Independence Day is this Wednesday and yes, it sucks that it’s in the middle of the week. It means Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will be taking the week off! Now where will I get my fake news? The Full Moon in Capricorn this morning is, among other things, also called the Devil Moon, illuminating the dark side of power, as Cap has been associated with the goat-god for centuries. Full Moons are very powerful, especially when they are near the nodes and form eclipses as we will experience in late August and early September. Some of those eclipses coincide with synchronistic frequency to earthquakes in likely zones for those events. Seismic activity is often affected by the shifting tides and strains on the Earth by the lunar alignment. Capricorn is a dry sign and we have had a dry year by most standards in the Southern California area. Even up north, in the Tahoe area, wildfires have spread like chicken pox in a pre-school. It’s a disaster and we’ll see how quickly they are helped by disaster relief and FEMA. It is the responsibility of the government to provide assistance at times like these and get people back up on their feet again.

I was thinking about the Capricorn dimension of aging and it occurred to me that women experiencing menopause and after have had their sexual juices dry up, so there is much less sexual desire. One reason is that for much of their lives, they have been devoted to others, through marriage, family, child-rearing and work experiences. Now their bodies have given them a different motive; find some meaning for your own personal life, whether it’s helping some humanitarian cause or working for a charitable organization, foster parenting or political activism. Certain parts don’t want to do what they did when they were young for several reasons but one is so a woman doesn’t have to be a slave to her sexual desires. This is a time for travel and education regarding things that fascinated her all during her life but for which she had no time or opportunity. She doesn’t have to go to jail to take time to reflect on her life…she just has to stop and think about it for a minute until she either breaks into uncontrollable hot flashes or crying spells. When you reach the 50’s, your life isn’t done but unless you redefine yourself, you’re going to go through hell. This is a mother’s time as the kids are home for the summer break and she gets to be more than she already is. Someone needs to give her a break now and then. I do it for my wife and she does it for me. Go, do, be…live, fly free.

Summertime is fishing time no more, since phishing is in from the evil-doers in the geek world. I remember when I was a kid and my dad was on vacation and he would take us down to the lake for an afternoon of fishing. It was okay but it was rather boring since it was not a natural setting in South Philadelphia, There were still live fish in the lake but they were not a very strong breed and by now, it’s all a polluted toxic wasteland, although from recent satellite images, by all appearance, it seems the lake has dried up or been drained. Certainly it was to prevent kids from getting sick by the toxic water. Our lakes, rivers and oceans have suffered significantly because of industrialization. I believe I understand what has happened as much of it has happened in my lifetime and that of most baby boomers. As the returning veterans began having families, they had to spread out further away from urban centers of culture and began intruding on pristine wilderness that required clear-cutting of forests.

Mars in Taurus symbolizes taking the cutting blades to Mother Nature, as cutting down trees and digging into the earth for coal and oil are scars upon her beautiful face. When you see the face of the Earth from space, she’s a beauty, but the closer you get, the uglier she looks and the closer you look, the more frightening it becomes to realize that we are destroying our home. She needs a facelift and a manicure, although if women were in charge, we wouldn’t have the pollution we do, since they are more concerned with the next generation, as they have always looked out for their young. Even as the men go out and kill the children of other families, the women are the ones who are the fiercest fighters when it comes to protecting the ones they love. One of the most heart-rending scenes in the classic western High Noon was when the non-violent Quaker wife of Gary Cooper, played by the young princess-to-be Grace Kelly, picked up a rifle and shot the man who was about to shoot her husband. I get a shiver just thinking about it. He turned and stared a second before he could even react…stunned that she would shoot a man to death. That’s the other thing about Mars in Taurus; you want to build for peace but when pushed to the limit, you will fight back to the death. It is the opposite sign of Scorpio and there is always a reflexive quality involved.

Cosmic attunement leads to wish fulfillment is not just the secret, but is a fact at times. I was thinking about a friend who was going to send a little something to mend a particular physiological bend. As my stash was getting low but my cash was in good flow, I was all set to go to the store to get some more. When I get to my door, I almost hit the floor. There was a package from my friend, whom I now must defend and on him I do depend. And that’s where my tale must end.

Some of our kids have gotten a raw deal from life and it can be seen in Georgia, where a boy of 17 was charged with aggravated molestation for having consensual sex with his 15-year old girlfriend. Now that’s just wrong in every way! He has appealed his sentence and they won’t even grant bond while he’s appealing. Our justice system has some serious flaws in it and causes some serious damage to people who would otherwise have straightened out. If they would send drug-users to re-hab units and counseling, then offer employment and continued guidance, the drug problem would diminish and the prison population would decline significantly. The Governator has an overwhelming prison population he can’t solve despite a judicial panel saying he has to do something because they will give him a cap of the maximum numbers allowable at the facilities. The judges doubt that Arnold will be able to comply with their ruling and do anything about the prison populations. I suppose if it affected him more personally, he’d be quicker with a solution, as that’s the way Leos are. Just as readily, they can be child-like or childish.

Our kids want to grow up to be rich because they can see that the only alternative is poverty. The RRR has destroyed the hopes and dreams of the middle class. It began with Reagan and has had a flailing at the hands of the Bushwhacker. Saturn – Neptune is a considerable failure of leadership at every level we can perceive and the kids recognize it, so want that wealth and power that goes along with it. But in our blind greed, as the master race of the plutocracy has lived, we have modeled behavior the young people will heed as an example of the dog-eat-dog approach to life. The real humans who work and live on this planet need to step up and show us how it used to be done before outsourcing. Reality is calling and it’s tired of being stalled by illusions and deceptions that have been thrown up as a smoke screen for what’s really going on. Diversionary tactics are common in a war and since that’s what there is on the middle class, I say we fight back. We do so by supporting unions, like the California grocery workers union, as they may have to strike to prevent their whole benefits package from being eliminated.

You’re traveling in another dimension, a dimension of power, control, limitation and domination of the little people. There’s a signpost up ahead…it says you’re about to enter…The Saturn Zone. For those of you who are unfamiliar with recent planetary history, let’s look back, a very retrograde thing to do, at the significant Saturn aspects to the outer planets. Back in the year 2000 and on into the following year, Saturn was square Uranus, an indication that the authority in power needed to be changed and towards a more ideological direction, as the Uranus square represents the will of the people being against the power in charge. Along comes Bush and with transit Saturn sextile his Saturn and transit Uranus trine his, he made it through the gates with some major dishonesty in Florida and turned his eye toward war. The first phase was the destruction of the systems and structures that held us in place as the most militaristically powerful and economically dominant force in the world. The Saturn opposition to Pluto in 2001 until 2003 had corrosive but hidden consequences that we have seen come out. I don’t have to regurgitate the events of those years so I won’t. In 2003 from October until June of ’04, Saturn hovered close to Bush’s Sun and actually turned retrograde on it in ’03. He consolidated his power and took what ever capital he could and bought congressmen and Senators around the country and put them in his pocket. Finally, last week, Saturn opposed Neptune and many of the secrets have begun to ooze out from the Washington Post articles exposing Cheney as being the power behind the mask of his Bush-puppet. That which we feared has come to pass as reality; that Cheney is the big giant head that controls everything. I have examined him astrologically and he’s in the PDB. But I may look at it again. We’ll see.

The secret government started when Nixon was vice president and took the CIA and converted it into his private army for the years until he was forced to resign. I have written about this topic in my article, Bush on the Grassy Knoll. It details many of the old conspiracy theories which, as it turns out, are more factual than people have wanted to believe. If the CIA was planning to assassinate Castro, then JFK, who was about to decommission and dismantle the CIA, would have been a likely target, and they could get away with it, especially if they had multiple assassins to make sure the target was destroyed. Johnson was in the loop, perhaps after the fact, but certainly Nixon and his CIA friend George Bush were the real masterminds of the hit. If you consider the Skull and Bones roots in the Masonic Order, it was a ritualistic hit, with the layout of the plaza perfect for a multi-shot murder.

There are some astrologers who ascribe the rulership of Neptune over gasoline because it’s a liquid but I think of it as Plutonian as anything that has to be drilled for or excavated. If we use Neptune, however, the Saturn opposition to it would also be a reason that the Iran gas quota and rationing system that allows 26.4 gallons a month at 42 cents a gallon is causing riots and violence. Even though the prices have dipped a little in recent weeks, we have to put pressure on our politicians to make progress getting bio-fuels into gas stations and making Detroit build cars with higher CAFÉ standards and are flex-fuel ready. I don’t want to retrograde on the petrol issue as it can get slimy as we discuss the oily bastards behind the hijacking of our economy. They are a part of the Neo Con agenda as they have profited more than almost any other industry and they have been allowed to pollute more and forced to clean up less with the added advantage of numerous tax cuts. The lesson of this opposition is that they must be stopped by instituting alternative fuels from independent sources and a real free enterprise system that rewards the guys who go up against the big guys.

Immigration legislation failed and won’t get resurrected until after the ’08 elections in all likelihood. Bush has failed once again to make any significant progress, even fighting against his own people and getting support from the godfather of liberals in the senate, Teddy Kennedy. They will have to create a whole new slate of ways to deal with the immigration problem. Before that happens, we need to enforce laws that are already on the books and not turn away people who will work at jobs we don’t or won’t do. I wouldn’t want to pick produce for a living among pesticides or just the pests and breaking my back for strawberries or climbing in trees for other fruits. Certain types of work require a certain build or mind set that allows one to tackle the difficulties and hazards of that profession. Other fields need intellectual acuity and good memory for numbers and concepts that are too complex for the average individual. Astrology is like that, which is why so few astrologers are out there. So many airhead celebrities could use my services that would save them so much embarrassment. Of whom could I be speaking?

Paris is free at last but said her ordeal at an LA jail was traumatic and surreal!? How about her life from the perspective of normal people? That’s beyond surreal, I would estimate. Here’s an interesting rendition of her transits…as of the release from jail, her progressed Moon comes through a square to Pluto and her minor Moon is in the 12th house for the next 6 months as she has a revelation of salvation. Her progressed Sun has been square her natal Neptune for the last couple of years, hence the addiction and glamour-girl fascination. Her minor Sun is on her natal Venus, so she needs to get her values and tastes straightened out for her own good. She’s been given a timeout by Saturn in opposition to her Sun and Venus to give her a chance to look at herself without the distractions of the glitterati and paparazzi that hound her 24/7. There was an appearance on Scarborough Country by the guy who runs The Learning Annex and wants Paris to teach how to brand because she’s made herself a brand unto herself. Well, that kind of thing can’t be taught to people who weren’t born with talent or looks. She certainly has no special intellect, as her Mercury retrograde squares Uranus and causes her mind to jump into higher gear than most can handle effectively, as they leap ahead of where everyone else is. Her progressed Mercury is finally coming back to the same place it was when she was born after going direct when she was twelve. With her natal Moon on the NN, she needs to express who she is and stop trying to be everyone’s friend and the most photographed celebrity. She can’t help being born with Neptune on the ASC, which is why she has a problem with drugs and alcohol and why there is something glamorous about her and its as nebulous as the aurora borealis. I suppose Chiron square the nodes and the Moon/Venus opposition will cause some karmic relationship issues that pull her in both directions. She’s still chilling for a few more days.

Neptune rules the Earth’s cooling system; the clouds, oceans and the waterways of the planet and the restrictive force of Saturn’s pressure limits the ability of the planet to chill, so in Europe, they are feeling the heat. It’s like a heat wave, burning them up and frying their feet. 115 degrees…ouch! Greece has been hard hit, along with Bulgaria, Romania, Italy and the Balkans. Meanwhile, in the Southwest, they are still in the midst of a 7-year drought and Southern California is in its driest year since they began keeping records back in the middle of the 1800’s. Yet, just over in the heartland, OK and TX have been hammered by rain and floods in the past couple of weeks and while we need the water, this is ridiculous. A rising tide lifts all boats but it can also sink a city. It lifts cars off the street and strands them on top of roadside rails and in trees. I guess the creek did rise, so the good lord must not be looking out for Texas and Oklahoma. After all, Tom DeLay is a denier and James Inhofe is the OK senator who doesn’t believe in global warming who might have to have his mind changed by the strange weather that destroys his state eventually.

Another Saturn-Neptune result is the supreme disappointment we feel that religions and industries made out over the rights of the people in the Supreme Court decisions. Their rulings will allow more corporate money to be spent in attack ads just before the elections and this will be the ultimate tipping point that breaks the resistance of the congress to eliminate the money from political campaigns. Unions can’t outspend industrial and multinational corporations, so it isn’t fair for the average Joe, once again. They also ruled against free speech in the Bong Hits for Jesus case and have allowed religions to get a leg up on atheists and agnostics by supporting the faith-based programs financially, violating separation of Church and State. The other decision allows developers and logging interests to infringe on protected species’ habitats, destroying pristine lands in the process. In the Bong hits free speech case, Clarence Thomas said that schools could limit free speech, since the kids had no right to it. What? They are citizens, too. Thomas is just a bit too much of an idiot and with his retrograde Mercury and Venus, seems to have his facts and values wrong in just about every way. Scalia, on the other hand, is a slimy sack of evil repression covered in a sick and tasteless humorous expression. There are five Catholics on the high court and four of them are Right wing extremists; Thomas, Scalia, Roberts and Alito. It’s criminal. This just in; they also ruled against allowing school districts to increase racial diversity causing concern among many other school boards that also want to improve diversity. Race cannot be a factor in determining the composition of the schools. It doesn’t ban school bussing but it hurts many urban cities that have too many blacks and their out-lying suburbanites who are too white. This court’s decisions are a step backwards, deep into the prejudicial days before civil rights. There’s much more judicial impropriety to discuss as Judge Roy Pearson sued a dry cleaner for 67 million and went down to 54 million but for a pair of pants that’s insane. He lost his pants, he lost the suit, and now he’ll lose his shirt as he has to cover all the legal expenses for the cleaner. I couldn’t find any birth info on him other than he was born about 1949 and that he’s black.

In more gruesome legal news, Bobby Cutts, the ex-cop who killed his girlfriend and unborn child, has the same birthday as wrestler Chris Benoit, who killed his wife and son and then himself. In their Solar Returns, they have the Sun quincunx Pluto among other issues. Benoit and his wife were having problems over what to do about their autistic son and apparently he was using steroids at the time and snapped into that ‘roid rage you hear about. So let’s look at the charts. Chris Benoit had a problem from early on in his life with a defensive and secretive nature depicted by the Scorpio Moon on his SN that squared Jupiter for exaggeration of emotions, a good feature for a professional wrestler, where they have to make it look like they are getting hurt more than they are. His Mars in Libra opposed Saturn and squared Venus in Cancer, so while his opponents as the objects of his aggression were usually men, women who get in the way when he’s angry pay the price. He may have been a reasonably intelligent guy and decent communicator with Mercury in Gemini trine Mars but it squared Pluto, causing extreme intensity to well up in his mind and explode with verbal tirades that led, in his case, to violent actions. It’s possible, based on his natal Neptune opposition to his Sun that drugs were more a part of his life than he would have cared to admit. His wife was a Taurus and former model with Moon in Leo in a square to Neptune, so she was the victim here and was used to that role. Her Saturn in Pisces opposite Uranus in Virgo may have caused her to pressure him to the breaking point and she did have Mercury-Mars-Jupiter all on his NN opposite his Moon, so he felt like she was always attacking him. With his Moon playing defense all the time, it was just the kind of thing Mercury retrograde will do; bring up all the old issues that cause emotional backlash. It was, after all, on his Mercury in a square to the Mars-Saturn opposition! His progressed Moon was in Aries exactly opposite progressed Mars in a square to his progressed Mercury retrograde! Progressed Sun was square natal Saturn but that would be the underlying depression that would motivate a life-ending event. Transit Mars opposite his Moon was the trigger that caused the murder but the trigger had been pulled from all the other aspects he was tortured by at the time. It was a combination of excessive emotions due to the drug use and depression that led to those deaths. What of the other guy up in Ohio?

Bobby Cutts Jr. was a cop with authoritarian issues as indicated by his Saturn square to Mercury/Chiron opposite Uranus, so his father may have cut off all communication and he had to become the authority, saddled with his dad’s name! His anger is graphically illustrated by the Aries SN with Venus and Mars on it. The two planets are also in opposition to Pluto with a square to the Moon in Cancer with all of them. The Moon is the mother and family and the opposition is the murderous intention that was always there in the natal chart. So what caused him to snap? They had also been together for a while, as they have a surviving 2-year old Sag or Capricorn son who ratted out his daddy. First of all, Mars is the trigger of violent crimes, just to get that out of the way. Now when transit Mars hit his SN, he took her out to the woods and killed her. But what drove him to it? What are the underlying motives? I think he was a very repressed guy who bottled up his anger (Mars on the SN) and projected his anger onto others as he may have been obsessed with the thought that he was a nice guy. He’s not that smart, even though he is prone to asking questions, in that Mercury opposite Uranus way but they square Saturn, so he either didn’t get it or was just not hearing stuff that was said to him. If he can’t hear you, it doesn’t exist for him. Transit Saturn was square his Juno exactly and his progressed Mars was square his natal Saturn, so the frustration must have been infuriating along with the fear of more responsibility. His minor Moon in Leo exactly conjunct his Saturn and progressed Moon was conjoined to secondary Saturn, all in a square to the progressed Venus and Mars. With transit Jupiter on his Neptune and opposite natal Jupiter, not only was judgment lacking, but he may have taken too much of a drug like meth or something of that nature. Mars on the SN in Aries may be a lack of energy that he compensated for with drug use. Another thing is his progressed Sun was the last degree of Gemini opposite Pluto! I wasn’t able to get birth info on his victim, so that will have to be covered another time. One more thing about Cutts, and what a name for a killer, is that he had the height of arrogance at the time of the murder thinking he wouldn’t get caught. The combination of the Aries and the progressed Leo hiked up the arrogance quotient by a considerable degree.

The VA Tech shooter had no drugs in his system, leaving the way clear for an astrological and psychological disorder, which I have previously defined. Cho was a Capricorn with Moon in Cancer, but more importantly, like our president, Sag SN, so he wasn’t taking any advice from any professional therapist or doctor, even if it was prescribed. In fact, he was under the delusion that he was fine and everyone else was fucked up.

In business news, 80% of toys are made in China and some of the Thomas trains are painted with lead. Now I’m not the head of international commerce or anything but I think China should have sanctions for potentially killing all of our children. All of our debt should be forgiven. Okay, that was wishful thinking. How about they stop trying to kill us with poisons or we will stop importing things that can be poisonous. Just send us your hottest women and best basketball players.

This past week, Saturn came into the exact opposition to Neptune and we got the revelation that Cheney is the true power behind the curtain. Not that anyone is surprised about that, since it was rather obvious from the start that the bumbling goofball who mangled the language couldn’t possibly be bright enough to mastermind a complete destruction of everything this country has stood for and against, for the past 231 years. Cheney has set himself up as the unified dictator and a law unto himself. He wishes to be unaccountable for everything he’s done to destroy our way of life with an arrogant lack of consideration for the well-being of every American who isn’t a wealthy industrialist. Do you know how much money he’s made from his stock options with Halliburton? It’s more than most countries in the world make! He needs a dupe…a gullible sap who can reflect his ideology without question and he has that in little George, his former boss’ oldest kid. In fact, Bush the first and Cheney go back together to the Nixon days and is the de facto shadow governor of the party and the underworld boss of the world. You hear that, any of you potential alien invaders? If you want a piece of the action, you have to go through Cheney, first. It’s hard for his position to be defined, since no VP in the history of our country has ever exerted so much political power to manipulate policy, lying to the American people on every occasion and ducking questions as often as they are thrown at him. I’m sure there are a lot of reporters he would love to take quail hunting. He’s probably already had them wiretapped and knows what they ate for dinner last night or what they did last summer. Who knows what lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow governor knows. He’s read your e-mail and knows what you download, as his daughter is on the board of directors of AOL! When I found that out, I left and they made that very difficult. As for his office, Cheney must be a non-entity, since he’s neither executive nor legislative, but a peculiar hybrid of both. He needs to be circumscribed and then circumcised and finally…Lorena Bobbitt-ized, perhaps he should be euthanized. What is the correct solution to his kind of pollution?

Speaking of pollution, Christie Todd Whitman perjured herself, as she testified in front of congress. She’s the former NJ governor who was appointed by Bush as head of the EPA and it was her decision to allow workers back on the pile at ground zero when she knew that the air had deadly and toxic levels of asbestos fibers. She’s another Nixon crony having worked under Rumsfeld back then. So I won’t even begin to go into her political background further, since her chart should show her natural leanings and inclinations. From the outset, she has Neptune sandwiched in between her Sun and Mercury, which are 9 degrees apart. Had she pursued the arts, she might have fulfilled her true destiny but she drank the kool-aid and became the pawn of powerful forces and with Moon/Chiron in Libra, showing her deeply rooted emotional wounds, went right along with their wicked plans, just like Bush. Mars/Jupiter in Scorpio is a fine aspect but when it squares Saturn, her enthusiastic energy gets used and manipulated by an authority she respects or hates but bows to anyway. Her Saturn is conjoined to Pluto in Leo and they square Juno and Venus is in Scorpio, also square Pluto, so she’s related to many corrupt masters and had been influenced by them all too often. Despite distancing herself from him, she, like Bush, has Uranus in Gemini near the NN and has benefited her friends in high places with financial opportunities and regulatory breaks. The double Libra wants to be moderate but still denies wrong-doing or collusion about the Ground Zero disease. I could see in her progressions why she needed to use deception and a poor memory to weasel out of telling the truth. Moon trine Uranus could read like a phonebook of friends and contacts but she needs those people as supporters and campaign contributions. With the Republicans, it’s always about the money. And 9-11, which they never let us forget, especially Rudy. Oh and speaking on Pat Robertson’s show? Rudy’s kissed the ugliest baby in the world, there. But 9-11 and terror is all Rudy is running on and he would only want to lash back because it was his city that got bombed. Rudy’s revenge is the name of the campaign. Take it to them there and destroy it all. Oh, Rudy, you just don’t want to look at the facts, like Bush, who doesn’t realize how low his poll numbers will go before it completely destroys the party’s chance for any victories in ’08. Actually, many people are registering Independent now, as there is disenchantment with both parties and it is prime time for the 7 party system.

More political people in the news this week…vile, venal Sagittarian Ann Coulter took a bus to Stupidville and got off at Insanity Lane, slandered John Edwards again and Elizabeth struck back with such strength that it helped her husband’s fundraising campaign. Obama’s people keep pestering me with phone calls that I don’t answer anymore. Hillary slammed Bush’s war in Iraq as weakening the global war on terror. And that’s the reason I don’t want her as my president; she thinks there really is a global war on terror. No there isn’t! Who has shot at Bush or Cheney? They are the real terrorists and no one has stood up to them or tried to take them out. I wouldn’t mind any of the Democrats over any of the Republicans because there is a basic divide in this country that hasn’t been explained to many of the voters. The ultimate distinction between them is that the Republicans are for free and unfettered trade while destroying unions, health care benefits and retirement packages, all of which favors large corporations, while the Democrats are for the middle class and support universal health care, for the most part. Don’t vote for anyone who is tied to the insurance industry because that is one of the most anti-American businesses out there, along with oil and pharmaceuticals and clothing manufacturers and the list goes on. Those companies who have outsourced under the leadership on the Republicans, should not be allowed to sell their products back in the USA. You want a marketplace? Make the stuff in the country where you do business. What do you think? That we don’t have the workers who will do the labor? If you pay a decent living wage, that won’t be a problem. It has to be the government that puts pressure on corporations to make it affordable for people to live and buy things they need from their wages. Oh this is way too huge a topic for a one hour show! Here’s an interesting newsflash. Yesterday, Thom Hartmann did a straw poll on his Air America radio show and the question was which candidate would you vote for in 2008? The overwhelming winner was Al Gore with Kucinich, then Obama and Edwards in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. No one mentioned Hillary at all! Wow!

Back to Cheney, as we look into the astrological reasons people do what they do. Dick has always been a dick but the progressed Moon and minor Moon are both in Leo right now, so his arrogance is at an egotistical all-time high for him. With his two Moons in opposition to transit Neptune and Saturn on them, he must be stopped and he should be up for prison time for his crimes and it would be well deserved. His P Mars is exactly opposite Pluto and transit Mars was square them both this week! How about that for his evil actions being exposed?! Pluto is in an exact square to his natal Neptune and that has been eroding any sympathy for him, even from many conservatives who would love to throw him under the proverbial bus. Uranus is square his Mars at the same time and with Neptune on his chart ruler, Mercury, next year he could go to prison! I hope! His minor Sun is slamming up against a square from minor Mars and Saturn, so he has to be stopped! Keep in mind his minor Sun, Mercury and Venus are all in Capricorn right now and he’s thinking he’s the unitary executive with no restraints. As a past life black magician, he should know his actions have negative consequences but then, crooks, liars and fools don’t learn from the past or their mistakes. Lynne Spears is Britney’s mom and if you want to know why the kid’s all screwed up, just listen to the mom’s chart. She’s a Taurus with Moon/Neptune in Libra squared to Jupiter/Uranus in Cancer, so her career as a singer must have been interrupted or derailed by family and life’s unexpected experiences. Maybe her mom was an alcoholic (Moon-Neptune) or her dad was disapproving as she has Mars quincunx Saturn but there’s the intellectual sabotage she did on herself with Mercury square Pluto, ruling the SN and quincunx the NN as well as the Moon/Neptune, forming a yod with the node. Top it off with Saturn opposed to the Sun and the enemy becomes her father and her fears of failure are immense because it sure isn’t the burden of success that stops many people from going for it. Addiction is an inherited trait and it runs in the family, so it isn’t surprising that Britney has Mars square Neptune, one of the more notorious addiction aspects. Her values are about controlling people with Venus on the SN in Capricorn, as I should know because my Sag mom had that, too. It was always about manipulating others and Miss Brit is the shit about that because she can’t even control herself.

Stalking Sasquatch in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is an interesting summer research project but not one I would want to fund. The U.P. is a rather remote area stretching out into the great lakes, dividing Superior, Huron and Michigan and borders Canada. Hiawatha National Forest occupies much of the U.P. and there are many lakes for fishing. It would be a natural wonderland for some woodland creature that didn’t want to be around a lot of humans. It could also be a large human with a hairy body who wants to be left alone. Why don’t they leave the poor guy be?

A 23-year old black Jamaican pilot circumnavigates the globe, possibly the youngest man and first black man to fly solo around the planet. It took more than 3 months but he did stop along the way to talk with kids in Greece, Egypt, Japan, and the US about their future careers in aeronautics. Things got a little rough in the Pacific Northwest but this is a tropical guy flying close to the Arctic Circle! He was cold! Welcomed back home in Florida, a banner met him that read, “Live, Dream, Fly” which are perfect words for the dude. He has a flight academy for kids pursuing an aviation career, so the boy is doing exactly what he wants to do and that is something truly marvelous. When you can live your dream and benefit others in the process, it’s really what life is all about and it helps to block out some of the darker elements of today’s bleak world of lost leaders. It gives you hope that a new day of American independence can dawn as soon as our long, national nightmare ends. There will come a day when all sorts of people will be able to fly; rich, poor, every color and religious background and any gender that wishes to, will be able to go to flight school and learn to be as free as the wind, unless you run out of gas in a remote place. First, one must learn how to navigate, because if you don’t know where you are, you can’t know how to get where you’re supposed to be. Astrology is a great tool for personal navigation, so follow the stars and you’ll always fly high.

Let the insanity begin! It’s Mercury retrograde time and the craziness that will ensue for the next month has already produced some interesting experiences. This stuff writes itself but that doesn’t help when your fingers still have to crank it out on to the page. So many people are back in the news that I wish I didn’t have to talk about but have new revelations due to making connections to family ties. Later on I’ll discuss the most over-hyped person in the world. And there are more who are vying for that title, as well and Hollywood history has been filled with stories of flame-outs and shooting stars. Some stars have been shot while others shot up drugs. It makes the whole industry seem like a tawdry wasteland of burnouts and celebrities behaving badly. It’s no wonder that LA has the bad rap it’s gotten from those more conventional people in the rest of the country.

Mercury retrograde is always an interesting and challenging period as things come back that you don’t usually expect and you hear from people you might not have wanted to or didn’t anticipate. Curiosity is a Gemini thing and with the retrograde, it might actually be reversed, so that people act like they know without being certain of their information. It can make them judgmental and opinionated, so let’s see how the talk shows turn out these next few weeks. And there’s also the beginning of the summer vacation that will affect those who are trying to make plans and want to get out of town. Some may find all the camping places booked up because with more people and the same number of campgrounds, the odds get worse. Really though, it’s just the same people procrastinating and competing for prime vacation spots that actually fuels the problems in the wilderness. We should make as light an impact on nature as we possibly can, so leave your heavy gear in your car and take what fits on your pack mules to go into the wilderness. Back to nature is one thing if you do it as nature intended but quite another thing if you try to take the city with you. It’s just not the point. Interestingly, a lot of gay people have retrograde Mercury or Venus and even Mars because attitudes, values and desires are karmic conditions and often have to be reviewed from life to life to determine the viability of those qualities. So it’s interesting that Bush has nominated an incredibly vile anti-gay surgeon general, James Holsinger who wrote an article called Pathophysiology of Male Homosexuality.

Some of the people you hear from during the retrograde period are positive reminders of the good things you’ve done and some of the things you’ve passed along. As this has been a significant week for the chickens coming home to roost, a couple of my former students contacted me this week and I had great conversations with both of them. So as to keep their identities confidential, I’ll mention their signs and some aspects they have in common. The one who came over while I was doing a reading for a client is a Virgo with Moon in Sag and Leo rising with Venus on the ASC and Moon conjoining Neptune square the Sun lodged in between Jupiter and Saturn, so I saw potential in the kid when I met her 8 or 9 years ago and she still remembers much of what I taught her. The other is a Taurus with Saturn on her Sun square the Moon in Leo and Aries rising with Venus on the ASC! Sun and Saturn are in the 2nd for both and Venus on the ASC for both. It’s interesting that I would get that kind of student twice. I don’t choose them as much as they choose me to teach them, as astrology, like a lot of fields, is something that your soul calls you to do. These encounters were just this week with transit Mercury on my Uranus, which makes sense since astrology is ruled by the strange outer planet that rolls around on its side and the other is the little planet of students, learning and communication instruments such as telephones. The most rewarding thing is that they report back to me that what they learned from me has so transformed their lives for the better and has empowered them to become stronger and smarter than those around them.

My family and a few friends went to the Hollywood Bowl to see Pink Floyd played by Roger Waters and his assembled group and they were awesome. The retrograde experience, besides seeing a bunch of burn-outs who were rude, smoking tobacco in the stands and noisy, were soon overpowered by the incredible lights, videos and pyrotechnical displays, so in the end, a great concert. The traffic was the other thing they should have been more able to deal with since the Hollywood Bowl has created traffic snarls in the Cahuenga Pass for 80 years but this was the mother of all traffic jams. As we were sitting between Universal City and the Bowl, a jogger on his way to the concert passed us several times until he pulled ahead for good the closer we got to the Bowl. And he looked like a Pink Floyd fan, too. There were also adventurous people climbing up the hill trails behind the Bowl to get there faster and dirtier. Political statements abounded and for the first part of the concert, a semblance of crowd control reigned but after the intermission, it got to be that many people were smoking everything they possibly had, as I could smell the harsh tobaccos of cigarettes and cigars as well as the pungent fragrance of hash and every kind of pot from the high grade to the low. But they let almost anyone with a ticket in for these concerts, so it was no wonder that the riff raff were smoking up a storm.

Speaking of smoke, Jon Stewart had a guy on who wrote a book called The Cigarette Century about how the tobacco industry has dominated the American cultural and economic scene for the last hundred years. Smoking is under the influence of Mercury and Gemini as well as the 3rd house and has a direct relation to the sign before, as an agricultural herb product would have to be commercialized in order to create significant profits. It is interesting that they chose to smoke it instead of the more mellowing herb that grew along side of it, the hemp plant which could be horticultural-ly improved to make medicine. Our founders did promote the growing of hemp as a great American commodity, however, as it was necessary for ropes and ships of the day used a lot of it. The Wars of 1812 were partly over the control of hemp fields in America and Russia, although it was overall a war between the British and the French, as was the American Civil War, believe it or not, as the Brits allied with the North and the French with the South.

Back to smoking; as American as it is, we have spread the addiction all over the planet as our use of it has declined, so we’re poisoning the world. It is a curse upon our national identity that we now have to cure cancer for the Earth to forgive us. When you do damage to something, it is often repairable so you have to look into ways of fixing things that can be fixed. First of all, let’s look at some of the issues with smoking as an addiction. It is awfully hard to kick that habit. Most addictions are replaced by other addictions and you can go from skinny to fat if food is the substitute. For others, it becomes drug dependence, as the cycle of needs goes undiminished. We are often drawn into repeating patterns by a lack of emotional support or sense of something lacking in our lives. There is a hole that needs filling and we have to have something that fills the emptiness. Smoking may fill the idle times when your brain has been on overload and you want to do something to take your attention away from the real deficiencies in your life. Back in the 50’s and 60’s all the newsmen seemed to be smokers. They would gather around in the newsroom or in the Green Room or even on air and would smoke cigarettes, wisps of smoke curling into the blackness of the background and they were informed of the growth of tumors that resulted. It took until the late 60’s when people finally began to get it that smoking causes lung cancer and people started to quit. It was made to look cool in the movies and early TV shows and then they banned TV commercials promoting cigarettes and all tobacco products eventually have disappeared from the tube. It isn’t cool smoking yourself to death and tobacco can kill. You can replace it with pot and you’ll feel better and less tense if you do. If you want to clean out your lungs with an herb than can heal, then smoke sage as well. It’s time to take care of your body as we move into the sign of Cancer and do things to eliminate the disease of the same name. We can fix what is wrong with us as we are remarkably self-healing.

The Mayor of LA, Antonio Villaraigosa and his wife, Corina, are getting divorced after several years of difficulties and it won’t likely change much about him at all. It has to do with Uranus on his Venus and Mars, trine his natal Uranus and perhaps he has a lot of new…friends. His Mercury in Capricorn is square Saturn/Neptune in Libra, so has sacrificed a lot for career and the Moon in Taurus reveals the stubbornness that will never change as long as he thinks he’s doing good for the greater community. Jupiter is also in Taurus so he has been very persistent in trying to take charge of the LAUSD to improve the quality of education, as he may be compensating for the lack that persists today. Symbolically, Hygeia is conjunct Jupiter trine Chiron, as he’s the doctor who would fix all the problems in education. However, his Jupiter and Chiron square the nodes, so he’s been knocking and the door isn’t opening. Idealistic is certainly a term for his Aquarius nature but I haven’t been able to find out what his soon to be ex is yet, besides neglected and strong Hispanic women hate to feel that way.

The theme of Gemini moving into Cancer is about repeating patterns that affect families and allow the sins of the parents to be visited upon their children, no matter what economic level they may have been from. As a prime example, I came from a blue-collar family and my siblings and I have all have professional lives, which allow for greater rewards than my parents had in their lives. None of us will die from lack of means and we have kids to whom we can pass a legacy. There are parents who have problems with addiction and codependency as well as other psychoses or disorders and those, too, are passed on to their offspring. There are a couple of high-profile cases I would like to share about women in the news hogging the spotlight for bad behavior.

American women aren’t very strong when they have to be defined by a relationship and so many of them are nothing by themselves. Or at least they have been led to believe that falsity. I happen to know many strong and powerful women who have made good lives for themselves and have successful relationships. True, they are relatively few in number but are yet proof that you can have it all if you work hard enough for it and have your goal well-defined first. You have to know what you want and be unafraid to go after it and it should be something that you attain on your own or by your own efforts so that your reward is true. We have been through the self-esteem period of education wherein they have spoiled an entire generation of people who expect things just for showing up. You get nothing in the end of this life if you don’t do anything to deserve it and won’t easily move on to any higher state of being if you don’t grasp the spiritual lessons inherent in the process of life on Earth as we know it in the 21st century. Most get it a little while others are clueless and I suppose you think you know where I’m going with this. Well, the old adage goes; the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and in the event of a rotten apple, look for a crab apple tree. We have perfect examples in the entertainment industry if you know where to look. Let’s see, who could be more high profile than, let’s say Lindsay and Paris? And how about their respective mothers? This is what I want to examine now.

Dina Lohan is a failed actress who is living vicariously through her children whom she has loaded with false sense of self-esteem that has to be earned by public acknowledgment. It is the very dysfunctionality of her Saturn issues that has failed to produce an offspring without major problems. Celeb-retards have to stop blaming their problems on the media or paparazzi because if you spoiled little bitches didn’t make so many stupid mistakes and have such bad judgment as well as addictions and indulgences, you wouldn’t have half the problems you do. Dina is a Virgo with Moon in Aries in an opposition to Mercury in Libra in a T-square to Mars in Cancer, so she’s irritating, annoying, argumentative and arrogant and wants what she wants when she wants it and thinks others are rude or incompetent when they fail to live up to her impossible demands. Her Saturn on the South Node in Aquarius gives her a sense of powerlessness that is overcompensated for at the Leo NN as she bullies her way into wherever she wants her daughter to be. Her own failure in personal relationships has to be blatantly exposed by Venus/Neptune in Scorpio square the Nodes and Saturn. As opportunistic as they come, she’s the reason Lindsay has made bad career choices for picture projects that haven’t begun to test her acting chops. Her greed is highlighted by Jupiter in Pisces opposite Pluto with Venus/Neptune trine Jupiter. This is a Virgo with no planets in aspect to her Sun and as such, has no real direction for a life of her own creation. The failure of Virgo to work causes them to fall into the trap of Piscean pitfalls such as addiction or living a fantasy life that they haven’t earned and where they live an illusion. The empty NN shows self indulgence and pleasure-seeking pastimes while the Saturn on the SN is lack of personal productivity and having to control others because she has no self-control.

Lindsay is dumb about drugs with a capital D, as she has Neptune opposite her Sun and seems to focus too much of her off hours on pursuing addictions, as well. She has an aspect I have and I can see the similar effect, as Jupiter square Uranus can cause a lot of accidents and some bad judgment about friends. OMG! Ab-so-fucking-lutely! Cancer’s often have the need to feed appetites and the Moon is a reflection of those needs, so hers in Taurus is habitual and the trine to Mars makes her impulsive about feeding it and the trine they make to Ceres in Virgo continues the nurturing process figuring it is doing a service to the body. However, the goddess that Ceres is has her limits and can be overdone, as the opposition to Jupiter in Pisces indicates and is exacerbated by the square that marks the wound, Chiron in Gemini and its polar point Uranus in Sag. Pluto is seven degrees away from the South Node and the only planet even in the celestial neighborhood, so a lot of her self-destructive tendencies are based on past life traumas that she hasn’t faced down yet. She’s got some demons!

The mother of Paris, Kathy Hilton is a Pisces with Moon in Taurus with her Mercury and Venus straddling the SN in Aries. While Mercury is trine Uranus for a brilliant and quick mind, it squares Saturn for an evil and manipulative mind that uses fear and negative reinforcement to fight for what she wants. Her fighting spirit is the Sun square Mars, the ruler of the Aries South Node and she has memories of having power and using it to cause the deaths of many people, probably in Nazi Germany, as she has Moon in Taurus trine Saturn in Cap and Pluto in Virgo. Ooh, she collected the gold and valuables of the old and dead people at a death camp. She may have a problem with speaking out much this lifetime with her Mercury on the South Node. OMG! I just did a reading for a guy with that, although his was in Pisces and he got lost about three times before I finally directed him here. Kathy has ADD as her inability to pay attention to detail has resulted in her daughter repeating the same behavior and of course, it makes perfect sense that Paris also has Venus and Mercury near the SN. It’s totally logical that Kathy has her Chiron on Paris’ Mercury and Venus to have screwed up her mind and values so badly. She is one of the unredeemed Pisceans as she has no other planet in Pisces other than her Sun and nothing in Aquarius either. All her inner planets are in Aries, Taurus and Gemini so she doesn’t have a whole lot of spiritual life experience. With an unoccupied Libra NN she overcompensates in codependency so she lives through her fucked-up daughters.

Paris must have major issues with her mommy but strong attachments as well since she has Moon on the Leo NN and Venus on the SN, which oppose each other, so she seeks to play out the unexpressed connections with her mom through her female associations. Chiron in the square to Venus and Moon is the reason her female relationships are so wounded since it goes right back to her mom. Her weak Mars in Pisces is quincunx her Jupiter/Saturn in Libra, a reflection of her father’s absence and they drain away any possible energy she might have since much of is drug-induced. The Sun/Mercury square to Uranus shows a lack of true life force vitality and a short-circuit that shocks her out of the normal human behavior patterns. Her Leo Moon needs attention and because her mom’s Uranus is on her Moon, she didn’t get it from her and it is unlikely she got much from her dad, as Saturn’s only aspect is the quincunx to Mars. Kathy’s Jupiter is on Paris’ Uranus, which can have a lucky influence or a crazy one, although both could operate together. It’s possible that Paris is crazy because of her mother’s influence since mom has Chiron on Paris’ Sun and her Moon on Paris’ Chiron so there is a doubly wounded emphasis here.

A new social contract for Americans is needed if we are to move forward into the future effectively. Philosopher Frederick Nietzsche promoted the concept of the superman from which Hitler drew his concept for the Third Reich but so did the creators of the Superman comics. We, as spirit beings, are already more super than we know but have been left in the darkness of ignorance about our spiritual powers for centuries. If we had been taught how to use more of our brain capacity, we could heal our ills and empower our thoughts with such incredible energy that we could break through many barriers that have previously stopped our progress. Every time there seems to be a force for positive change, some ultra-conservative works behind the scenes to thwart that progress. And sometimes it is so obvious, as our current leader has made abundantly clear; that the rich, white men who are greedy enough to control the whole world are the true evil masters of the universe. These men have used the Nazi model and incorporated Soviet era KGB generals into their plans to dominate the world by economic and military force. They wanted to build a 4th Reich to last a hundred years. Well, a new constitution or the reinstallation of the old one would be fine, although it needs a few small revisions to bring it up to currency. This used to be a great country until it was plundered by the Pirates of the Constitution.

There is a country that loves our president so much, they would vote for him in a heartbeat. So let’s all work together to make sure Bush is elected president of Albania for the foreseeable future. If we can fight him over there, we won’t have to fight him over here. There’s uneven progress in Iraq, says War Czar Lute, who needs to use the Lute to play a medieval tune on someone’s ass. What’s the opposite of progress? What have we established there? Death tolls are higher every day, it seems, as more American lives are wasted in the streets of Iraq and without purpose. Now we have supplied the Sunni insurgents with weapons to kill Al-Qaeda fighters, although they will also turn them on the American troops, no doubt.

Back on this side of the planet…the city of Calabasas just missed out on being one of the All-American Cities this year, beat out by Santa Rosa in our fair state. Do they have a 2nd hand smoke ordinance? We have a courageous mayor who is a Leo and he has withstood public insults and death threats for standing up against the evils of second hand smoke. I stopped a lady from lighting up on the Calabasas Commons last week and she wasn’t from here, so she didn’t know but like many unaware people, she had just passed a no smoking sign and it didn’t register. The complete and utter lack of social awareness is astounding to me as people look like they are lost in their own private hell and don’t generally engage with others in a pleasant manner. I suppose it has to do with the sheer overwhelming numbers of people living in more tightly packed neighborhoods and especially with condos and apartments, you’re living too close to people you would rather not deal with and that’s understandable. If you lived out on the prairie and didn’t have anyone for miles around, when you did bump into your neighbors at the general store, you were much more engaged because you don’t see them that often and you want to know what’s happening around your town with other people. We won’t be able to return to the days of fewer people because there is no reverse in the progress of time and time travel wouldn’t be the answer either. You can help make your own city a better place by electing officials who care about the quality of life and the environment.

Here it is Father’s Day and there are a few notable dads who have truly distinguished themselves to the point of being true heroes to their families and friends…and I’m not talking about the military men who are put in an untenable situation and cannot do the good they would like to do because of their standing orders from a madman. Who are the men we really look up to without question and who are still alive? Firemen are true heroes because no one else runs into a burning building. I know some people pick Bill Clinton but I see many of his flaws. Others see Al Gore as the standard bearer of the new rationality, while others still see Edwards or Obama or Kucinich. That’s fine on the left but is there any candidate on the right that has any rational approach to solving the crisis we face in America? Only Ron Paul has the right approach and he can’t seem to get traction because the top three bullies, Giuliani, McCain and Romney are all primping and preening like roosters before a cock fight but have the money and press. Rudy loves the Bush role and wants to play that and more, thinking a strong military is the way to be the world leader. A great leader puts the military into mothballs and works on the process of peace and economic expansion for the rest of the country. All Americans need to have an opportunity for the American Dream.

The NRA actually worked with the congress to support a gun control bill that would allow background checks and not allow sales to insane people, or at least those who are mental patients. The 2nd amendment gives us the right to bear arms but it was supposed to be part of a regulated militia. If everyone has a gun, there will be a whole lot of accidents but if they make sure people who are dangerous can’t get them, it takes some of the pressure off. But the problem is still the legal guns getting into the hands of children that sneak into daddy’s drawer or gun locker. The greatest gift to humanity is education and diversion from anything lethal, so that kids learn about the deadly dangers of guns and weapons. There is nothing cool about getting shot and killed because some kid brought a gun to school. It’s still one of the more tragic events that can happen. Parents are devastated by the death of their children due to gun violence. They try to keep their kids off the streets and sometimes the bullets fly right into their homes, landing where they kill the innocents. Street gangs often run wild because they didn’t get a proper education and no reinforcement from strong parental role models. The majority of kids in prison have followed their fathers into the system. We can change that by making education and health care available for everyone by having everyone pay into the same system.

Hillary gets the endorsement of Steven Spielberg but does that mean she’s got the nomination? There’s still a long way to go until next November or even June when they hold the convention. There are still things about her I don’t like or trust, such as her support for the war and she’s even more hawkish than Joe Lieberman. Her Mercury retrograde in Scorpio on the South Node shows a lack of forthrightness or the inability to investigate all the facts before making a decision, like on the war authorization in 2002, as she was swept up in the campaign of fear and terror the Bushies created. It is my contention that these attacks were well-coordinated strikes using Arabic men as the alleged perpetrators but the WTC was brought down in demolition style and there is forensic evidence to attest to that fact. It was known just prior to the attacks that global warming was caused by fossil fuels and that we had to cut emissions or die. So they rigged the WTC and sent in planes to make it look like an enemy was attacking us but there could only have been American former military who were capable of getting in and getting it done. Oh I could tell you things about the theories I’ve considered.

Dallas could become the largest American city with an openly gay mayor as Ed Oakly vies against a Republican who is a newcomer to politics and to Dallas. The city knows Ed Oakly as a three term city councilman and he’s done good things there, so could actually win. The only thing stopping him is a possible anti-gay backlash, which I don’t really think will happen. You never know, though, as some redneck might just turn to his wife and say, “Annie, get your gun…we’re gonna shoot us a homo!” She turns to him and stares for a second. “I reckon y’all forgot my maiden name, since he’s my cousin.” Perhaps I did a little time shift there, but as a Pisces, I can imagine those scenarios playing out on some dimension.

Spacewalkers encountered obstacles in their efforts to replace solar arrays on the Space Station. It’s certainly a Mercury retrograde thing as little goes as expected and there are always complications. You’ll see strange things over the next three weeks as nothing flows along anticipated paths and mix-ups are more common than routines. On the other hand, negotiations and treaties that have been cast aside or way-laid might have a chance of getting signed, sealed and delivered. Up in space, things always have a reason for breaking down but these days those events will be more frequent. During the last retrograde there was a glitch in the airport computers and caused a lot of flights to be delayed. That one was Pisces and Aquarius, so air traffic confusion makes sense for that period. This one is all Cancer, so deals with emotional issues, home, family, food, security and defense concerns, as we try to protect ourselves from whatever threats are coming next. However, it’s hard to defend against the indefensible, whatever it may be.

Israel has elected Shimon Peres as President but Olmert is Prime Minister…who is in charge? At least we know Hamas is in charge of Gaza and all because the Israelis built a wall. It’s such a mess in the Holy Land because we have shown unfair preferential treatment of the Jews while the Arabs are getting screwed, glued and tattooed. While I was born a Jew and it is my bloodline on both sides, it doesn’t make me love the nation any more than my own or others around the world that are more pleasant experiences…like New Zealand. But there is no end in sight to the insanity that rages over there. However, there could be some progress in the Mideast but US favoritism to Saudi Arabia has put us in a difficult position with few real friends as we play both sides of the coin. We had bases in Saudi Arabia and now they are in Iraq and Kuwait, but the natives are restless and want us out of the region altogether. Violence in Iraq has increased since the surge as have American deaths and a mosque bombing took out two of the three standing towers. It’s deteriorating at an incredible pace, General and your forces are petering out.

Pebble Beach rejects a golf course that would have plundered acres of coastal forest to make way for an oversized lawn where rich assholes knock around little balls to make up for their own little balls when it comes to human and environmental concerns. Wealthy white men have plenty of places to whack their balls around and bust each others’. They were doing it at the Republican debates. Giuliani would increase troops if asked…he’s blind to the fact that the surge isn’t working, as more troops die every day. It’s really amazing how out of touch he really is and how delusional as he seeks the stage for his four planets in Leo when it’s really all about himself. I wonder what his ex-wives say about how he runs other people’s lives.

Harriet Miers is back in the news along with Sara Taylor, a Rove Assistant, as they have been subpoenaed in the GonzoGate mess they made, trying to destroy democracy and all. I’m gonna love this analysis. Sara is a perfect example of a flunky who wants to do her job and make a change in the world. Only she’s rather confused or deceptive in her core values…possibly fundamentalist or other religious fanaticism is in her background. There is a pall of secrecy that hangs over many people who work for Karl Rove as there is little doubt that he wants nothing revealing to be exposed to the general public. What they don’t know, can’t hurt us, he must be thinking, but what they do know can. This is why newspapers have little in the way of real and relevant news. So when the White House hires a flunky, they have to be malleable and moldable to bend to the will of their evil masters. Such can be the case of such mutable people.

Sara Taylor is a double Virgo, with her Moon lagging a few degrees behind her Sun, showing she’s is the final phase of the lunation cycle and is seeking to jump in on the fall of the neo-Roman Empire. Now that it’s collapsing in on her, she’s jumping ship to pursue a career outside of government. Get me outta here! Anywhere but here! I can hear her screaming now all the way across the country. I might speculate that her future may open up doors in foreign countries, as her North Node is in Sag and yet, Jupiter squares it from Pisces as does Venus from the polarity sign of Virgo and they both square Neptune, close to the NN. What’s all mean, Mister Wizard? Oh, by the way, he died this past week. I’ll get to him later. He lived not far from me, too. Anyway, Sara has a challenge from religion and illusions as Jupiter inflates and increases what is already in effect, so the square to Neptune increases the delusions under which she operates, which works for her boss. Rove is the ultimate delusional as his Mercury retrograde opposite his Moon square Neptune indicate. Back to Sara; she has Mercury in Libra square Saturn in Cancer, so not only is she a slow learner, she also has a hard time with priorities and decision making. Venus in Virgo square Neptune in Sag pits two planets in signs that are so different from their natural signs while in the same mutable modality. She’s so confused about for whom she works and doesn’t understand relationships or who they serve. Jupiter in the T-Square infuses more confusion by the way the government under this administration operates with mystery and deception. With no planetary aspects to Uranus, she has no ideals or principles but with Mars/Pluto conjunction, she certainly has a desire for power and because it’s in Libra, it would have to be other people who have the power that make her use her power for evil. Mercury in Libra and three other planets speaks loudly that the blame lies with others and not her…and her contention is absolutely correct, as she is only guilty by association with the most corrupt government in American history.

Mister Wizard, Don Herbert, passed on to the great experiment in the sky, after suffering from bone cancer. He was a Cancer, with Sun conjoining Mercury near the South Node with Pluto also in close proximity to the SN. His Venus conjunct Neptune and Saturn in Leo shows his joy at having been able to inspire young people to understand the usefulness of the natural sciences such as electricity and magnetism among many experiments meant for children. That stellium trine his Moon in Aries shows the pioneering nature of his soul to boldly go where no one had trodden, as early on, television was a vacuum tube of variety shows, game shows and sitcoms interspersed with dramas both contemporary and western as well as daytime and evening news. Here was something that wasn’t about escapism! This was informational and it may well have inspired the creation of the Public Broadcasting System. Back to his chart; he had Jupiter in Gemini sextile the planets in the fire trine, Moon, Venus, Saturn and Neptune, which makes for a good elementary education endowment as well as giving a strong ability to teach and find fulfillment in it. Mars in Gemini gave him many and varied interests and its trine to Uranus in Aquarius accounts for his desire to fly and in WWII went from a private in the Army to a Captain in the Air Force, flying bombers into battle. Cancer is the defender of the realm and the Moon trine Saturn allowed a rapid advancement in rank and gave him a deep sense of loyalty and dedication and as the Moon trines all the Leo planets, a generally all around good guy who liked to instruct others. He will be missed by me and many others, as he was a formative influence in the lives of many boomers. He was our hero.

The Summer Solstice is a powerful time of year as the Sun in its full glory shines the longest in the Northern Hemisphere. Ancients have long observed the rituals of the solstices and equinoxes at such power places as the great pyramids and Stonehenge as well as Native American sites in the Southwest. Some rituals are a part of the pure Spirit Of The One manifested in natural cycles. Some rituals divide us but pure higher principles unite us. We all have ideals but can’t always agree on what they are because of our separate programming and personal journeys. It is what gives each of us our own personal set of standards and practices, as there are in many professions.

There are some astrologers whose ethical standards are blind to the realities of contemporary counseling. There are those who refuse to read the chart of a client’s spouse unless the spouse is there in the room. So we can’t talk about others when they aren’t present? We who counsel have a moral and ethical obligation toward our client first and to our profession second, unless we are counseling an oppressive force of evil like Hitler or Bush, so we have to tell them the truth whether or not they want to hear it, as long it is true to their purpose. If someone knows their life purpose requires them to transform their attitudes, the change will not happen all at once, but it will come to pass that the reading that was harsh at first thought became exactly what they needed to know at that point. People are who they are and they have two sides at least that they could express, as embodied in their very gender. Many beautiful women in this life would have been harsh dominators of women in prior lives just as men who are cross dressers or transsexuals were women in their former lives and need that feminine expression as a balance to the harsh maleness of their current life. Seeing people for who they really are is a difficult and troubling thing for some as the reality of the revelation shocks many people hearing of their potential as souls to repel away from astrology as a form of divination, wanting more nebulous pronouncements and vague descriptions to give them freedom to interpret what their life choices are about. It’s not that everyone wants to avoid facing their true inner selves but there are many who actively avoid facing down the devils within and live in denial of their high potentials.

I am no savior and would never want to take on that kind of societal responsibility, as there is way too much media attention on those who take on large issues on a global scale. I actually don’t see mankind as ready to take on the responsibility of saving themselves as a collective nor as individuals. We have had many opportunities to take a step back and reorient our collective direction and have suffered the consequences of bad choices being offered and worse ones being made by far too many people. The fact is that we need a new kind of social contract, like the New Deal of the 30’s and it has to restore the rights of all individuals and establish a re-dedication to the principles that this country was built on in the first place and the second place, when the country had to re-join after the Civil War and in the third place, after the Great Depression. We have to mend the rifts that separate us and reinforce the ones that unite us if we are to survive as a species. I fear that the only thing that would unite us is a force that could destroy us all, which could be anything from global warming to alien invasion. I saw a bit of Mars Attacks last weekend and that triggered my reference. And now, the Sun is sextile Mars and trine Pluto later this week, so here is Mars.

There’s a New Moon Thursday and it’s the day before Mercury retrograde begins, which is a bit of a freak out, since the lunation is about new beginnings but you can’t really start anything new with the retrograde, as things are likely going in a direction different from what you would like. It is a time to renew things that you have been procrastinating or go back to something left incomplete. We often have far too many things to do and too little time in which to get them done. We aren’t getting any younger and time doesn’t stand still, although it would seem like that at the entrance to a black hole. We aren’t there, however, so in the here and now, it’s time to see what craziness we’re up to these days. Insanity, thy name is Sun square Uranus, as you rebel against the very ideals of a social democracy. It could be construed as egotistical globalization. Mars trine Saturn gives powerful productive energy and uses it to accomplish goals and establish a structure for activation of strategies. The life force of the Sun sextile both infuses this pattern with vitality and the impetus to throw some personal flair or self-expression into the project, projecting strength and confidence in the process. Just on the heels of this strong effort, along comes a Mars sextile Neptune and Sun trine Neptune on Wednesday when we channel that energy into spiritual or creative pursuits to inspire others or even yourself, perhaps dancing around your house for a little crazy moment.

Venus and Saturn are in Leo in the 12th house as this show begins, so there are some issues about jail or imprisonment I want to discuss. With Moon in Aries approaching Mars tomorrow and Venus in Leo on its way to meet Saturn in a few weeks, it seems to me that many people are essentially selfish and arrogant in how they treat others and the planet. If everyone had the slightest awareness of how their actions affected others and their environment, this would be a whole lot different world. We take too much for granted and give too little back to the Mother that has sustained us well throughout our history. In turn, we have trashed and polluted her incessantly for centuries and made it worse by tearing apart mountains and destroying entire ecosystems with mining and manufacturing chemicals that kill off everything in their toxic wake. As one who grew up in the suburbs and the city as well as spending time in the wilderness, I know how life is and can be with awareness and caring about where you live. In the city, you think the city will pick up your trash and clean up after you and to a certain extent they do. In the suburbs, there is peer pressure from neighbors to take care of your property and the area around it, so that dumping stuff on the side of the road won’t happen very often out there. In the more rural areas, it can go either way, depending on the general economic condition of the residents in the vicinity and it may depend on what flag they’re flying.

Flag Day is on the New Moon and we could use a new flag, too. We have just kept adding stars to the old one and haven’t changed the design to fit with our changing nation. We could make it a crazy-quilt patchwork, with each square representing a different state but all of them adding up to one picture of an eagle swooping down towards its prey. That would represent the current predatory nature of our country’s policies in the world. When the next administration takes over, I would then like to see it as a dove with a Red Cross on it as it carries bandages to the wounded and suffering. The 50 stars could make up many different constellations that are apropos to our American history and landscape. The next president could be involved in deciding what our next flag should look like, as our nation must change with each new administration to adjust and compensate for the previous regime. Purple would be an excellent blend of red and blue because if you add white it turns lavender and that’s too gay a color, if you’ll pardon the apparent political incorrectness. You see, while it’s considered rude to say something or someone is gay, it’s considered more of a problem if someone is actually gay to most straight Christians who live in fear of wrong-doing. The flag is a representation of a nation and should reflect more than the number of states that are a part of it. Mexico has an eagle holding a banner flying across a field of red, white and green. Many southern hemisphere nations have the Southern Cross on their flag, yet it isn’t as significant as the Northern Cross, which is an actual cross as opposed to a kite-shaped formation. I would love a seven color flag but that is the flag of the gay nation, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Back to the holiday of Flag Day, which has only been a holiday for 91 years, it’s a state holiday only on PA, wherein Betsy Ross designed and created the first flag on which the current one is based. We don’t need a constitutional amendment to make it a crime to trash it but we do need a reason to honor it, which our current government hasn’t given us since assuming office in 2001 in what could be called a virtual coup. They tell us to honor the troops while the congress and president under-serves them while the armed forces over-serve their tours of duty. It’s sad that our great military has been so spent with so little tangible results. We stepped into a sand trap and can’t hack our way out of the bunker. What’s really galling is to hear Sec-Def Bob Gates comparing WWII to this occupation in Iraq. “We once again face enemies seeking to destroy our way of life…” No we’re not…they just want us out of there and to take our military bases with us. The only reason we’re there is for the oil and we can’t get it so we’re killing as many people as we have to until we get the oil. President Bush…you need to stop fighting for what’s not yours and what has to be eliminated as a source of fuel anyway. It’s destroying us in so many ways but especially with toxic poisons that pollute your lungs and everything that needs oxygen to survive.

National ID cards are a bad idea as is English as the national language. Where are you going to ship immigrants from war-torn or poverty-stricken or draught-ravaged countries if they haven’t had time to learn English? This neo con regime is looking more like Nazi Germany everyday and with everything they do to diminish the rights and liberties of the American people. Security rules are hard enough to enforce and yet, to let the TB guy get through our borders when someone could have pulled him aside makes you wonder how safe we are. While it is true that the guy wasn’t as infectious as the media claimed, perhaps it was the media playing fast and loose with the facts that we have to be concerned about more. Believe some of what you hear and little of what you read but you have to believe what you see, if there is credible evidence that it’s real. After all, pictures can be photo-shopped and movies and TV can be edited. And did you hear about the new passports? It’s almost like my idea for the neo con flag. If these people had their way, you would have a computer chip implanted in your forehead with the mark of the beast on it and all of your credit and criminal information will be contained therein and access codes will allow the apparently appropriate people to procure the programs in your cerebral cortex. Your retina will be scanned at terminals to allow you access to places that the public is forbidden and the informational scan of the eye can also diagnose chemical imbalance and diseases or organ problems. If only they would use their powers for good instead of evil, it would be so much better of a world. Back to passports a second, I am hearing that renewals take up to 12 weeks because of a backlog, since they required passports for travel to Mexico and Canada. But with such a problem, someone figured out that they should ease that restriction, thus allowing freer travel between neighboring countries. Imagine that! They actually fixed a problem they caused!

Flirtation and fickleness are problems with the Gemini nature and it’s very common to flit and fly from one lover to another. It’s common to be attracted to one who looks like you or has many of the same interests or attributes, as we seek reflective personalities when loaded with Gemini. Who could be almost as much me as I am? Where can I find someone just like me? The fact is you can’t unless you have a twin or other multiples and even then, they are individuals because of time of birth. Otherwise, good luck finding someone born on your birthday not of the same genetic material and I know of only two couples so lucky. Right now, the planets of love and sex are in signs that are quite fickle in general, as the Moon and Mars in Aries are restless and impulsive as well as impatient and get bored easily, so will move on to the next affair. The Gemini Sun is like blowing in the wind, and of course, Bob Dylan is a Gemini, but it goes this way and that, never really deciding so much as taking it all in and moving along with the crowd to see the pictures of an exhibitionist. Finally, Venus in Leo is the last of the red hot lovers, as romance, charm, daring and bravery are all historic qualities for the Leo ego to express. These are also signs associated with bisexuality, along with Libra, Aquarius and Pisces although anyone can go both ways if they are attuned to the special open place within themselves and realize their spirit has no gender, only the body does and sometimes that’s confused, too.

Gemini wordsmithing and gamesmanship is astounding in its repercussive effects. Greedy Giuliani is wailing away about national security when he stupidly put the emergency unit in the WTC towers after he was told he needed to move it away from a targeted area. Nominating his sidekick and partner in crime, Bernie Kerick as Homeland Security head was another blow to his credibility as should be the corruption and multiple marriages and cross-dressing and his abuse of the NYFD and NYPD, along with volunteers at Ground Zero who have health problems no one wants to cover. Rationalization and intellectualization is the Gemini-zation that maintains their reputation as leaders in communication, as any variation of information can be the ruination of the opposition. As for their repetition, it is their ammunition with which they can commission a petition or pursue an inquisition, whatever…it’s their decision.

There are many ways of seeing life and the world as some see it in black and white while others see the many-hued colors of the spectrum and beyond to the 256 colors of the computer and more that are in reality. Certain people are ideologically narrow-minded and yet, their view, which isn’t a working model for life, is imposed on a whole lot of people until those who follow a lost leader wake up. I’m talking about several different leaders, as this is an applicable scenario for Bush, the Pope, Putin and several others around the world who have lost favor with their alleged faithful. In the Vatican, ‘a deranged man’ jumped onto the pope-mobile in an effort to attract attention, so it is said. Here’s the thing, though; the pope has offended many Muslims and also Brazilians with his insults of their beliefs and ways. It isn’t going to help gain adherents to a false god, idol-worshipping cult-like religion when they protect criminals and shuffle around fugitives from the law.

Selling the presidency is insane and shouldn’t be so arbitrary a process. Candidates either need equal time to present their answers or solutions to the questions and problems that face the president. It’s not a beauty contest or academic decathlon, which might be a solution for the American people to consider. Wouldn’t you want the smartest people competing for the right to lead the country? Rudy should have been struck by lightning himself instead of just his mike. He’s so far from a man of God that it defies explanation how he can say otherwise. Should we have a test of strength? I say we put all the candidates on an island in two tribes…the red tribe and the blue tribe and one person will come out the presidential survivor!

Bullshit terror threats spread fear faster than fire but they are almost all meaningless and can be completely ignored, since there isn’t a credible threat other than from the White House. Why are they putting missiles in Poland? Are they expecting the return of Communism or fascism? Bush is selling his same old shit and Eastern Europeans aren’t buying a drop of it. Putin may be a Libra but he’s not a nice guy and could take out Bush in hand-to-hand combat in under a minute, as he’s a martial arts expert, as well as former head of the KGB. This is one of the problems we’re facing with Jupiter traveling over Bush’s Sag South Node as it brings up all the over-blown global-egotism from the past and the bad old days of the Cold War. That was the war Condi was prepared to fight, by the way, not the hot one with terrorists that requires completely different tactics and strategies. The military is so thoroughly out of its element because instead of the normal slow but effective system of chain of command, they have outsourced services to civilian contractors that have ripped off the government horribly. Well, they finally nabbed one who stole over 3 large from the DoD. Jupiter square the Nodes could have a lot to do with governmental corruption and lies.

This same influence might have something to do with the departure of our local high school principal and the lowering of school academic standards all across the country. Here in Calabasas, a quiet little suburban town on the edge of the metropolitan area but nestled in the hills just beyond most of it, some bitchy soccer moms with nothing better to do than shop and play tennis or work on their tans have driven our successful administrator from his post, handing in a hasty request for transfer away from these psycho Liliths and Sybils. If these ladies of the PTA can run a school any better, why don’t they get a degree in scholastic administration or whatever the degree might be and try to do it themselves? It’s easier to complain from the sidelines than to get in and do the work itself. That goes for a lot of different businesses but you want the professionals to do what they allege they do best, as that’s the way we have come to be in this country.

It used to be the land of the can-do spirit where everything that was needed was grown or made right on your own land with the resources at your disposal. That phase of evolution lasted as long as independent living did and in some places, still does. But as civilization grew, so did specialization. As a man, I feel that I can do anything that is necessary for survival except give birth to a child and there might even be a way for that to happen, if I went through some significant bodily modifications. But my attitude is that I’ve done it in previous lives and can do it again in subsequent lives, if need be. I am not limited by fear of death or the unknown or heights or small spaces, having been through it all in the past. I am not afraid of cold or heat, as I can endure either if I am prepared for the experience. Captivity is not a favorite of anyone, but having endured that for a time, I know I am better equipped for it due to a rich inner life and physical discipline, as well as the ability to suffer pain. I am not saying I am super-human, although that should be our collective aspiration but rather that I have already been punished by the universe for just being here and having karma that had to be paid off. I still have some issues that I understand but haven’t completely eliminated but awareness is the first step towards redemption and transcendence of troubled backgrounds. It’s no wonder we don’t know which way to go or what to do with our lives. We need people to become more engaged in what goes on in the world and in a way, it has begun, in the form of blogs and forums on the Internet.

Knowledge is power but wisdom is the proper use of knowledge and the cultivation of a talent for synthesizing information into useful offerings of tidbits that have profound significance. Jesus, Buddha and Confucius are the most prominent wise men I can think of who have done that. Like this statement; God is the fabric of the universe of which we are all woven. That’s one of my own, but is what they had all done…sum up very large concepts with very simple sayings. It is common for those who question to answer themselves from many different points of view, depending upon what they have read, heard, seen, thought or experienced but the last is the best teacher for it is the one that has the most substance. When you do things rather than intellectually process the concept, it has greater truth for having been real to you. Most else is imagination-driven as your mind has to recreate the experience you yourself didn’t have. It is when you have something that it becomes substantial and yet, you have thoughts all the time but are they actual things? I had this debate with a Capricorn early on in my post-college life and since I never took Philosophy 101, it was more instinctive views of the way life worked that I was used to perceiving it through. I believed thoughts became things with focus and intention to achieve them but I realize that is a product of my Saturn in the 3rd house. With that and Jupiter in my 9th along with the Moon, I could have gone into a political life a long time ago. Oh wait…I did and it was how I met my wife, who had benefited by the party I worked for. It’s strange how destiny leads you to experience that which you must if you follow the path you were intended to explore. It’s experiencing your own truth and you’ll do it instinctively when you have Moon in the 9th house, which leads to relocation of residence a great distance from where you were born. It also leads to seeking truth and spreading it. Geminis can cover a lot of territory and never leave the confines of their own mind, since the mind can conceive of anything and writing it makes it so for some people.

We don’t have enough people serving in the diplomatic corps, probably because diplomacy is dead or comatose. One reason might be that children aren’t taught civics in school anymore since Reagan and Bush cut funding for education and eliminated the better, more accurate and more expensive history books. Just look at what has happened in the last quarter century of Republicanism in this country. Our nation ranks lower in every positive indicator of First World stature and is higher in illiteracy and lower in health care than ever before in our history. Tom Jefferson and Ben Franklin were major promoters of public and free education for Americans so we could be smarter and more innovative on the world stage. Today’s government has taken that from us and so many of the other things that have distinguished us as the greatest country in the world that made everyone in the world want to come here. Everyone in the administration is either under indictment or resigning to spend more time with their family, like Dan Bartlett, a Gemini Bush-clone, who has the typical conservative chart and leaves Rove as the last Texan standing. Dan was probably an Atlantean warrior with Mars in Aquarius in a grand trine with Sun and Uranus in Libra. The narrow mind comes from Mercury/Venus and Saturn all in Taurus trine the Moon/Pluto making for the good little worker bee for the big, scary corrupt corporate monkeys that jump for oil and pharmaceutical money.

There are also fewer quality people drawn into civil service, as many who serve are there as a last resort type of job. If more good people would enter the world of politics as watchdogs to hold our politicians accountable, we wouldn’t have this mess. Elected officials are the representatives of the people, so we need to have citizen groups watching over the elected officers of the public trust so we know we can trust them. It used to be that the news media was the guardian of the public back when independent papers and radio or TV networks were owned by private citizens concerned about public policy. Now, with more unregulated consolidation, there hasn’t been an invocation of an anti-trust suit in a coon’s age and I mean the raccoon, not as a racial slur. There is an organization already up and operating in Washington for several years, CREW, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. Citizensforethics.org is their web address because CREW.org was taken by Cascadia Region Earthquake Group, a Northwestern Earthquake awareness and preparation site who apparently had the acronym first, having arisen in the 90’s, the early days of the Internet.

We are nothing, if not a nation of laws and rules for conduct, which is directed at an astounding number of areas in our lives. Some laws are natural laws, like we shouldn’t run off of cliffs and plunge to our deaths, since the law of gravity would kill us in most cases. There are laws of morality that no one should have to write down when an awareness of the law of cause and effect should teach you that when you do something bad to someone, something equal happens to you, since the law of attraction works as it should. You put out a certain kind of energy and it tends to be drawn to you and it has been called the Golden Rule. I suppose this has a lot to do with Saturn in a sextile to the Sun right now but it’s also inconjunct Uranus and could be a reason why celebrities are getting caught not following the common laws of the land. It’s also a case of reasoned thinking being on vacation, perhaps permanently in the cases of Paris, Britney or Lindsay. An Aquarius, a Sag and a Cancer, who are not exactly the types to learn from their lessons.

America’s built-in morality is written in the Declaration of Independence, when it speaks of what we as a nation stand for and to what we aspire. There is a certain morality in these words from our Declaration of Independence.
WE hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness -- That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
Those few words, of all the ones written in the Constitution and the rest of the Declaration, sum up what our nation is about and what we have failed to do in the last few years that we need to do. This wasn’t a conceptual theoretical or abstract idea but a solution to the problem of tyranny that we are facing from this current administration. Elections don’t constitute enough of a change of government, truth be told, at least not with the rate of recidivism, or re-election, as they call it.

There’s been discussion of a pardon for Scooter, who should go to prison for 30 months and Paris Hilton should have stayed in jail forever…or at least all of three weeks and a couple of days. But instead, the whiny little twit weaseled her way out early by having some medical or psychological disorder that made it impossible for them to take care of her adequately, so they gave her an ankle bracelet and were going to monitor her at her home. Yeah, that’s some hard time that bitch is doing! What, she had a nervous breakdown?! Give me a break! She just couldn’t stand it that no one was taking pictures of her and everyone still wanted her ass. The judge calls her back to court and she tries to phone it in. No sweetheart, get your ass in front of the judge! Now she’ll do 40 horrible days in jail, poor thing. Maybe she’ll get a Kathy Bates type of cell mate as in the movie Misery. Back to Libby, many are wondering if he’ll ever do a day in the can but a president can’t pardon the guy until after he’s served the time, I thought. These are more effects of the miscarriage of justice that’s rampant with Jupiter square the nodes.

Corruption doesn’t live on one side of the aisle nor does it gravitate to one ethnicity as Democratic Louisiana congressman William Jefferson proves. He’s been indicted for a number of charges including bribery, so let’s see what he has going on in his chart. First of all, I find it fascinating that he is born just two days after Mitt the shit Romney, as I have pointed out before that people on both sides of the aisle can be born a day apart or even on the same day. First off, as for honesty and public trust, I look to Jupiter and its proximity to the Sag South Node should have anyone who knows astrology concerned, as he, like Mitt, has betrayed public trust through dishonest dealings. Jefferson’s deceptive Yod is cause for alarm with Mercury/Mars in Pisces quincunx Neptune sextile Pluto, which is exactly opposite his natal Venus, a prime candidate for seduction into the dark side of political usership. The Venus-Pluto opposition is bad enough to attract corruption but it is the square they make to Chiron that shows a chronic and deep-rooted wound at the base of all of it. His Pisces Sun square Moon in Sag is a basic enough identity crisis but Uranus is involved with both natally, as it is in Gemini, opposite the Moon and square the Sun and transit Uranus on his Sun, it’s really crazy and chaotic. He’s facing 245 years for all his charges, for goodness sake! He’s a crooked little man with crooked little values and obsessed with doing better without a sense of the consequences for doing it the wrong way.

We are all diseased, as George Carlin is fond of saying, but we can get better by understanding yourself through astrology. Consider these factors first. Do you diagnose your own illness? Do you test yourself on a school exam? Can you analyze your own shit objectively or does it help to have a professional psychologist aid you in reflecting about your unresolved issues? So it is with astrology, as you can't be objective about your chart and even if you could, it takes years of reading and studying with other older and professional astrologers to gain from their wisdom and experience, as I have done for thirty three years. You can assess an astrologer's insight just in the first call as to whether or not you feel a connection but be prepared to spend at least an hour and a hundred bucks or so for the session. I have been counseling and guiding young seekers for a long time and most of them turn out fine.

A client of mine posed an interesting question to me about what kinds of power there are. I considered it and came up with this concept. The planets are like colors of the spectrum and the Sun is the source of light that allows those individual expressions of color.
Mental Power is expressed through the rulers of the lower and higher mind, Mercury and Jupiter. These allow the information to be perceived, processed, analyzed and expanded through experience into wisdom, then develop a philosophy about the meaning of it all. Mercury is the rational logic with which we study things as students while Jupiter is the teacher who has learned far more than necessary for survival and must pass that knowledge on to others to open the door to adventure that they may pursue.
Our Emotional power is shown in the reflections of the phases of the Moon and Venus, as they are the most visibly changing orbs in the sky, with only Saturn’s rings an obvious change in visual appearance, as the rings have a seasonal tilting action. The Moon rules the tides and fluids in the body are affected by this rising and decreasing energy, hence produce moods and shifting emotions. Venus, on the other hand, seeks stability and security though more substantial things than feelings, seeking quality and financial prosperity or potential for stability.
The realm of the Spirit is indicated by Uranus, for the electrical connection to the universal mind and Neptune for its cosmic boundary-lessness and fluid acceptance of all that is part of the vast whole oneness that is God. Uranus allows us to know without doubt or question that things are the way they are and there is nothing to fear in the strange and crazy universe where anything can happen and at anytime. Meanwhile, back at Neptune, it’s the ultimate unifying principle of the universe as we understand the unifying, underlying and undying spirit and that we are all part of a cosmic One.
Physical power is of a Mars and Saturn nature as the impulse to act is indicated by the warrior planet and the determination to finish is by the ancient master of the physical plane of reality, Saturn. It is not the beginning of the journey that gets you to the goal but the commitment to attain your destination that determines success or failure. When you empower yourself with the physical strength to get you to the goal, it is up to you to be disciplined and restrained enough that you don’t overpower your friends or rivals.
Obviously, the Sun is source of all power in the solar system, as its rays provide the source for what we need to sustain life on Earth. As it expresses outward energy that radiates the life force, it is associated with love and creativity. The power of love is awesome.

This past week, we went to two fundraisers…at country clubs, so not my scene…but I put on the nice clothes and went out with my wife to raise money for medicine for African kids and for the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce. The food was excellent and the bidding wasn’t as ferocious as Jane thought it might be and we came away having made donations for three things at one event and only one at the second. But that one is Dodger tickets and a gift certificate at one of my favorite retailers of fine Hawaiian shirts. Speaking of sports, isn’t it awesome that the Mighty Ducks won the Stanley Cup? This is a team that had an identity crisis and an underdog status due to its film origins. For the team by Disneyland, this is a fantasy come true and the stars were out. The LA Times article on the victory was written by the recently transformed Christine Daniels, who underwent SRS last month. It’s cool to read about a team and a town that have been so transformed written by a transsexual writer.

In August, Jupiter will be as close to Antares as it will come until 11 years from now, and when it does, Mars will enter Gemini and oppose it at 10 degrees, just when Venus has retrograded into an opposition to Neptune, which can mean a great sacrifice of life and property as a result of increased war, as the surge proves itself a failure and the legacy of the Bush administration will carry that taint throughout history.
In 1960, Jupiter in Sag squared the nodes and Nixon was already plotting his takeover of the hemisphere, after he had control of the country a little better. First victim would be Cuba and his plans for invasion would be implemented after he took office as president. He was the last pirate of the Caribbean and look who is having a birthday. Avast, ye lubbers!

6-10 Elliot Spitzer is Governor of NY and gets no love or respect from the powerful as he has Leo Moon/Venus/Mars quincunx Saturn in Capricorn, since he has gone after the wealthy and powerful stock market insider traders. His Leo stellium is also square Neptune, so he could have had some gay experiences, although it’s often about disappointment and disillusionment, which can happen severely in politics when you can’t get your agenda through. John Edwards has the same aspect as several of the presidential candidates; Moon conjunct Jupiter, which gives an instinctive connection to the law, in his case, as a lawyer and senator. There’s also a need to move on to bigger and better things and adventures as well as wider national exposure. Moon/Jupiter people are bigger than life in a way and are more than they seem but can be generous or bigoted, as judgment runs deep and reaction is large. (several times, including ‘05)

Hugh Laurie has four planets in Leo and of them, three are square Neptune, so he’s able to get attention by playing the sympathy card. No…that’s not really it. It can be described as deception and lack of empathy for others, which is almost how he plays his character. They are also aspects one can find in the charts of gay and bisexual people. There is often disappointment, disillusionment, deception and victimization, as well as putting others in that position, as the abused becomes the abuser. He’s actually a brilliant and creative actor with a talent for dialects, who was born in Oxford, England, that land of the English language. Things are always in the process of change but this week is even more intense as the crazy aspects I mentioned at the top of the show are global effects of these astrological-born energies. Uranus is the planet of the future and what lies in store for us when it enters Aries and squares Pluto may chill you to the bone when you look back at the last square in 1933 and realize that was when Hitler secured his power in Germany. The next year for this aspect to happen is…2012. Right. The world won’t end but there are people who will wish it had. If we don’t alter the path our government is taking, it will lead to the end of the world as we know it. There will be soldiers everywhere checking your national ID card and the number stamped onto your forehead with the prefix of 666. This is not the hour of prophecy and the beast will not take you to hell but watch out for governments holding hands with big industry as a sign of the apocalypse and when they jump into bed together with religion, you have a recipe for social disaster. Don’t let it ever be suggested that nobody warned you. This country is a social experiment that has been hijacked by a mad scientist and his evil staff. It’s all too much for me…I can’t stand it anymore. I have to have some acid rock! Next week is the first of four retrograde shows. Memorial Day weekend was a memorable one for me, as it was the first time I had ever attended an astrological conference, other than in 1984 as a performer in which I portrayed Uranus and introduced the entertainment as Rod Serling. I was traveling in another dimension last week when I landed in Seattle after an early morning flight and emerged into a hotel full of astrologers who were speaking my language. You can only speak degrees with one who speaks astrologese. It was as if I had returned to my home world and was generally accepted and appreciated by most of those with whom I was connecting for the first time. There were some who weren't too enthused about my contributions to my friend, Kristin's class on Lilith, which some would find ironic, but it was her first time teaching at a conference and while she was comfortable on the radio with me for over a year, I thought it might help her if I pitched a few things into the flow. She totally understood my good intentions but I was chastised by the Capricorn who runs the conference, as the classes are recorded for the purpose of archives and distribution. They are as professional as they want to be. That's fine and I was compliant throughout the rest of the classes, most of which were fascinating, especially when the presenter really knew their stuff. I attended a class taught by the godfather of modern astrology, Rob Hand, who is the main proponent of ancient techniques and texts, called Hellenistic Astrology. He's translated astrological Latin texts at the request of the Catholic Church. It was the first day of the conference and I had gone to a class on mythology and healing, which wasn't as advertised and being tired from a short night's sleep, was dozing off, even if the sweet Cancer teacher knew her stuff. She just drifted too much for me to stay awake and I drifted in and out of awareness. So, on the first day, I was either totally flaccid or fluid and focused. Finishing Friday, fantastic Steven Forrest focused on the future of astrology, a nice capper to a day which had Jeff Jawer kick off the weekend with a talk about If Astrology Ruled the World. It was on the first day that I met a guy with whom I felt an immediate kinship and stuck up a friendship wherein we discovered that we had come a thousand limes to meet someone who lived fifteen minutes away. We ended that night taking a couple hits of sacred herb and going our respective ways for the rest of the conference, although with many pleasant greetings along the way.

Day two was off to a start with breakfast at the table next to Maggie, the grandmother of NORWAC, as she started it 24 years ago. It's great to catch up after 26 or so years since meeting around my Saturn return, as we all change in the years that give us experience and hopefully the wisdom to teach from what we've learned. Her Sun is right on my Jupiter, so I know there is a lot of good that can come of that positive contact and association. My first class of the day was Kristin's Lilith class, which I have described. After lunch, a favorite humorous astro-writer, Kim Rogers-Gallagher, talked about Pluto's demotion to dwarf planet, and she wasn't happy about it, either. Keeping in that same topic, I was moved to give Maurice Fernandez another chance, as I had attended a Neptune weekend he did in LA back in 2003. His topic was one of my interests and studies, having lived in Hollywood, West Hollywood, Venice and near Beverly Hills; Gays, Bi's, CD and Transsexuality in the chart. While it was fascinating, his presentation was slow and not fluid and also suggested that Bill Clinton was bisexual. Now if he had said Hillary is, then he would have been on to something. There were some interesting charts he showed and explained but I could teach him a thing or two…hundred. The late class was my first poke into Evolutionary Astrology a philosophical overview, by Kim Marie, a disciple of Jeffrey Wolf Green's school, as Kristin is but Kim set out the system for us to consider.

Saturday night was a wild affair as the dinner led into a raffle (I didn't win anything) and we had a keynote speech by a local gay astrologer, Mikel Poulsen, whose title was, "You can't read everything you believe." To say it was ironical humor is an understatement as he thoroughly entertained us all. It inspired me to take his class of the next day, which I will come to soon enough. Afterward, and with much mingling, a dance ensued with DJ and a hardwood dance floor and people appeared to enjoy the strange and eclectic mix of musaic from James Brown to Vanilla Ice. I met many interesting people that day, as I was better rested than the day before and was able to connect with others who began to recognize me for who I am. I was finding out things about others in attendance, as well and gravitated over to the film maker who is also an astrologer, making a documentary on astrology. We talked about my film script and while he was enthusiastic and interested, it'll take him a year to finish this one first. That's perfect because we need to get the nation a little more introduced to what our science is all about before we can tell the stories to wider and more accepting audiences. Although an entertaining film about a subject can often open up the public to that very subject. By this point, I'm already flying high and enjoying the hell out of myself. I was able to swim a little that morning, too and while in the pool, met an Oregonian astrologer named Verdarluz, a Taurus with Gemini rising whose skinny little body barely made a splash in the pool by he was heavy with talent and intelligence, so we connected with the creative imagination of astro-entertainment's possibilities. Next year, we'll put on a show that will knock them out and make them want to jump and shout.

Sunday morning I had breakfast with a Cancer mother of four from Florida who was rooming with my new friend from MySpace, Sarah, so I sat and we ate and the waitress was fascinated with my description of her double Leo personality. Sheena was a good little waitress who was eager to please. We later found out that she has 8 planets in fire and only the outer two in earth and water, which is extremely rare. It usually only happens when a stellium form lots of trines. I printed out her chart before I left the next day because I'm a nice guy and I can't believe no one else tipped her like that! I may have altered the destiny of that little 19 year old waitress in a major way that could change the world. She has Jupiter in the 10th, so could do great things and her Moon is on the North Node in the 9th, so she will have the opportunity to experience the things she needs to make it to the top. The morning class I took was on astro-sociology by Jeff Jawer, who has a background in theater, I gather, because he is a fluid and confident teacher and was interesting from the minute he began speaking until he was done. He talked about an aspect in my chart for which, alone, I should purchase the tape of the class. But he and his partner at StarIQ, Rick Levine, brought it home to me that I wasn't the only smart poetic or funny astrologer. Phillip Sedgwick, who was MC of the banquets every evening, is a Scorpio with a wicked sense of humor, as well being a writer.

After lunch, the speaker was Gloria Star who is active in politics as well and focused on an astrologer's role in the collective process, so I wanted to talk with her, which I was able to do that evening. She talked about her political experiences and I told her that I would like to discuss the political scene in an astrological forum. Perhaps she is another with whom I will develop some interesting exchanges in the coming months about the candidates for president as well as the right wing nut cases in office. My first afternoon class was on the essential sexual nature as shown by the sexual planets, Pluto, Mars and Venus by Mark Jones, an English Pisces who wore shades throughout the presentation. His emphasis was on the generational influences of Pluto and the elemental effects on the intimate sexual planets, Venus and Mars. It was fascinating to hear another perspective of the same thing I and others have done in seeing deep rooted obsessions within each Plutonian generation. My notes are spotty in most of these classes because I get caught up in what they are saying and processing their ideas with my knowledge and the questions I have for them and the patience I have to exhort for myself as others ask their questions which don't answer mine. I suppose since the conference ended with the Moon in Scorpio and I'm an 8th house person, it was appropriate for me to take those classes.

But then I did something for the fun of it and because I had enjoyed Mikel's keynote address and because he reminded me of a big teddy bear with humor and business acumen, as well as serious professional accomplishments, I took a class on knowing when you're ready to do readings. Well, I had so many years of doing readings behind me that I could have shared many of my experiences, but as he is a Leo with Moon in Capricorn, I decided to let him have the whole stage and the power that goes with it. It was just that his charm and sparkle were delightful in a gay way but not too gay. Everyone needs a gay best friend and I don't have one in the astrological community and he's up in Seattle, not that there's anything wrong with that. He got out of Utah, for god's sake! He should be rewarded for that. He talked about valuing your skills and pricing your services, which reminds me. I have to raise my prices as it seems I have been undercharging for a long time and those who have gotten readings from me have had such an incredible run of bargains that they should always remember my generosity and forever be grateful. Okay, I am not the master philosopher, scholar and teacher that Rob Hand is and I was honored to meet him and listen to him on a couple of times, including his concluding sermon on the mount of astrological morality and ethics. His lecture explored the various cultural influences that help determine how we can counsel people to become the best person they can be, given the condition of their chart. It was a stirring and inspiring talk about how we aspire to greater things than our civilization can begin to imagine in their mundane dualistic thinking. Some of these terms are my own synthesizing, as I wish I could recall all of his illumined words and perhaps will have to buy the recording of the speech. The man who wrote the astro codes for some of the earliest astrology computer programs had compiled them into some of the best books on astrology in the 70's and I bought them all when they came out. It was he who explained to me for the first time about the vertex and how to calculate it although it took me years to figure out other expressions for it than the ones he gave, which were about fated or destined qualities to relationships in composites. I have found that it also has to do with how your energy is released to the world as it seeks expression away from self. Without Rob Hand to carry on some of the great older traditions of astrology, the world would be a poorer place. By the way, I did take Hand's class on relationships and it was fascinating to hear his esteemed take on the topic. In fact, it was heaven.

I have an understanding of some of the principles of Hellenistic Astrology but I like the outer planets and Chiron too much to part with my way of doing things.

One of the things said about Rob was his generosity in giving his time to young seekers. Apparently a lot of that rubbed off on me as I spent my last night with two seekers, Wolfdreamer, a Cancer and Sharon, a Libra, who did the workshop on past lives I wanted to do before coming. So we spent perhaps three hours in my room with their charts and their husband's charts on my computer and analyzed the present in light of past incarnations. They were blown away at how many things I hit on that they already knew about and no one in the conference seemed to have any knowledge or interest in exploring this field as much as I have. I suppose we all come to the study from a unique perspective that is indicated by the very chart we must study to learn how to be a better self. After a long night, I spent a nice day with Jackie, the Cancer from Florida, which began with breakfast then turned to lunch and my first escape from the hotel. We went to Claim Jumper with their wildly huge portions and I was careful to stick to grilled Salmon and grilled asparagus. During our conversation, it came out that she and Kelly, the film maker were already working on a project together and it would be great to further expand the astrological movie genre with my film in the coming year or two. She might also hook up with my friend and student who does my website as she does music, too and could do the soundtrack or part of it.

It was an exhilarating weekend although I left the conference a poorer man financially, as I brought 3 Franklins and spent them all on astrology books, jewelry, a T-shirt, a couple of DVD's and of course, several meals. Everything seemed to be 3 bills; the conference, the airfare and the hotel. Didn't do any room service or get a massage, although I thought it was cool that Sea-Tac has a massage bar where you can get rubbed while clothed for about 20 bucks for 15 minutes. There are also an incredible array of dining facilities in each terminal and a huge courtyard with food and a bunch of shops. Nowhere to be found, however, was Sasquatch or anything resembling it. Only once during my stay did I venture out into the Southern Seattle town of Tukwila, except to eat lunch on the last day with my new Florida friend, Jackie, the Cancer, who wouldn't turn down a chance to eat and talk with someone she likes and we clicked. She's a big girl, standing almost 6 feet tall and here I am, 5'10" in my MBT's that add two inches, and she likes taller guys so that wasn't it. She loves me for my mind. She doesn't want to be an astrologer but has studied it since she was 13, like so many Wiccan girls who tune into the spirit realm at puberty, as the soul memories rise to the surface as their transformation into womanhood reminds of them of who they are at the core of their being. Astrological studies follow in short order as they want to figure people out at the same time boys the same age are trying to figure out cars and sports stuff.

So, if you were to ask, Sheldon…how was your experience in the Emerald City? It was incredible, but that's too weak a word, as are amazing, awesome, fabulous, stellar, cosmic (there's an appropriate pair), outstanding, inspirational and unbelievable. It was a magical experience and I got to meet the wizard of Oz or at least the Colossus of Astrology and one of the towering teachers of our time, Rob Hand and another old hand, whose books I have read most of, Steven Forrest. It was a pleasure to have engaged in conversations with them and to have even made Rob laugh at my timely and single word interruptions during his keynote speech, when I said 'amen' and 'hallelujah' at perfect times to elicit the appropriate response in its context. Otherwise, I was raptly silent and he appreciated my little mini-outbursts to the point of being delighted, even, as though he expected someone to do it and was glad for it. And I enjoyed the experience so much I can't wait for next year when I can do it again, only I'll be teaching a class and doing a performance with a few of the talented and creative fellow astrologers with music, poetry and comedy. And Laura, the Capricorn, who is said to have Saturn in every house, is the boss and is open to my presenting her with my program and presentation ideas. I'm still abuzz and aglow from last weekend and it isn't just because of the great aspects I had.

One of the things I affirmed up at NORWAC was that I can fit into this realm of genius astrologers and hold my head high, knowing it isn't a competition but that we are all capable of making a progressive statement to the world if they would be attentive and heed the clarion call of consciousness. Alas but the tale is an old one in that the horse may be led to the water but cannot be forced to drink. In fact, far too many have drowned because of their ignorance about what to do when the rain keeps coming and the creek keeps rising. We are living in toxic times and the general public has been kept in ignorance for the last 26 years, since Bush World, the first wave, swept the Reagan Reformers in with the Moral Majority maintaining its sway over society for a greedy period of declining unions and increasing corporate power. There's a hell of a segway! There is a five hundred year cycle of Jupiter/Saturn and Pluto in Libra and it swept out Libra Jimmy Carter in 1980. It happened when Saturn in Virgo square Neptune in Sag meshed into his mutable T-Cross with Mercury in Virgo opposite Uranus square Jupiter. It was so bad for his international relationships because of sabotage and back stabbing by George Bush, whom he had fired as head of the CIA when he entered office. Bush's revenge led to his election as VP under Reagan who was less knowledgeable about a lot of secret international affairs. Then there was Mars in Leo square Uranus in Scorpio which activate his nodal conjunctions of Mars on the South Node and Venus Neptune on the North Node. Now this is what I'm talking about when I mean past life karma! War would not be the option, as the GOP would make it for the foreseeable future, as he has Mars on the South Node in Aquarius, so remembers the Atlantean war of mass destruction and doesn't want to repeat it. But his Venus and Neptune on the North denote him to be a man of peace and compassion as well as have the will to forgive his enemies as they would never forgive him. Ironically, Bush senior was born in the same year with an exact Mars South Node conjunction and Neptune has separated from the North Node as to no longer be conjunct, so his was more of the Atlantean warlord with no compassion or sensitivity.

Here were are now, mired in Bush World II, the worst sequel ever! The Saturn opposition to Neptune has been hanging around for too long and its culmination happens to impact right between the Summer Solstice and the Full Moon of June 30th. Now, the next big aspect that Saturn will make to an outer planet is a trine to Pluto and one thing Rob Hand said was that not all trines are good and not all squares are bad. He's also got some serious problems, as I have seen before.

With Ron Paul on the Right and leftie Cindy Sheehan feeling like their parties have deserted them over the war, especially, we need to re-examine the two-party system and expand it to allow more options. I have a concept of Heart-Centered Politics that would have the Hellenists in awe. It is the 7 planet, 7 party system with the Sun in the center, as the real leaders tend to lead from the center, as JFK and Bill Clinton showed. On the right, you have Mercury for the rationalizers and intellectuals who think free market trading is a good thing. Then, filling out the rest of the right you have the Mars warriors and the Saturn authoritarians. On the left, you have the Moon to take care of the people of the land and Venus to share the resources with each other. Finally, you get Jupiter to see the great opportunities that abundance can produce when able to benefit the greater good. How can we create a better class of citizens of Earth? We can begin by educating children better and having smaller classrooms, which means more teachers, who need more tools to stimulate the imagination of the next generation. You see, when you test kids and pre-package their learning into a standardized box, you lose the individual and you stifle their creative imagination. We need to get the crappy books out of the schools and teach these kids about life as it is and help them develop skills and interests that will keep them alive in the future. Apprenticeship programs rather different from the Donald Trump model would help kids learn a trade and build experience in a field where they could actually work. The effort to dumb down America began when Reagan and Bush came into power in 1981 and they have been driving us toward the extinction of the middle class. This is a long and continuous war against the people who work for a living and struggle to survive. We can't afford to take sides against ourselves any longer, as the two sides fight over more corporate money than citizen dollars.

Friends have been important to her because Venus trine Uranus loves to live in a whirlwind lifestyle of people and new places to play. Self indulgence and excessive addictive behaviors without the discipline of Saturn is a disaster waiting to happen. Her only Saturn aspect is a trine to Mercury that allowed her the mental focus to succeed before she was old enough to turn stupid. There is a potential for her to transform herself and come out of the wringer none the worse for wear if she uses the power of Pluto trine her Sun in a positive expression. With her progressed Moon in Pisces, she needs rehab and she wants to avoid it at the same time, but it squares Saturn and she's afraid of the commitment. It's not just that, as her progressed Sun just entered Leo and it squares Pluto, as well as Neptune squaring her natal Moon. And it's her values that were likely formed through her mother that have broken down as Neptune is opposing her Venus this year and Uranus squares Uranus. She really got slapped around this week because Mars square her Sun but she's a defensive crab so should shake it off. We'll see when the judge sentences her.

Perhaps we are stopping ourselves from our own forward evolutionary progress by maintaining a fear-oriented perspective about life. We cannot be afraid of anything since there is nothing but our own negative vibrations that cause accidents and crises. You are the word, as Mercury is the winged messenger of the gods, and as the opposition to Moon/Pluto might be considered, it is often that we tend to fear the worst and not trust that the best will happen. There is an old Buddhist saying; you are what you think having become what you thought.
