Tomorrow’s New Moon is conjoining Saturn and Mercury and it gives rise to a few ideas regarding security issues. When is safeguarding being overprotective? Our country is a Cancer nation and has traditions of being the caretaker of the world. Cancer is the caregiver and protector of the family. This could be extended to include all of the Earth’s population. Our President is a crab as well and has this mindset that it’s okay to control the way people around the world live because we take care of them. After all, we throw all this money at foreign countries to bail them out, to buy their loyalty or to get their support for wars. This week alone, he wanted to give 3.12 billion to Pakistan. Now, I don’t know about his deeper motives there but I believe that money could be better spent right here in our own country, perhaps bailing out the states whose economies prevent them from having decent education, police and fire service or housing for the homeless. I’ll tell you this; he will lose points with women this year, as his solar return has Moon square Venus and Saturn. Where is the compassionate conservative when you need those attitudes to improve life in our own country first? In order for you to be able to take care of anyone else, you have to take care of yourself first. Security is one thing, responsibility is another and it is more of a Saturn thing. Well, with this Saturn conjunction, it might feel frustrating to many early Cancers…but it can be handled if you know how to use it. The temptation is to manipulate and control others instead of yourself but if you can’t control yourself then you have no real sense of responsibility and should not be in charge of others. We ask our lawmakers to be in charge of what our taxes are spent on and it isn’t fair or pretty. What they have done to us is hold us hostage while creating wars as they’ve undermined our economy for the next decade. Their league of spin-doctors has created an image that isn’t anywhere near the truth. In fact, there has been more secrecy during this administration than ever before in the history of our government. When is protecting your citizens by putting them in jails justified? When they are Arab Americans. It doesn’t help that religions have divided us or that the history books, as they are re-written now by the extra-politically correct, pussyfoot around delicate events and sugarcoats them with unfailing blindness. They are creating a past that is a fantasy, fictional in its portrayal of people in roles they would not have experienced or excluding roles that are now considered stereotypical or biased. Despite the fact that many Asian people ran laundry services, they won’t depict any Chinese cleaners. They would like to change history and whitewash all the discrimination out of it. I can understand their concerns that children should not learn negative behavior or racial profiling but in all honesty, call a spade a spade and I’m referring to a playing card, not a derogatory name for a particular ethnicity. The language in school textbooks is regressing into a black and white world that is flat, populated by bland, two-dimensional people of indeterminate ethnicity. History, it seems, is history because the publishers sanitize the wording in order to try to revise the past. Get past it! What happened, happened and altering the facts doesn’t change anything. I’m still reading this book called The Language Police by Diane Ravitch and it has become apparent that our children are having the desire to read driven out of them by a watering down of our language. The list of banned books and words or phrases is so extensive that I would have a hard time speaking with such a limited vocabulary or writing guidelines. I’m sensing that Fahrenheit 451 might not be too far from the truth of the near future. Orwell’s 1984 was closer than you think and Brave New World is just around the corner. All of them are banned. Have another hit of Soma, it will take all your problems away. How about some Prozac, ease your worries. Don’t worry that your president and his cronies hijacked the nation and have generated fear in the hearts and minds of everyone living in this country. Big Brother is watching you and when you get the ticket in the mail for running a red light with a camera, you’ll understand better. When the future seems bleak, many people want to retreat back to safer times, so waves of nostalgia overcome different generations with echoes of earlier ones, sanitized for your protection. In the 70’s, there was a retro interest in the 50’s without a Cold War. Remember Happy Days? In the 90’s, they were flashing back to the 70’s and even the 40’s and the 50’s again. The 80’s was a weird decade altogether and I think it was because of AIDS and other sexually oriented exploitation revealed by Pluto in Scorpio. It was a conservative’s period of profit taking as the Reaganomics theory of trickle down prosperity failed miserably. The decade most needing a revival is the 60’s, although in a way, it’s never really been too far gone. What is gone is the quality of influential people we looked up to with hope for a better future. People like the Kennedy brothers, Martin Luther King and even Malcolm X. These people were assassinated by powerful concerns that didn’t want peace, integration, civil rights or voting for poor blacks in the South. They were killed by people who thrive on the killing of millions of people around the world. Those who base their profits in war, like Halliburton and its subsidiaries, are responsible for the carnage wrought on our planet, year after year. As for California being in a huge budget crisis, I wrote to Gov. Davis months ago with ideas for saving the economy without raising taxes or fees and he never replied. I suggested that the legalization of hemp products would generate major amounts of capital but he feared the rage of the U.S. Capitol. It takes guts to stand up to the federal government and despite his being a Capricorn with Moon in Leo, his Sun is square to Neptune and it makes him a confused or deceitful person who fell off the turnip truck and got ripped off by the magic bean sellers from Enron. It used to be that you could count on Democrats being largely to the left and the Republicans leaning to the right. When you hear of this kind of middle-right Democrat trying to hold a crumbling economy together by tripling the license fees for vehicle registration, I’d say you’re dealing with a rigid, narrow-minded, tow-the-line and strangle the state population with it kind of guy. I’ve told people for a long time that they have to get past their past and the only way to do that is to progress forward. When you are ready to move ahead and make progress in your evolutionary development, you’ll want to talk with me. The most important thing you can do is take care of your own self, first. Only then will you be in any position to take care of another human being. Only by feeling out what you need as an individual will you get what makes you feel secure and comfortable. Stop being defensive, preventing others from getting to know you. If your routine is limited to home and work, it’s time to go out for a change. With Saturn trine Mars and Uranus, business should pick up, in general. With this next Friday being the Forth of July, our next show will be about the founding of our country and it’ll be a little history lesson. Calvin Coolidge was born on the 4th, and a couple presidents died on that day. On to happier notes, we’ll be doing a class on chart interpretation this afternoon, so if you want to learn astrology, you might want to come on down. You can buy my book or a clock when you get to my house and also you’ll get to see my solar system concrete floor, just don’t try to take it with you when you leave! Bring your brain with you, too!

Just a few Gemini footnotes to wrap up the last moments of spring…in the world of baseball, which happens every spring, comes a rare event. A no-hit game. Even more unique is the fact that there were two games in which multiple pitchers were used to win the game. In one case, the Yankees were no-hit for the first time in 45 years by 6 Houston pitchers, a record in both cases. The Yanks held the record for most years without being no-hit and the Houston Astros used the most pitchers for a no-hitter. In a High School All Star game, one team used 9 pitchers to no-hit their opponent. That’s the first time that’s ever happened. It is, indeed, the first day of Summer! The Solstice is the entry of the Sun into Cancer and crossing the Tropic of Cancer at 23 degrees, 30 minutes stirs up the waters of the oceans of emotions. This is what scholars refer to as summer love. When love is rejected, one often compensates by turning to food and the issues it creates because it is the last legal addiction, so many are finding fulfillment in food instead of love. The weight they put on generates self-esteem issues and circular patterns of self-debasement. This could be sourced in parental battles and the familial chaos that caused the subconscious to retreat from feeling love and affection for others and feeding one’s face first. Cancer is the sign of the past and history has shown us that in simpler times, we had two things that urged us on to survive: Food and Love. One could argue that all you need is food and love. Too bad the Beatles didn’t consider that part of their song. Some scientists argue that humanity changed its evolutionary arc when it changed its diet. Enzymes and proteins in food trigger growth of particular potions of the brain and send signals to it to find a particular expression or desire. It has been shown that men who eat meat are more aggressive and driven sexually than men who are vegetarians. It’s the hormones, dude. It’s not that you aren’t capable of having sex if you don’t eat meat…it’s that the anger and fear that is deposited in the animal’s flesh when it’s slaughtered is transferred into your body. Simply put, you are what you eat. Tracing the history of human evolution hasn’t been easy because of the creationist religious zealots who close their minds to physical evidence. They want to deny the existence of dinosaurs. I wonder what they think oil comes from? This blind leading the blind mentality enrages me with incredible amounts of unbelievably. Anthropologists may have found the missing link in human evolution in the form of a skull from 160,000 years ago in Ethiopia, Africa. I have no problem accepting this as a scientific fact, although it is my belief that there were intelligent humans here thousands and even millions of years before that. It has been 65 million years since the extinction of the great reptiles and there had to have been periods when the planet was able to be inhabited or colonized by travelers from other worlds. It’s a nice little getaway planet from the hustle and bustle of the center of the galaxy. The religionists will try to fit all of creation into 6 days when it was meant to be God’s days, not human’s days. It’s like dog years, God ages a million of our years in one of his days. He’s not a magician who waves his hands over an empty space and poof, let there be life! If you really want to know how this works, you won’t find the answers in the bible. It is said that the history books are written by the victors. Well, when the victors are the repression and guilt-inducing fear mongers who create images of evil to frighten you into being good little sheep, then you have to step back and examine what they are trying to teach you. Do they ever say anything about empowering your God within or explain how Jesus wanted no churches or temples, but all of nature to be the cathedral of God? And when our scientists are too timid to tell the President he’s being naive and blind by believing in creationism, what can we do? When our children are having their tests and texts purged of every element of diversity and exploration of places different from their own because of fears of bias or sensitivity, how can we guide them to the truth? We have to take care of our families and nurture our young to become good and worldly citizens of this planet. Another is that we need to make education about nurturing relevance. We have to prepare them for a future that may be very different from the present. What will happen when technology moves us into the 22nd century and our religionist politicians propel us into the 16th? I’m a history buff and like antiques and old masters and great literature. Unfortunately our children may be prevented from experiencing that sort of inspiration because much of it is deemed to be obscene or biased. A flatlander might not understand what mountains are all about and so might get their feelings hurt reading about it. I’m sorry, but one reads to expand one’s mind, not limit it to things they would only encounter in their personal life. Limitation is a Saturn principle and many authoritarians use their power to control and manipulate people and material things to amass a fortune while the general population has little or nothing. The Moon and Cancer, the sign it rules, deal with caring and concern for family and in historical terms, it meant the tribe you were a part of, as well. Besides food and home and family, it is also about emotional responses and memories, which are the reasons many of us have problems. We carry them around like a ball and chain, trying to move forward while shackled to the past. We get angry with the people we are supposed to love because we are part of the family. Well, one thing I’ve learned is that you can’t control family members and you can’t expect them to live up to what you expect of them. You don’t need to like them but you might want to love them and accept who they are, letting them go their own way, whether you agree with it or not. You are not the commander of a ship in your family unless it is a ship of fools. And believe me, when the mutiny happens, the self-appointed captain will not be merciful. Many crimes of passion happen within the family and I’m not even referring to mafia families. Domestic squabbles can lead to violence, especially when alcohol or drugs are involved. You always hurt the one you love…because you don’t really love yourself. This is a theme I’ve seen over and over again. Some people should not be in a relationship unless they have some serious counseling, either astrological or psychological and even reincarnational readings to clear out any residual demons from past lives. Many people are like the History Channel, where the past comes alive and live it over and over again. I am more of a futurist and see things as they could be and that’s because of my Uranus in Cancer activating my entire chart. When Saturn last was in Cancer, I began my study of astrology. Now that it has returned, I will take it to a new level and enlighten those who are ready for its wisdom. I am still seeking people who wish to study. Buy my book!
A few more thoughts…I figured out the mystery of the weapons of mass destruction and you’re not going to like it. These weapons have been manufactured in this country for a long time and the government not only knows about them, they have been paid by these mass murderers to allow them to stay in business. It doesn’t matter if there are warnings on the labels because over a million people per year die from the use of…alcohol and tobacco products. When did we have a war when we’ve lost that many people? I rest my case and point the finger at our government for being complicit in the death of millions. But, let’s talk about happier matters. How about discussing your family relationships? That’s a good topic for Cancer. Or your food addictions would be good fodder for discussion. One last thought: Did you forget something? Return to the scene of the thought. It helps to stimulate the memory. Give us a call
