking, since it uses the hands and lungs, as well as allowing you to fiddle with something and stay busy even if you are doing nothing. Anything worth having is to be valued for its benefits. How is it that smoking has no real benefits and all kinds of consequences? One of the health issues for smokers concerns impotence and low birth weight, as well as low motility for sperm. Those of you who watched Friends remember Chandler’s problem of low motility. He was a smoker, also. Mercury on the South Node square Mars shows anxious and restless activities. It turns out smoking causes damage to just about every cell in your body. It’s JFK’s birthday. He would have been 87 but in a life cut short by the assassins that conspired to eliminate a servant of peace, we have still no idea of who actually ordered the hit. Barr McClellan, that father of the current press secretary of the White House, says LBJ was behind it. Nixon also had motive and he represented a large coalition of like-minded militaristic hawks, including anti-Castro Cubans, who were in on it, and the CIA and the Mafia. It may well be that he found out the connection between them because they were running drugs through Cuba for years before Castro took over and had a vested interest in taking him out. Nixon was part of this cabal along with Bush, whose oil business had him in the gulf with great regularity. The theory might be made for Johnson because his campaigns had been financed by KBR, subsidiary of Halliburton now and big in the defense industry then. Texas is a big state but it was also very small in the political way and LBJ was the servant of forces greater than himself, being a double Virgo. He was one of the old Southern Democrats who would be a moderate Republican today. One of the things Johnson bought into was the Military Industrial Complex but he didn’t find a whole lot of support from the people and found himself stuck in a quagmire with no way out. Today, war is becoming a different way of life and it needs to be. If the war is about business interests, let’s not get nations involved. If you’re going to privatize the government, Mr. Bush, then privatize the war! Instead, the neocons and the Bush clan have fleeced the sheep, giving nothing in return. In fact, they have taken so much out of the treasury for their own causes, that our children’s, children’s children will be paying off this debt. It all could have been avoided by not doing the tax cuts. Reverse Robin Hoods in office. In fact, if someone wants to do a remake of Robin and the Seven Hoods, I’d love to make it a political version. What we have is taxation without representation, which is tyranny, and we need a new revolution and restore the constitution. Our taxes are padding the pocket of our president and his pals to pump up the polls, while people panic, preparing for Pax Americana. We have taxes on many things that have gone up in price, including gas and cigarettes. By the way, there are far too many stores that are selling tobacco to minors and should have their tobacco resale license revoked. In fact, we should make cigarettes illegal and legalize pot. Tax the hell out of it but provide it for free to the sick. It makes the people passive and able to endure the greater hardships our government is causing us at this time in history. Getting back to minors smoking, that’s an education issue as well. We have to teach our kids how deadly smoking is to them and people around them. Second hand smoke kills more people than previously known. It’s responsible for a higher incidence of heart attacks among non-smokers. Pot, on the other hand, lowers blood pressure, except when you get the rush after taking a good hit. In religious news, more churches are closing in Boston because of the molestation scandal. One fifth of the city’s parishes are closing because they aren’t raking in the bucks, so 65 priests are out on the streets. Parents, make sure your boys just say no to them. I don’t care if the kid is promised a place in heaven at the right hand of Jesus…you must not let them see what’s under the cloth. It isn’t that the kid won’t turn out right, but have you ever been promised something that turned out was never going to happen? Well that’s what priests do all the time. Eternal damnation or salvation…neither will happen. The one thing they can’t find is the truth of reincarnation. Well, there are a lot of other things they will never find as members of an idolatrous cult. Love, peace and oneness are other things that will always elude them. Catholics aren’t bad people; they were just brought up to believe they were. They teach you all these things to practice and believe in when they never teach you to believe in yourself and the God within. This is the fundamental flaw inherent in most religions, especially Christian ones. I have a weapon of mass discussion…a book of quotes on Freedom. The Right’s idea of weapons of mass discussion are talking us to death in the persons of Rush, Hannity, Savage, Coulter and other good old pinheads, for that’s what GOP could stand for. I personally, don’t like to shout at people to shut up and call them names like the right-wingers do. I believe that we are entitled to our thoughts and ideas with the guarantee of the 1st amendment. We have to use our voice and the power of speech and a free press to speak out against infringements upon our freedom and that includes our economic freedom. While CEO’s are raking in record bonuses, the pay of the average working stiff is well below the poverty level. The federal minimum wage is a mere $5.15/hr. That amounts to less than 10 thousand a year! After deductions, you can’t pay the rent unless you have two incomes and even then, if you have kids that need daycare, you’re really up a shit creek. Even in California, where the minimum is $6.75, it doesn’t help because that’s around $14K a year. You can’t buy a house or a car because with that pitiful income, you would never get a loan. Meanwhile, the richest 1% of taxpayers got huge tax cuts and you can’t afford to buy yourself anything nice. What kind of inequity is that? How can a poor person increase their odds of pulling themselves out from the dumpster, whether they got put there or jumped in themselves? One way is recycling bottles and cans that people foolishly discard. I am a consummate recycler. Every few weeks, I take a load of plastic and glass bottles and aluminum cans to the recycling place. They also take used inkjet cartridges, as well as scrap metal. A good haul netted me $22 or so. And it was only my family’s use. Imagine going to large outdoor venues and collecting discards, which are more frequent, these days. You could turn it into a business, then sell it to the next chump as you move on up the entrepreneurial ladder. There are always ways to get ahead if you put your mind and soul into it. It’s all about committing to your future and not wallowing in your past. Many more women are taking charge of their lives by filing for divorce more than men, after the age of 40. You may have thought the mid-life crisis is a male thing, but women have it too and manifest it in different ways. There may be the similarity that they will sometimes go for a younger man, because the odds are better at finding someone with a spark of desire. Diet and exercise affect how a person responds to a sexual stimulus, so overworked smokers would fare the poorest and there are a lot of them out there. They die younger of more complications to more organs than any other age group. A guy under stress in his 40’s is a walking time bomb. His wife leaves him and he begins getting the attention of professional women, and I’m not talking colleagues, although it sometimes happens. Where do all those women get all those nice cars? I’m sure they earned them working it the best they could. I’m not saying they don’t have other aspirations because when you have been held down for so long, you want to bounce back and give ‘em hell. I am a great believer of equality of the sexes, because we have all been both throughout our many lifetimes. Your spirit may have a dominant gender but it will have to define and determine its identity through trial and error. Sometimes you need to experience life from the other side of the fence. Duality is the nature of Gemini and the universe. You can’t be all white or all black. Without the day, how can we know the night? Without wrong, how do you know what is right? Without yin, yang doesn’t exist. Without women, men don’t exist. Science and technology have made the reverse a different story…in theory. Could a race of women endure with no men? Bad sci-fi writers have looked at that story line and they always manage to get it back to mutual desire…eventually. All of life is ultimately about balance. In the western US, we’re experiencing one of the worst droughts in years. Beyond our coast, to the southeast, the Caribbean islands are taking a beating from Mother Nature and being pelted with the worst rains in memory. It is looking to be a record year for hurricanes, too. Extreme weather patterns are part of the end of time scenario. A clash in the Middle East is also an inevitable part of the apocalypse, but I am not a prophet of doom. I believe that we are a survivor species and can wake up to our God-given intelligence and wisdom and begin following the teaching of the people we are arguing about that set the ball rolling in the first place. Must we go back to Abraham, Jesus and Mohammed? I don’t want to teach theology or comparative religions since I think they are almost all chock full of nuts and beans. What few good things are overwhelmed by the countless negatives that abound in most religions. The refusal of allowing a person to do this or that with no relevance to the life they lead shows how religion needs updating over time. We can’t be expected to heed the words of some 1st or 2nd century scholar and take his word as the divine truth. Then there are the truths that have been seriously altered to reflect the doctrines of the people who reinterpreted the old words and laws and re-made them in their own image. Lord, what fools these mortals be. With every day, there comes more difficult news about the war or the economy or the environment. Gemini is the messenger of the gods and we all have the right and duty to speak out truthfully about what we see and experience as it affects the greater good. We have to increase dialog and debate, not be silenced in the name of national security. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all people are created equal and that some sacrifice their life to preserve the lives and lifestyles of their fellow citizens. On this Memorial Day weekend and D-Day week, let us pay tribute to those men and women who have given the last full measure of their devotion to the name of freedom. Well, not in all cases were lives sacrificed for freedom’s sake. Since the war efforts have been virtually privatized in the last 24 to 38 years, we can’t say that all were meaningfully given up on the altar of war. Viet Nam was the first war fought mostly covertly for drugs and other monetary opportunities for a select group in South East Asia. This is the story you won’t hear on the evening news. Just as they won’t admit what this war in Iraq is really about, since it’s really about business and financial greed. We’re getting screwed in almost every way possible and Cheney doesn’t have the brains to admit it. We’re stuck with a president who can’t think on his feet fast enough to answer a valid question at a press conference and he’s the leader of the free world. That’s frightening. We are engaged in a mockery of war against an enemy that never threatened us and have created from it and more powerful enemies throughout the world in the united hatred of our government. You’ll see how quickly things change internationally when Jupiter moves into Libra in September, just after the Sun enters and right before Mars. It sounds like putting down weapons and making love, not war. But let it be noted that Libra is the sign of open enemies and can easily draw the line in the sand again. Maybe Jimmy Carter needs to get involved again as ambassador to Israel. But too often have ambassadors come from the private sector to conduct business with diplomatic immunity. This is why the 3rd world countries have all these deals with western corporations. Israel is not an underdeveloped nation, but quite to the contrary, unless you happen to be in the Palestinian sections. I think their division of rich and poor is even more extreme than our own. But look at the chart for Israel. Sun square Mars is why they are always fighting for their lives. With Venus square Neptune, the problem lies in a lack of understanding or appreciation for the diverse backgrounds of the returning nomads. If anyone should understand Diaspora, the Jews should. But there is a stubborn determination to hold on to what they have, since the Taurus Sun is very much in evidence. The Moon in Leo can make them into crybabies when they don’t get things their way and the Libra ASC then blames those perceived to be at fault. With Mars trine Jupiter, they have thus far been fortunate in conventional wars fought on the open battlefield. But when it comes to the cities, car bombers hit people in transportation situations and little children die along with adults. Gemini is the sign of games and head-trips, tricks of the camera and propaganda. It turns out that there might be Americans behind the beheading of Nick Berg. Iraqis have different body types and postures, whereas these guys resembled dockworkers and bouncers…as a mercenary might look. Maybe they were Halliburton union guys who did the dirty work of taking out an independent contractor like Berg. Islamic law would forbid the decapitation of anyone, even an enemy. If you were trying to inflame a nation against the enemy, you might circulate these images to gain sympathy for your cause, yet it only creates more anger and desire to have this whole issue done with, once and for all. It is a mind game to believe you can create democracy in places where it would never work. Remaking the world in one’s image is rather vainglorious and self-serving. Why is it up to the leader of our nation to determine how the world should be and then go out and make it that way through force. You can’t make up the rules for everyone. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read, These colors don’t run…the world. It’s the former heads of state that are running the world from the back room. Only when we can stop trying to control what everyone does can we ever hope to have a cooperative global civilization. We can all work together to bring an end to tyranny but we have to begin in our own yard. We have a lawn jockey masquerading as president and he has been the pawn of his dad and his VP. If we are going to move toward a world of peace and prosperity, they can’t have anything to do with it. It’s time to think and talk rationally, opening up to the truth this week. Sorry for the delay and the missed broadcast, but I was rather ill this weekend. The aspects hammered me but I’m fine now. Can’t wait to do a reading for you, especially if it has been a while. The Sun just entered Gemini on Thursday and its ruling planet, Mercury is going to be quite the busy little beaver this week, forming aspects to 5 other planets. It’s all about keeping on your toes, mentally, sharp as a tack and ready with a witty word. People are more curious, more apt to try new things and think a bit differently when presented with a rational argument. We have just come out of Taurus, home of the stubborn bull, who plows himself a ditch so deep he can’t get out of it, stuck in routine and endless pursuit of physical pleasures. Many people don’t want change, even fear change because of their precious security being violated by the disruption of the overly familiar. Other people love variety and new interests to open their minds and see all the possibilities life has to offer. That would be the Gemini kind of mind. They don’t have to make a final decision or commitment because they want to consider all there is as potential experiences. Mercury will be a frequent visitor to the aspectarian this week, which means lots of connections and synapses will be firing. Think of it another way…and then…think again. The mind is quick and mercurial…hey, bet you know where that word came from. Yesterday Mercury was sextile to Uranus and some enlightening thoughts were buzzing about. Maybe some interesting TV shows revealed some shadowy secrets and made you think. Tomorrow it hits a trine to Jupiter and the truth can flow more readily, with the added benefit of some wisdom and perspective. It’s also a time for stories, humorous or educational ones. We would like more honesty in our daily dealings when we work with people. We’d like the facts and the details to make the big picture abundantly clear. Why? Because when Mercury hits the sextile to Saturn along with Mars, you want to engage your workers into building your project and everything has to be prepared, on time and under budget. With the New Moon just behind us, things have begun rolling forward and stuff needs to get done, so get busy! By the time Thursday night comes around, Mercury squares Neptune and everyone will be thinking about the 3 or 4 day weekend, since many will take Friday off to get a head start on the other vacationers. The 27th is also when a slew of aspects load up the grid and one, Sun square Uranus, doesn’t bode well, since accidents and crazy shit can happen. Uranus rules the wacky and unexpected, so don’t ask me to predict what will happen. When anything can happen, it usually does. The Moon, Mars and Saturn are all lined up in close order in Cancer, the sign of family and by extension, the country. What we have here is a microcosm for what is going on in the world today. The Moon is security of the home and family, protection and comfort. Homeland Security is the biggest governmental department in history and the GOP is for smaller government…go figure. Saturn is about control and authority; using the power it can manipulate into their command and dominate those under its rule. Saturn is also about big business and the control of economic factors and how money and other resources are used. Saturn is also about fear and limitation, repression and restriction of independent thought, word and deed. Less freedom, more control, fewer freedoms and more laws preventing natural things, like the expression of a loving commitment by two people who have a soul mate bond, even though they were born with the same gender. There is a failure of compassion, a quality that should be inherent in a good follower of Christ. Actually, I think it’s a clever ploy to use the radical right religious fanatics to be movers and shakers for Bush. Mars is naturally war and its attendant waste of human lives and property. It’s the abuse of prisoners because their leader didn’t think the Geneva Convention was applicable for terrorists, since they weren’t part of a standing army. But then, when they did it to Iraqi soldiers, there’s a hew and cry. I guess it’s different killing people when you are a soldier being told what to do because your dictator wills you to do it or because a cleric or Allah wills you to do it. With it all, we’ve really stirred up a hornet’s nest in Iraq, we’re getting stung and there’s no easy way out. Saturn and the Moon are very resolved signs that are diligent and tenacious. Mars likes a fight and doesn’t like to lose. It just makes them mad. And it makes me mad as we watch the lies and stonewalling continue. The Moon conjunction to Saturn can be the control the government wants to have over a woman’s body and what happens before a child is born. They don’t really care about the child once it’s born. So the message is that if you are stupid enough to get pregnant when you don’t want or can’t have a child in your life, or for medical reasons, like being on a medication that would screw with the child’s anatomy, then you’re screwed and have to have the child anyway. But don’t expect the government to have any sympathy for you or your kid. There’s a reciprocal relationship the government has with powerful international corporations. The only thing they want of you is your money and your obedience to the power of the advertiser. Ever notice what kinds of industries dominate the prime time hours? Look at them carefully and what do you see? Alcohol, pharmaceuticals, cars, food, insurance and investments, all of which give heavily to the Republican party. TV began with the oil companies pumping lots of money into sponsoring productions. You don’t see local guys selling little things because of the huge amount of capital to put a commercial on the air. For some reason, there are few airwaves on which to broadcast, unless you own a satellite. So, the FCC regulates everything that’s broadcast over the public airwaves. You can say whatever the fuck you want on the internet. After a period of too much control, people get pissed off. It’s like Popeye says, "That’s all I can stand, I can’t stands no more." Mars is a factor here because it brings things to a head…literally. Head bashing and confrontations are perpetual reminders of our barbaric past. Keep in mind, there was little organized world community until the last few hundred years and even that’s been nothing but trouble. In fact, the history of mankind is the history of war. It’s people like Cheney and Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz and the Bush clan that want to keep it that way because there’s money to be made and people to be killed…thinning the herd. They have created many bio-weapons to destroy particular races, hence AIDS was aimed at blacks and gays. There are other things like having nukes but trying to avoid using them because of the toxic landscape it would create, not to mention the mutually assured destruction that would eventually play out, since Bush has pissed off about every country in the world. The shadow government knew after we pulled out of Viet Nam that the Desert War would be next on the agenda. They weren’t really prepared for the Afghanistan War, which is why it became bait and switch. The problem with the Cancer stellium is how close it is to Bush’s Sun. He’s really feeling the power of war and the threat of losing the office because he’s dropping in the numbers game. It will get worse for him because his Saturn return is this year. It’s time to stop and consider what your purpose is. You have to do what you love and love what you do. Bush doesn’t enjoy this job, but he does what he’s told by Rove. Cheney doesn’t like the spotlight and he would be such fun to spoof, if he were safely imprisoned and was stripped of all power. I would hate to be arrested for making fun of the most powerful man in the land of the free. Boy, you almost have to laugh when you hear the traditional representations of the American way because they have been reduced to cardboard cutouts of the true meaning that we had but a half-century ago. We were powerful and respected around the world. Eisenhower and Kennedy both served in WWII and brought us into a peaceful stalemate with the Soviets. Johnson and Nixon both had ties to defense industry contractors and were on the take to keep war going. Next week is JFK’s birthday, so, I’ll be taking a look at his chart. I once taught a class where I examined the charts of JFK, Nixon, Bush, Oswald and Johnson. It showed Nixon and Bush in on a murder conspiracy. This is the same Bush who was making a kinder, gentler nation, meanwhile gearing up for a Gulf War. The same man who said, "Read my lips…no new taxes", then raised taxes. This same man arranged for the Iranians to hold the hostages until he and Reagan were elected. You can read more about what he’s been involved with on my website under Articles; Bush on the Grassy Knoll. Moving away from politics and into the world of entertainment, a dearly loved actor died. Tony Randall and I have the same birthday. I still do, he did. He doesn’t anymore. Because he is no more. If his name were Les, we would have no Les, no more. The funny thing is…well, there were a lot of funny things about him, like how he got married and got the girl pregnant and his child is only 6. There’s another child left behind. I think Tony would forgive me for that one because he was always one with a story or a joke. I recall many appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny and Carson was always laughing at Tony’s stories. It might be his Moon in Gemini or his Sun/Uranus conjunction that made him so bright. It’s always a combination of everything. He was passionate about everything because of his grand trine from his Sun/Uranus to Pluto in Cancer and Mars in Scorpio. I could always relate to that energy since I have Sun, Mercury trine Uranus and Mars. Having Saturn in Virgo, directly opposing his Sun, for professional reasons, he became fastidious. Well, mostly for Felix Ungar in the Odd Couple. This is really the counter character that he incorporated into his repertoire, as he professed to be a bit untidy. With Venus in Aquarius, as I have, he wanted a partner who could be a friend, even if he did knock her up. At least he did the right thing and married her. His Mercury is in double sesquiquadrate to the Mars square Jupiter/Neptune. To most non-astrologers, that statement will mean nothing. In fact, many astrologers wouldn’t attempt to interpret it either, since it’s a minor aspect…but a major minor aspect. His mind is brilliant and highly charged with a wealth of knowledge and interests in the arts, including classical and opera. He may seem weird to most, but I totally respected him. It’s due to the similarity of our charts that I would surmise that made for commonality of interests. I don’t do opera anymore. I have a family where it wouldn’t fly. I love this time of year because many things are springing to life and into action. The playoffs for Basketball and Hockey and it’s also the time baseball starts getting interesting. History was made on the diamond by Randy Johnson, who became the oldest player to pitch a perfect game…27 up, 27 down. It’s one of the more rare feats of the game. There have been a few in the past 15 years…2 were against the Dodgers but only 15 in the last hundred years. But I’m not here to report on sports statistics, just the incredible accomplishments of remarkable people. Randy Johnson doesn’t really have an incredible chart and the aspects for his perfecto were inconsequential, so what makes an athlete perform at the pinnacle of his ability when most players his age have long since hung up the spikes? For one thing, he’s a Virgo and perfection is something they all strive for. Since he’s already won a World Championship and the Cy Young Award, and has several strikeout records, even a no-hitter, this was the one thing that eluded him. The Virgo’s quest for perfection is a long and arduous road. Seventeen years is a long time and he’ll probably call it a career after this season. The guy’s 40 years old and while we have better surgery techniques is this era, a body can only do so much. ADD and other behavior modifying drugs are the number one prescriptions for children these days. It’s all the fault of Sesame Street and that spawned MTV, which led to the breakdown of any adolescent’s ability to focus on a subject that doesn’t drive their interest wild. Conditioning plays a huge role in early childhood development but they need to have a predisposition to be a certain way, as we shall see just ahead. A child is born with certain behavioral patterns that their previous life experience has taught them as coping mechanisms. Your birth establishes your natal horoscope, a map of who you are and why. Everything you know, think, feel, believe, want or crave is the effect of your planetary aspects reflecting those past life experiences. We are the sum of all our past lives, so it’s no wonder that all these thoughts and emotions are running rampant through our minds. But it’s also the sheer volume of distracting influences from media and technology, such as TV and computer or video games. Fewer classics are read these days, as more throwaway junk is being passed on as passing entertainment. It’s more important for companies to make money than to produce quality. The more disposable an item is, the better it is for the corporations. The only things they didn’t factor in are expenses they don’t have to deal with like where their disposables are disposed of. The TV networks want to eliminate reruns, especially since syndication has been running shows that are still on the air. TV is another form of drug, since once you’re hooked, it’s hard to stop. Just say no to drugs and addictions of all sorts. When you realize you don’t need them to live, the advertisers will withdraw their support and the whole commercial TV system will collapse. With all the reality shows that are coming out, it wouldn’t be a great loss. Vermont has just passed a law permitting medical marijuana for seriously ill patients. Of course, this is the beginning of what will eventually become legalization of all hemp products and with gas nearing $3 a gallon in California, it would provide an alternative ethanol fuel that would allow us to decrease dependency on petroleum fuels. Medical uses of marijuana extend far beyond benefits for the seriously ill. If objective studies were to be done, the range of ailments it would help is staggering. The pharmaceutical companies don’t want this, which is why they own most congress members. Of course, they have lawsuits against them for a patent fraud called "evergreening," which prevents them from having to offer generic forms of the drugs. It’s price fixing and eliminates competition, another reason the Bushies don’t want to let Canadian drugs in this country. Drugs are ruled by Neptune and it’s in a square to the nodes of the moon this year, revealing their evil tactics and their liabilities for deaths and high drug costs. They have been gouging sick people, who can least afford it, for years! Saturn, which rules the elderly, is approaching the stressful inconjunct to Neptune in June and we should see some cracks in the armor of the big drug corporations caused by the victims’ revolt. In the next two years however, Saturn will oppose Neptune and the Drug Cos. will be held accountable and be made to release control of the government, earning some federal regulation. Deregulation is what sent the energy costs spiraling with Enron at the helm of the Cheney energy plan. Transsexuals are now able to compete in the Olympics. You just have to have gone through with the surgery and been on hormones for two years afterwards. Arguments that M-F Transsexuals may be able to become bigger and stronger are offset by the hormone treatment that softens them up. It’s rather interesting that the subject is in the news at this time since the very first sex-change operation happened 52 years ago to a Gemini, Christine Jorgenson. Since then, many men and women have come to see themselves as being born into the wrong body. Sometimes the soul can’t get over the switch of gender from their life just lived. The birthing of a child can also result in ambiguous sexual organs, so a doctor has to make a judgment call. These kids aren’t given any opportunity to determine their true selves on their own and rather than give them that chance, their organs are fashioned according to the most viable gender possible. Some have gone well and others have been left with severe gender identity issues. Speaking of gender issues, David Reimer just passed away but you haven’t heard about him. He used to be a girl and he was born a boy. He and his twin brother were born as healthy males. After 7 months, there was some concern with a defect of the foreskin. A doctor with no experience in circumcision was brought in to do the routine procedure and she botched the job on one of the boys, mangling his penis so badly that it would have to be removed. Imagine being a boy who had his dick cut off and then was made into a girl! Well, she was given hormones and when she reached 14, she confronted her father who broke down and explained what happened. Upon hearing the truth, "Brenda" stopped taking the hormones and wanted to go back to being a boy. She had the operation to graft skin together and build a penis that turned out to be functional enough and got married eventually. But things were never right for either of the boys. His brother committed suicide by drug overdose a couple of years ago, resulting in more guilt and anxiety for David. They had Mercury retrograde square to Neptune, so couldn’t help having mentally disturbed thoughts and escapist desires, leading to drug and alcohol addiction. The Sun in Leo and Moon in Cancer shows the ego and emotions playing a little battle for dominance. Gender issues continue to be a problem with the GOP wanting to oust gay Republicans from the party. What is the problem here? You can’t be gay and rich? Maybe if all the gay people vote for Kerry, we won’t have to worry about the Neo-Cons ruling the country with intimidation and moral judgments against everyone who is different from them. I suppose they would like to have their own version of the Stepford Wives. Neo-Cons are about equal to Neo-Nazis in that they have had eugenics programs began by Bush 1 and breeding programs, which is why they want to eliminate the people who aren’t like them. Duplication and multiplication, more Gemini manifestations. Gemini is the sign of game-playing, head-tripping, say-one-thing-mean-another people who manipulate language so they tell neither truth nor lie…or so it would seem. The term, misleading, would be apropos. It can deal in duality or duplicity, speaking volumes without saying anything of value or substance. It is no coincidence that George the 1st and Barbara Bush the 1st are both Geminis. They reflect each other’s energies but it doesn’t stop them from playing around on the side. At least, that’s the buzz about Poppy. He’s had some shady romantic liaisons, one that I am aware of with illegally young people of both sexes, I understand. Don’t know for sure about the details, but looking at his chart, he has qualities that could easily be gay. Venus retrograde conjoined to Pluto, the ass invader, and they are in a square to the Moon, the mommy hater. But Pluto on Venus acts with subterfuge and sneak attacks. He likes to surprise his enemies (Uranus in the 7th, house of open enemies and Uranus rules shock and sudden attacks) but likes to seem beyond accusation, as though his hands were clean. That’s the Moon in Libra he passed onto his son, blaming other people for your mess. Not coincidentally, the Bush men have their moons at the same exact degree, so you can talk about the sins, as well as the name of the father being passed to the son. Barbara has the Moon in Capricorn as does her son Jeb. Hers is conjoining Jupiter, an aspect in the same sign that Hitler had. Now I’m not saying Bar is the reincarnation of Hitler because she was born when he was still alive…I’m just saying she knows how he must have felt and what he needed to do to the world to get his needs met. She is in support of the war because it’s a family business and her Mars is in close opposition to the Moon/Jupiter conjunction. They’re all corrupt as any astrologer could tell. Poppy has the Pluto on his Venus, Barbara has Pluto on her Mars, Jeb has his Sun opposite Pluto and little George has Pluto on his Mercury and ASC. Pluto is the dark side, other people’s money, the underground and hidden assets. You’ll find that many of the white-collar criminals who put their money in off-shore accounts have strong Pluto or 8th house placements, I would bet. Staying with family Bushit, we turn to Laura, who, as her husband does so frequently, lied to Jay Leno, when she said that they read the newspaper together. Or maybe she was exposing more lies her husband makes when he says he doesn’t read them when he really does. She is a Scorpio, with Moon in Pisces. She has Jupiter conjoining the Sun, which is her educational background as a teacher and librarian. Her Mercury and Venus retrograde are in Sag in a trine to Saturn, so a controlling mate is her ideal. With the Moon in Pisces, she can be submissive, even though Scorpios aren’t known for it. When her mother-in-law told her not to criticize W, Laura didn’t really listen. As she told the story on Leno the other night, he asked her how his speech went that he had just given and she responded that it wasn’t very good. He then rammed the car into the garage wall. I guess his defensive denial doesn’t take well to criticism no matter from whom it comes, even if asked for. She has Saturn and Pluto in Leo both square to her Sun and Jupiter in Scorpio, which might produce the daughter of a powerful developer who repressed her personal expression. She would be challenged by control and corruption, not being able to tell the truth about what she knew. Those Scorpios can keep secrets, which is why she told Leno, "What happens in the White House, stays in the White House. <Look further into the chart of Laura Bush> Avoidance of dealing with the truth is systemic in the current administration. While they throw all manner of false accusations at Kerry, who served in the military. And who avoided it? The fat cats have become the smear cats. They pledge alleged-ness to the flag. We have a republic but not a true democracy. Perhaps that’s why Republicans have found ways to eliminate the threat of significant competition by assassinations, both of human life and of character. Poppy was involved in getting rid of the Kennedy brothers and Dr. King as well as John Lennon. Never assume that a lone gunman has acted truly alone. There is often a stronger force that programmed or trained them to carry out orders for political objectives. Everything is motivated by money and power for most people in the Neo-Nazi movement within the Neo-Con branch of the Republicans. We really need to split the parties up into centrists and extremists. They should know where the American people really stand and you can’t do that with a two-party system. When one party manipulates the media to shill for them, as this administration has done with the Fox News Network and in other instances I will mention, it takes the objectivity away from a commentator. When the bias is so strong that the host is enraged at a caller for having a different opinion, then we have gone too far against freedom of speech. A good American will uphold the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They will stand up as strongly for the right to bear arms as to express the freedom to worship in a manner of their own choosing. They will die to defend the right to speak their minds and assemble peacefully. The polarization of America comes from this extremist network’s attempt to politicize everything and make it about the left versus the right, when in reality we have a much greater enemy to fight…ourselves. We are the best of nations and the worst. All that is good and bad about the world can be found here. We have poverty like anywhere else in the world, although maybe not as pervasive and extreme. We have far too many illiterate people, including our president, even though he’s married to a librarian and teacher. Apparently, he didn’t pay much attention to her lesson plan. Many people are left without a voice in government because their vote isn’t counted, which was convenient for Bush when he was ahead and had the Supreme Court stop the recount. If every vote had been counted, we wouldn’t have the mess we’re in now. I believe we wouldn’t have the war in Iraq, for sure. The terrorists may not have even attacked us, since Democrats are more likely to try and resolve things peacefully. That never happens when your chief contributors want to invade oil-rich countries to Westernize and modernize their countries. It will make many multinational companies based in the US extremely wealthy. As goes business, so goes government, in an effort to …hmmm…capitalize on circumstances. I love this country as much, if not more, than the flag-waving, rifle toting, republican-voting, apple pie-making, family values-crying deep pocket investors who want to run this country into the ground. We need to make America what it has always been…the land of the free and the home of the brave. That should also be a requirement for those who hold the highest office in the land. Think about the qualities it takes to lead men into battle and take the point yourself in a deadly hail of gunfire, sometimes getting hit. John Kerry did that many times on his tour of duty in the Viet Nam War. He can lead men from the front lines and when he saw the real issues behind the war and the corruption rampant, he brought out the truth. He didn’t get his daddy to get him into the Guard and then lie to cover his ass or run off to enter Harvard Business School like the president or get married and have a child to avoid the draft like Cheney. He faced the bullets like a man, no…a hero. Our president nearly choked on a pretzel, that’s as close as he’s come to death. Believe the actions of the man rather than the rhetoric. A politician can and will say anything to get elected and then, once they are, forget all about everything they promised. It is part of the Gemini duplicity game of saying what the people want to hear. When an administration continually lies and deceives its constituency, even though they are under oath to protect and defend the constitution and the people of this great country, then they should be held accountable for the misery they have caused or created. When they favor the industries that support them to the detriment of the people they serve, then they have committed an act of treason. When they collude with foreign nations that are under sanctions and yet still profit from trade with them, they are criminals and should be punished. When they put fake news stories out to promote a partisan agenda, as in the Medicare ads that were produced by the White House then distributed to news outlets as real news stories, there is a massive deception underway. We cannot remain blind, deaf and dumb to the issues at hand, people. We have to take action and rise up to demand that those in office be held responsible for the damage they’ve done on the world stage. Bush with Iraq is like a kid who doesn’t like the toys after just a little time playing with them. We went into Afghanistan and didn’t finish the job, so we went to Iraq. Soon, it’s off to invade a country we can easily defeat. Oops, I broke Iraq and I can’t put it back together again. Quick, what other country can we invade? Where’s Tonga? Sometimes you can win an election but still not win the people’s confidence. Just look at India, with Sonia Gandhi not being able to serve because it would throw her country into chaos. So, for the good of the people, she has wisely stepped back and selected the former finance chief to be the new Prime Minister. The issue is not her gender, but her place of birth. Having a foreign birth has incensed the Hindu nationalists who are rather ethnocentric. It comes with the stratified social structure there and the prejudice that it creates. You’re not like me so you’re bad. It’s one thing to bring your people together but yet another to have them accept you because you’re different. Well, Sonia, welcome to the club. Some countries are less civil in handling political corruption. They didn’t vote in Ilave, Peru to end the career of their mayor. They put him out of their misery by lynching him, beating him and stabbing him, dumping his body next to the bridge he had said he would have repaired…but never did. I guess they need a new mayor there and while they are at it, they should send in some law enforcement. There’s a new sheriff in town, Ilave. The seeds of change have been sown but Peru is a long way off from being a desired place to live. Things have really gone downhill since the arrival of Pissaro and Cortez and Columbus, of course. Greenpeace was brought up on charges that haven’t been invoked for over a hundred years with some obscure maritime law that Ass Crap’s people dug up to repress civil disobedience and protest. A couple of guys boarded a boat that was shipping mahogany that had been illegally harvested in Brazil. Interestingly, the shippers or the illegal loggers weren’t charged even though their crime is greater. This is typical of the type of AG Ass Crap is. On Wednesday, the court threw out the case because the prosecution failed to make its case. However, the fact that they went after protestors shows the desire to repress freedom of speech and popular dissent. Gemini is the sign of the rational mind and if we all used our own mind to decide what is right and what is wrong, then we should be able to come to a better and more harmonious way of relating. Being able to listen and respond without tossing a bomb or shooting someone would be making progress for many in the world. We need to learn to talk to each other. Listening to the issues and problems of the other nations, we can better determine who we can relate with and which countries are genocidal maniacs. It’s only a bit of a problem that some in our government consort with vicious dictators, as Cheney with the leader of Azerbaijan. Why else would he go over there if there weren’t oil in massive quantities? This is what I mean about being more concerned with the politics of business than the business of politics. This is where you can play semantics with what is happening by calling it things that it isn’t really but it’s a cover story. We’re bringing freedom to the people of Iraq. Most of them would actually prefer the known known of Saddam rather than the unknown known, as with the USA. We have Rumsfeld to thank for the redundancies used in assessing the stakes. It was George Orwell in his great classic, 1984, that coined many of the concepts that Bush and his gang came up with back even during the Reagan years. Let history remember that the Iran-Contra hearings could have ended the career of GHW Bush, except that he had key testifiers eliminated before they could spill what they knew of his involvement. Listen, it isn’t a conspiracy theory when you’ve examined the facts. Imagine what fallout that would have had, including the resistance to have another Bush leaguer in the Oval Office. Gemini is a time to question things, as curiosity and intellectual activity are major aspects of this air sign. It is also the sign of mind programming, because repetition and mental suggestion are part of the patterning elements used to create the perfect patsy. If you repeat something often enough, you believe it. This is why people who watch mostly Fox News tend to believe every lie they hear because they are so used to being lied to all the time. They are also programmed into shouting others with rational arguments down and calling them names because they can’t defend their position. When important people who represent the free world speak the same lines with the same phraseology, then they have been programmed to repeat what they are told without thinking critically for themselves. We’re told that the Iraqis and Al-Quada and the Muslims hate us for our freedom. What freedom? It’s not our freedom they hate us for, it’s our unfair economic policies and our toxic pollution, our materialism and our decadence and the fact that we worship the wrong God, even though there is only One God. It doesn’t have to be rational when it incites hatred and suspicion or racism. There is only one way back through all the duality, the duplicity, the multiplicity of the games people play to avoid dealing with the truth. That way leads to the connection of all spirit. We have to recognize that we are all part of the one and each has his or her own special talents, skills or abilities. We have to learn to share the resources of this planet together and claim as ours only what we can create of our own power. The things of the Earth should be shared with the rest of the Earth’s people. Even the Native Americans had more of a clue than most people of civilized origins. It is time to hold the mirror up and see the reflection of who we are in reality. What are we doing to our planet and ourselves? Can you honestly say that you’ve been good to yourself and others as well as the world? I’m seeing the Moon/Saturn/Mars differently now…we need to take responsibility for our actions and nurture our home back into top shape. It will take discipline and hard work, as well as fighting some who would still rape, pillage and plunder the land. If we work as a global family, we can do it. It’s time to get busy taking care of the beautiful blue sphere we live on.
