On the New Moon, Monday night and Tuesday morning, Mars turns retrograde at 10 degrees Pisces. There are several significant things about that. Martian energy is often assertive and bold, but the retrograde condition inhibits that. Since it is close to Uranus, we can say that its effects will be unpredictable, especially since it’s closer than it has been in more than 60,000 years. However, due to the fact that recorded history is one-tenth of that time, it would be hard to attest as to what social ramifications might occur. Mars will trine Saturn again for much of August and it could mean more testosterone pumping or warmongering. I believe there are more ways to promote peace and health throughout the world than to go in, guns blazing, and killing the alleged enemy. Who is the enemy, really? Why is it our appointed mission to be the peacekeepers of the world on a selective basis, depending upon where the greatest potential profitability lies? Lies are the very reason that Americans believe Bush is doing a bang-up job. He’s banging up and pissing off a lot of people. There are ways to lead the world to a common goal of peace and it isn’t going to happen by force. Leo is a sign of leadership and like the lion it is through competition and providing food and protection for its own pride. Our President has Leo rising but he isn’t providing for his own people...unless you mean his buddies in the richest 1% of Americans. He has some troubling aspects that have been described by regular journalists as though they were reading his chart. His Sun in the 12th house and especially square Neptune is the ultimate in avoiding direct responses. He is evasive and will make a joke or provide a statement of perceived solid fact rather than give an honest answer that hasn’t been written or prepared for him. He is the most heavily coached chief executive since Nixon, a man in whose footsteps he seems to be following. Mars is very closely opposite his own Mars right now and look at the battle unfolding. Now if the Democrats only had a winner to place against him. Dean is gaining support but he’s a Scorpio and might not be open enough, considering what we’ve been through with Pres. Runaround. Kerry is a Sag but his sad, hound dog face makes it hard to think positively about him. Lieberman is a Pisces but while he appears liberal, he was backing Bush for war. Gephardt is an Aquarius and a forward thinker but has trouble raising money. The Seabiscuit of this horse race is Kucinich, a Libra with Moon in Pisces with vision and ideals that are truly liberal and offers hope of a different kind of administration. I would like to know where guys like Jefferson and Franklin are right now. Why couldn’t we have a reincarnation of Lincoln show up and repair our divided country? Political policies change and not always progressively. It used to be that there was a time when commercial enterprises only manipulated the government, not outright owned it. There ought to be banners and signs posted in congress showing what industries are buying off what congress people. The folks of Capitol Hill should be like racecar drivers and wear their sponsor’s logos on their clothes. Every candidate should have their loyalties plainly indicated because we are tired of being railroaded into a program of getting screwed by the feds. Another problem I have is the separation of Church and State, since our President has invoked the names of God and Jesus far too often in public, as though giving an endorsement for membership into his exclusive club. You’re either one of us or one of them is the mentality. It’s disturbing to see how much ethnocentrism and patriotic fervor there has been since 9-11. A note to all you of foreign birth; America was started by immigrants seeking religious freedom and economic opportunity. The Moon is conjoining Saturn, a time for security issues to be powerful and lead to a resolution to maintain that security. With the tenacity of a crab, Bush is hanging on and denying any wrongdoing…for now. We’ll see as this Mars opposition plays out and then in October when Saturn hit his Sun. We’ll see how he holds up. I wonder if he’ll get cocky and run afoul of his daddy. Time will tell with Saturn aspects. Let’s be aware of what we’re dealing with here. Leo deals with the expression of the self, in the form of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness. Ben Franklin said, “All the Constitution guarantees is the pursuit of happiness. You have to catch up with it yourself.” True, but it’s hard to do when Ashcroft makes it illegal to do anything fun. Kobe Bryant has sex with a girl and he’s made out to be a criminal when it’s likely she went up to see him with the intent to have sex with him. Next on Fox…When girls change their minds! With the Moon and Venus in Cancer today, I am reminded of historical matriarchal societies. These goddess cultures sustained pre-eminence for about 20,000 years until Abraham made a deal with a burning bush. There’s the answer to one of our problems. Dubya wants to play God, so let him become a burning Bush! I believe most of our international problems begin with religion and then economic disparity. Different civilizations play by different rules and have different ethics and morals. What gives one person or religion the right to judge what is right or wrong with another culture? Only when we see and know that we are all connected on this planet and in this universe will we ever begin to see the light. What’s at stake here is the very definition of freedom! We have to be able to make decisions for ourselves based upon the laws of God and have to answer to our own higher selves as we progress from lifetime to lifetime. We are not judged by someone holier than we are. We make choices to become better or different from what we were in past lives but we don’t remember those bargains we made as the dying moment came in the life just past. A perfect example is the headstone of WC Fields where he states, “All things considered, I’d rather be in Philadelphia.” So, in his next life, his soul incarnates into a body born in Philly. You get what you wish for and not always the way you want it. Some guys die thinking, I want to have more sex in my next life and then are incarnated into a prostitute’s life. Be careful what you ask for because you might not need the trouble it involves. It’s good to have vision and perspective but you can’t be objective about yourself. That’s why you need someone like me and I’m the only one like me I know. You want the truth? Mercury is conjoining Jupiter today, offering wisdom and truth to the proceedings with a side of philosophy and a dollop of humor and a pinch of exaggeration. To be honest, people need to communicate honestly with each other so they can find out if they are meant to even be together. We often see what we want to see in the partner rather than what is really there so they can act out our little life dramedy. Life is about being, not acting. We are human beings expressing who we must be. That is the point of life. I’ve often said that the secret of life can be found in some of the Leo issues. Love and creativity are the main ingredients for this delicious gourmet experience. Throw in a side order of understanding and compassion, a dab of self-esteem and a sense of purpose and you have the recipe for a great life. Of course, all the great tastes would be nothing if you don’t know what’s on the menu. For that, we have to look at your chart and see what looks good and what you should leave alone. I could repeat the first line of last weeks monologue, (Where are the crabs?) because this week I did readings for fire and air signs. Are you crawling back into your shells because you are afraid of the world out there? It would be understandable the way our world is, of late. The level of fear the government creates is to keep the pressure on and intimidate you into thinking they’re doing something about it by sending troops off to foreign countries and sticking our noses in other people’s business. The troubles in the 3rd World are beyond a little peacekeeping force…they have corruption and poverty just like we do here. Only they have someone richer than they are to help them out. Who is richer than the US? Okay, the Iraqi people are getting it together and forming a new coalition interim government and it could be the beginning of democracy in their country. If so, it’ll be a shining example to the rest of the Middle East of what can be done with billions of American dollars that has mortgaged the future of country for many years to come. Oh, but the Iraqi people will help pay that bill by trading in their oil! So, everyone wins. Halliburton makes out like a bandit by cleaning out their bank accounts and repairing the physical damage as Cheney counts his profits. And did you hear about the asbestos lawsuits that won’t happen anymore because they have a new way of covering the damages by a collective fund. Did you know that Halliburton will save millions because one of the biggest suits against them will now never go to trial…all this because the Republican congress passed a new bill letting them off the hook. It’s all about having a President’s handpicked people in the Congress and going along with his agenda. Okay, he doesn’t always get his way but believe me, the rich are getting richer and others are losing their jobs and have no real opportunity ahead. I’ve been telling my listeners and clients to develop talents and skills that they can use to barter and be their own boss. This is not the time to depend on the corporate climate for job security. Alan Greenspan says the economy looks bright…for the military industrial complex that was the talk of the 60’s. Well, they are still there and doing their best to be the top invader of foreign acquisitions. There’s a book out about the world and how it would be if RFK had lived. The author, whose name I can’t remember, says that there never would be the terrorism we see today because he would have developed the Peace Corps into an International Educational and Diplomatic unit. We would have gotten out of Viet Nam immediately, although Johnson was a Democrat, his campaign was funded by Brown and Root, a subsidiary of Halliburton. He was paid to promote war. Had RFK served instead of Nixon, the 70’s would have been very different. Ford and Carter would have missed out because next up would be Teddy…maybe. It’s hard to speculate because there was Bush, in the CIA, doing that nasty Black Ops assassination thing around the world and here at home, as well. Ford, who just had his 90th birthday this past Monday, said he hopes to be remembered for restoring integrity to the office of the presidency. This is the President of whom it was often said, “He can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.” And Chevy Chase did an impression that made him look like a know-nothing buffoon. Maybe that’s why he chose Rockefeller to be his appointed VP. What cost him the ’76 election? “Pardon me,” said Nixon “and thanks for covering up my connection to the JFK assassination and protecting all my friends involved.” Of course, when the impeachment was imminent, he said, “I should fire everyone but Bush. He’ll do anything for the cause.” That is an actual quote. The CIA has been into a lot of dirty laundry and by blaming Director Tenet of the CIA, Bush diverts the blame from himself, which really should be on Cheney’s shoulder’s because he was the one who knew. I’m not sure if you recall that Cheney was the Chief of Staff for Ford’s administration. When you’re a career politician and involved in matters of top security and it involves wars and drugs and arms for hostages and assassinations, I don’t believe you should be in office any more. I want all of the guys in the current administration to stop screwing with global politics and advancing their agenda, which is global domination through corporate sponsorship. Americans and citizens of the world, please help to stop the RRR, the Repressive Rightwing Regime. They are destroying what’s left of the world, using all the world’s oil, lumber and other natural resources with no thought of future generations. The Koreans still hate the Japanese for taking all their lumber decades ago. Or was it centuries? Well, they don’t live with each other…except here in the US. Life is not perfect in this great melting pot. Hurricane Claudette had a bad temper and struck out at the Gulf Coast in Texas. I guess Mother Nature in messing with Texas. On to dietary news that is of interest in this time of Cancer, going into Leo on Tuesday week; In addition to causing high blood pressure and heart disease, a high fat diet increases the risk of breast cancer…and men can get that, too. Also being heavy increases the risk of Alzheimer’s. We are too fat, America. I have been working out for almost 3 years and have kept 40 pounds off. With a little more time and working out, I’ll lose another 20 and have washboard abs and buns of steel. Look at Jack LaLane, still alive and kicking in his 80’s and still fit. Paul Bragg lived into his 90’s and drowned while bodysurfing. Jack’s into juicing and I know from experience that it’s a good thing. The best thing to do with the pulp is use it for compost and nutrify your garden. That’s another thing we need to do as much as possible is return to the land. The harmonious coexistence with the Earth is how we honor our Mother. This is the Mother world for many civilizations, according to Stargate lore. Why shouldn’t we believe there are other populated planets? After all, even if you never saw an alien ship, astronomers are making amazing discoveries around distant stars and seeing other worlds orbiting around other suns. The shear number of visible solar systems makes the possibility so easy to accept. How could we be so egotistical to think we are the only experiment in the universe? There are different combinations of elements that have created different forms of life. It’s part of the way things are in the vastness of the farthest reaches of intergalactic space. There are more things in heaven and Earth…and you can only know if you study. With the diminishing diversity of publishers, scared out of the business or bought up by the conglomerates, we have a smaller perspective on truth. Who is to say what is right when there is one story the masses are fed and another, which is the truth, but only those committing the crimes are able to tell…and they won’t, of course. If there were justice in this political scenario, Cheney would be the prime suspect for making personal profits from his position, a violation of the very meaning of the words, public servant. I want to wish Woody Harrelson a Happy Birthday this Wednesday. He’s turning 42, and in the midst of his mid-life crisis. Pluto is opposite his Venus now and it could signal a breakup. Woody is a Vegan, which means no animal products of any sort are used in any way. This is a tough diet regimen to follow but it the most harmonious with nature. I believe in Woody and wish he would call me to do my screenplay. As the Sun enters Leo this week, it’s time to get in touch with your true self. Call me for a reading.

Where are all you Cancers? It’s time for your solar return reading and some insight on how to handle Saturn cruising through your sign. Saturn deals with time and delays as well as social responsibility. It’s not enough to sit around and reminisce about the past…you have to forge ahead into the future. It is time to redefine yourself and set your goals for the next phase of your life. Some people will be glad to do that. They’ve been sleeping through life. I see that in my 13-year old son. One man wakes up and speaks after a 19-year coma. They kept him alive on life support for almost two decades and he wakes up asking for his mother. Isn’t that sweet. He also had gotten married and had a child right around the time of his accident. He’s been sleeping for half of his life and all of his daughter’s! Many people sleep through their entire life in a stupor of substance-induced toxicity. This nation is the fattest in the world and getting fatter while children and adults in Asia, Africa and South America are starving, uneducated and marginalized by corrupt politicians who get money from rich countries and hoard it for themselves. This has been seen before in Somalia and other places where U.N. and U.S. aid has been thwarted by greedy dictators. Now Bush has toured Africa trying to woo them for their oil in exchange for trinkets and promises of help. What would happen under Bush would be an Americanization of the 3rd World economy and they become our colonies.

As an alternative, I say restore to these foreign nations a sense of dignity and a place in the global community as an independent trading partner. There are always resources that one nation has that another needs, even if you have to cooperate with other countries. Three way trade deals used to be a common practice, but if we help them to recreate their environment into an agriculturally sound and viable market, we can eliminate world hunger. One of the reasons for poverty and the attendant hunger is overpopulation. Here is where the Catholics and Christians have screwed up with their anti-birth control and abortion stance. If medical advances help people live longer and more babies are brought into the world, resulting in exponential population growth, you are going to bring about the end of humanity. Sustaining our home world and habitat should be a priority for everyone who breathes the air. We shouldn’t be polluting the air we inhale or the water we drink…but we do. We shouldn’t be using up all the fossil fuels in the ground without creating another cleaner energy source. It doesn’t happen because of money and the people in power who want to maintain the status quo because they make so much money on it.

Tomorrow’s Full Moon in Capricorn has been called the Devil Moon since pagan times. The sign of Cancer rules witchcraft and Wicca practitioners and this is a special time for them to gather to chant and praise the goddess spirits and this full moon is of powerful significance in their rituals. It’s about manifesting earthly power through etheric energy. Long ago, there were matriarchal societies of the Pacific Islands that were also ruled by Cancer. And the Salem witch trials triggered many women to fall under a pall of illegitimate accusations. Many of them were herbalists, healers or midwives. We could talk about witchcraft but the religious right might complain…as if they would ever listen to an astrology show! What they don’t realize is that Jesus knew astrology and used it.

Speaking of religious zealots, a woman and her two kids came to my door this week, preaching the Jehovah’s Witless babble. First I hit her with the fact that God is all-inclusive and wouldn’t save only 144,000 people. Then I went to work and laid the truth on her about how Jesus was beyond her comprehension and his true teachings were misunderstood by most. I mentioned that He said you are closer to God in your own closet than in a temple. I pointed out that we are all a part of God and He is in all of us and that could never be different. She smiled and turned to go on her way. She didn’t know what hit her. She could say nothing to me and she knew it. I would welcome any religious fanatic to debate any point about religion and I will dismantle their argument because religion is not about spirituality but control and manipulation of populations.

I trust that you all have become disenchanted with many facets of religion. Especially galling is the sexual impropriety and molestation that has been going on for years. It seems the Church, like the military, has had a “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. Well, I come to preach a new gospel, as your evangelical astrologer. Praise the power of the infinite universal One. Let me share with you the answer to our loneliness, sexual obsessions and dysfunctions…spiritual sexuality. This is the means by which you liberate your spirit by having divine sexual relations with a consenting partner. Sometimes you meet someone and you think, “I think it’s love but how can I be sure?” Well, the first is to call me for a compatibility assessment and I can tell you how the relationship will turn out. I was doing a reading for a Cancer with a Capricorn boyfriend and told her it wasn’t going to be easy. However, there were so many good connections and they had a love-at-first-sight aspect, which is just what happened when they met. They want me to pick a wedding date which I won’t do until they have been together one year. I believe that you need to live together for a while to determine your intimacy quotient. Those of you who have had readings done by me know that I tell it like it is. I don’t beat around the bush and make you believe everything is future perfect. Your past hangs around your soul like a lead weight and lifting it off is a whole lot of processing and letting go. I talk about things most people won’t or can’t say for fear of being politically incorrect. I, on the other hand, don’t like euphemism and innuendo. I like to tell it straight.

This week I nailed a girl who has Saturn on the South Node in the 12th house with a statement that she had been a man in her past life and that was why it was easy for to hang out with the guys at the gym (she’s a trainer) but hard to develop a real romantic relationship. She was astounded and confessed that it made perfect sense. If hitting points accurately were measured in averages like baseball players, I’d be hitting over .950. But I’m not ready for the astrologer’s hall of fame. First of all, there isn’t one. Astrology, while it is one of the most read topics in this country, is still under-appreciated and not respected in most professional circles. They still relegate us to the junk pile of fortunetellers and crystal ball readers and don’t place us up in the realm of psychologists or doctors, with which the best of us measure up to favorably. One reason is because there are few educational opportunities for astrologers. I want to offer an apprenticeship or internship to some young person who feels like carrying on an ancient tradition and wants to help people find their true selves. You will have a place in my company of cosmic crusaders and be able to find out more about your own personal identity and issues so that you can become the best person you could imagine. I want to write a history of the last 5 decades. Does anybody have any favorite history stories from the last 50 years? Mine is the JFK conspiracy in which I tell who killed him and why. I’ll also tie in some other assassinations to it and make a case against a cartel of powerful men who have operated without restraint against the world. It’s going to be juicy. Stay tuned. One final note…Mars is making its closest pass to Earth in 73,000 years, if I hear correctly.

We, the people of the United States, are celebrating, on this day, the birth of our nation. Conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. That we are endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights. When these rights are revoked by a government that is corrupt, it is up to the will of the people to alter or abolish that government. This, ladies and gentlemen is why there is a recall campaign in California and a movement to impeach the President. These men have used money of the people to benefit themselves. The Moon is in Virgo today, bringing to mind that these people are public servants and have a constitutionally bound duty to the people whom they serve. Here’s a little recent history for you. There was an impeachment attempt on Clinton because the Republicans wanted to get him out of power any way they could. The last impeachment was against Nixon and due to his guilt, he resigned and took his evidence with him. There was another against Andrew Johnson, who has a similar chart to Nixon. So, for there to even be talk of impeachment, it has to be fairly serious. But, listen my children and you shall hear of the history of our nation in 1776. Ben Franklin had been hanging out in London and Paris, trying to negotiate a better deal than we were getting. His patience and worldliness got him well regarded in diplomatic circles but it was difficult dealing with these Old World nobles. He did, however, make many notes about conducting oneself in high-level company and how to deal amongst nations. Meanwhile, back in the colonies, Thomas Jefferson was writing what has become the model of democracy, which would have been impossible without Ben’s input. He had other sources. It is said the 5 Iroquois Nations had a union that kept them unified but independent and that is a significant role model for our country. Ben was a Capricorn and Jefferson was an Aries, but John Adams was a Scorpio and had a philosophical and legal background. These men and the rest of the Founders figured out how to create an infrastructure to make us a powerful autonomous republic. We aren’t a true democracy because not everyone exercises their constitutional right to vote. I believe we should make it a condition of citizenship to vote. If you want to live here, you vote for the candidate who best represents your political or financial interests. For example, if you aren’t in the top 5% income earners, you really should rethink being a Republican. When they rule, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. While you are celebrating the remainder of this Independence Day weekend, keep in mind the millions of people who rot away behind bars having done nothing more than have an addiction. Maybe if we made the quality of life better in this world, there wouldn’t be so many people screwed up on drugs or alcohol, thus ending up in jail or prison. There are some people there who deserve to be. The kinds of people who assault someone because of skin color, gender preference or faith have some serious re-socialization to do.

Often, the karmic plan deems for them to come back as one of the ethnicities or genders they were prejudiced against, like a Jew who had been a Nazi in the previous life. This is what balancing your karma is all about. So, what you hate most in others is what you likely were in your past life. If you don’t liberate your mind from the chains of addictive social attitudes, it’s hard to change the international conflicts into peaceful cooperation. This is what makes our president difficult to fathom. After swinging a big stick around at Iraq and Afghanistan, he’s trying to make nice peace happen in the Middle East. At the same time there is a war fomenting right here at home. Millions of jobless and homeless people who would vote against him don’t have a place to receive their ballots, so they don’t vote. Millions of disenfranchised people with everything to gain in a change of regime right here won’t participate in the exercise of political partying. Every election counts and you have to study the backgrounds of the candidates and don’t accept them based on party affiliation. If there is a Green Party candidate running, chances are their views will actually be more in harmony with what needs to happen in this world than either the Demo-craps or Republi-scams. A couple of our past presidents were so much a part of the making of our country that John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died on July 4th.

Gay rights were a major issue in the Supreme Court this week and they came to a logical decision, given how many gay affairs go on in Washington. Now, if Bill Frist would get the homophobia out of his head and live and let live, we can move on to Gay families. After all, they don’t go out to recruit. You either are or aren’t gay and it’s in your chart to whatever degree you can imagine. As for family values, I would say let’s see if they can bring up children who are less dysfunctional than the ones hetero couples raise. Some interesting parallels with the planetary alignments of today…the Mars conjunction to Uranus calls to mind fighting for independence and the trine to Saturn conj. Venus reflects the powerful money interests who want to control the wealth. Now, Saturn trine Uranus marks the returning stock market, just like I predicted. And it glows with the liberal decision of a conservative court. Jupiter trine Pluto explains transformational judgments from the High Court. The tax cuts to large corporations came back in the form of campaign contributions to Bush. I will say this, however, watch and listen for Howard Dean. He seems to be leading the Dems at this point and could be an intelligent choice with the best prescription for what ails our lifeless economy. That’s right…don’t let Wall Street fool you. That’s not the precise indicator of the economic trouble we’re having. That’s just the wealthiest 5% playing to see who puts themselves in the best position when the shift comes. I read where 400 people control 1% of the nation’s wealth. I would have imagined a larger percentage was controlled by fewer people. I guess Dubya has a lot of friends. You know, these people aren’t really conservative as much as they are technically fascist industrialists. It’s the Neo-Roman mentality. Divide and conquer. Create fear and mistrust so that people only trust the government. The enemy is within. There is a terrorist plot to control the world and it’s been taking shape in the Oval Office. Well, so much for pointing fingers at the evil-doers. It’s time to point to the sky and see what’s out there. Jupiter is the evening star, so right after sunset you’ll see it setting brightly in the west, since nothings sets in the east! Speaking of setting, Dubya has Pluto in the 7th house in his solar return and it could mean something very intense happening either in his marriage or a personal relationship will sabotage his schemes. He might have a relationship with an underworld cartel and it could become revealed this year. We’ll see. Some heavy issues are at stake as there are lawsuits against fast food chains alleging that they have caused much of the obesity rampant in America today. I would say that while they have programmed people to believe that they deserve a break today or they can have it their way or it’s finger lickin’ good, they haven’t been forthcoming in revealing how fattening it is for you. But that also attests to the stupidity of the person who goes twice a day or five times a week. You have a choice as to what you eat, so why not eat to live instead of living to eat. We have freedom to make a choice, unless the government tells us we can’t. Oh yeah, like a dictator. Like Saddam, like Charles Taylor in Liberia…our next stop on the juggernaut war machine that is the US military. And all the money to finance it comes out of your pocket but the profits from these wars go into the pockets of Halliburton and Bechtel. So remember, folks, the next time a war comes about and there is really no apparent reason for it, it’s because financial interests want it so. It comes down to who you can buy these days, and who you know. You know me…call me.
