Today is Bastille Day in France, commemorating the storming of the fortress-prison to free their leaders who had been illegally taken into custody for speaking out against a corrupt government. It would be as though the people of America went to a federal penitentiary to release Al Gore and Michael Moore for speaking out against the administration and the corporatacracy that is destroying our planet and our people. Comparisons to today are relevant in France, where they still take to the streets in great masses to protest policies and demand greater rights for the people. Back in the 60’s, Americans took to the streets to protest an illegal war started on false pretenses and escalated by two presidents who were tied into the military-industrial complex. We must understand history or we are destined to repeat it again and again until we have wiped our human presence from the face of the Earth.

It’s a New Moon today in the sign that governs history and when this century has been past for a while, they’ll look back and say how idiotic our nation was under this administration; that we would have endured such abuses after having this very scenario laid out in the Orwell classic, 1984. These clowns make up history all the time, as if the American people were stupid or can’t remember what they learned in school. Oh well, so most of the fools who follow Paris, Britney and Lindsay are mindlessly following the infotainment that passes for news. We have to be able to see past the propaganda and discern the truth for ourselves because the mainstream media won’t give it to you. When truth-tellers stand up against a stacked deck or a loaded gun, you have to root for them, not jump on their case for speaking out against the lies that have made people fall into the role of victims in this global war on the middle class. War is designed to drain the surplus and the future by taxing the workers and their children, which contributes to an endless cycle of poverty. Crazy president that we have, he thinks throwing money into making more blood flow in the sands of the Iraqi desert is the best use of our resources. What happens if we leave? They will have their hands full trying to sort out how to run a country and have less time to kill each other. Despite all the bullshit from Bush, Al-Qaeda is not prevalent in Iraq but they have been building up on the Afghan-Pakistani border. Our partner in the war on terror, Musharraf, has been more of a hindrance than an ally, as he’s done zip to track down Osama.

Gas prices have gone up again because of the Kansas oil spill in last week’s flooding and now guerillas in Mexico blow up oil and gas pipelines in retaliation for some of their members being unlawfully detained by the right wing regime there…they call them leftist because they are for social democracy and better lives for the people, in all likelihood. Crude slime is mucking up the environment and has raised the danger to a higher level than normal because of the repercussive effects of its impact. Cancer-producing toxins are caused by oil refineries and that could be eliminated if we were to convert to a more natural energy supply. Even natural fuels, such as ethanol or bio-diesel, have their flaws in the refining process but it’s the unwillingness of Detroit to switch to clean technology. The ultimate answer would eliminate the oil companies and refineries if we go into production of solar electric cars. I can imagine Rockefeller rolling over in his grave, having been the first billionaire, whose fortune was made from establishing Standard Oil, the first oil company. It isn’t as though oil can’t be used now and in the future to make plastics and other petroleum based materials, but the era of using is as a fuel has to end. We are killing ourselves and our planet by the continual use of such a destructive poison as gasoline and its oily source. Only when we eliminate those from our fuel supply will we be on the path to environmental redemption. Leave it in the ground for the future and who knows what can happen!

We could all have everything we need if the world were not governed by greed, as everything we need to sustain our civilization is here on the planet we call home. Powerful forces hold back the opportunities for the less fortunate or less endowed to succeed in life, owing to the desire to eliminate competition, the very thing necessary for a healthy and successful species. We want to have so many things because we are programmed to want things we don’t need instead of examining what our true needs are. If you think about it astrologically, your needs are represented by the Moon, ruler of Cancer, so this should be the time to determine what they really are for you as an individual. What do you need? Food, shelter and some protection against the elements would be the essential requirements for existence and survival but for most people that’s not enough. They want more so they have to work longer for what they want but end up going into debt because the credit card companies have been given a pass to charge whatever they want, as federal regulations protecting Americans have diminished to virtually nothing during these past 7 years of Bush World. It makes me burning mad!

The west is burning up with wildfires and scorching what is left of our open lands. Federal agencies like the BLM are the caretakers of this land and have been selling it off and leasing rights to the oil, gas and minerals below the ground and the trees above in such as way as to rip-off the American people of commissions and destroy the beautiful lands that were deemed sacrosanct by Teddy Roosevelt a hundred years ago. We have a great land and this president and his demonic forces of evil have been marauding and plundering the very country they claim to love. I’m sorry, but love of country is not something you state with a flag lapel pin and words of patriotic spin. You love your country by taking care of the land and its people, making it into the greatest country in the world…all over again.

The sign of the crab is about food and nutrition and the industry that provides sustenance and most of the substance of American meals is processed and manufactured in ways that remove most of the quality nutrients. Some foods are mineral deficient because the soil has been depleted of things like Selenium, which is necessary in trace quantities but toxic in large doses. This happens when the same crops are planted in the same patch year after year. Further problems come from deadly toxicity built up from chemical fertilizers and pesticides over years. Caring for people means safeguarding the food chain and making sure what we eat is free from poisons, unlike China. It’s really ironic that Bush keeps saying he’s trying to protect the American people when he’s only trying to help his friends. It’s in his chart, of course, as his Uranus on the NN in the 11th makes his future tied to that of his associates, so that when he is forced out of office, his friends will take care of him because of all the money he’s made for them.

History and the past are Cancerian and if we were hunter-gatherers, we wouldn’t have pollutants and chemicals that have destroyed our waterways, oceans, mountains and valleys. Nobody really wants to return to those days of yesteryear, although I can see distinct advantages to it from a variety of perspectives. Time doesn’t reverse and we have far too many remnants of the toxic world we live in today. However difficult it might be, we have to rethink the future. We try to protect our kids so there will be a continuation of the species but we worry about their survival and want to save them from some unknown horror. Even if we could predict our children's fate, there are some things that are going to happen, no matter what we say and they won't always listen to us, anyway. We can only guide them to the best of our ability and teach them to handle themselves in most situations. If we prepare them for life, they will be better able to take on all obstacles. Cancer is a time of family and the concerns we have for others but we can't let our personal feelings infect how we see the world and the planets. Likewise, it is also true that our objectivity when analyzing the planets needs to be dispassionate and detached, hence the rulership of Uranus over astrology. You can't know everything about how your child will live or how they will die. Life and death are the two sides of life's coin. In fact, Cancer is one sign that has much to do with both, as it is the gestational period in the womb that begins the life cycle and the Moon rules the end of life because, ultimately, we have to go home.

The evil that these men do cannot be allowed to live on after them. The good people of America and in congress must hold them accountable and impeach the lying bastards who hold such contempt for our country, that they should be held in contempt of congress. There have been more calls for impeachment as these political matters are sorted out but you can trace the rise of the anti-administration sentiment to when I predicted the beginning of the downfall of this presidency; the end of May, when Jupiter squared Uranus and Saturn came back into the opposition with Neptune. It may well come to a head at the end of the year, when Saturn conjoins Bush’s Mars and stations right on it! He will be stopped! It comes back to the same point next year in August, when he’s on vacation or goes to prison but it also could cause an accident with this aspect. Maybe he’ll cut a body part off while clearing brush. It would be nice for the chainsaw to slip and slit his throat from ear to ear. That would end that smirking monkey face of his.

His support for war among fellow Republicans is slipping into darkness, as a dozen have been wavering and seven have now voted with the Democrats for the Webb bill. The ladies of Maine, Snow and Collins, two slimy guys with no balls, gutless Gordon Smith of OR and Norm Coal-man, the war veterans Hagel and Warner and slippery Sununu whose seat will be hotly contested by a ready Democratic resurgence in New Hampshire. Wavering is Lugar of Indiana, a really red state and a few others, which might be enough to get this guy to move troops out by fall and home by next year. Lies about what has been happening there abound as the administration keeps painting a rosy, wait-for-more-results kind of picture when the reality of it is such a dismal failure in every way imaginable. The delusions are apparent by looking at the architects of this scandal; Cheney, Rove and Bush are all heavily delusional with strong Neptune squares or oppositions. Bush has Sun square Neptune, which is as personally delusional as you get. Rover has Moon exactly square Neptune showing his food addiction and confusion of history and Mercury retrograde square Neptune which reveals the repeating pattern of deceptive communications. He also has Venus in Capricorn square Neptune as well opposing Moon, expressing a lack of compassion or understanding of the female sex. Cheney has the Moon in Pisces opposite Neptune for the deception but Mars squares his Moon, which is why he’s so irritable all the time and is rude and curt with questions that he’s hiding from. Bush’s tenacity, while a hallmark of Cancer, is destructive of American resources, while he accuses congress of not supporting the troops, saying that some in congress want our troops out now. Excuse me, but he’s so out of touch with the reality that 70% of the American people want our fighting men and women home now! The money that has allegedly gone to funding our troops has instead gone primarily to contractors who are almost as numerous as our volunteer military…and they make way more money providing security and other things our military used to do but without any accountability.

Iraq is falling apart as there have been no benchmarks met by the lazy and squabbling Iraqi government and changing the policy on the place was the reason the country elected Democrats to congress. Granted, we still need to win big in next year’s election in order to set things straight and even then, it’ll take decades to undo the damage to our government and our environment and our populace and our international relations that this current bunch of Nazis has created. One Democrat who just won last fall, Jim Webb of VA, has proposed an amendment that would have our troops home for longer than the current three weeks between deployments…it failed. It doesn’t matter what anyone says to them, this cabal wants to maintain a foothold in the region, which is why they invaded in the first place. Of course, the American people have not read the PNAC mission statement so they don’t know why we have been victimized by a systemized downsizing of the American will to stand tall in the international market. Iraq is just the pants around the ankles of the administration and needs to be resolved before a new administration has to come in and straighten everything out. If we want peace in our time, then Kucinich is the guy, as it may well come to pass that the liberal lefties have heard enough of caving into the creeps who crouch in hiding behind executive privilege where no precedent for it exists. After all the evidence that has exposed the truth, Bush still lies about ties between Saddam and Al-Qaeda. He can’t seem to get anything right. Rattling sabers about Iran is insane as they are still in the age of stoning, having sentenced an adulterer to be stoned to death. How can anyone be afraid of them?

Hate-filled Rightie talkers are talking about re-instituting the fairness doctrine and no one on the left is advocating it. It’s a media control-issue and they just don’t get it because they are so far from the pulse of the American people! Corporate America supports conservative talk in such a way that 90% of political talk on the public airwaves is right wing. There are two small liberal networks operating in a sea of hate merchants and lie spewers who demonize liberals and denigrate Democrats. All they have are talking points from the White House and their list of insults and invectives to abuse their enemy with hypnotized minds spewing programmed delusions and they’ll never face the truth because it hurts too much. They don’t want to admit that the source of the problem is American interventionism and has been a gurgling source of potential eruption since they installed the Shah of Iran in 1953, Nixon’s first incursion and destabilization. These people can’t stand the thought of a nation of free-thinking liberals who speak truth to power to keep them as representatives of the people. Yet, sitting behind the microphone of that very freedom of speech, they broadcast such venomous lies and character assassinations that in earlier times it would have been declared slanderous, despite their own scandalous actions. Such is the case of people like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh, who aren’t so much political commentators as they are distractions and disinformation disseminators and whose dismissal of Democrats demands a demonstration of their demonic dispositions. They hate the very thing they accuse liberals of hating; freedom!

Meanwhile, the free speech and entertainment independents were dealt a blow when the royalty rates went up and blew away mom and pop off the Internet airwaves. I ask no money for what I do so it isn’t a commercial operation. I am also a talk radio format and we have different methods of operating. This past Tuesday, the Sun was trine Uranus and this energy was in the air; freedom and personal self-expression have to freely flow or they will cause an explosion. One manifestation of this happened while I was talking to a friend in Oregon as she was standing outside watching the sky and a great series of lightning flashes captured her attention and she watched them come closer and get more intense as I was monitoring the weather on my computer with the Doppler colors and could see it was close. It was also a great day to watch the greatest players on the baseball field and play a good game that ended with the AL eking out a one-run win. So many people have the book in their hands but never crack it open to read it, assuming they know what’s in it already. Oh, I suppose it’s rather like judging a book by its cover. They make over-reaching statements about topics on which they are under-informed, misinformed or completely ignorant. Relying heavily on Clinton bashing, they lean heavily on character assassination to knock down the Democrats as they have no reason for the average American to vote for their own party. Republicans are of the corporations, by the corporations and for the corporations and have benefited by a Supreme Court decision back in the late 1800’s that permitted them to be defined as persons, but that’s wrong, since a person can vote while the corporations can’t. Teddy Roosevelt was busy with trust-busting and his nephew, FDR went further to protect the American worker but in the last 26 years, Republicans have allowed unchecked economic expansion by American-based transnational corporations to violate every prior trust and trade clause ever signed. We have unrestricted importing with little exporting because we don’t manufacture much here anymore. Other countries have a greater sense of protecting their citizens financially, as Germany has now done; to eliminate foreign investors from taking over their industries, guaranteeing their citizens employment and local opportunities and to keep their industries for themselves. America has shipped off two thirds of our manufacturing and outsourced many tech services that are done via phone because of the GOP. They haven’t cared for the working people since Teddy and they forced him out of the GOP to start the Progressive Party because they were already leaning more to the right after the turn of the century. Our president as a Cancer isn’t as concerned with protecting the American people as his own ass and that of the VP, that he’s commanded Harriet Miers not to testify. If you recall, she’s the former White House counsel that he put up for the Supreme Court and she backed out because of the hoots and hollers on the RIGHT! Meirs is a hack crony who couldn’t argue her way out a legal paper bag! You know he has plenty to hide and not just ‘national security issues’ when he refuses to let the truth come out. His back office operations have crossed the line so often that they’ve obliterated any semblance of the line. This is all to cover up the reasons for the firing of the attorneys, which was a purely political effort to wipe out the minority vote in Democratic strongholds. They were caught red-handed in Arkansas doing just that after Tim Griffin replaced the guy in that state. Taking the right to vote away from Americans is as anti-democratic as it gets. There are laws against this kind of thing and the Bush Klan has broken most of them. Justice will not be served until there is a new head of the Justice Department and impeachment for Bush and Cheney.

Inherent Contempt is the option for Harriet as she is in contempt of Congress, despite being ordered by the president. He doesn’t have the authority to demand that a former aide not testify by claiming executive privilege for them. They should be put on polygraphs until they tell the truth but you know we won’t see that. I can see what they’ve been doing and what kind of characters they are but an astrologer can’t really reconstruct conversations. Anyway, Miers could go to prison until the end of this congressional term for not answering questions put to her by congress. The last time Inherent Contempt was invoked was in 1934, so it has to be dusted off, although there are several senators who have been around longer. The fact is that this administration has had nothing but contempt for the American people since they began occupying the office of the president. Their overthrow of our way of governance is appalling to the citizens of the world, who have never witnessed an American fascist state that runs roughshod over other nations as well as its own citizens. They have been in contempt of the world, the UN, Iraq, Darfur, New Orleans, Kansas and other disaster locales, doing little or nothing to stem the tide of despair and ruin that prevails, rather seeing how tragedy helps their friends reap financial windfalls through corrupt schemes and mismanaged contracts. We can’t wait any longer…we must impeach.

The Surgeon General, who is the head of medicine for the entire country, had the kibosh on any truth he could have offered to the American people. The administration buried any scientific data that didn’t agree with the Bush agenda, as they censored his speeches and he was prevented from informing the public with accurate details. Early on he wanted to play an educational role on stem cell research but he was told to shut the hell up because they wanted to limit the research. NASA scientists were also told to keep quiet about global warming and researchers over at the NIH were also prevented from informing the public about the efficacy of stem cells. Because of his lack of openness to truth and science, Bush has set this country back 50 years to the bad old days of hit and miss pseudo-science. When you have the technology and know-how to take us into the 21st century, it is unconscionable to slide us back to the 19th.

Cindy Sheehan is running for congress against Nancy Pelosi, having declared her candidacy on her birthday on Tuesday. That the president would intimidate her enough to keep her from telling the truth is hinted at in her Mercury square Saturn, which also suggests that she wasn’t the fastest learner in the class. Virgos do tend to perseverate with their obsession to infinite minutiae and detail, which creates problems for other people if those immaculately detailed records fall into the wrong hands. Sara is just their little slave girl, so maybe everyone should just feel sorry for her!

David Vitter is an ultra-conservative Republican senator from N.O., LA who is on the DC madam list…oops. He’s a Taurus who is married to a former prosecutor, which will lead to some lively discussions at home as well as a lot of questions from an inquiring press. Sexual fantasies and escapism are prevalent in his chart as his SN is in Pisces with Neptune opposite his Sun/Mercury, which all square Jupiter for excessive indulgence in those fantasies. It would be easy for him to think about sex all the time, as a trine from Mercury and the Sun to Pluto might suggest but it also has to do with his Moon in Scorpio trine Mars in Cancer, a mutual reception of sorts, as the involved planets are more natural in each other’s sign. Both planets are debilitated by sign, as their placements run counter to their organic natures and could lead to the infantilization fantasy. Moon in Scorpio is corruptible and can be explosive but square Uranus, the kink factor kicks into high gear, as there is emotional detachment and separation from the needs of the communities he represents as he accommodates his new friends to the detriment of his ideals and principles. Sexual inadequacy might be at the source of the problem, as sexual frustration is indicated rather plainly by the Mars opposition to Saturn, which also indicates a small penis with possible erectile dysfunction. There could well be a medical condition as his Moon conjoins his Hygeia also in Scorpio, as sexual health issues become more obvious. His Venus is retrograde in Aries and has no major aspects save for a quincunx to Neptune, so he doesn’t understand relationships and the role of women. That’s three ways bad for his appreciation of the very values he’s advocated for the last decade or so. This is typical Republican hypocrisy that demands his resignation. He took up the torch for impeachment of Clinton when he replaced Bob Livingston who had to resign because of marital infidelity. His religious protestations, which are based in Catholicism, show a deeply wounded and desperate soul who has been victimized by priests that contribute to his homophobia. Religion at the heart of his issues would have to do with Neptune opposite his Sun, as he has no real faith or understanding of spiritual principles.

For God’s sake, he has Jupiter in Aquarius square his Neptune, so of course, he thinks he knows everything God has intended for humanity because he has judged it to be that way. His Sun and Mercury square Jupiter, as well, giving the liar and exaggerator as he makes grandiose statements without ever checking into the facts because he believes he’s going on faith, whereas his corrupt plans involve secrets of which we don’t know the half, shown by Pluto on the NN quincunx Jupiter. Many of his objectives have gone against the masses of the people, as I’m sure he could have gotten some relief for the Katrina victims, but compassion and understanding are not in his heart. A Taurus with Moon in Scorpio is motivated by the things of the Earth, not of the spirit, as his sexual desires and financial dealings are strong motivators and obsessions. Wearing a diaper and getting spanked by a young woman he can call mommy (Mars in Cancer = hitting + sex + mom) and then get sexual pleasure from it is just as sick as saying offensive things about gays and abortionists. Vitter was Rudy’s boy in the Deep South and after losing his SC campaign head to a coke bust, America’s Mayor doesn’t seem to make very good choices for associates. It seems God has spoken and he’s not fond of Rudy, so it will not be a case of the most money winning. The candidates who resonate most with Americans will be the chosen ones this time. Larry Flynt has vowed to out the worst of these hypocrites and reveal their dirty deeds and misdeeds, which is fitting since the congress has a worse approval rating than the president!

Lady Bird Johnson passed away this week but after 94 years on the planet, it was time for her to move on. She is responsible for the cherry trees being planted in Washington DC and helped to beautify the Capitol city and America as the first environmentalist First Lady. Of course she was a good woman as she was a Capricorn with Moon in Gemini and Venus in Aquarius, like my wife, so I am a little biased. Her enthusiasm and exuberance along with her generosity are hallmarks of Jupiter on her Sun, another reason she loved nature and the great outdoors. In fact, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and her ASC were all Sag, so she had a great life with lots of experiences and few regrets, I’d guess. In retrospect, I bet she was okay with Lyndon’s passing at the time, as he had seen how the Republicans had destroyed his plans for a Great Society. She was a rather private woman as she was born in the early morning hours with 7 of her planets below the horizon indicating an introverted personality with a strong will. She had her friends and organizations with whom she committed her time and efforts as her Moon in Gemini in the 7th trine Venus in the 3rd likes to be engaged and active. Bush 41 said some nice things about her but his idiot son took the negative path by referring to JFK’s assassination as the day she became First Lady. You know, in many cases of early death, I like to look for the causes of the passing as forensic astrology is fascinating for an 8th house astrologer, along with sex and transformational issues. But Lady Bird Johnson was 94 years old and there’s nothing premature about her death!

Californians won’t have to worry about mandatory neutering for their pets as the sponsor of the bill pulled it, as it stirred up a lot of controversy and debate that lingers. Caring for a pet means different things to different people and when you want to breed, you need to do it responsibly and professionally, as over-population causes far too many problems for all concerned. Our pets are all neutered and in the case of my Scorpio Corgi, it’s a good thing because he is already psycho and would have been much worse if he had his package all together, although it never really was all that much. Speaking of pets, our celebrity we most like to consider our pet is Paris Hilton, who apparently got special VIP treatment while in jail. She’s also guilty of lying to Larry King on national TV as she said she didn’t use drugs but then, maybe her spacey Aquarian mind forgot that the public still believes pot is a drug and she’s a toker, for sure! She was photographed stepping out of a car in a cloud of smoke and it wasn’t tobacco. Now if she had any balls, she would speak out and proclaim that it’s herbal medicine and that the laws should be changed and people should write their congressional representative to stipulate that message. But she’s not all that bright, really.

We are coming out of the shadow of Mercury retrograde when the Sun enters Leo so even through it may be direct and the Moon is new today, we still have some shit to slog through as though we are cleaning up after a shit storm. New Moons are times of beginnings, especially necessary after this Mercury retrograde. When the chickens come home to roost, you have to start plucking some feathers so they don’t fly away. Oh right…chickens don’t fly…they cross the road. I was contacted by another former chicken…uh, student on MySpace to add as a friend. Well, she better be ready to learn more if she wants to get back in my good graces. I’m a teacher first and foremost and can teach you how to be the best person you can be. Chinese people are grateful that the former head of their food and drug safety has been executed. Apparently he took bribes from pharmaceutical companies and probably farming corporations that led to the deaths of many of the Chinese people, as well as American pets and citizens. It seems with the collapse of communism that things are changing but they aren’t always good changes. As corruption increases, good citizens must stand up and call for the removal of politicians who are doing harm to the people. The masses can have power when they rise together in one unified voice to speak truth to power and reach the media so to spread the word. The message is clear for any politician who has bankrupted the system and drained his or her political capital; Stand down or step down.

This is the message for our president now, as well. We have to maintain the rule of law and not the rule of men who are corrupted by their own greed and lust for power. If this is no longer a free country, then we are no longer living in America but the United States of Fascists. It’s ironic that Bush calls his enemy Islamo-Fascists because fascism is the union of political and industrial allies who take over every sector of government, which is what Bush has done with his industry insiders operating inside the departments meant to regulate them. The only way out of this mess is impeachment and it would have to be done in this order; Gonzales, Cheney and then Bush, before he could pardon anyone else. When you have bad people as friends, they only enable bad behavior on your part. Bush wasn’t a nice guy even back in Texas, executing more inmates than any other governor but hasn’t he executed far more people in the Middle East than anyone else in our history. Murdering innocent people in the name of revenge is politically insane and his chart shows that he should be institutionalized. Perhaps it may be only a matter of time, which Saturn represents and occupies the same 12th house as his Sun, the house of prisons and mental hospitals! It would make an interesting closing scene, as the camera pans the Washington hospital where the Neo Cons are incarcerated, talking to themselves about how they could have won the war with more time and more money and fewer troops than the other guy. They try to bribe or threaten the orderlies to bring them treats and let them go out for a walk by the Potomac, which won’t happen as they are under maximum security custody. Once in a decade, we encounter these kinds of dates wherein all the numbers are the same. I remember where I was on 7-7-77, as it was the day the door to teaching astrology opened for me. In the spirit of liberty and independence, I wish to offer these thoughts for the commemoration of our national birthday. We are a diverse and unique population of refugees and immigrants, so it is fitting that the immigration bill failed, as it wasn’t a good deal for anybody. In fact, most of the laws that have been passed during this administration have been universally bad for Americans and the ones that have been stopped would have been worse. They have taken a great country with a huge surplus and turned it into the greatest debtor nation in the history of our government. I can’t imagine any Republican would be able to marshal the votes to win next year, as they can’t raise the money, have no credibility and would only continue the failed policies of their boy, Bush. But I’ll get to all that a little later in the show. Let me tell you what happened this week! Several people were shot and killed over noisy fireworks and a couple of guys nearly blew themselves up by trying to make homemade fireworks. They’re going to need serious medical attention. I hope they have a real good insurance plan.

My wife and I went to see Michael Moore’s film, Sicko, on the 4th and we were disturbed and amused by what we watched. It was not a huge surprise to find out some things and other things were just various degrees of insane. The corporatacracy that runs this country is an embarrassment regarding how life should be lived. We have a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Health care is a perfect example of how privatization has destroyed our reputation as the greatest country in the world. In 1971, a guy named Edgar Kaiser presented his Permanente plan to the insiders in the White House and Nixon pushed it through to create the health care for profit industry and thus, began to take away the future. It was further eroded when Reaganomics began the systematic dismantling of the Middle Class. If you weren’t rich or on the way up, you were the recipient in the trickle down theory that slowed the upward mobility of this country to less than a drip and actually began a reverse economic growth in the general public. With unregulated businesses expanding and outsourcing, this country began going down the drain and it began a desperate attempt to right the ship with the election of Clinton but that was shut down by a Republican congress hell-bent on destroying him and his policies. Hillary was silenced by the very health care industry she sought to overthrow. The RRR, which had carried Reagan to power through a ground-swell of conservative Christians, turned venomous and vile as the politics of personal destruction began with the rise of Fox TV and the Right Wing hate merchants and spin machine.

It might not have been such a big deal in other times or circumstances, but with runaway industrialization comes pollution and toxicity that affects the health of every living organism and someone has to take responsibility for that damage to the environment and its occupants. Providing for the public welfare and common good of the people is the point our founders were making as they wrote the documents upon which our nation was established. These are dark days indeed, as a cloud hangs over the White House and all they want to do is go on vacation.

This week was the last straw. Scooter scoots…his enemy is the truth. He’s a lucky bastard with friends in high places. Apparently, law and justice no longer exist or matter for Bush as he has declared himself judge, jury and executioner, or in this case, commuter in chief. Tyrants have reigned all throughout history, so it shouldn’t be too surprising to realize what kind of people we have running the country as a result of a backlash to the previous president. What we have witnessed is not so much of a complete turnaround as it is a different kind of bad behavior. So that we can be clear, the very thing Scooter was convicted of in a court of law is exactly what the House of Reprehensibles convicted Bill Clinton on; obstruction of justice and perjury. I did not have sex with Monica Lewinsky and if it got out that people knew I did, my hot babe dates are over! Anyway, so many of the Right Wing-nut brigade water carriers are all relieved and tauntingly saying the president was right to commute the sentence and that there was no underlying crime. Excuse me! Outing a covert CIA operative is one of the vilest treasons there is as it compromises our entire surveillance network associated with Valerie Plame. Everyone she worked with had to get out of Iran quickly or get killed as a spy. Let’s be clear that this was a conspiracy that was as stupid as it was callous and cold-hearted and it created more damage with the Iranians, as she was monitoring their nuclear weapons capabilities and deals. It was designed by Archduke Cheney and Bush’s dog, Karl Rover to destroy their detractors.

American democracy is a multi-tiered system that was to be about checks and balances when the public servants and elected officials followed the rules with a modicum of respect for traditions and laws. Tragically, our country has been hijacked and the laws changed so that the rich can get richer and cause great damage to the poor and eliminate the middle class. An ownership society was the goal of the Bush Klan from the beginning, only it was the owners owning the people and it was fed to the gullible as a nutritious food but was really Soylent Green! They are grinding up our people and feeding them to the military machine for fodder and to create more wars to make more money for KBR, a division of Halliburton. Apparently, they are ignorant of the food chain, only seeing the narrow scope of life they dominate, as the sharks in the oceans can overpower the other species. Consider Libby and many lobbyists are first lawyers and love to manipulate and defeat their opponents, some even with malice aforethought. Make them suffer and pay damages they’ll never be able to afford. They’ll settle for far more than they should and I’ll have become rich! That’s the mindset behind many of these slimy slaves to the machine.

Today is numerically fascinating and the same birth path as our nation’s birthday being a 5, derived from 7-7-2007 and 7-4-1776 and both dates have three 7’s. As it turns out, Bush and the US have the same degree Sun but the US is about 30 minutes earlier, so the Solar Return for the US has a Libra rising and the one for Bush has Aries rising, so he is about 180 degrees from the rest of the country, as he has always been. This is the guy whose family went on a golf vacation the day after their daughter died, so no wonder he has no sensitivity to death, pain and suffering as it just isn’t part of his character. His return will have most of the same aspects as the USA solar return chart except the Moon and the house positions, of course. In Bush, the Moon in Pisces squares Pluto in Sag, giving a delusional extremist a chance to implode before he destroys the world, as Pluto is in the 9th and conjoining the Part of Fortune. That could mean he is hell bent on global destruction as the Moon in its spiritual-religious confusion thinks the apocalypse will bring the return of Jesus and he will ride off on a cloud. Jupiter is in Sag in a square to Uranus, so his judgments are counter to the will and good of the people as Jupiter is close to his natal South Node and his poor judgment goes way back to before he was born.

All he cares about is himself and those who are close that he cares for, too, as Mars, ruler of this chart, is in the 1st conjunct Ceres. He’s all set for a strong defensive posture as his Sun cowers in the 4th house and Mercury is retrograde in the 3rd, opposite Pluto so poison words about everyone who sees otherwise are flying out of his twisted mouth. Venus/Saturn conjoin in the 5th and SN is there, too, so he’s keeping his wild and crazy Sag daughters under house arrest or under close scrutiny to keep them from further destroying his legacy. As if…! Come on, Al Gore III is not an example of his dad’s ability to govern, live or teach; just a reflection of his active public life keeping him from being the best father he could have been. It is the classic Aries-Libra parent-child clash, as the Aries is busy doing while the Libra indulges and blames the parent for not being there. Co-dependent Libras don’t always take personal responsibility and have to lash out or act out in destructive or violent ways. Several assassins and murderers have been Libra, as it is never one’s own fault when there is someone else to blame for how you are. Back to Bush, again, the Venus/Saturn conjunction is opposite Neptune, so perhaps to divert them from alcohol, the twins will be converted and perverted into some religious indoctrination. Ooh, perhaps Bush will ship them off to the Moonies for a summer of straightening out! The unhealthiness of relationships is presented with clarity as Juno opposite Hygeia and they square his Sun. Now these will also appear in the US chart but the houses are exactly the opposite in this case. The US chart shows a need to get the health care system socialized and fight those who operate for profit in the field, shown by Moon/Uranus/Pallas in the 6th and Mars/Ceres in Taurus in 7. Health should be a right of every citizen, not an accident of your financial security. More truth being exposed through the communications media would help inform the American people who don’t seek out information on the internet as much as entertainment and romance.

Reclamation of Independence

He is the worst and most corrupt president in American history for many reasons, many of which are treasonous and conspiratorial, that if a citizen were to be guilty of the same crimes, he would never see the light of freedom again.

He had malice and forethought about invading a sovereign nation to gain revenge, political and economic capital. He used American forces as bait to lure the enemy to said sovereign nation and caused a civil war to erupt by removing their dictatorial leader.

In fact, there is evidence that he is involved in the planning and execution of the attack on American soil and was complicit in the swift and safe departure of the family of Bin Laden. They have bribed and supplied their enemies with weapons in an effort to get them to cooperate with us only to have them turn those same weapons on our own troops and facilities.

He and his co-doer-of-evil, Dick Cheney, have used secret meetings with industrial giants to rewrite laws that they can live with but will destroy the land and poison its peoples. They have given great benefits to their powerful friends in the form of budget-crippling tax cuts and exemptions from paying taxes where they should be paying. He has appointed industry insiders and lobbyists for those industries to regulate those industries and help write rules, laws and guidelines.

He has obstructed the administration of justice by refusing to assent to the judgments of the courts to free his operatives and keep them from testifying against him by issuing commutations and pardons.

He has loaded the highest court in the land with extreme right judges who will destroy the progress we have made in more than 230 years and set civil rights and liberties back five hundred years.

He is building private armies to commit treason and violate our rights by instituting martial law as the totalitarians of the past. They have used and abused our own military by draining their resources and demanding more budgetary considerations for private operations rather than funding our troops and re-supplying their armories, all for the profit of their greatest contractors.

He and his co-president, have made billions from said contractors, as the VP is still paid by the company for which he previously worked. As long as we are at war, he personally profits, thus revealing no intent to end the conflict.

He has completed the destruction of our health care system by selling out to the commercial interests of pharmaceuticals and insurance companies. National interests require a healthy population, yet our infant mortality rate is climbing and our overall death rate is accelerating. Presiding over the State of Texas as governor, he sent more people to their deaths than anyone in history and more than all the other states put together.

He has established a Faith-based office in the White House in violation of the separation of Church and State as Thomas Jefferson stated there must be to insure that one doesn’t contaminate the other, yet, indeed, it has come to pass. In the past 28 years, Christian Conservatives have been trying to take over the laws that govern this land and that must cease as we must have the independence to determine our own path to God. There has been no indication that God has ever wished to interfere in the course of human governments and they must remain free of divine hopes, fears and laws that isolate and divide the masses.

He has ignored the stranded, starving and struggling masses of hurricane victims, unless they are his rich friends. Organizations mismanaged and funds diverted to profiteers can be of no public benefit and only constitute more violations of decency and good will. He and his minions have shown no consideration for those poor descendents of slaves and have made every effort to block their fair votes that Lincoln and Kennedy would be appalled at their conceit.

In fact, the very electoral process has been violated repeatedly, fixing elections their way to take over complete control of every area of government and to establish single party rule for a generation. The Supreme Court has been stacked with ultra-conservatives who lied about abiding by established precedent and have overturned long-standing laws that govern our very way of life.

With every law and every measure, a calculated degradation of our freedoms and liberties has been diminished. The free press has been bought up by a limited number of conservative establishments that eliminate the truth and promote the lies that have been fed to the American people.

They have rolled back all the protections of jurisprudence by eliminating habeus corpus and have established secret torture prisons around the world in violation of the Geneva Conventions. They are war criminals and must be brought to justice for all of the damage they have done to this country and to the world.

The financial devastation that has affected our economy will ripple in time until we are no longer able to inhabit this planet as a species and humanity’s numbers have dwindled to a scattered few thousand as the temperature rises along with the oceans and life forms diminish in number and variety. Certainly by appointing industry insiders to positions that regulate those industries, he has made a mockery of any federal controls over big business.

It is time to rise up and prevent the establishment of a military incursion by private armies of corporations to force a collective into compliance and acquiescence to totalitarian rulership.

We declare these truths to be self-evident; that all men and women, regardless of color or creed, are created equal, that we are endowed by the creator to be individual cells in the body of God and that no religion or government can be above the essence of that truth. No one is greater or lesser than anyone else. Our universe is so vast and our world so small that we have to learn how to live in cooperation on it together and when one power holds sway over a greater consensus of the people with authoritarian brutality, it becomes necessary for the people to rise up and reclaim their independence from tyranny.

We, the People, must unite against oppression and return the determination of our destiny to our own hands. We must stand together or we will all be laid out in mass graves, and we will have no power or money to withstand the pressure to quit. When many unite as a single voice, it can be heard above the notorious nattering nincompoops of the Repressive Rightwing Regime. We have seen the enemy and they are running our country…into the ground. The time to stand up is now.

I call upon all good Americans to fly their flags upside down for the weekend and on every holiday until Bush is out of office. We are in distress as a country and a people, and we have to do something about it. We must galvanize and organize, raising our voices in protest and speaking out because this is a government of the people, by the people and for the people and it shall not perish from this Earth.

If Bush and his cronies have not doomed us, they have certainly crippled us in many fundamental ways with the infusion of fundamentalist freaks like Jerky Falwell who led the initial attacks on the left and Pat Robertson, who has taken up the torch to lead the villagers to chase out the demon gays, commies and abortionists. We haven’t had such divinely deluded dunderheads doing death dances since the end of the dark ages because nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! These guys were certainly among those employed by the pope to eliminate the women and mystics who had truth, knowledge and enlightenment, which is why they burned witches and books.

Bush has been pursuing a missile shield defense system that we not only don’t need, but that is an intrusion and infusion of Cold War tactics. This is what happens when you hire former KGB generals and put them up in luxury houses in Virginia and keep them on the payroll. It’s almost ironic that the CIA released their old files from the bad old days under Nixon. We can now see that what had been going on in the dark days of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s is just the tip of the iceberg compared to what they’re doing now. In fact, it has been a period of espionage unlike anything we’ve ever had on this planet before. The Chinese took that older technology and went into industrial spying and have, as a result, taken over as the manufacturer of the world. Of course, it oppresses the people of China and anyone else working there. I have a former student in the garment business who is considering a move to China. I guess that’s the place to get clothing made anymore. There used to be a garment district in New York City and one in L.A. but with the outsourcing of clothing production it has all but vanished from our fair shores. If we grow the material for clothing, shouldn’t we also make it here?

There is no morality in politics, no matter what they are selling. Moral superiority is not only a joke; it’s often a complete hypocrisy. The only reason most people want power is to have their way and influence others, as well as profiting immensely for their efforts. These evildoers got into power by promising a new era of accountability and morality but have gone so far in the opposite direction that upon looking back to the Clinton era relative to the Bush presidency, you see Bill as an angel of light endowed with wise humor and was internationally adored. While he was out of power, the world got turned upside down by his successor. That should be spelled suck-cessor to be accurate. While we laughed at the stupidity of the malapropisms and stumbling, bumbling brainlessness from the president, we forgot to watch the evil bald man behind the curtain in the undisclosed location having secret meetings and writing laws to be pushed through a weak and compliant congress as they were threatened with torture in Cheney’s secret prisons.

Cheney has had his finger on the trigger of unilateral power for three plus decades, as under Rumsfeld in the Nixon administration, he put forth this little goodie is his post as…”Deputy Assistant to the President from 1974–1975. It was in this position that Cheney suggested in a memo to Rumsfeld that the Ford White House should use the Justice Department in a variety of legally questionable ways to exact retribution for an article published by New York Times investigative reporter Seymour Hersh.” (Wikipedia) Already, he was anti-dissent, as Nixon seemed to endure a bit more. They really have done some dastardly things in the last 38 years since Nixon was elected. It was Cheney and Rumsfeld that pushed for the selection of GHWB to be appointed head of the CIA, to re-establish their connection from the early Nixon days and cement a life-long partnership of evil. Reprehensible is the word to describe what they have done to our nation in the last 40 plus years since they assassinated JFK followed by MLK and RFK as well as John Lennon. Kill off the peace-lovers, so we can have our dirty wars of global domination. While in congress during the Reagan years, his voting record was deplorable in its support of corruption and racism. As Secretary of Defense under Bush I, he led invasions into Panama and Kuwait, further showing unilateralism in being the boss of the world. As VP, he is also responsible for pushing us into a needless war. Cheney should be the first to be impeached for his dismissal of the constitution and everything it stands for in the American way. Then they must also remove the Criminal-in-Chief before he can appoint another Vice President as they are guilty of no crime more appalling and disturbing than TREASON!

The Mayor of L.A., Antonio Villaraigosa has a girlfriend, which should be no surprise since his wife left him because of her. Mirithala Salinas has no public birth info that I could find in my first search and she’s a TV news political anchor for a Spanish language station in L.A. and given his chart, it makes sense. However, infidelity is no measure of political acumen or popularity as Rudy Giuliani and Bill Clinton have shown. She got fired from her position as she is now known to have blown through most of the handsome Latino politicians in LA and now she’s screwed. But oh is she hot! I’m sorry, people should not be described as a temperature, as it dehumanizes them. Hey, you look like something on a thermometer! How are you doing today? I’m about 60 degrees…you know, cool but not really icy cold. Hey baby, you look like 110 in the shade! Sorry, honey…I’m registered as so hot, I’m sizzling, so it’s more like 250. I can say I have never wanted to be 98.6, ever since that stupid bubble gum song came out in the 60’s. I like being around 77 where it’s warm and sunny, like my Leo ASC likes me to be but cool enough so the fishies can swim.

Opera diva and director of the NY Met, Beverly Sills died this week at 78 and the cause of death was Pluto conjoining her Saturn. It’s a fatal aspect when combined with other factors, which there undoubtedly are. It was strange to look at her chart, as I had just done a reading for a woman who had the same Sun/Moon/ASC combination, yet odds of that are 1 in 1,728. It’s not like having an identical chart which happens in rare cases, such as Howard Stern and another radio talk show host I know with the same chart who is a former personal and professional acquaintance. Some people are hateful and vile yet are alive for some reason, even though they don’t really deserve to be taking up space and resources that would be more appreciated by people closer to the land and to real life experiences. Back to the delightful Bubbles, as she was affectionately known, she was certainly doing what she intended in this life, as her Jupiter was right on the North Node, close to her Sun. As the ruler of her Moon, Jupiter on the NN signifies a continuity of past life memories, including many foreign languages. Her great presence and dramatic energy were demonstrated by Mars in Leo trine Uranus in Aries for a great sense of rhythm and athleticism and many sexual adventures, I’m sure.

Far too many people die during Mercury retrograde periods as issues from the past that are unresolved cause the exit from life at these times. My friend and student, Victoria, died in a car accident during the longest day of the year. She was only 28 and left behind three young children who will be raised by their grandmother, which is sadly all too common in the African American community. It was a single car accident and it is likely that she died of a seizure brought on by a neurological malfunction that struck suddenly, as these things are all ruled by Uranus. So, it really is no surprise when you find multiple involvements with Uranus in the chart at the time of death. Transit Uranus was within one degree of her South Node, so old problems would abruptly strike at an inopportune time. Natal Uranus would have to be affected by a heavy influence for this to have a more profound effect and it was being hammered by the Saturn opposition to Neptune within one degree of exact. Also Uranus was quincunx Pluto within one degree, which is the sudden death in this situation. And that’s not all, as minor Uranus was engaged by squares from secondary Mars and minor Mercury, as Mars rules cars and Mercury is the short and local trips one takes. Always questioning until I understand as much as I can why things happen, I looked into why it would have been time and Saturn is the place to look for that. As mentioned, transit Saturn was square Uranus and natal Saturn had an exact square from transit Jupiter retrograding in Sag in her progressed 7th house, so she was probably helping someone with relationship issues generously giving advice and perspective. Now Mars also played a big role in this as it rules the brain and our physical actions. At the time of the crash, Mars was rising on the Eastern horizon, just over Vicky’s ASC, on which she had Chiron, making her a healer, teacher and mentor, and her minor Mars was exactly on her Moon while her progressed Mars, as mentioned, was also in distress. As it was the second week of Mercury retrograde, it, too played a part in this tragedy, as it was quincunx her natal Sun-Mars conjunction in Aquarius. In her 8th house natally, she had Venus and Neptune conjoining each other square minor Sun and Venus in Pisces. Transit Pluto also squares minor Sun as the force of death wipes out the will to live. The Moon rules end of life and her minor Moon was exactly square natal Uranus and slammed up against the transit Saturn-Neptune. For the perfect symbol, we just have to look at her Moon degree, in which the 1st degree of Aries is “A ball of fire bursting across a rainbow.” It is a symbol of action and that’s how she lived and died, especially with Mars on her Sun and Mercury. When that girl started talking, she couldn’t be stopped! She could quickly and quietly absorb a lot of information implacably, never revealing how much she took in until she began explaining things back to you. I know that she was my teacher in a previous life, so I taught her astrology in this life to balance the scales of karma and she will take those memories with her on to her next life where she takes her knowledge and incorporates her understanding and faith to take that wisdom to a higher level and benefit even more people in the next life. You always remember. We are threads in a cosmic tapestry that are woven together for a greater purpose than we can know.

Mercury retrograde is in Cancer, sign of the home, the past, your history and a sense of comfort and security where mommy would nurture you and take care of your every need and the thought is to return to that security. And Saturn opposite Neptune earlier this week might be an avoidance of the responsibilities of success and the striving to achieve one's goals takes so much time that it isn't worth it if you can take the easy way out. Life is about challenge that makes you grow stronger and sharpen your mental and instinctual skills that come from past life experiences. To regress back to the comfort of an aging womb is to forget the reason you are here on planet Earth. It is not the mother we were birthed by but the Mother we are Earthed by that we must take care of in the waning years of polar ice. Our future is a bleak one as we consume without conscience and our dust and exhaust are blanketing the glaciers, prompting premature melting that will become disastrous unless we reverse the trend. Progress is regressing to an earlier time before industrialization. We are at the tipping point of life on Earth, the virtual Chiron return, at which time we must clearly determine whether we are going to live or die as a species. The planet will easily recover after the elimination of mankind, as our toxins and pollutants become the basis of new life forms on the planet and develop into molten, slimy oozing creatures of deadly intent. Horror films have given us a peek at this possible future and more. It’s too bad there aren’t movies about utopian futures where people get along and it’s a beautiful place with no smog or trash.

We are living in the world’s first real corporatacracy; a global economy powered and controlled by trans-national businesses that are accountable to no government and that write their own laws and regulations in this country. They will be empowered by their own private armies and not have to follow the laws of our nation because they are based in a post office box in the Cayman Islands. They enslave us to their products and services which they monopolize and manipulate the prices without federal controls. They produce their merchandise in third world countries with virtual slave labor and pay pennies on the dollar for the manufacturing process there because of the lack of government oversight. Countries like China that use their people as cogs in the machine of the corporatacracy need to be saddled with tariffs to make importation of their goods more competitive. Political and economic sanctions should be imposed to make their labor practices conform to standards of decency practiced in developed countries. China has no excuses left, as it can’t be considered a 3rd world country anymore with their nuclear capability. They have to set higher standards for their economy and ecology if we are to ever preserve this planet.

Everyone has coping mechanisms they need to implement in order to control anti-social tendencies that are indicated in the chart. You are not controlled by your planets if you are aware of what they can do without conscious effort. Some people would be rapists, murderers and thieves if they responded to the negative past-life tendencies, as the times were different and there weren’t the freedoms and opportunities then that we theoretically have now. Our nation is progressive and expansionist by virtue of Jupiter being the closest planet and conjoining the Sun in the birth chart of our country. It can also be construed as the ultimate egalitarian system of self-government. I like that word…egalitarian, which reminds me of the eagle, which I extolled last week.

If the nation can’t be free, at least its individuals can be liberated with the power and insight of astrology. It rips away the illusion, tosses aside the confusion. It allows you to see who you are and shows you how to follow your star. By learning all your history, life is no more a mystery. The key is in astrology and has an ancient mythology. The Christians fear and demonize because they don’t want to realize that astrology was taught to every learned Jew, which would include their master Jesus, too. Twelve signs for twelve disciples and surely they learned the principles.
