1-15 MLK had a dream or two because
his Moon was in Pisces conjoining his Venus in a trine to Pluto, so
he was trying to change the world and got things rolling nicely, until
they shot him. They always kill the real voices of social change but
never the evil guys who need bumping off. Jupiter trine Neptune and
Saturn in a grand trine gave him wisdom and perspective few had and
many who heard would follow, as there was so much inspirational truth
he was speaking. With Mars opposite Saturn, he would arouse the wrath
of those whose lives would be changed by his peaceful marches and the
growing civil rights movement. Powerful white men were among those enemies
of Dr. King and when he said, “Free at last…” I wonder
how many of them were sad for their own stupidity? His Mercury in Aquarius
shows a bright intellect but it’s lack of close contacts tells
me that without connection, the mind is a terrible thing to waste, but
leading a cause for freedom would help him connect to all of humanity.
Pluto in the 9th house made this transformation as far away as South
Africa, as Steven Biko and Nelson Mandela would have read about and
heard about him.

20 Fareed Zacharia is a writer for Newsweek magazine and frequent
guest on The Daily Show as well as a regular on This Week in Washington
with George Stephanopolis. He has Mercury in Cap rising before his Sun,
labeling it the oriental indicator and indicating a career in some form
of communications. Mercury trine Uranus makes for genius, intellectual
brilliance and lightning quick thoughts that lean on progressive ideas.
Mercury also is sextile Venus in Pisces, allowing him to be sensitive
in interpersonal relationships. Saturn square Neptune is the case of
the disappearing or absentee father, sometimes through mysterious circumstances,
other times because of alcohol or drugs. Moon in Pisces shows a family
history of such tendencies, so watch out, kids, if you have these aspects
in your chart. You may just be delusional enough to think you, too,
can write for Newsweek.
1-31 Jackie Robinson was the first black baseball player
and was a star for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1947 until he retired a
decade later. His 4 planets in Aquarius made for a natural talent in
almost anything he did. The Sun/Moon conjunction was close and the Venus/Uranus
was about a degree apart but in a tight opposition with Saturn. This
was all the limitations, prejudice and resistance he had to deal with
for years, until he became an accepted star in what had become an integrated
league. Mars in Pisces trine Jupiter/Pluto in Cancer made for his superb
speed and intensity, stealing home more times than most people ever
even try. After baseball, he moved into the civil rights movement and
became involved with humanitarian causes. For some inexplicable reason,
he was a staunch Republican and I think it was because Branch Rickey,
the Dodger president who brought him in the Majors, encouraged Jackie
to become one, too.

FDR was president for longer than any other American president,
serving just over three terms. He was a charming and intelligent man
and very sensitive, with Moon in Cancer sextile Jupiter/Neptune in Taurus
and Uranus in Virgo, which trine the Jupiter/Neptune. This is also the
family wealth and powerful and connected friends. His physical ailments
might have something to do with Virgo rising or the Sun/Venus square
Saturn/Neptune in Taurus and the Mercury square Pluto, also in Taurus.
Mars in Gemini was retrograde in a sesquiquadrate to the Sun, even though
it’s trine Mercury. Mercury trine Mars gives a quick and agile
mind, capable of reason through things a little fast than most. These
caused him the infirmities and the tragedy of a form of polio, although
it may have been caused by a virus contracted while swimming in stagnant
water. He had some issues like withholding love as it came from a deep-seated
anxiety and social perception of inadequacy, the hallmark of Venus square
Saturn. There may also be drug use with Sun square Neptune, but that
could also be the water-born virus that debilitated him.
2-12
Abe Lincoln certainly had some issues and I could also look
at the death chart with forensic astrology, but we already know who
shot him and with what and that it was part of a conspiracy, as most
presidential assassinations must surely be. Lincoln was a double Aquarius
with Moon in Capricorn in the 12th, a sign of depression and a sacrificial
sense of duty, wherein he was committed to the betterment of all humanity,
as the idealistic Aquarian he was. He had a deep and profound faith
that he felt it unnecessary to parade it in front of anyone. Uranus
was on his North Node at birth, an aspect our current president has,
a symbol of change that affects humanity. Lincoln changed the economy
of the South forever by abolishing slavery and changed the face of the
country because of things that happened during the Civil War. At the
time of his murder, Saturn was on his Libra Mars, so powerful people
wanted him killed. It was also square to his Moon, exactly, which could
well be considered a death aspect. Transit Mars was in his 5th, square
his Venus and transit Neptune was on it, hence his death was in a theater
during a play. Mars is the gun, Neptune is the theater and Venus was
Mary at Abe’s side. The transiting Sun as well as the minor Sun
on his South Node shows the life drain out of him. Natal Mercury conjunct
Pluto square Neptune/Saturn near his MC that gave him a deep sense of
impending doom and an obsession with death is likely. It made him quiet
and introspective, pondering deeper issues than most ever consider.
At his death, minor Uranus was exactly square his ASC, showing the suddenness
and the radical rebel group involved. Progressed Venus opposite Saturn
shows the lack of respect he had from many separatists. His progressed
Sun closely opposed progressed Mars in Libra, also showing the assailant
as a handsome Southerner. Progressed Moon was nearing his Sun in the
12th and he must have had a premonition of his death because his minor
Moon was also conjunct Pluto, as well. Transit Pluto had been opposed
to his Uranus since his election, so the plot to kill him had been brewing
almost since he was sworn in, I would speculate. Minor Saturn was exactly
square his progressed Sun and if you use a maximum orb for the Sun,
in the natal chart it squares Saturn, too. Minor Venus opposed natal
Mars, so things weren’t so hot in the bedroom, I take it because
Mary was moping about something or other, perhaps and wanted to go out
to the theater. Progressed Mars square minor Saturn would certainly
stop sexual desires, anyway, along with some other power plays I can
think of. I suppose I could still do a deep analysis of his natal chart
but some other time, perhaps. I’m just so obsessed with this new
Forensic Astrology book I’m reading, so it’s fascinating
to look into the astrological reasons people die or are killed. I’m
just an 8th house kind of guy.
2-22
George Washington was indeed a man ahead of his time. According
to our esteemed and knowledgeable AG, it seems Washington was not only
“First in War, first in peace, first in the hearts of his countrymen”,
he was also first to use electronic surveillance to prevent our enemies
from having strategic advantage over us. Old George was a very bright
man and cultured in many of the arts and sciences of his day and was
known for his dancing ability. Mercury in Aquarius trine Neptune gives
good intuition and musical understanding and Mercury sextile Saturn
gives the strategic sensibility to plan an attack or advance to the
rear. Mercury trine Jupiter made him a visionary speaker and leader,
able to get the message across for the greater good. But I believe AG
is mistaken regarding his use of anything electronic. Venus in Pisces
conjunct Saturn in Aries reveals his long marriage to a powerful woman.
Moon in Cap square Pluto has lot to do with the transformation of the
homeland and may even hint at the problems with his teeth. They weren’t,
by the way, made of wood. His Scorpio Mars is trine Venus and sextile
Moon, so women found him charming, engaging and fascinating, although
he wasn’t the big flirt that Franklin was. Here’s one aspect
pattern that contributed to his political acumen; Jupiter in Libra sextile
Uranus in Sag and Jupiter trine Neptune in Gemini, opposite Uranus.
He knew some people would feel disenfranchised the way the government
was structured, but there was little to be done about it due to the
circumstances of his day. Neptune trine Pluto shows his deep inspirational
influence over his men in battle and the men of congress, as well as
the people of this land.
2-27
Ralph Nader has always been an advocate for the people and
an industry watchdog, so when they try to disparage his ideas, they
are really attacking the man to reduce his credibility. He has done
more for the consumer than most politicians have ever done and most
recent ones have had the reverse influence over corporations, being
in bed with them and catering to influence peddlers. I looked at his
chart a couple of years ago, but let’s take another look at the
Saturn on the Aquarius North Node and we see a responsible citizen,
working for humanity’s advancement in a sustainable way. Saturn
is sextile Uranus for the progressive nature of his soul and the square
Uranus makes to Pluto is the attack from corrupt powers that are threatened
by the very ideas he proposes as it would break their stranglehold on
the American political system. Jupiter trines Saturn and opposes Uranus,
so this reinforces his attainment of his social programs as a future
reality that he hopes to implement in this lifetime. His Moon is in
Leo and on the South Node, so he may have neglected his family, his
kids, his home and his own personal needs at times in his life when
he was so dedicated to a cause that it wasn’t a priority to check
back home or take care of himself. He has a greater purpose but at 72,
he needs to pass that baton on to someone who can carry it as high or
higher than he did. Mercury retrograde in Pisces conjunct Mars is the
battler to get things fixed and he understands why they are wrong in
the first place. Jupiter square Pluto can see the government as broken
by corporate corruption controlling congress. Uranus square Pluto would
have those forces broken free of the destruction of the American political
way. Mercury/Mars trine Pluto shows his ideas would change things for
the better but few in power want to listen to him. Maybe this year...we’ll
see.
3-2
Russ Feingold, the Jewish Senator from Wisconsin, is looking
into running for president in 2008. A nice Pisces, growing up he was
fascinated by JFK, RFK and MLK, so he’s a very progressive humanitarian,
as his North Node in Aquarius and Sun trine Uranus reveal and add in
Jupiter in the middle in Taurus, sextile both and you have an advanced
soul who wants to teach humans how to evolve in a positive way. Venus
and Mars in Aries can be too assertive for some and the square Mars
makes to Uranus can cause accidents and unexpected conflicts. And with
Venus opposing Saturn and Neptune, we can guess the cause of two failed
marriages. He was drawn to abusive, alcoholic control freaks, although
I have yet to investigate further, but what political man would drop
a wife who wasn’t a liability? His Mercury is direct and right
on the Pisces cusp of Aries, so bold ideas are designed to benefit those
who have been victims of deregulation and tax cuts causing cuts in services
and funds to the poor. His Moon is in Libra, after all, and his Mercury
is in an opposition, so he’s instinctively attuned to the needs
of others, which you really want in a senator or congressman. Duke shows
what happens when a self-serving arrogant asshole holds the office of
a trusted public servant! Russ shows what a dedicated civil servant
can accomplish for the American people and his fellow cheese heads.
3-15
Ruth Bader Ginsburg is considered the second most liberal of
all the Supreme Court after Stevens. They were both tops in their respective
classes and are supremely intelligent. She has a Grand Trine in water
with the Sun and Venus in Pisces, of course trine Neptune in Cancer
and Moon in Scorpio. Whoa! Could that be freaky? Well, no, not with
a square to Saturn but it is sextile Jupiter for good judicial instincts.
Mercury in Aries is retrograde, which has to be good for a deliberative
mentality as a judge. Her Mars and Neptune are in Virgo on the South
Node, so she would have a problem with war and religion running this
country, which is how it seems to be going. Ruth, you need to scream
at the other justices that we’re heading down a dangerous path.
Take Scalia out and dress him up like a quail and then call the Vice
President. Her Sun and Venus oppose Jupiter, which makes me think she
often deals with lawyers and politicians and others in government service.
Oh yeah, I guess she would. Having Venus rising right before her Sun,
it would make sense that she was a major champion of women’s equality
issues. I guess it’s just a little bit of a coincidence that her
birthday is one week after International Women’s Day. Uranus square
Pluto is one of those wake up calls at a particular time in history
when major changes appear and people like Judge Ruthie need to battle
for truth, democracy and the Underdogs of the land, especially women.
3-16
James Madison was the father of the US Constitution
and the Bill of Rights as he pushed for it because of a promise to Tom
Jefferson. His friend, Aaron Burr introduces him to a young Philadelphia
widow named Dolley Todd, who was a Taurus and they remained together
until the end. She loved him for his gentle ways with women, especially
her. As for his chart, his moon in Scorpio opposite Dolley’s Sun
was the big attraction and connection as well as sextile Suns. His Sun
is in a Grand Trine as the aforementioned Moon is also trine Neptune
in Cancer. His passion and commitment in relationships is revealed by
Venus in Aries trine Saturn and Pluto near the ASC in Sag, making for
an intense, compact presence, as Saturn on the ASC usually makes someone
small, frail and sickly as a child, which he was. His genius is indicated
by Mercury/Uranus in Aquarius in a quintile to the Saturn/ North Node
conjunction. Mars in Cap trine Jupiter in Taurus make for strong leadership
qualities and great drive to succeed and help others to as well. It
goes with the story about teaching a man to fish in order to feed him
for a lifetime. This position of Jupiter is why he favored the American
farmer and the agrarian life of the South, as he was from Virginia.
Venus in Aries square Mars may have made him impatient with certain
types of people who wear out their welcome rather quickly. The North
Node/Saturn in Sag is also a path of political leadership and responsibility
for the destiny of many, as his wisdom has led us down a long path of
success and world leadership in a relatively short time in political
history. Our greatness has been sabotaged by a certain crazy faction
of extreme right wing nuts that has put our country on the brink of
economic collapse.
4-13
Thomas Jefferson is the author of the Declaration of
Independence and the father of our democracy, perhaps more than Washington
and the others. He and Ben Franklin had some similar ideas and they
came up with a good document upon which to build a new nation. Conceived
in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created
equal. His words, not mine. I would have said all people. And they really
meant white men, since the black man wasn’t equal to the white
man at the time. Let me lay out a view of his chart that is clear and
direct for as complex a man as he was. With the Sun in the Sag decan
and the Moon in Sag, law, education and travel were his constant callings,
but so was extravagance and living beyond his means. He had too many
interests and talents to go into and any good bio will inform you so
I will stick to the chart. Venus on the Taurus North Node and Pluto
on the Scorpio South Node would make for some heavy financial karma,
too be sure, always borrowing and owing. This is the deepest-rooted
issue because the ruling planet of each sign is on the respective node.
Mars square the polarity means his impulses and temper or lack of follow
through may have been a difficult detriment. Mercury in Pisces sextile
Uranus is the genius and intellectual brilliance with the touch of the
poet and the Capricorn Uranus conjoined his zero degree Aquarius ASC,
giving a tall appearance and a bit of a know-it-all attitude. Moon square
Jupiter made for exaggeration of emotional reactions and the need to
makeover his home many times, always bigger and better. The engineering
skills necessary for the task would have been so beyond so many people
of the time in this country. Sun trine both Mars and Saturn in Leo was
a major contributing factor to his authority and assertiveness in expressing
his views. His friend, Aaron Burr, was the man to have killed TJ’s
archrival and supreme political foe, Alexander Hamilton, a Capricorn
Federalist. TJ’s party was actually called the Democratic-Republican
Party until the first Republican came along but that was a very different
party under Abe Lincoln. We were fighting to maintain a republic at
that point anyway, while under TJ, we were expanding a new government
and it was getting bigger all the time. His secret problem is the Saturn
inconjunct to Uranus, a severe lack of patience and committed long-term
focus. Aries do have short attention spans and with Sun square Uranus,
you would have to expect the unexpected with the man, anyway.
5-14
Senator Byron Dorgan is from North Dakota and Ed Schultz likes
him a lot, not that they are an item, mind you. He has been active on
the policy committee and sets the agenda for the Democrats in the Senate.
His Sun and Moon both conjoin Uranus, leading him toward the future
with progressive ideas that humanity needs and they all trine Neptune,
so he’s a spiritual man who really cares and understands the plight
of the downtrodden. Saturn is also conjoining this little ensemble,
increasing his sense of duty and responsibility. Venus in Aries is in
a trine to Pluto, which could make the temptation of illegal contributions
attractive but he gave back the Abramoff money, which was from Jack’s
clients, not Jack directly. Mercury sextile Venus considers the impact
his actions have on others, yet with Venus square Mars he was under
pressure to act on impulse and take the money. Jupiter is square Neptune
and that may have created a pervasive culture of corruption and he got
accused along with many others.
5-15
Madeline Albright was Sec’y of State under Clinton
in the 2nd term and has been seen and heard on TV but not much by the
Bush administration. It seems that they would rather be like ostriches
than be aware of how to deal with real governments in the world. What’s
a bit funny is that she’s born one month after her successor,
Colin Powell and less than three weeks after Saddam Hussein, in the
same year! This reflects the power she wielded and it shows in her Moon
in Leo conjunct Pluto trine Saturn and her Sun/Mercury/Uranus in the
10th house. Mars in Scorpio opposite her Sun shows the kind of men and
people in general she had to deal with and yet she’s managed to
acquit herself and fulfill her duties in a turbulent time. Mars trine
the Moon/Pluto adds the assertive intensity and depth of feeling to
the whole affair.
5-16
Senator Ben Nelson is the conservative Democrat from
NE who has a similar chart to Byron Dorgan but oh, what a difference
a year makes! Nelson has Saturn on the Sun, seven degrees away but he
still has four planets in Taurus and likes the money aspect of politics
and doesn’t mind the suspension of our civil liberties as they
can be bought with the right congressional credit card. Moon in Aquarius
conjunct Mars in Pisces makes for a fighter but also one who has a hard
time going 16 rounds. Perhaps the Neptune trine to all his Taurus planets
has allowed him to accept his faith as part of his nature. I actually
think he’s got a compulsive side to his nature, so let me explore
that tack. His Mars in Pisces can flow into addictive patterns with
the erratic emotional instincts on the Moon and he could flip out and
surprise someone in not a good way. Fear and loathing in Washington
DC, would be a title for his life.
His
Moon is conjoining Jupiter in the 11th, making him a noble, generous
and positive leader who’s own need for security is enhanced by
putting out his own effort in a giving way and getting in return from
the universe. The more you give, the more you have, yet the less you
need, so the more you give. It might be considered that the woman he
married, Elizabeth, is a lawyer and his number one advisor. She’s
also indicated by his Juno/Pallas conjunction to the Moon, showing her
wisdom and partnership skills as well as her weight problem, which may
be connected to her son’s death. His Sun is conjoining Mars, also
in Gemini, indicating that he is a fighter and takes action, standing
toe-to-toe with all comers. He would also have been a hero in Viet Nam
had he been a little older and not just missed the draft and the war,
having graduated as the war ended.
I’ll tell you this…he won’t be the frumpy, grumpy,
Snidely Whiplash (Backlash) that Cheney is. He won’t be pressing
the flesh with huge corporate interests who seek to bribe him or Kerry
because they are already rich men who can’t be bought…or
so we like to believe. Since JE has Jupiter rising before his Sun and
it’s in a close conjunction with the Moon, his message is one
of hope and optimism for a better future (11th) and he has ideas to
make those things a reality. It can also mean a favorable relationship
with the mother, or a guy who takes advice from his wife, while Saturn
square Uranus may indicate a cold or detached association or even separation
from the father. I know about that, having it in my chart. As such,
he was able to come into his own without restriction and aim as high
as he wanted to go. The Jupiter oriental appearance makes him a natural
for law and government, as well as jovial, enthusiastic and optimistic.
6-10
John Edwards
Here is a man of the people, having 4 planets in Gemini, reflecting
others’ ideas and experiences. As most of you know by now, he
was a trial lawyer and had won many of his high profile cases so as
to amass several million dollars. Now, that doesn’t make him a
bad guy but I can tell you right now, he won’t be supporting the
Bush proposed law to limit class action suits to the federal level.
First of all, the president, who places those judges on the bench, can
control the federal courts.
Now John boy was born and raised in the Carolinas but it doesn’t
mean he’s a country hick. Gemini is the sign of the city dweller,
whereas, its opposite, Sag, is the country boy, the adventurer and world
traveler. It’s interesting that he was on the intelligence committee
in the senate and Pluto is at the midpoint of his Sun and Saturn/Neptune
conjunction, sextile to all of them. His Gemini curiosity seeks to understand
all the information available about what goes on in the world that escapes
the notice and avoids the control of the powers that be.
Edwards has Mercury, his ruler, in Cancer, the sign of family and homeland.
It’s a mind with a great memory and sentimentality, sensitivity
and responsiveness, as in the need to care for his neighbors and constituents.
Venus in Taurus is sextile to his Mercury, so he connects with others
in a one-to-one relate-ability very easily. He can see your view and
appreciate your need for security and the basics needs of life.
Along with the Moon/Jupiter are Juno and Pallas, so he has wisdom in
his relationships, as people attest upon meeting him. He comes across
as genuine and interested in their concerns and finds a way to remedy
the situation. He needs to make things better in a way that relates
this wisdom to those who can benefit from it. He would want to interact
with people who had a level of intellectual expertise and experience,
and, as a lawyer, made many friends of intellectual skill. Not all of
them are worthy of his respect, however, just as the remainder of the
Senate isn’t all his good buddies. Colleagues are one thing, but
close intimates…quite another thing.
He has Cancer Rising, an indication that he has family at the forefront
of his mind (Mercury’s there) and the core of his experience.
With Uranus in the 1st house, he projects liberal values to a degree,
but the Cancer ASC gives him more traditional perspectives of the middle
class son of a mill worker. He is a protector of those too weakened
to stand up for themselves and he knows what the common family has to
go through to survive. Rich and privileged sons who go to Yale comprise
the other candidates, Edwards comes from the masses, and has aspired
to the classes, a real American rags to riches story, the American Dream
itself. The GOP will tear him apart but they do that to every opponent,
without regard for the truth. Since Edwards has the Moon as his ruling
planet, he stands for the families how have been affected by the rising
and falling economy. His mom may have been a major influence in his
morality and demeanor.
7-11
John Quincy Adams was our sixth president and was the first
whose father was president but he had a strongly developed mind of his
own and made it clear that his ideas would continue to affect the course
of American politics after he left the White House, since he ran for
congress and remained there until his death. That is the life of a public
servant. For him, there was none of this current day crossover to the
private sector, which just breeds more corruption, special interests
and lobbyists. Born on a Full Moon in Capricorn, his Mercury conjunction
to Mars made for an intelligent, direct and forceful speaker with a
flair for always being right or at least in tune with his personal ideals.
His Venus conjunct Neptune and trine to Uranus would have appealed to
the Christian right and the liberal left if he were alive today. He
had Scorpio rising, which makes sense having had a Scorpio dad and his
Sun, Mercury and Mars were all in the 9th house, excellent for a lawyer
and politician. Finally, his Moon was trine Jupiter, a likable and honest
fellow, he was only defeated in 1828 because Andrew Jackson ran against
him and was a very popular hero in the War of 1812. In addition, it
was also a slavery thing, with the New Englander being against it and
the South, as you all know, for it, and Jackson was a Southerner.
7-15
Arianna Huffington is my favorite political writer
because her Jupiter in on my Sun, so I light up at her honesty and wisdom
about the political scene. Her Sun, Moon and Mercury are all closely
conjoined in Cancer but only a trine to the North Node connects them
to anything else. Cancer is the sign of the historian and she knows
her history and she studies current events with a great deal of scrutiny.
With Mars conjunct Neptune in Libra, she was in denial about her own
power, especially with them square her Sun, she deceived herself into
believing the lies of the Right and married a GOP politician who turned
out to be gay. Aware of the deception and corruption of an extensive
part of the Right, she switched to become the Lovely Lefty Liberal,
policing the lies of the opposition. Her Chiron trines Pluto, so as
she transformed her life, she healed a large wound in her soul and began
to win those who could be inspired by her and guided by her revelations
and insights. Juno on the South Node would indicate major problems with
marriage or passionate relationships. To top it off, her Venus squares
Saturn, so she never got a whole lot of love from daddy and transferred
her desire for that onto the patriarchal party on the right. As she
became aware that she didn’t need that validation, which didn’t
validate anyway, she moved on dot org. Jupiter trine Uranus gives her
an unexpected source of good fortune and luck with reaching the public
which opened up a whole new life for her, and she has embraced it with
every fiber of her being.
7-18
Nelson Mandela is a man who could not just accept fact
that his people were being beaten and imprisoned for insignificant reasons.
With Venus trine Uranus, he felt he had to help his oppressed people,
even if it meant sitting in prison for years as a symbol of apartheid.
Moon in Scorpio trine his Sun gave him deep feeling for the people of
his country and felt he needed to make changes there. Mercury Saturn
in Leo square his Moon show his depression and frustration at dealing
with people in positions of authority and power, as they tended to be
corrupt of have old world attitudes of colonialism. His Jupiter/Pluto
in Cancer (homeland) trine Uranus allowed him to lead his people into
a more democratic form of government, in fact, they are leading the
way in the southern part of Africa, as they are investing in the smaller,
unstable countries.
7-18
John Glenn was the first man to circle the Earth in
a single man space capsule. With four planets in Cancer and three of
them opposite the Moon in Capricorn, he was always going places. His
Mercury/Pluto trine to Uranus made for a thoroughly scientific mind
that probed and investigated every possible clue. The Moon trine to
Saturn and Jupiter in Virgo was his choice to serve his country in multiple
capacities. Venus in Gemini sextile Neptune but square Uranus gave him
a faithful and understanding wife who would accept separations and sudden
departures. Venus square Jupiter makes one want more than they have
and can also make them foolishly generous. It all depends on how you
were raised.
7-23
First and foremost of birthdays today, I must celebrate and elevate
Woody Harrelson to the top of my list, especially since
I wrote a treatment for a movie with him as the star. It’s a battle
of the political movie stars, as Woody wipes the state with Arnold,
one of the only times in his whole career he has been beaten. Woody
is so ready for this challenge because his progressed Moon is approaching
a conjunction with his Sun, uniting two major life energies into a unified
whole. His progressed Sun is approaching natal Mars, sending power coursing
through his body as he readies to take on one of his greatest roles
that will change a state, a region, even a whole nation. But I hint
at what I am writing about, so let’s get back to him. He was born
with his Leo Sun in opposition to Saturn in Cap and Jupiter in Aquarius,
showing his opportunities to govern to be very potent, yet he has experienced
the law fighting for his personal expression and he has won in court.
It also represents his being at odds with his father and his interests
in the darker side of politics. His Uranus is on the North Node in Leo
bringing liberation, leadership and personal freedom for a new age.
Moon in Sag makes for a traveler and one who likes adventure and truth
as well as personal freedom and independence. His Mercury is in Cancer
sextile Mars in Virgo and trine Neptune giving a quick and intuitive
mind, able to understand and act upon that knowledge. They also trine
Chiron and bring in the healing and mentoring element of his purpose.
Moon square Pluto might indicate the corruption in the family of origin
and how murder and mafia or CIA might be involved. His Sun square Neptune
in the 1st made him a victim of the childhood circumstances. The Moon
is also square Chiron revealing the deeply wounded mother and feelings
of pain that won’t go away as the Pluto square shows obsession
and even self-destructive behavior. Venus in Gemini square Mars in Virgo
would prove a challenge to stable and harmonious relationships, as well
as having multiple relationships simultaneously.
8-5
With the return to space, if only for this one trip, it is obvious to
salute the first man on the Moon, Neil Armstrong. He
is a man who symbolizes what is great about America. JFK put it all
into motion with his promise to land a man on the moon and return him
safely to Earth before the end of that decade. So does it show that
the all-American Armstrong would fly? Did you need to ask? As a Leo,
he has always liked the spotlight and showing off is what flyboys did
back then, whether they were top guns or second bananas. His Sun is
trine Uranus, planet of outer space and they have a sextile from Mars
in the middle, giving the strength and leadership ability, assertive
and boldly going where no one has gone before. Three planets are in
Virgo, with Mercury conjunct Neptune early and Venus late in the sign,
so hard work and attention to detail have always been strongly involved
in his life. His imagination was always potent and he worked to make
his dreams come true. Venus square his Moon in Sag would be a problem
in personal relationships and cause apprehension in forming intimate
bonds, as with a Sag Moon he’s always on the move, anyway. Saturn
trines the conjunction of Mercury/Neptune and reinforces his work ethic
and sense of duty. He has a sense of his place in history, with Mercury
trine Moon, which nobody can take from him nor will anyone forget.
8-19
Bill Clinton has been examined by me in previous years
but he is so well-loved by the world, especially Africa and Democratic
Americans, that he’s going to be around for a while. He has a
stellium of 4 planets in Libra near his ASC and his Sun squares his
Taurus Moon in the 8th (BJ likes BJ’s) and shows his sex addiction.
Mercury is sandwiched by Saturn and Pluto, so the devil and the darker
demons always plague his mind and tear him in indecision with all that
Libra. I could cover a lot of things, as in the fact that he’s
born just over a month after Bush, but let’s look at his Solar
Return, since it’s on a Full Moon, which conjoins Neptune and
trine Jupiter, so he’s going on an overseas vacation. Mercury
conjoins Saturn, as he just had his second Saturn return and they oppose
the Moon. Mars squares the Moon/Mercury opposition, so he should expect
arguments and discussions about his past, especially as the issues involve
his wife and she is considering the presidency. If he’s in New
York or on the East Coast, he’ll have a Capricorn rising and will
work for food, debt relief, discounted medication, better education
systems and health care. He won’t stop until he drops because
he cares about others so much. It comes from being a disciple of JFK.
8-22
Norman Schwartzkopf, the former General who led American
forces into the battle for Kuwait in the Gulf War, has Mars conjunct
Pluto opposite Moon, a warrior’s aspect if there ever was. Venus
in Leo on the South Node square Uranus gives him very unusual tastes
for his position. He’s an opera lover and the divas of old music
are represented by the Venus and South Node conjunction. It could also
be divorce or separation from loved ones. Moon square Jupiter is his
large size and makes one a big eater. His Sun and Mercury trine Uranus
allowed him to think independently, applying his genius for surprise
tactics to beat the enemy rapidly.
8-24
Max Cleland is the former Senator from Georgia whom Bush people
destroyed when beating him out for his seat in the 2002 mid-tern election.
They used lies, deception and dirty tricks to sway the voters away from
a decorated Vietnam veteran, even questioning hs patriotism. His chart
shows the sacrifice he made for his buddies, as his Moon in Aquarius
and Sun square Uranus attest. The three lost limbs are suggested by
Saturn in Gemini square Mars in Virgo. Four planets in Virgo certainly
puts him in uniformed service as well as congressional service to his
country. Venus conjunct Pluto opposite the Moon probably made him some
corrupt enemies in high places. The lawmaker aspect is the quick, detailed
and intelligent mind of Mercury conjoining Mars sextile Jupiter in Cancer.
The liberal attitudes could be Aquarius Moon trine Uranus, while his
status as a diplomat is the Moon conjunct Pallas.
8-27
LBJ was the last Democrat to sweep the South, but then he passed
the Civil Rights laws and knew he would have no chance to change the
hearts and minds of a deeply ingrained but prejudiced sector of the
country. He also had four planets in Virgo but all of them were personal;
Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars, with Venus conjunct Neptune in the 12th
house, to deceive the American People about the reasons for war. He,
too, was serving rich donors with power and influence, specifically
Brown and Root, now a subsidiary called KBR of Halliburton. Mercury
trine Uranus made for the progressive Great Society concept but he caused
the beginning of the Great Divide in this country, or perhaps, rekindled
the North/South battle of the Blue and Grey over civil rights. He would
have lost the 1968 election based on his awful conduct of the war and
after RFK was assassinated, Humphrey didn’t stand a chance.
9-13
In Costa Rica, Oscar Arias, the Noble Peace Prize winner,
was again elected President in March of 2006 and he will bring great
things to that little Central American country. If only we had a president
like this genius, who has Moon in Aquarius and Mercury/Neptune trine
Uranus along with Sun/Mars trine Jupiter/Saturn. His Venus/Pluto and
Juno are all very close together in Leo, giving the passionate Latin
lover some credence but that’s not what he’s really all
about. He’s more about sharing the wealth of the nation with its
people, in fact…all of Central America has benefited from the
Arias Peace Plan, which stabilized the region in 1987, the year of the
Harmonic Convergence. As a result, he has no love for the Bush regime
or the Bush family. His Mercury is only four degrees from Neptune, which
makes for a poet, dreamer and a practical idealist, since it is in the
workingman’s sign of Virgo. Pallas Athene is only three degrees
away from Mercury but in Libra, making for great diplomatic skill and
ability to negotiate with discordant circumstances to bring about a
peaceful resolution without violent revolution. Mars is within five
degrees of his Sun in the oriental position, so he is a fighter for
the worker. Moon square Uranus would indicate time away from home and
family with a sense of separation anxiety for a time. He has several
quintiles, an aspect of creative genius, although Venus/Uranus is the
only one that involves two planets. There’s also a Jupiter/Chiron
quintile, which could be healing the way government functions. He would
be my choice for Pan-American President, if we ever had one…and
it could happen.
9-17
David Souter is the appointee of Bush the 1st and he turned
out to be more liberally moderate than conservative. Who knew a Virgo
would serve in a way that worked properly as opposed to from an ideological
perspective? He’s a compassionate, considerate, analytical and
understanding judge and may have been perceived as a conservative early
on as he has Saturn on the South Node. As one matures, they advance
toward the positive traits of the North Node while repudiating the negative
traits of the South Node. The Libra North promises compromises, awareness
of the rights and values of others and takes a back seat when it comes
to leadership. You rarely hear much about him or his opinions, as he
is merely doing his job to the best of his ability with the detailed
astuteness and a lack of any partisan agenda. His Moon is in Scorpio,
so he digs deeper into research material than most and loves his quiet
time. The 4 planets in Virgo trine Mars in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus
to form a Grand Trine in Earth bringing an ability to build a solid
foundation and excellent reputation. His detractors will call him weak
or wishy-washy but he believes in this country, having his Chiron and
Pallas Athene in Cancer near the US Sun degree, which is the same degree
as his Nadir. Mars is opposite Pluto, so he will have to face down the
corruption that seeks to influence his vote. It is my opinion at this
time that he might actually be the best Justice for the Chief position.
Except for Mars square the nodes and Saturn, he has little in the way
of planetary conflicts. He’s more like an abbot or old monk. It’s
better than sending in a rookie to lead the team.
10-1
Wm Rehnquist and Jimmy Carter were born in the same
year on the same day, so it’s fascinating that they were both
at the highest level of their fields at around the same time, in the
late 70’s. So it isn’t the aspects that make a person conservative
or liberal, it’s their influence and upbringing. It is almost
deflating to an astrologer to have certain ideals derailed by the stark
contrast of people born on the same day in the same year. The key difference
is the ASC and house placement of the planets as they influence character
and attitudes as well. One thing they share is a high level of intellect,
with Mercury in one of its ruling signs, Virgo and its opposition to
Uranus, always wanting to know, so asking questions…at least,
in most cases.
The Peanut President has Libra rising, so his sentiments are with the
common man, appreciating the balance between the need for business to
be done and the requirements of the people to live life without fear
of want. His Jupiter in the 2nd shows his abundant money, and generosity
of his building experience, manifesting in Habitat for Humanity
The Right Wing Chief Justice may exhibit the intolerance of individuality
and freedom to be different with his Aquarius Mars on the South Node.
I cannot judge the man as he never really judged me.
10-2
Johnnie Cochran was a Libra with North Node in Sag,
so was born for the law and believed in the justice system. He had four
planets in Virgo, Venus, and the Moon closely conjoining Neptune and
Mercury. He believed in people and he believed in our system of justice,
yet he was shrewd enough to know how to read the law in such a way as
to benefit his client. If the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit.
His Sun in opposition to Saturn put him in competition with very conservative
and powerful people and yet, he managed to get justice in most of his
cases. If you got a legal problem in the hood, come to Johnnie and he’ll
make it good. His Venus trine Uranus is the friendly ease of dealing
with celebrities because he’s a sociable guy, anyway, and being
a Liberal, he’s a social activist on a case-by-case basis. The
aspect that led to his death is the natal Mars opposition to Chiron
and square to Saturn, a chronic pain or old wound would cause a blockage
in the brain when he reached a certain age, as indicated by the aspects
unfolding as they did. His chart was hit by transiting Saturn entering
Cancer in a square to his Saturn in Aries and opposite his Mars right
on his Chiron. It was then he had the first stroke that would lead to
his death this past week. Actually, I think he started really going
downhill when Bush started going after the trial lawyers. And when he
got reelected, Johnnie decided it was definitely time to check out and
head up to the big courthouse on the sky.
10-8
Dennis Kucinich, the congressman from Ohio, came to national
attention last year in the presidential primaries. He was the one most
against the war in Iraq, along with Howard Dean. They are the farther
left wing of the party. Dennis is highly intelligent and forward thinking
with Mercury conjoined to Jupiter in early Scorpio but with Moon in
Pisces and Sun conjunct Neptune, is a gentle, sensitive and spiritual
soul, with natural anti-war tendencies, no matter what the situation.
Yet, the little firebrand he is, he has Aries rising, making him a fighter,
and took Kerry and Edwards all the way to the end of the primary season
before admitting defeat, although it was the numbers that forced him
out. His Sun trine Uranus is what makes him so progressive, but his
Mars is square Saturn/Pluto in Leo so has to fight against powerfully
corrupt forces all the time. He’s in Ohio, which is a Blue state
that was turned Red from the blood of unions dying in the cities as
the factories close from outsourcing and people pressured by church
to vote against their values and economic concerns. The Congressman
has Moon square Uranus and was a bachelor for the longest time, but
I think he’s gotten engaged this past year.
10-9
John Lennon would be 64 right now, if he were alive,
but 25 years ago, he was assassinated by a guy who was programmed by
GHW Bush, formerly of the CIA, although, you’re never cut off
unless they want it that way. There’s enough on him to fill a
book, even if you only focused on the conspiracy and the assassination
itself. There’s enough material just on his struggle with drugs
and various therapies he tried to fill a psychological thesis or dissertation.
Of all the Beatles, he was the most passionate, articulate, militant
and peace loving of them, although George was the mellowest and most
spiritual, hence least confrontational, except for Ringo, who just nodded
in smiling ascent in his quiet Cancer way. In 1981, he would have been
eligible for US citizenship and GHWB didn’t want that to happen,
so after he was assured of being elected, he had Chapman programmed
and committed to the dirty deed. Too many things add up and John was
on an FBI watch list for the last decade of his life, at least, maybe
longer. Briefly, his chart has Moon in Aquarius opposite Pluto in Leo
square the opposition of Mercury in Scorpio to Jupiter and Saturn exactly
conjunct in Taurus. Growing up in the first four years of your life
wondering if the Jerries are coming to kill you or take you prisoner
would have been traumatic. Sun conjunct Pallas Athene and the North
Node show his destiny to share wisdom in peace and love with the world,
and that would be his service. Mars conjunct Neptune trine Uranus gave
him the natural rhythm and blues it took to make music work, but it
was an era of no TV and a lot of kids grew up learning to play an instrument.
Even when he was older, TV wasn’t anything worth watching at that
time and getting together to play music was a cool thing to do, anyway.
His assassination was a time when minor Saturn for authority figures
squared his Neptune (victim) and was quincunx his progressed Sun (the
ego of Big Brother), which, in turn, opposed natal Uranus (the liberator).
The minor Moon opposed Neptune, so deception and secret government cover-ups
abound. The transits were stark as Mars squared his Sun and nodes, Jupiter
and Saturn conjoined them, the North Node was on the asteroid of sacrifice,
Vesta and Chiron was on his natal Jupiter/Saturn, showing the wounded
governmental leaders. Uranus opposite Uranus is the suddenness of his
exit and the South Node in the 12th in Aries show the secret orders
that someone other than the mastermind took the shot; someone very far
from the source, the true enemy hidden away.
10-26
Hilary Clinton might be the first woman president and
she has a chart similar to Kevin Kline, who portrayed the president
in the movie Dave, since she’s born two days after him in the
same year. She has her quirks and talents and was also a lawyer, but
not just on TV or in the movies, but in real life, so she must be pretty
smart. She has Mercury retrograde on the South Node and has brought
in past life knowledge that she is compelled to share with the world.
Her Moon is at the last degree of Pisces, so she would have very deep
and compassionate feelings but it squares Uranus so it seems she can
be cold and detached. Her Venus squares Mars/Pluto, so she has had issues
with her partner’s philandering ways and has some deep resentment
but has maintained a tolerant approach. Saturn is sextile Uranus, which
is her ideal goal to reach a cooperative relationship with the conservative
centrists and the liberal individualists. When you have free thinking
independent people, you get many differing views. I was reading about
the early days of Christianity, as the formulation of the established
church came into creation. It sounded like the orthodox traditionalists
had to wipe out the radical believers in teaching of Jesus that weren’t
approved for mass dissemination. Hilary has a spiritual connection to
the source with that Moon in Pisces, as does everyone else, no matter
where your Moon is. She also knows that she has a duty to serve humanity
as her Uranus is on her ASC and her North Node is in the 11th. The Moon
trines Mercury and Jupiter, giving her a good memory and a lot of wisdom
from a deeply rooted memory, as Scorpios are known to never forget.
I’ve known some who added ‘never forgive’ to that
thought.
10-27
Teddy Roosevelt was the president who established the
National Parks System and with Jupiter on the ASC, had big dreams and
visions of how great a country this was and could be. He wanted to preserve
the bounty of nature for future generations but members of his own party
have destroyed much of the legacy he built. He has a load of oppositions,
such as Sun/Mercury opposite Pluto, Venus in Sag opposite Jupiter on
the ASC, the big, burly bear of a man is this position. Neptune square
the polarity shows high levels of romantic idealism and fantasy, perhaps
with expectations too great to be manifested in reality. Moon in Cancer
opposite Mars in Commander Capricorn brings the fighting man charging
up San Juan Hill in the Spanish American War yelling, “Bully!”
and swinging a sword.
10-30
John Adams was our second president and of course, never measured
up to George Washington or even his successor, Thomas Jefferson, even
though he was pivotal in helping to win the War of the Revolution and
helped develop the world’s greatest democracy. He has the same
Scorpio planets as Halley, Sun, Mercury and Venus. Mercury opposes Saturn,
so he always seemed to have an image problem with the populace, since
he had a rather surly side. The impatient Moon in Aries opposite Pluto
is a rather intense and difficult placement, for emotions need to be
kept in check, as the delicate diplomatic disposition dictates. His
Jupiter in Capricorn made for a little too rigid control of the government
and that Mars was square to it almost got us into another war not long
after the first one was almost just barely ended. His chart shows his
reason for fighting to win the freedom of the American people…his
Mystic Rectangle has Moon opposite Pluto and Uranus opposite Neptune.
The Moon is the homeland and family, as extended as it may have been,
while the opposition to Pluto reveals the corruption of the absolute
power of royalty. Uranus opposite Neptune is the escape from religious
oppression that was the basis for the founding of some of these colonies.
He had Saturn in the 4th but near the cusp of the 5th and his son, John
Quincy Adams, also became president.
10-30
Richard Clarke is the former NSA advisor to the president,
who told the Bush administration that they had better watch out for
Osama and Al Quada but they ignored him and fired him. He’s got
the right chart for his line of work, though he works better with women
than men, it seems. He has Sun/Mercury/Venus in Scorpio, the sign of
spies, secrets and assassination…and they are all trine to his
Venus/Uranus in Cancer and all of those, except for Uranus, trine Jupiter
at the end of Aquarius, which is why his views on justice transcend
political divisions and was able to work with both parties. After all,
protecting the homeland and keeping it terrorist free is beyond party
lines. Mars in Sag sextile Jupiter is excellent for the energy and wisdom
of action as well as taking a risk and making a leap of faith for something
that one judges to be the right thing to do. His new book, Scorpion’s
Gate, is set 5 years in the future as the results of the present debacle
in the Middle East become the next problems we have to face. Perhaps
his Saturn on the South Node in Virgo betray his obsessive weightiness
with detail, but the trines to Uranus of all his Scorpio planets is
his ability to see the future in pretty realistic terms. He’s
a very rational man, having no challenging aspects to any of the outer
planets with Mars square Saturn the exception. All of his intelligence,
of both kinds, makes him a modern hero of the war against Bush-aholism.
11-6
Joe Wilson I mentioned back in July when I found out
his birthday. Now we know more about what all he did means. Happy Birthday,
Joe…Scooter is the first to go. Let’s hope next is Karl
Rove, after Cheney, we can crow and maybe to the top, you know. The
former Ambassador has his Sun in Scorpio sextile Saturn, so has a great
deal of respect for those in high office and knows how to deal with
them through proper channels and at the correct time. Moon in Taurus
trine Jupiter in Capricorn reinforce the international diplomatic corps
and indicates that he comes from a well-to-do family or one that prospered
as he is also able to continue to do, since is often an instinct for
luck and fortune. Mercury would have to be well positioned as it is
in a trine to Uranus, with sextiles to Venus in Cap and Mars in Virgo,
which are trine each other. So, he’s brilliant, quick, responsive
and appreciative of other people’s priorities and has a friendly
demeanor. It may be that he wasn’t even aware of his wife’s
true career, as many keep secrets from their own spouse. Still, with
these aspects and his suspicious Scorpio Sun square Pluto would have
figured it out quickly enough. With Neptune on the Libra South Node,
he’s easily swept away by love and Valerie has Moon and Venus
in Pisces, so he was captivated. And as an Aries, she shares the Martian
energy with her husband. The have a Sun/Venus composite conjunction,
and Mars/Pluto in Leo, so have a good relationship going. Her chart
seems to bear out what her role was and that she would be outed is certainly
there when you dig deeply enough. Her career was ruined two years ago
by non-elected GOP operatives appointed to White House positions due
to their extreme right wing nature and loyalty to the head honchos of
the Neo Cons. Scooter studied at the feet of his teacher Wolfowitz and
Rove has been the Bush’s propaganda minister for over 15 years.
They had an agenda to go to war in the Middle East and gain a foothold
in Iraq after toppling Saddam and use to control all the oil fields.
What a play they thought they had! Joe thought he had better make sure
they were lying about the Niger Uranium and present that to the American
people and after he did, the outed his wife and the cover operation
that had taken years to set up right. Apparently, Scooter, Cheney, Rove
and company felt the CIA was undermining their plans to go to war under
false claims because the truth would come out and they knew it since
they are the Intelligence Agency. Bush has no intelligence because when
he said it was good intel, it was the opposite. Somehow, the people
who voted for Republicam congressmen need to call their reps and tell
them to side with the Dems in all upcoming votes, just to upset the
balance of power. This is what happens when a president lies us into
a war and forces a guy to go to Africa to find out what was really going
on.
11-11
Barbara Boxer Her birthday being Veteran’s Day
makes her sympathetic to the military volunteers who have risked their
lives and some who have lost theirs. She has Mercury retrograde very
near her Sun in an opposition to Uranus, so she wants to know what the
RRR has been covering up about the war. Obsessive, passionate and will
repeat the question if it isn’t answered and you know how those
politicians are. I now like Barbie better than Hilary as far as female
candidates these days. Currently on the Foreign Relations Committee,
she needs to be on the Senate Investigation Committee as soon as they
win back the Senate in ’08. Americans will see the truth and will
demand accountability in their representatives and she and Henry Waxman
in the House are trying to keep up with all the incredible amount of
Bush shit they have to deal with. Henry has 5 planets in Virgo and Sun
trine Mars and Uranus, like me, so has ceaseless energy to keep fighting
for the truth, justice and the American Way. Boxer has the South Node
in Aries with her Moon there, so has always had some fight in her and
with her Libra North Node graced by the presence of Venus, she appeals
to those who are fair and appreciate the harmony of civil discourse.
She was born in the Year of the Dragon in 1940 and looks great for a
senior citizen, but it also means she was born the year Jupiter conjoined
Saturn in Taurus and squared Pluto to start the conflagration that was
WWII. She is also blessed with the insight of Uranus trine Neptune so
her spiritual understanding comes directly from the source without need
of an intermediary, as many spiritual people are accustomed to experiencing.
Her progressed Sun and Mercury trine Jupiter/Saturn from Capricorn,
so this is an empowering and insightful time for her, wherein her book
is now in print and is proving to be prophetic or even prescient. With
her progressed Moon in Leo, her character and personality are particularly
strong about now and her star is on the rise because her truth to power
has born fruit. Jupiter transiting over her Sun will happen next year
and she might become more powerful or influential by March of 2006.
We’ll see what Jupiter bears.
11-15
Bill Richardson is the governor of NM who was born in Mexico
to a Mexican mother, so he’s another mixed race popular politician
like Barack Obama. They are the future of the party, along with Hilary
and Boxer. Bill has strong instincts for the law and government, as
his Mars/Saturn in Leo trines Moon in Sag and his Jupiter is conjunct
his Venus near to his South Node, which leads me to suspect he has done
this type of thing in past lives, especially with his Sun on the South
Node. He was probably derailed from pursuing this course in a past life
by someone murdering him to get him out of the way. Moon opposite Uranus
is his big tent and varied constituents and the attraction and appeal
to freethinkers and progressives. His Sun squares the Mars/Saturn, so
may have endured resentment, anger, frustration and the slings and arrows
of children who had a hard time accepting people who were different.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, would be an apt description
of this aspect. He will come into more national attention in the next
year, especially as he speaks out during the mid-term election campaigns.
11-20
Joe Biden is running for president in 2008 but will
he even make it past Iowa? He voted in favor of the credit card companies
to take you to the cleaners and eliminates bankruptcy as an option,
since it will now only protect the large corporate offenders. He’s
a leader on the Foreign Relations and the Judiciary Committees. That
he is a good, positive and personable fellow is indicated by the Sun/Venus/Mercury
in Scorpio trine his Jupiter in Cancer. His Taurus Moon square Pluto
might cause his ethical dilemma regarding which side of his bread is
buttered. There could be some suspicions about the integrity of his
financial decisions, which is probably why he’s not on any of
the finance or monetary committees. His Uranus is in Gemini square the
Virgo/Pisces Nodes and he could have some issues regarding principles,
as in they change a little rapidly for some. His Mars is square Pluto
and could bring up some anger issues that explode at the wrong moment.
Think of Howard Dean after a third place finish in Iowa. I don’t
think I’m buying Biden, but rather biding my time until the real
deal comes along.
11-28
Jon Stewart has gained respectability by disrespecting
the establishment in a respectable way, so I want to do a respectable
and objective analysis on him since I like him so much and don’t
want to over-praise him. His Sun. Moon and Mercury are all in Sag, curiously
like Randy Newman, Jacques Chirac, and Jean Schmidt, but unlike her,
his Mercury is heavily engaged in the chart. While she has angry liar
stamped on her Mercury aspects, Jon has lovable wacko who strays into
profanity with a smile and a wink. Here’s a funny thing, though…he
has several of the same liar aspects that many Republican players have
but being a Sag, his primary motive is to be funny, express the truth
and find out more for himself. Venus is retrograde and conjunct Neptune
in Scorpio, so he has a deep and passionate, almost transcendent love
with his wife and the square to Saturn is the long time it took for
him to settle down and have a family. He didn’t really have super
well-paying steady work until The Daily Show became a hit with him at
the helm. His chart is one big T-Cross, with the Sun/Mercury square
the opposition of Jupiter for the humor and truth opposing Uranus (TV)
and Pluto, investigative research and exposing corruption. Saturn on
the South Node might have made it take extra time to really grow up
and take responsibility and make a commitment. But it sextiles his Sun
and Mercury, so when he got it, he really got it for good and it made
sense what he was supposed to do. It’s what any good Sag wants
to do…tell the truth in a humorous way and be able to have free
time to travel and see places and meet people he would never otherwise
experience. A real comedian doesn’t usually have strong financial
maturity, so the retrograde Venus in its detriment in Scorpio square
Saturn and on Neptune means that he needed a good woman to set him straight
and get a handle on the reality thing. With his talent, he has no problem
earning it, just how to spend it without going broke, because now he
has three other mouths to feed. Chiron and Jupiter are a mere two degrees
apart and it might be that he would want to produce an astrological
or spiritual show, as he has shown an interest in astrology. I have
a few ideas…
12-4
Paul O’Neill was the Secretary of the Treasury
who was the first Cabinet member to walk out in protest of the horrible
policies that Bush was putting forth. Jupiter in conjoining his Sun
and Mercury, so he is a smart and wise man with the experience to know
a fool, because the one he had worked for didn’t seem to know
what to do with the money in the surplus! Then he wrote a book that
explained that Bush had the intention of going to Iraq from the outset
of his administration and certainly wanted to invade as soon as it could
be made to happen. That Paul pissed off plenty of people in his party
is probably true. He was never for anything less than the truth in his
life, which explains why he angered so many, but there it is in his
chart, with Mars opposite Pluto square to Venus opposite Uranus, so
it was always bigger issues and never personal. He had spoken truth
to power and power couldn’t handle the truth. Even his Moon in
Aries is trine his Jupiter, so he couldn’t help himself, which
is why he was the first one of prominence to leave and write a book.
With Saturn in Pisces square his Mercury and Jupiter his selection of
career opportunities might be damaged by those in government who pull
strings in secret. Ultimately, his Sun square Neptune would prefer to
escape from the runaround world of Washington and get away to some quiet
little town and forget about everything. Where is the saxophone solo
now? Tyra Banks, who was born on this day, is the model who has done
well on TV even though it may not be a very good show. I guess the runway
is different than the TV camera.
12-11
John Kerry is a double Sag with Moon in Gemini along
with Mars, Saturn and Uranus, so it’s no wonder so many people
oppose him for re-nomination, myself included. I feel there are better
candidates for the highest post in the land. It could be the Mercury
in Capricorn formality squaring Neptune to make it confusing to try
to follow his reasoning, since he has so many hyphens, semi-colons and
triple dots that his paragraphs are just singularly long sentences.
Had he focused on a music career instead, his speechmaking mannerisms
wouldn’t have been a problem and there would have been room for
someone else to express their political views in the senate from Massachusetts.
Venus in Scorpio square Pluto on the North Node in the 8th may call
in to question his motives for marriage, as there is a certain advantage
marrying the widow of the ketchup fortune. Quite a pickle he found himself
in last year, losing due to dirty tricks with fixed voting machines
and fudged vote counts, as well as long lines and polling places changed
or reported to have been changed. Kerry won in ’04, just as Gore
won in 2000, just with a different state and tactics. This is the conciliatory
senator not being forceful enough in his rigidly diplomatic and measured
speech. Here’s my vision of how things could have gone…Gore
wins in 2000 and the country avoids war in Iraq. Bush loses and goes
on a bender leading up to driving his SUV into a ravine in Crawford
to die in a ditch. The economy booms, environmental disasters are avoided
and cleaning up the planet is a priority. 9/11 still happens but due
to fast Air Force response and with some advance intelligence, three
of the four flights are prevented from taking off and the fourth is
shot down by the Air Force. CIA and Allied military forces find and
capture Osama and bring him and his higher lieutenants to International
war crimes court and they are convicted of conspiracy to commit terrorist
acts. Like John Kerry, I like to see things from a positive perspective,
but I’m an unrealistic dreaming Pisces.
12-18
Ramsay Clark is monitoring the insanity that is the
Saddam Hussein trial but he’s such a defender of freedom and the
American way that even if he is appearing to be for the defendant, he’s
really on the side of justice. He doesn’t want to see Saddam freed
to go back to his murdering ways. He wants the trial to be fair and
allow each side to present its case and let there be a judicious period
of deliberation before sentencing, which should be running Iraq as a
US puppet. Ramsay’s Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Pisces squares
his Sun, so this is an attack on him by the Right, since he has been
behind an Impeach Bush campaign for a while. Sun trine Neptune gives
tremendous compassion but it doesn’t translate to helping people
who are alleged Christians to share his views. Sun in Sag and Moon in
Libra is about as just and fair as anyone could ever hope to be. Mars/Saturn/Mercury
in Sag make for a dynamic, take-charge energy, brimming with ideas that
help make things work better. Venus in Scorpio trine Pluto makes him
passionately loyal to those values that transform our lives into something
that is more meaningful. Four planets in Sag, including Mars/Saturn,
so truth is always worth fighting for…and Mercury conjunct Saturn
gives a serious mind, focused and committed to finding the source of
the problem. Seeing a vision or a goal, it works back to the beginning
and then through to the end and envisions a new goal.
12-22
Patrick J. Fitzgerald, the Federal Prosecutor, is digging
into the connections between the leakers and leakees and where it all
came together. Bob Novak says the President knows who leaked. Why is
this little guy no one had ever hear of coming into such prominence
now? Well, taking down Libby, and next is Rove, could lead to taking
down Cheney and Bush, as well. It’s clear they have lied and if
they perjure themselves, that’s it! Patrick is a Capricorn with
his Jupiter and Saturn conjoined in the sign, but not near his Sun,
which is conjunct Mercury in Sag, rising before the Sun, so will someday
write his story and make lots of money off one of the most vicious scandals
in Washington DC history. Mercury trines Uranus, making for the A student
who really knows more than he thinks he does. The guy has a strong intuition
with Moon in Pisces on the South Node trine Neptune in Scorpio and Mars
in Cancer, so he’s a pit bull with a soft heart for those he likes.
Venus in Aquarius square Neptune shows how his ideals have caused disappointment
with failed relationships on which he had given up. But at this point
in his life, there are so many women who have fallen in love with a
hero of the left that he could get laid in any Blue state in the country
as well as the Blue cities in Red states. This is the guy who could
easily become Attorney General in the next administration, which will
be a Democrat. Then he could run for president after that, along with
Elliot Spitzer, they will clean up American government.
12-23
Wesley Clark is the former presidential candidate as
well as Commanding General of the Allied Forces in Bosnia, and is known
to those who watched the Democratic candidate’s debates last year.
I felt he acquitted himself well and could have held up and won if he
had been the nominee and the election hadn’t been fixed. If he
were to get the nomination next time and chose Jack Murtha as his running
mate, the hawks in the Democratic Party would love it, but that’s
the minority of the party. If Hillary were to win the nomination, she
would need a progressive like Barrack Obama to balance out her centrist
views. It’s actually the working class that fuels the economy
and makes up the bulk of the Democrats but too many people have been
blinded by the Religious Right and have voted against their own economic
interests. Sorry, but I have strayed away from General Clark’s
chart and for a Capricorn who achieved the rank of 4 Star General, that’s
disrespectful and we would be slammed into the brig for that kind of
insubordination. Except now he’s a civilian and that means no
more brig. He has Moon in Aries, which is why he became a fighter and
soldier in the first place. The Moon is your instinct and in Aries,
it’s fight or flight, but without hesitation and he is never the
type to back down. He is realistic enough to know when to regroup his
forces after a strategic withdrawal, but that’s most Caps. Mercury
retrograde is conjoining the Sun in the earliest degrees of Capricorn
and they oppose Saturn and all square Neptune, so the challenge is being
aware of the reality of the situation that faces him from oppositional
forces and the deceptive tactics they throw at him. It could also be
a retiring nature after having lost in the primaries. Moon in Aries
trine Pluto in Leo and sextile Uranus in Gemini gives him an ability
to work with large and powerful groups, like armies and marine forces
and commanding multiple units on the field. Venus in Aquarius sextiles
the Moon and makes him socially progressive, once he doesn’t have
to deal with the limitations of the military life structure. Jupiter
is elevated in the 10th and he would make a good lawmaker, administrator
or cabinet member at whatever level of government he might serve. There
is a square from Jupiter and Chiron nearby in Libra to the Sun/Mercury
as well as Mars square Jupiter, so there has been some excess in his
life and some risky activities, which might well be modified by his
Capricorn energy. Venus opposes Pluto, so some of his enemies have been
very sneaky and underhanded and while it might indicate the attraction
to very dark and sinister people, dealing with them is part of government
life. But he has the benefit of balancing that out with Venus trine
Uranus and Neptune, so as to bring understanding and enlightenment to
those who live in darkness. His North Node is in Cancer, so he is here
to take care of other people in his homeland.
12-31
Simon Wiesenthal just died after spending much of his
adult life hunting down Nazi war criminals. It is ironic that the Iranian
president would start ranting about the holocaust being a myth at this
time. If there is any crime worse than committing one it is spreading
lies about it not having happened. Simon would track down war criminals
that escaped the Nuremberg trials and who assimilated into other cultures
elsewhere in the world. There were many in South America and a few in
the US, as well. With the organization and ingenuity of the Sun/Mercury/Uranus
stellium trine Jupiter in Virgo, it was his service and duty to bring
those criminals to justice. Neptune opposing the stellium sheds the
light on a focus of the victims and their families, as Neptune was in
Cancer, and the escaped criminals who needed to be imprisoned. Moon
in Taurus gave a stubborn tenacity that never permitted him to give
up for a just cause and his longevity bears this truth out. He would
have been 97 today. Saturn in Aries in the 7th, square his Sun made
authoritarian oppressors his open enemy, which would have been the Nazis,
as he was born in the Ukraine and they roared through there on there
way to a stunning defeat at Stalingrad. Having Pluto on the North Node
in Gemini, he was obsessed with learning as much as he could and did
his research thoroughly, so as to know where to go to get his man. Mars
in Scorpio in a close inconjunct to it made some of his methods less
than honest or discreet.
Some
of the lesser presidents have little effect on the positive or negative
efforts of our country…
Jan
7 Millard Fillmore was the president who tried to maintain
the unity of the country in the decade before the Civil War and made
the Compromise of 1850 to allow California to enter the union as a free
state, among other things. He took over the presidency from Zachary
Taylor, who died of acute indigestion, or else he had something caught
in his throat and no one knew the Heimlich maneuver. Who really knows?
And Fillmore is the last president who was neither a Democrat nor Republican,
but rather a Whig. And he had no Vice President! Fillmore was given
his mother’s maiden name for his first name, as the Moon in Gemini
denotes an affinity to his mother, although it is opposite Mars, signifying
some emotional conflicts and a certain impatience and combative responsiveness.
The Moon sextile Saturn shows a working relationship between his parents
as a role model for what he would become. Jupiter in Gemini square Uranus
in Virgo made for many political differences of opinion, especially
since he was of a different party than his predecessor, yet he was adaptable
and worked things out. Venus square Pluto shows him having people he
loves die as well as saboteurs around him, waiting to undermine his
plans. But this was a man with Mercury in Sag opposite Jupiter squared
by Uranus and he probably said too much more often than too little.
1-29
William McKinley was a teacher, soldier and lawyer
before entering public office and becoming a governor, a congressman
and then president. Born with Jupiter on the Aquarius ASC rising just
before the Sun, it was fitting that those were his fields. Warrior Mars
in Scorpio is the elevated planet, in the 9th house of law and teaching.
The Moon in Capricorn was sandwiched in between Jupiter and Saturn,
a natural leadership position, at the midpoint, making it very powerful.
Saturn square Pluto might be why an anarchist at the Pan-American Exposition
shot him when he was caught while not wearing his lucky red carnation,
an obsession with him and having his Sun conjunct Jupiter, he was naturally
rather lucky. He liked to wear a white vest, for some eccentric reason
like the South Node in the 6th house and Hygeia in Virgo. Mars square
Neptune is a tendency to be addicted to some substance and be passive-aggressive.
Venus in Sag square Uranus in Pisces is intimacy issues and aloof detachment
in dealing with too many people to get close. With most of his planets
clustered around the ASC, he was a very strong willed man with frightful
nightmares and possible OCD along with a little depression. He might
have been using Freud’s favorite remedy.
She
plays the president on TV
Jan 21 Geena Davis portrays the first female president
in Commander in Chief and shows the difficulty of balancing a family
and running a government and dealing with international issues as leader
of the free world. Her chart shows her ready for just about any challenge,
as Aquarius is the sign of surprises and her Sun opposes Uranus, so
she seems be to attracting them everywhere. Her Moon in Taurus opposes
Neptune, and for all the actors she has dealt with in life, she knows
them well enough to marry someone outside the business. Her Venus in
Pisces squares her Mars/Saturn in Sag, so her strong yang energy is
a little offset by Venus in its exaltation. Her Mercury is retrograde
in Aquarius at the same degree and condition as Ben Franklin, but he
has aspects to it, whereas, she doesn’t and may not invent anything
or write a new constitution, but she is very bright and progressive.
Aquarians envision the future as they idealize it but can also see it
as it will be, when they are in the moment of clarity in the now. Her
Moon square Sun and Uranus makes it difficult to form deep intimate
emotional bonds. The Neptune could be about acting or victimization
in a past life, leading to compassion on this life. Venus trine Neptune
is enough for her to have significant acting talent. Venus opposite
Jupiter might attract a lot of Sag types and the Pluto opposition Venus
is that deep, compassionate soul that wants to help you redeem another
dark, tortured soul. Mars/Saturn is square the Jupiter/Pluto as well,
so there might be a lot of anger and highly explosive temperament. With
North Node in Sagittarius, the world of politics opens up new dimensions
in her experience and may lead to another career as a politician, although
she should act as long as she gets good roles.

W H Harrison was the president with the shortest tenure, having
given the longest Inaugural Speech in freezing rain and became sick
from pneumonia and died after just 31 days as president. His campaign
slogan is better known than he or his successor today; Tippecanoe and
Tyler too. As a general in the army, he led troops into Idaho to defeat
the Nez Pierce Indians and Chief Tecumseh’s brother, a Medicine
Man, laid a curse on him. Ironically, it would be he who was the first
to fall, as it was he who began the streak that the president elected
on a year ending in zero would die in office that ended when Reagan
literally dodged a bullet and Bush should have been targeted on 9-11.
They could have had a plane hit the White House except, he was in that
school reading and listening to children reading The Pet Goat. But I
digress from the president under consideration, so let’s look
at his chart. Jupiter in Pisces opposite Saturn is a strong leader aspect,
as it gives an honest projection of the truth tempered by the patience
of hard work and effort. His South Node was conjoining his Aries rising
and the ruler, Mars the attacker, in Cancer, was opposite Mercury, Venus
and Pluto in the 10th, hence a powerful leader would be threatened from
outside forces. Saturn, Neptune and the Moon in Virgo suggest the military
life he loved as well as his instinct to help those he perceived as
charity cases, as when he served as head of Indian Affairs. Sun square
Uranus is the suddenness of his death and it’s tie-in to the Moon/Neptune
with a trine to Uranus. When he became president, his Moon had progressed
to a conjunction to progressed Jupiter, his minor Saturn was opposing
his progressed Mercury for the lung problem. Mercury opposite Mars is
a congenital lung irritation and proneness to infection. Progressed
Sun had come into a square with his natal Mercury and minor Uranus in
Gemini squared Saturn in Virgo in the 6th of health. To top it off,
his minor Mercury came into an opposition with his progressed Saturn.
A two-way Mercury opposite Saturn, just the perfect explanation of his
cause of death. By the way, I just found and bought a book called Forensic
Astrology, a title I had thought of a while back. This one is solving
crime with astrology, which I have actually done with the Sam Cooke
murder. As for President Harrison, well, he really didn’t get
to do much of anything. It reminds me of Jonathan Kent keeling over
after being elected senator in Kansas on Smallville, the TV show.
