This
week’s Groundhog’s Day and the State of the Union are
barometers of (political) weather conditions for the near future.
Speechmaking skills aside, it was Bush’s greatest hits, regurgitating
the same spew (Mercury conjunct Pluto with transit Saturn on it now)
as last year and in many other speeches. He is the most repetitious,
repetitive and redundant speaker I’ve ever had the misfortune
to listen to and yet there are others who are worse, I’m sure.
I wouldn’t want to have to listen to a speech by Ted Stevens
of Alaska or Tom DeLay as they are both sick and twisted Aries/Scorpio
crazies. On the other hand, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa
gave the Spanish Democratic rebuttal and made himself a national star
for the Latino voters to look up to. He went down the middle while
still laying on some criticism but without rebuke or rage. The fear
of immigration is a tale told by an idiot, since when do you find
them taking your high-tech job or doctoral program position? Those
get outsourced to Asia, by the way. If you are smart enough, you don’t
have to fear for anyone taking your career away since you can always
climb higher with a better education. Have you seen what CEO’s
make? That’s what makes this a great country. Knock me down
once, fine, but I’ll get up stronger and more determined than
before to do better. If you work through the system and get an education,
like L.A.’s mayor, then you can succeed to the very highest
levels of success. On the show, West Wing, Jimmy Smits is about to
be elected as the first American President of Latino descent. Jimmy
is half Cuban. It’s good to have a real life role model that
can inspire such goals. Tim Kaine the new governor of Virginia said
frequently in his rebuttal to the State of the Union speech that “There’s
a better way” (his oft repeated theme) and of course, it requires
people to get out and elect Democratic and Green candidates in the
November mid-term elections.
Coretta
Scott King died on the day of the speech and Bush acknowledged as
much, praising her for keeping the dream alive while he has been hell-bent
on crushing as much of that dream as he possibly can. She had the
dream, too, because they shared a composite Moon in Pisces, as well
as having it in their respective charts. As you may have heard, Cancer
was the major illness that claimed her life, although there were other
things, as well. The Moon rules Cancer, both sign and disease, so
the minor Moon on the South Node, the progressed Moon encountering
transiting Chiron and she passed with the transit Moon in Pisces.
She knew it was time to go and reunite with Martin, since it has been
38 years since he was assassinated by the FBI or whatever other cover-up
they want to use by saying it was James Earl Ray. Usually, it takes
more than one man to change the course of history by killing one special
or powerful man. MLK’s legacy will live on despite his widow’s
passing because the dream is also a collective one, envisioned by
many great seers and mystics. It reflects a time and place where harmony
did exist and people were free to be themselves without restraint
or peril.
We’ve
gone from having the smartest president to enduring the dumbest one
and they were born in the same year. Bush has the worst combination
of character flaws for public service; he’s a sidestepping,
wisecracking, ignorant moron with half the sense God gave him and
none of the wisdom of his favorite philosopher. He doesn’t face
reality and denies any accusation immediately because of his instincts
to avoid facing the truth or telling it. It’s sad to tell your
C-student child that they are as prepared for the presidency as Bush
is, educationally speaking. The parallels to the book 1984 are staggering
with this guy and many people have made that observation. If he wants
to move into the future, he wants it to be one controlled by his corrupt
capitalist corporate cronies and not the people themselves. He wants
a Hamiltonian plan or even a Mussolini-type dictatorship, not a Jeffersonian
democracy. His Uranus on the North Node is not a beacon of liberty
for all of humanity but rather a technological invasion of privacy
by electronic means for the purpose of knowing everything about you
so corporations can market to you directly. It’s called spyware
for a reason, you know!
The
State of the Union is nothing like what Bush says it is, since he
doesn’t have any public integrity or honesty whatsoever. You
can always count on opposite speak from that man. That’s is
what I said last year in response to the speech. Deception about the
war in Iraq, which was little mentioned, especially all the waste,
loss of billions of dollars and thousands of lives. Oil companies
are making huge profits because they are getting it there for pennies
and selling here for nearly 3 bucks a gallon! And nothing about the
port where so much oil comes onto the mainland, New Orleans. What’s
up with the levees and is there any progress in rebuilding the city?
This is the month of Mardi Gras and if they want to celebrate, it’s
important to have a place and a reason to do so. There is a strong
Plutonian quality to the city at the mouth of the great river. It
shouldn’t be allowed to drown and die when it has such a rich
history and it’s only a matter of refiguring the dimensions
of the city and channeling the Mississippi into the delta to build
it up and form better protection in the event of the next storm. Northern
states have offered mud to be shipped down there and deposited to
speed the rebuilding process. It all costs money, though. Very little
was laid out to define the means by which we can afford to take care
of the future financial needs of our people except to the opposite
effect. By making the tax cuts permanent, we are guaranteeing that
the national debt will never be paid off. Ever!
Uranus
and Aquarius are about radical innovations and experimentation, knowing
that what can happen might be more of a shocking surprise than what
you might have expected. Genius is very close to insanity sometimes,
especially when you deal with the outer realms of the mental-spiritual
sphere. Einstein is a good example and DaVinci is another of those
brilliant minds who were thought to be crazy for many of their ideas,
until the future comes along and validates their visions. It’s
a reason Aquarians are able to live life with half of their mind in
the future and the rest wherever it needs to be, since their focus
is as instant as a thought or flash of light. Revolution is also ruled
by Uranian energy and it’s already underway in many parts of
the world, as a new order is unfolding but not the way the Neo Cons
were planning to make The New World Order under their banner. The
victory of Hamas and the rising tide of Islamic jihadism is also disturbing
the force and putting their global domination game into serious jeopardy.
By liberating people and enlightening them, you set them free to create
their own life and help them build the foundation of a better society.
As in South America, where socialism is spreading and empowering people
until they become oppressed or the oppressors.
The
Sun is conjunct Neptune and Bush spoke of our addiction to oil, which
I mentioned last week and he actually outlined a more progressive
energy plan but you know he’s the ultimate opposite speaker
and everything he says is the opposite of what he’s going to
do, just as he has always been. The problem is that we don’t
get most of our oil from the Middle East…we get it from Venezuela
and other places. And then he has his words modified by an unnamed
White House spokesperson that he didn’t mean that, Royal Saudi
family! He meant we’ll cut our oil imports from other Middle
East countries! So he said nothing about fuel economy or efficiency
because if you increased the mileage of light trucks to what cars
get, you could save the amount of money we spend on Saudi oil every
year! We spend too much on a commodity we have the ingenuity to surpass.
The Sun square Jupiter is about excess and exaggeration and overindulgence,
as in buying SUV’s in a time of high gas prices and global warming.
This has been the warmest January in Minnesota’s state history
and I think it’s the same for North Dakota, where it hasn’t
seen the bottom side of the thermometer this year. Who says we haven’t
affected global warming and that it isn’t happening. Mercury
square Mars means arguments are common and it takes a lot of patience
to be able to endure this and not blow up and not throw things at
people.
The
Enron trial started this week and Ken Lay should fry in the chair…but
he won’t, even though it would be nice for some old California
women who could yell, “Burn, baby, burn” to him through
the glass. It isn’t an execution-worthy offence as far as the
US government is concerned but the people who lost everything because
of them have a right to their anger and desire for revenge. It’s
the result of the secret energy meetings that they had with Cheney
in the early days of the administration. By bankrupting California,
they could shift the economy to the right side or even the center
of the country. California had too much economic clout and that power
could hold off the anti-environmental activities the Neo Cons had
planned. This is why they wanted to get Gray Davis out and put Arnold
in, thinking he would be a part of the George Bush lovers association.
In some ways, sure, he’s an admirer of the president, who speaks
a little better English than Arnold. But Ken Lay had approached Arnold
a while before the recall election, as if to prepare him for a move
to the governor’s mansion, but didn’t give him an enthusiastic
endorsement, wanting to keep it under the radar.
<Burning Down the House – Talking Heads>
Exxon/Mobile
records the highest quarterly corporate profit in American business
history last year and yet gas prices were higher than ever. Gas has
almost tripled in the course of the Bush administration. What else
can you expect when he wants to help all his rich friends, part of
the Yale bond of brothers. It’s possible that American oil companies
are buying up cheap Iraqi oil for less than ten cents a gallon and
selling it here for an obscene price. Buy low, sell high has always
been the model for profits and wealth in the world but at a time when
CEO’s are raking in the capital at staggering rates, there seems
to be no one to regulate them and redirect the bulk of the profits
into wages and benefits or research and development of new jobs and
technologies. This used to be the land of the inventor, where someone
could become rich by coming up with the better mousetrap and these
days, it better be humane or you get reported to PETA.
Health
care costs and drug costs have also skyrocketed during this president’s
term in office because his daddy worked for a pharmaceutical as Vice
President at Eli Lilly, the makers of Prozac, didn’t you know.
There is a consortium of health care professionals and associated
industries that have taken the care of out of health care and made
it about money, so that if you can afford to be wealthy, you can be
healthy. I don’t think this is a way to develop the young minds
that hail from poor families but have the brains and heart to grow
up to become great. This is the story of the American Dream because
we have had it as a nation for a long time. We have to care for the
next generation before they are old enough to go out on their own
and do whatever the hell they want to because we gave them no reason
to care about themselves or their lives. If we let the future brain
trust of America get sick and wither on the vine, they we have condemned
our country to failure of the worst kind - apathy. If a corporation
hires a person and exposes them to job-related toxins, the company
has to be responsible for the care of that employee’s health.
If you sell your soul to the company store, they should at least take
care of you so that you remain a loyal employee and not hire some
young kid right out of high school to replace you. Some people stay
at crappy jobs just for the health care, which will be less available
if Bush has his way.
Kraft
has cut 8,000 jobs, further reducing the American manufacturing labor
force in the Midwest. It is likely due to rising health care costs
that they say they are losing money but it’s really the fact
that they manufacture a whole host of overly processed foods that
are little more than junk. Ever read a list of ingredients of most
of the Kraft packages? If you can pronounce everything, you must be
majoring in chemistry and I would think there are a few things on
that list that you go…”What the hell is that??”
I’ll tell you why Kraft is losing money. It’s because
people are moving into healthier and fresher foods. Or at least that
should be the answer. The truth is that people can’t afford
to eat well enough to keep themselves healthy and so it is a national
problem, so they buy bulk generic foods so as not to pay for corporate
advertising and packaging costs. The foods many Americas eat can be
counted as a pretty shitty diet of too many carbs because of too much
sugar and other sources of glucose, such as alcohol and starches.
There are 21 million diabetics in America, because too much sugar
and bad carbs in our foods gives us problems like few other countries.
We’re eating cheaper foods and paying the price in rising health
care costs as well as more weight problems. We are a disgusting nation
of fat blowhards who point at other countries and make fun but aren’t
exactly the shining example of what humanity can be.
Also
in the corporate wars against the citizens, there are corporate victims
of the economic battle, like Chrysler, Ford and GM. Did you notice
what they all have in common? They are all American companies who
have been making and promoting giant gas-guzzlers in a time of economic
disparity and incredibly high gas prices. Giving out rebates to SUV
buyers is absurd, they do no such thing for hybrid buyers, who at
least get to drive in the carpool lane. These are the same companies
who have all but eliminated electric vehicles in the recent past and
have been resistant to the use of hybrid technology, so screw them
until they catch up to the present! They have lost their way in the
world market and can only find their way back by increasing gas mileage
with hybrid or some other technology. Fuel makers also have to do
their part to find better options than mortgaging our financial future
to the Middle East Oil Business. The Japanese invasion has been underway
for a while and we have lost the technology war.
We
have another Civil War brewing and it’s once again the USA versus
the CSA; the Union State of Americans against the Corporations Screwing
Americans. It’s a violation of the anti-trust laws that 5 companies
own 90% of the media outlets, so your news is being filtered more
than you can know. The state of the union is weaker than they ever
could tell you because they don’t want people to panic about
the cost of everything being out of their reach. If you don’t
get the truth in the news, then you don’t know how badly this
insidious government is shafting you. This is really much worse than
any other time in history because it will have economic ripples for
generations and environmental impact for centuries. We have to fight
to take back our country from the hands of those who are doing it
grave harm and monumental diplomatic, economic, environmental and
spiritual damage.
We
are earning less and everything costs more, so how can Bush say it’s
a good economy? Because he’s a delusional liar in denial! He
wants us to have HSA’s or Health Savings Accounts, which would
supplement insurance benefits in the case of major illness. Bad idea
on so many levels! It’s almost the same idea as privatizing
Social Security, as he and his cronies have planned the downfall of
government services for the poor and sick for a long time. Thinning
the herd by letting the weak die off and you can rebuild with younger,
dumber stock who will willingly follow the leader since they will
have been brainwashed by the shit they’ll be taught when Republicans
run education.
Jack-off
Talk, the new show about to sweep the beltway clear of much of the
corruption. The more Jack says, the more congressmen are outed for
bribery. Republican Rep. John T. Doolittle in California has done
too much for Jack-off and has been involved in Indian casino affairs
he has no business being involved in. Check your local congressman’s
connections to corporate corruption and consider carefully. We have
so much to reverse from the last five years that it will take a long
time to get rid of the culture of criminality that is rampant in the
government but you can start by not reelecting the Republic-scammers.
If we are to have new rules then we need Democrats to write them and
chair the investigative committees to determine how far and wide the
cancer growing on the government has gotten.
What
about the criminals who run the country? Even the Republicans want
Bush to reveal how closely he associated with Jack-off. Yet, they
will do little to move toward impeachment or censure, since many of
them were hand-picked by the brush-cutting president and his people.
So many folks have lost jobs, benefits, insurance coverage, welfare,
food stamps, student loans and even Section 8 housing that you have
to conclude that Bush and company hate poor people and want to see
the drag on the economy they create stop. He doesn’t want to
appear obvious and go on an all out war on them but by making it harder
for them to live or get educated or stay healthy, he’s condemned
them to a life of sickly poverty and early death. Why don’t
more people notice these things and connect the dots.
There
are criminals in government and especially in government contractors,
wherein those in Iraq are responsible for the loss of anywhere from
97 million to 8.8 billion dollars. So where did all that money go?
Who knows? That would be Rumsfeld’s attitude. Government Under-sight,
we should call it. Don’t worry, we’ll make more, since
it grows on trees. Bush’s attitude is treat the treasury as
though it were in the game of Monopoly, which they have, anyway and
they are like the older bratty sister who doesn’t let you in
on the banking or deeds but tells you to roll the dice and just play.
I suppose there is a limit to what an elective official can get paid
under civil service guidelines but these people make up their own
rules and take money anywhere they can find it.
Criminals
commit crimes because they have undirected anger issues and seek to
punish others. Often the root is poverty, ignorance or influence from
gangs, a culture steeped in social hierarchies dating back to tribal
dynamics and other peer group pressures. There are Robocop ways of
dealing with crime and there are diversion programs that get at-risk
youths involved in team sports and support groups and the guidance
of a mentor. One of the best things to support is early childhood
education, like Head Start and have them reading before they hit 1st
grade. You’ll lower the crime rate by keeping them in school,
increasing employment and entrepreneurs. Giving people a chance to
make money is only part of the equation, since you have to give them
hope and a sense of civic pride. That’s where leadership skills
come in and need development all around.
Aquarius
rules science fiction and space flight and I have always believed
in aliens who are smarter than we are because they have lived longer
and are more aware of truths we have yet to heed. We’ve been
exposed to many of them but have chosen not to pay attention. Even
Jimmy Carter believed he saw a UFO, although scientists and astronomers
suggested that Venus might have been the object seen, unless Jimmy
saw the thing move erratically. Then you have a sighting. Hell, I
saw something in the sky this week that didn’t appear like a
jet or plane but it was while I was swimming and didn’t have
my glasses or other visual assists.
<Space Oddity – Bowie>
Aquarius
is technology of many sorts and particularly relevant these days is
the computer and your Internet security, or lack thereof. The special
prosecutor in the Plamegate case, Patrick Fitzgerald, had his emails
deleted from his computer, or they hacked in and lifted them out.
This is the kind of sinister secret government black ops I’m
talking about. It reflects the Saturn in Leo inconjunct to Uranus
in Pisces. Saturn is authoritarian power to control and demand from
the populace, Leo is the personal intrusion into our lives that they
are affecting and Uranus in Pisces is the technological treachery
tearing tenets of the constitution to shreds. This makes the citizen
feel victimized, used, bruised and abused by an impersonal system,
as the Leo retrograde acts like a negative of the opposite, Aquarius.
Thus, computer games obsess our kids by drawing them into personal,
and socially interactive war games and other online quests, battles
and adventures. Some of them are first-person shooter, others are
strategy games, while others are role-playing quests or battles. In
their way, they become worldly beyond the boomer framework of suburban
subcultures, strange sex parties and swinging sixties sensibilities
of free and progressive prosperity. We now have to reconsider our
representation at all levels of government. We have to really research
what our candidates stand for and if they are willing to work with
less to reach more who need it. Perhaps public financing of elections
will come about and there won’t be corporate interests controlling
the government anymore.
Here’s
an image of the future of politics. Instead of gray or blue suits,
congressmen should be made to dress like racecar drivers with corporate
logos all over their jumpsuits. They need to post on their websites
the interests they stand for and believe in as well as take money
from. The donors must also be revealed publicly as standing for certain
political goals, like better schools, more firefighters and better,
more affordable health care. In a time of horrific results of an unplanned
war with a debilitating economic impact costing billions of dollars,
the president wants to make tax cuts permanent, which is the most
unpatriotic thing anyone could do! I know…again but it just
galls me, and most people who believe as I do, that he has cut so
many vital services for people who have already sacrificed too much.
You
can’t let what’s going on in the world affect who you
are. To know yourself, you have to have a sense of what you are all
about. This is going beyond your purpose or function in the world
of reality. It’s your ideal of who you are and why you express
your unique essence as you do. Aquarius is the most free-spirited
of all the signs, unconcerned about others in a liberated way as opposed
to an uncaring way, and humanitarian, loving mankind and disdaining
many individuals. This is a crazy planet full of crazy people and
some should be institutionalized because they are a danger to others,
but I know a lot more people will die before the population of this
Earth sees significant change.

2-4 Charles Lindbergh might have caused us to let the Nazis win if
he had defeated FDR. His claim to fame was having his baby kidnapped,
but that was due to the celebrity he attained by flying across the
Atlantic solo. In fact, at times he flew so low that fish jumped over
his wings. Just kidding. Aquarius is the sign of the aviator and Uranus
conjoined his Moon in Sag rising in the first house, so he was a fanatic
for flying from his youth. He was only 25 or so when he flew across
the great blue divide and landed in Paris, an international superstar.
Having his Sun not aspecting any planet but the trine to Pluto and
square the nodes, adulation and attention weren’t really high
on his preferred interests. In fact, with Venus in Pisces retrograde,
he was evasive of personal associations unless they had much in common
with him, as Venus conjoins Mercury, along with Mars in Aquarius.
They all cluster around the cusp within 7 degrees of each other. Had
his Sun been there, too, he would have been a more personable and
dynamic man. Jupiter rose right before the Sun but a half a sign away
and while Saturn was near Jupiter in Capricorn, it was past the conjunction,
making business and politics rather dubious fields for pursuit. He
was an intelligent and intuitive man with Mercury trine Neptune, maybe
having a peaceful vision for the future with aircraft being personal
and individualized as unique conceptions. With Neptune and Pluto in
the 7th house, his notoriety drew the wrong kind of attention and
he was hounded by unscrupulous, corrupt and misguided people.
Rosa Parks, the Civil Rights pioneer, who just recently died in October
and I looked at her chart at that time, so refer back to that transcript.
Dan Quayle is like Dubya, which is why daddy liked him. Apparently,
I haven’t done a thorough going over of his chart, so let’s
take a look. His Moon in Leo conjoins Saturn and Pluto, showing his
family to be powerful and corrupt, but they all square Chiron, so
anything smacking of alternative health or natural healing would be
offensive to this family. With Mars and Sun square Chiron, as well,
he’s a wounded soul with a weak will, a slow brain and a soft
head. Uranus in the 1st house trine his Sun might have inclined him
to sports but he’s also accident-prone, so that didn’t
work out too well. With Venus in Sag making no aspects to any planet
at all, he has never known how to relate to people on a human one-to-one
basis, so you might remember how homely Marilyn, his wife, was. Mercury
square Jupiter made him a liar, storyteller and exaggerator. He was
well known for his misspelling of potato with an “e” on
the end. He also went after a fictional TV character for distorting
the issue of family values. It was the beginning of the Christian
invasion into politics and they just were clumsy about it. His South
Node in the 7th makes for a co-dependent and insecure person who always
needs to be appreciated and approved of in some way. Too bad he ruined
his political future by being an idiot.
2-5
Hank Aaron holds the record for most home runs in a career, with 755.
Adlai Stevenson lost more elections than most people have ever run
because he was ahead of his time, having the brilliance of Mercury
and Sun sextile Uranus. His downfall was his high order of intellect
was beyond the grasp of the common folk of the post-war period and
they turned instead to the leader of the Allied Forces. Perhaps the
Venus square Neptune, Pluto and the nodes made for poor choices in
the people who ran his campaigns.
Ashton Kutcher is really still with Demi, although I can’t believe
it. He really isn’t very bright, for an Aquarius.
Christopher Guest is a unique filmmaker who likes a core group of
actors with whom he has worked repeatedly since “This is Spinal
Tap”. I would characterize his Venus in Pisces square Jupiter
in Sag and Uranus in Gemini quite simply as a lot of weird friends
that he understands and likes having in his films. Mercury in Pisces
opposite Mars in Virgo might be the trust of the improvised dialogue
to the gifted friends who act for him.
Bobby Brown is a crazy man in love with a crazy drug-user woman. Just
consider his Venus in Aries opposite Uranus and Jupiter in Libra on
one side of the South Node and the Moon conjunct Pluto in Virgo on
the other side and you can see what I’m talking about. Plus,
he’s got Mars in Scorpio square his Sun, so he likes arguing
and fighting with the psycho bitch.
2-6
Babe Ruth was the first great home run hitter but was also an incredible
pitcher in his Boston days. His great athleticism and passion was
a combination of anger from his Mars opposite Uranus square the Sun.
Moon square Chiron gave some very wounded issues about his feelings.
Mercury/Venus conjunction in Pisces square Pluto would have caused
him to be extreme in some way. But they also trine the Moon in Cancer,
giving him a good memory for what a pitcher is going to throw and
it gave him the advantage. Mercury trine Saturn has given rise to
a great many spiritual, ethical and moral conflicts because he also
has the Sun square Uranus, so breaks the chain of command when he
can.
Ronald Reagan is on the Political Dart Board.
Bob Marley may have been poisoned to keep his message from spreading
during the Reagan years.
Aaron Burr killed Alexander Hamilton, for which history has forgiven
him, since Hamilton might have engineered great centralist powers
earlier in our history.
Zsa Zsa Gabor is the crazy old former actress who became more of a
celebrity personality who did talk shows and appeared in public for
some promotional thing or other.
Tom Brokaw retired last year and I talked about his chart.
2-7
Charles Dickens is famous for A Christmas Carol but he wrote many
other things, like Oliver Twist, Great Expectations and other books
about poor kids who become successful adults. Moon in Sag on Neptune
makes for an overly impressionable youngster who needs a direction
and purpose. Venus/Pluto in Pisces square to Moon/Neptune sets off
such deep qualities that to see or read a Dickens story is to be transported
back to that time and you see a glimpse of the parallels between then
and now. Mars in Aries square Saturn in Cap is the clash with authority.
Mercury in Cap sextile Uranus in Scorpio gives me thrills since it’s
the whole spiritual realm of psychic phenomena. But it’s also
about using the energy in brilliant genius expression. Sun trine Jupiter
is the outreaching influences as it seeks to expand exponentially.
Sinclair Lewis was an American writer
Eddie Izzard was heavily analyzed last year.
2-8
Evangeline Adams was the astrologer who was the witness in the case
of astrology on trial back in the 20’s, I believe it was. She
nailed the judge on his son, a private topic that had not made any
news. She was what astrology needed at the time, an accurate spokesperson.
Born on a Full Moon in Leo, her Sun had Mars conjoining and rising
right before, so she would be an ardent and assertive woman for her
entire life and the bold Leo Moon loved the attention. Past life knowledge
enters into the picture with Mercury in the first degree of Pisces
on the South Node, so it’s a double karmic energy, especially
in the 12th house. Venus and Jupiter in Pisces are also in the 12th,
with Venus only one degree above the ASC. So she had the protection
of spirit guides watching out for her. Even though things came psychically
to her in dreams or just popping into her head, with Mercury square
Saturn in Sag in the 9th, she made herself study harder because it
was a great challenge for women of her day to get an education and
be respected for it. Things have changed too much the other direction
with girls outnumbering boys at the higher grade point averages. Jupiter
trine Uranus in Cancer gives an intuitive understanding of the uni-voice.
Uranus square Neptune gives rise to the rebelling against traditional
religious beliefs without fear of being labeled as a witch by the
mob of torch-wielding townsfolk.
Jules Verne, General W T Sherman, James Dean, Jack Lemmon, John Williams,
film composer, who wrote a bit of space music, as well.

2-9
W H Harrison was the president with the shortest tenure, having given
the longest Inaugural Speech in freezing rain and became sick from
pneumonia and died after just 31 days as president. His campaign slogan
is better known than he or his successor today; Tippecanoe and Tyler
too. As a general in the army, he led troops into Idaho to defeat
the Nez Pierce Indians and Chief Tecumseh’s brother, a Medicine
Man, laid a curse on him. Ironically, it would be he who was the first
to fall, as it was he who began the streak that the president elected
on a year ending in zero would die in office that ended when Reagan
literally dodged a bullet and Bush should have been targeted on 9-11.
They could have had a plane hit the White House except, he was in
that school reading and listening to children reading The Pet Goat.
But I digress from the president under consideration, so let’s
look at his chart. Jupiter in Pisces opposite Saturn is a strong leader
aspect, as it gives an honest projection of the truth tempered by
the patience of hard work and effort. His South Node was conjoining
his Aries rising and the ruler, Mars the attacker, in Cancer, was
opposite Mercury, Venus and Pluto in the 10th, hence a powerful leader
would be threatened from outside forces. Saturn, Neptune and the Moon
in Virgo suggest the military life he loved as well as his instinct
to help those he perceived as charity cases, as when he served as
head of Indian Affairs. Sun square Uranus is the suddenness of his
death and it’s tie-in to the Moon/Neptune with a trine to Uranus.
When he became president, his Moon had progressed to a conjunction
to progressed Jupiter, his minor Saturn was opposing his progressed
Mercury for the lung problem. Mercury opposite Mars is a congenital
lung irritation and proneness to infection. Progressed Sun had come
into a square with his natal Mercury and minor Uranus in Gemini squared
Saturn in Virgo in the 6th of health. To top it off, his minor Mercury
came into an opposition with his progressed Saturn. A two-way Mercury
opposite Saturn, just the perfect explanation of his cause of death.
By the way, I just found and bought a book called Forensic Astrology,
a title I had thought of a while back. This one is solving crime with
astrology, which I have actually done with the Sam Cooke murder. As
for President Harrison, well, he really didn’t get to do much
of anything. It reminds me of Jonathan Kent keeling over after being
elected senator in Kansas on Smallville, the TV show.

Mark Spitz was the winning-est swimmer in Olympic history back in
the Munich Games. His natural aquatic power was reflected nicely in
Mars/Neptune in Libra trine Sun/Jupiter in ever-so-athletic Aquarius.
Moon in Sag made him go all out and then some. But with Venus retrograde
in Aquarius, money wasn’t that important to him as much as the
sexual involvements with many different types of people, if you know
what I mean. The Sun/Jupiter does tend to get a swelled head and over-inflate
their sense of self.
Berthold Brecht, Robert Wagner
Until
every man, woman and child can look upon their life as having been
educated, housed, clothed, fed and cared for by concerned health care
workers who make a decent wage, as well, we cannot set the standard
for the world. We are a nation of greedy people in power who keep
down the masses. We have grown fat from indulgence and need to learn
to lean to the left to love liberty and our basic freedoms. We have
to unshackle our souls from fear and see our eternal spirit as being
the source of our connection to the universal energy connecting the
whole universe. To aspire to the Aquarian ideals, you just need to
be an individual who is aware that you are unique, free to be who
you need to be and smarter than you have been taught to be. Don’t
worry about the end of the world since there are many more in the
universe to which you can go when this place is all used up. Stay
cool, liberated and independent and you’re living the Aquarian
life.

Happy Valentine’s Day and we’ll salute Honest Abe, as
his birthday is tomorrow, on the Full Moon in Leo. Of course it deals
with love and romance as well as children but it is also a sign of
leadership, and it was natural for Abe to assume leadership, but more
on him later on in the show, when I get to the birthdays of the newsmakers
and earth shakers. As for Valentine’s Day, I’ve looked
into the origins in the last couple of years, so look up in my archives
what I’ve said, as I don’t like repeating myself all that
much. U2 was a big winner at the Grammys with 5 in every category
in which they were nominated. Good things for a good group of great
humans who have gone over the edge to help the planet’s people.
Debt relief and feeding the starving poor of Africa are part of the
agenda but they have greater deeds yet to do, so we’ll see.
They have to change the hearts and minds of Americans politicians.
While
the Sun arcs past Neptune, I have been experiencing technical difficulties
not my own, for a change, but rather with my server being down, thus,
the ruling planets of my Pisces-Leo chart have effectively given me
a forced vacation from having to broadcast every Saturday. Yet, as
it has been a habit for so long, I shall continue in the hopes that
my entrance to the net reopens imminently. The Sun/Neptune is a creative
and spiritual energy, expressing the inspiration of the life force
as a gift from the creator and a charge for us to emulate that creative
force always, as with artistic and loving energy. Living is an art
and your style of life should express who you are. This is already
the last Aquarius show for the year as the Sun enters Pisces during
the scheduled airing of my next broadcast, but I can’t be sure
that will happen, so I will post the transcripts on my web site anyway.
Sunday night is the Full Moon in Leo and it will oppose Neptune and
then square Jupiter. I can’t help but think these aspects concern
the government’s deception on so many of the evil and dark things
they do. Keep in mind that Neptune entered Aquarius in 1998, as the
Internet became very accessible and around the time they were trying
to impeach Clinton so the GOP could take control of the government.
Well, as it happens, they have control of all three branches of government
and everything has gone wrong in so many ways. The point is that the
People of the United States have been victimized and drained of their
resources, with the average American saving minus .5%. It’s
the first time since the depression that Americans are spending more
than they make. You know that’s because of the tax cuts, which
relate to cut services for the poor and infirm. That’s also
old people having to spend more for medication thanks to the Bush
Medicare Prescription drug benefit that only benefited the pharmaceutical
companies and insurance companies whoa re in on the deal. With the
GOP in power, everything becomes privatized and that is something
that will have to stop once the Dems take over. Bush is like Mr. Potter
taking over and everything good goes downhill and all that is evil
and harmful is celebrated.
We
are going to be behind every other industrial nation in the development
of new technologies and advanced medical procedures because we have
been under a religious persecution of intellectual freedom and liberated
thought. Fundamentalism of any stripe is a bad thing but these people
are more ‘duh’ than fun or mental. The approaching storm
of the Saturn in Leo opposition to Neptune as Jupiter squares Uranus
brings significant upheavals. So, it’s likely we’ll have
a political revolution because of repressive religious right-wingers
hijacking our country and destroying the constitution. On the other
hand, since people have to be hit over the head with reality crashing
down around them, it could take the form of natural disasters and
it does feel like earthquake weather or it could be international
terrorism striking fear into the hearts of the perceived enemy. Freedom
loving Americans will not stand for this in this land of the free.
Yet our rights of freedom of speech and free expression have been
impeded by the Patriot Act. The country has fewer beacons of light
and more darkness than ever before because so many great people are
assassinated, cut down in their prime by hateful fascists who will
stop at nothing to prevent advancement of the downtrodden masses.
Oppressive societies can work, if you consider China a real working
example of a working culture. It is a curious parallel to our worldview
of pollution of social repression. It’s only gotten worse in
the last five years but it’s been there about 40 years, since
Nixon and J Edgar Hoover trampled the rights of citizens.
Another
way they make it so your vote counts less is by redistricting or more
correctly, gerrymandering districts so that the politician, with financial
support from corporations in his or her district, chooses his voters
rather than having the voters choosing their candidate to represent
them. In this way, we have allowed powerful people to maintain their
power over the little guy for as long as they want to keep it. So,
we have to bring this issue to the attention of everyone so that more
independent people start getting involved in the political system
and fix what’s broken. You can’t let the Republicans dictate
reality to us because we didn’t drink the Kool-Aid. As such,
I’m glad Barack Obama wasn’t intimidated by John McCain
over reforms in financing and lobbying. They have to change the business
as usual approach to lobbyists and get the money out of the equation
by public financing and by placing higher ethical standards on members
of both houses.
The
Senate decided to finally take care of a decades-old problem of compensating
asbestos victims for their cancer treatments and death benefits. It
was 98-1, the lone no vote was that stupid Okie, James Inhofe, an
unconscionable vote and another reason that he’s already on
the political dartboard. In other health news, it seems that eating
a low-fat diet doesn’t help heart disease or cancer in women,
but it is true that by cutting calories from fat and overall calories
along with increased exercise, you will lose weight. These studies
and research projects are usually funded by corporations that want
to prove that their artery-plugging foods aren’t the only reason
you die of either congestive heart failure or stroke. At least there
has been a reduction in cancer deaths for the first time since the
government began keeping death statistics in 1930. Granted, it isn’t
by much that they have fallen but it shows that we have developed
better diagnostics, increased awareness and improved prevention and
have even improved some treatments, thus eliminating some forms of
cancer from being fatal if caught early enough.
The
rising tide of evangelicals has to be stopped since they want to bring
about the end of the world. The Rapture and the Return of Jesus are
impending, like our doom, as it would destroy much of what we call
civilization. I’m not sure that’s a bad thing but the
truth is that we are the stewards of the planet and have done a poor
job indeed, killing off so many species and hunting others to near-extinction.
The faithful have been brainwashed into believing a sliver of the
truth and none of the reality of what Jesus really taught. Wait until
he returns, people, because he’ll really be pissed off at all
the bullshit they have you believing. You have the fear of God in
you and you lose the love of God.
The
victory by Hamas in Palestine is a blow to peace and more fuel to
the fires of anti-Israel, anti-American sentiments there. If only
Sharon hadn’t taken ill there might have been a chance. But
this is not a promising view of the Middle East and it will get worse
before it gets better. Revolution goes both ways and this one could
see the inclusion of women in the fighting ranks and the institution
of a Palestinian army and perhaps an influx of Jihadists who want
to kill Jews. Of course, the rest of the world insists that no one
will recognize them or do business with them if they continue their
whole “Death to Israel” stance. If you are a minority,
you protest and demonstrate and, if you’re in the Middle East,
you blow things up. If you become the majority, you are responsible
for the infrastructure, the welfare of the populace and the safety
and security of the people. You don’t get that by blowing things
or people up.
Danish
cartoons of Muhammad in various ridiculous scenarios has the Muslim
world enraged at the entire Scandinavian populace, burning their embassies
in Syria and elsewhere. The insanity of Muslims when they get a bee
in their burka is such that it is impossible to deal with them. Far
too many are kept in ignorance of the true ways of democracy, like
that of free speech and freedom of expression so that we can make
fun of anyone, anything and any religion, whether or not anyone approves.
That’s why we have a Bill of Rights. We can’t impose our
views on the rest of the world by force just as they can’t make
us bow down in prayer five times a day. Apparently, they don’t
have much of a sense of humor, but then, this is why they are so repressed
or it could be the other way around. For the Jews, humor has always
been the best medicine in times of trouble and stress. When this country
was more anti-Semitic, Jews were always in the entertainment arts
because they would be accepted for their art, if not for their religious
views. If it wouldn’t destroy so much property and so many innocent
lives, I’d almost agree with those who say ‘nuke ‘em’
but Randy Newman already sang about that in Political Science. Like
to hear it? Here it is.
<Political Science- Randy Newman>
Western
Union has sent its last telegram after over 160 years of getting the
message through. They will still do wire transfers, as it has been
the source of their greatest profits of late but with messaging through
computers and text messages with cell phones, there are too many other
communications options that are faster and more personal. Good news
and bad was sent over the wires in the century and a half of the telegraph.
Technology moves forward and leaves older methods in the dust, relegated
to the museum or the storage sheds of life. I once played a telegram
deliveryman in a scene that was cut out of a movie but that was the
days before cell phones. In fact, there were few cordless phones then,
as well. Electronic communications have been so rapidly advancing
in the last two decades that we could have already zoomed past Dick
Tracy’s two-way wrist radio if we weren’t looking carefully
for it.
The
President’s budget plan leaves much to be desired, primarily
formulation by the other party. Everything in it is wrong for the
people of this country, especially tax cuts in a time of war and dwindling
economic support for those devastated by Katrina and the survivors
of the war in Iraq who have to pay for their lost or destroyed uniform
or other gear, for which they are charged upon leaving the military.
A West Virginia Lieutenant in the Army was charged for his body armor,
which medics burned because it was soaked with his blood. After dealing
with the extended bureaucracy, he was able to get a refund. They have
cut veteran’s health care treatment down to next to nothing
and increasing the money for weapons and ammunition and vehicles to
replace all the ones that have been blown up by roadside bombs. To
ensure the Army has what it needs to kill people over there, Medicare
gets cut to kill more old and sick people over here. It’s so
nice of the president to look out for the people of his own country.
How’s that for a compassionate Christian Conservative? Create
corporate cronyism, cultivating a culture of corruption that encrusts
congressmen with capital from K Street. News writers just don’t
write like that and few journalists are that inventive with the language.
Bush
also called on the nerd patrol to take charge of the future and study
algebra and science and become smarter than the Asians, who have taken
over the tech industry. How is he going to pay for education and teachers?
The numbers don’t add up, however and our tax dollars are being
funneled through the Middle East into offshore accounts belonging
to some of the highest officials in several countries involved in
this war. This is the very thing many people have feared would happen;
that they would have an unending war that would drain the resources
of the reserve to the point where they would have to cut the social
programs of the FDR New Deal. We are getting a raw deal and need to
tell them, no deal. Democrats have to mobilize the message to one
and all that our country and its venerable institutions are being
dismantled before our very eyes because they have used this war as
the means to an end. An end to our freedom and liberal way of life
and an end to the rights of elderly and sick people to get care when
they can’t afford it.
How
does Tom DeLay get a seat on the Appropriations Committee? And they
give him one on the subcommittee overseeing the Justice Department
that’s involved in the Jack Abramoff scandal of which DeLay
is in deeply? How can they give him any kind of position that involves
money being given out to people or oversight on a case in which he
is a major player? This is typical Republican modus operandi to let
the guy wiggle out of the huge trouble he’s in. Put him in charge
of his own prosecution, why don’t they? Meanwhile, over at NASA,
a Bush appointee who was the public affairs official stepped down
after the scientists there reported that he was unqualified for his
position and threatened many of them with severe consequences if they
didn’t word their statements as Bush dictates. It’s nonsensical
to put a Christian evangelical in a scientific environment and expect
any positive results. He tried shoving things like the irrelevance
of global warming and the emphasis on intelligent design as a theory
of creation. He wasn’t, as he claimed, a graduate of Texas A&M,
and there it is…another Texan unqualified for the job he was
appointed to do. The last president from Texas was also a lying bastard
who fucked up our country badly, even while trying to do good things.
I
have an idea on how to save our planet. The government can take over
the oil industry as a matter of national security and defense in a
time of war and claim the biggest ever profits as part of the national
budget crisis. We should actually let the oil companies finance the
war, since they are the greatest beneficiaries. Here’s my vision
for the future; American National Oil Company, ANOC and their employees
will be federal and unionized. There will be the phasing out of petroleum
and phasing in of ethanol production to meet the needs of our domestic
market. All plant sources need to be considered for a green fuel,
including hemp, although the guy in charge now won’t even ever
consider it. EXXON/Mobile should be charged with treason and price
gouging for having the largest profit in the world, ever. How can
this not be a problem for people in power who want to eliminate high
priced foreign oil imports? You see, this is what happens when you
eliminate federal regulatory price controls. There should be a law
that half of their profits go directly into funding alternative fuels
that they can market upon development and mass production. Then, at
least, they aren’t rolling in jewels and platinum Jacuzzis and
filling up offshore accounts with the loot.
Alberto
Gonzales, another Texan, was lying and ducking his way through a Q
& A with the judiciary committee and Arlen Specter let him testify
without being sworn in. AG has six planets in Leo with four of them
square Saturn, so his life has always be based on fear and threats
as well as having a pompous arrogant attitude that sees everyone else
as inferior. His Sun conjoins Jupiter, Mercury and Mars, all within
4 degrees. Since he’s already on the Political Dartboard, I’ll
examine his current transits and progressions. As Saturn passes through
Leo, he’s undergoing greater scrutiny, even though he believes
he and his friend George are above the law and can decide what laws
need to be written so he can do what he wants without bothering to
get approval. This is a more frightful AG than Ashcroft, who could
at least sing. This is not the kind of singing I had in mind for AG
and I am reminded of the one-note samba. Mercury square Saturn makes
him unable to say much of anything and here I always thought you couldn’t
shut lawyers up! Many of his Leo planets are very close to Bush’s
Mercury/Pluto conjunction on his ASC, so they may have been brothers
or corrupt business partners in a past life. As his South Node is
in Gemini in the 8th house, he’s been a duplicitous double dealer
playing fast and loose with money and values for a lot of incarnations.
How insane is he when he states that Washington, Lincoln, Wilson and
FDR all used electronic surveillance? Was Ben Franklin flying the
kite to get the electricity for the Internets? They didn’t even
have the telegraph until 1844! What could Washington have done with
better intelligence? Excuse me? Alberto is just a little crazier than
I ever thought! He certainly shouldn’t be head of the Justice
Department with all the criminals around Washington. Once again, the
fox is guarding the henhouse as AG covers for his boss who gets away
with grand larceny, murder, illegal espionage, treason, violating
the constitution in numerous ways and lying to the American people
constantly and consistently.
I’m
doing whatever I need to in order to protect the American people…except
actually do anything.
The
Italians are a bit nervous about security with the whole world invited
to attend the games in Turin. With the Olympics just beginning this
week, we can tell that sports have become a way of life for many people
to the point that their wardrobe is made up of mostly national or
professional team sports outfits. It’s one thing when you go
to a game when they are playing because displaying your team’s
colors is a way of identifying you with a particular fan club, group,
team or army. By the way, congratulations to the Steelers, who play
in my home state, PA. Hines Ward was the MVP and although his name
is spelled differently, I think the references to relish might hang
around for a while. I wonder if they’ll use 57 varieties or
ketchup references. I have to work my way out of a pickle and segue
onto another subject.
In
the nature awareness news, it seems we have a new tropical wonderland
with species that have never been seen by Westerners in New Guinea.
I’m sure National Geographic will do a spread on the place,
as pictures have begun to be published in newspapers this week. It’s
only a matter of time before we see the last paradise disappear. Canada
is opening up a 4.4 million acre national wildlife park called Great
Bear Rainforest. It’s on the west coast in the province of British
Columbia just north of Washington and south of Alaska. It’s
not exactly tropical but could become temperate in the coming centuries.
They’ve extended the protected area out much further, perhaps
10 million acres, so that no environmental exploitation will destroy
that environment. Aquarius is about the future and they are thinking
about it, ey? Hmm, the way Canada is progressing, I wonder if global
warming will make it the next best place to live after the US, which
is dropping in the “most livable countries” list. A hundred
years ago, the west wasn’t being destroyed by pollution and
American factories were making much of what we needed. We were the
emerging Super Power in the 20th Century and had to defeat the Kaiser,
fascism, Nazism, imperialism, Communism and now terrorism. We haven’t
defeated all those other forms of totalitarianism completely, since
there are always pockets of extremists who want to dominate the world.
Well, I doubt seriously that a Kaiser will ever be a threat unless
it’s the Kaiser roll and you’re wheat allergic. Globalization
is another form of control from the corporate world and is a form
of fascism, which plays well alongside the Bush program. War is unhealthy
for nature and other living things.
There
are a few places in the world that haven’t been destroyed by
human exploitation or occupation but every year that global warming
is allowed to continue to expand, the shorter our habitation of this
world will be possible. The problem is that every time we find out
about some unspoiled place it becomes the next hot place to go and
visit, thus ruining it for eternity or at least as long as mankind
has a footprint there. Actually, we have made such a biologically
destructive impact on this planet that if the rest of the species
could rise up and revolt against us, they would. Why else would there
be an increase in shark attacks and bears mauling people? How many
other creatures have been driven from their habitats by human interlopers
and downright invasion? We have gone beyond stewardship and have taken
dominion over the Earth to a highly destructive place and it’s
time to reverse that and take stock of what we have done to the old
place. Trees need to be saved, like the Pines of Rome.
<Pines of Rome, Villa Borghese>
Changing
the face of the Earth is a major thing but changing how people dress
to go to work is almost as hard as moving mountains. Cracking down
with a limiting dress code is San Bernardino County and they won’t
allow tattoos to be shown on their employees. I guess it makes the
statement that they don’t want any real individuals working
like robots for them. While I believe certain positions require a
certain modesty and conformity to their general appearance for identification
purposes, it seems that if you aren’t putting people in uniforms,
you should give them more leeway in their dress. As for tattoos, if
you hire people who already have them, you can’t expect them
to have them removed. So if you have a tattoo on your face, you might
be fired for not covering it up, even though you might not be able
to.
In
the More Crazy Shit Department, gang violence is on the rise in jails
and prisons, where segregation seems to help in some cases. In other
situations, it’s worse to mix rival gangs of the same race.
Aquarius is about groups and associations, which would include gangs.
The skinheads have increased their activity because I suppose they
have more meth than heroine but they take their anger out on Jews,
blacks, Latinos, gay, bisexuals, lesbians and transgender people.
One thing about that demographic is that all but the Blacks and Latinos
are rather weak and defenseless, therefore I would recommend self-defense
classes and martial arts training. As far as bringing it back into
balance, send these gang members into Iraq or Afghanistan and have
them take out their anger on the insurgents. Maybe you can take local
gangs of different colors and pit them against each other here and
hope they kill each other off.
In
another case of the Stupid Famous People lame excuses, Britney Spears
said she had driven with her baby on her lap in her SUV because she
was afraid of the paparazzi doing harm to him. If they are looked
inside an SUV, what the hell is she talking about? I know that boy
is going to be seriously screwed up since she has had a skewed view
of reality for a long time going all the way back to her Mickey Mouse
Club days.
Passing
from this world to the next this week…Betty Friedan, the visionary
feminist who wrote The Feminine Mystique, a book my mother read in
the 60’s. Coretta Scott King’s funeral was amazing, from
what I’m told. There were plenty of digs at Bush and lots of
comments about what’s going on. Clinton was the most popular
speaker and got an almost unending applause.

11 Sheryl Crow has just broken up with Lance Armstrong, All-American
Bike Hero, because she has 6 planets in Aquarius and he has 4 in Virgo.
Beyond that, her Venus in Aquarius opposite Uranus square Moon in
Taurus on the ASC makes for a difficult issue with relationships and
intimacy in general. Their composite Sun conjoins Venus, a reason
it lasted as long as it did but as soon as he retired and began to
be around all the time, well, the Aquarius lost her independence and
the Virgo found too many things to criticize. Venus squares Uranus
and Pluto, so no wonder!
Jennifer
Anniston has been in the news so much in the past few years that I
have already done several looks at her chart and that would be in
the archives.
Jeb
Bush is the brother of the president and governor of Florida, so his
loyalties are split, in some respects. Sure he wants to be his own
person, but all of his personal planets and Jupiter are on the right
side of the chart, showing that other people have a stronger influence
over him than he has over himself, especially with insecure, self-critical
Virgo rising, thus a servant of more powerful interests. Let’s
see, Sun opposite Pluto, so is always attracted to wealthy and corrupt
people. Well, the sad and obvious testament is that it is pervasive
in politics and not only in this country. Pluto in Sag has made widespread
destruction more extremist-driven but I digress from the governor’s
analysis. His Capricorn Moon is square Saturn/Neptune in Libra and
though he will deny it, his power comes because he has subjugated
himself to higher powers and I’m not talking about God and Jesus,
no matter what this hypo-Christian may profess. His Venus and Mars
in Aries conjoin in the 7th, a similarity with Hitler, who also had
Moon in Capricorn. Barbara Bush also has Moon in Cap conjunct Jupiter,
just like Adolf. Jeb has Sun and Mercury at zero Pisces trine Saturn
and Neptune, so he easily uses deception, manipulation and other ploys
to work the agenda for the cabal or the consortium of poly-corporate,
politically powerful puppet-masters. Mercury is the ruler of the chart
and the MC and in the 6th and in Pisces, service and sacrifice, as
well as health, so I believe his lungs will be the cause of a serious
illness. His Venus is square Uranus, so has issues with intimacy and
has no love for the people in general. Mars in the 7th could even
make for spousal abuse, either partner being the aggressor. Jupiter
in Taurus in the 8th house square the nodes makes for a significant
issue with money taken from other people as an opportunistic means
of financing his own home, which is beyond the means of a governor’s
income, I would expect. He has illegally diverted funds for the state
into his estate, I am suggesting based on the astrological evidence.
I also believe he will get caught by the end of the year, when Saturn
opposes his Sun and turns stationary within two degrees of exact and
on his Pluto within 3.

Abe Lincoln certainly had some issues and I could also look at the
death chart with forensic astrology, but we already know who shot
him and with what and that it was part of a conspiracy, as most presidential
assassinations must surely be. Lincoln was a double Aquarius with
Moon in Capricorn in the 12th, a sign of depression and a sacrificial
sense of duty, wherein he was committed to the betterment of all humanity,
as the idealistic Aquarian he was. He had a deep and profound faith
that he felt it unnecessary to parade it in front of anyone. Uranus
was on his North Node at birth, an aspect our current president has,
a symbol of change that affects humanity. Lincoln changed the economy
of the South forever by abolishing slavery and changed the face of
the country because of things that happened during the Civil War.
At the time of his murder, Saturn was on his Libra Mars, so powerful
people wanted him killed. It was also square to his Moon, exactly,
which could well be considered a death aspect. Transit Mars was in
his 5th, square his Venus and transit Neptune was on it, hence his
death was in a theater during a play. Mars is the gun, Neptune is
the theater and Venus was Mary at Abe’s side. The transiting
Sun as well as the minor Sun on his South Node shows the life drain
out of him. Natal Mercury conjunct Pluto square Neptune/Saturn near
his MC that gave him a deep sense of impending doom and an obsession
with death is likely. It made him quiet and introspective, pondering
deeper issues than most ever consider. At his death, minor Uranus
was exactly square his ASC, showing the suddenness and the radical
rebel group involved. Progressed Venus opposite Saturn shows the lack
of respect he had from many separatists. His progressed Sun closely
opposed progressed Mars in Libra, also showing the assailant as a
handsome Southerner. Progressed Moon was nearing his Sun in the 12th
and he must have had a premonition of his death because his minor
Moon was also conjunct Pluto, as well. Transit Pluto had been opposed
to his Uranus since his election, so the plot to kill him had been
brewing almost since he was sworn in, I would speculate. Minor Saturn
was exactly square his progressed Sun and if you use a maximum orb
for the Sun, in the natal chart it squares Saturn, too. Minor Venus
opposed natal Mars, so things weren’t so hot in the bedroom,
I take it because Mary was moping about something or other, perhaps
and want to go out to the theater. Progressed Mars square minor Saturn
would certainly stop sexual desires, anyway, along with some other
power plays I can think of. I suppose I could still do a deep analysis
of his natal chart but some other time, perhaps. I’m just so
obsessed with this new Forensic Astrology book I’m reading,
so it’s fascinating to look into the astrological reasons people
die or are killed. I’m just an 8th house kind of guy.
Arlen
Specter is in the spotlight a lot as the chairman of the judiciary
committee especially since they are extremely busy these days. He’s
a cancer survivor and has been around the political world for over
four decades, as I remember him in his D.A. days in Philadelphia.
A moderate pro-choice Republican, he nevertheless galls me regarding
his unwillingness to stand against Bush.

Chuck Yeager is the first test pilot to break the sound barrier and
went on to set speed records. He should have been in the Mercury program
to go into space, but he trained all the astronauts in his school.
The Right Stuff was the movie and might explain a few things about
the type of man he was. Jupiter trine Uranus is great for an aviator
because you have to be lucky and knowledgeable. Sun trine Saturn is
the discipline and respect for superior officers you have to have.
Mars in Aries trine Neptune in Leo gives one a flowing feel for combat
and high speeds.

Peter
Gabriel was born the same year as Mark Spitz, whom I did last week.
In Gabriel’s case, he’s got Moon in Cap square Mars and
Neptune in Libra, leading to depression and drugs or alcohol. Saturn
square Chiron shows a wounded father who may have had a profound negative
effect on him. His Sun/Jupiter make him positive and open to international
rhythms and concepts.

Jimmy Hoffa was the Teamsters boss who might be buried under the Meadowlands
in New Jersey. His Sun/Mercury squared his Moon/Saturn exact conjunction
in Taurus, so he felt he needed to be the boss to control the money
and they trine Mars/Uranus for the muscle of the large organization.
Jupiter in Capricorn in the 11th is what makes for a union organizer
and popular guy amongst the rank and file. But Venus square Jupiter
indicates greed and excess, wanting more and more of the pie without
wanting to share. My suspicion is that he’s deep down in an
oil well in New Jersey because he has Pluto in the 4th house and it
had to have been done by the mafia.

Galileo was considered to be the greatest astronomer and celestial
theorist of his day and he may well have been. His chart is relatively
simple, however and the most significant aspect is his T-Cross of
the Pisces Sun square Uranus opposite Neptune. It’s funny that
they hadn’t even been discovered then and yet, they represent
the very struggle of science versus religion that he fought most of
his life. Of course he was in the thick of it because he blew out
the concept of the Earth being the center of the universe by stating
that the Sun is the center of the Solar System. His Mercury/Pluto
in Pisces are similar to Lincoln but he also has Venus there, too.
Moon in Aries square Saturn in Cancer made him restrain himself for
fear of imprisonment and excommunication, which almost happened, as
he was under house arrest for much of his later years.
John Adams, JB, Harvey Korman

Kim Jong Il is the crazy or insane dictator in the North Korea and
has too many nuclear weapons for anyone’s taste. Oh dear, no
wonder he’s so volatile…his Mercury retrograde is square
Mars in Taurus, which conjoins his Saturn. It makes for an angry and
confrontational speaker as well as arguments about everything. But
worse is his Sun square Uranus and Saturn, making him a very unstable
and fearful freak. Moon in Pisces near the South Node square Jupiter
in Gemini causes him to exaggerate his emotions beyond any reason
or rationale, since he’s not connected to the real world very
well. Retrograde Venus in Aquarius opposite Pluto attracts him to
powerful but corrupt people, hence the Chinese are still doing business
with him in some ways. His country is starving and his people are
dying to leave or dying as they try to leave.

Paris Hilton was involved in an altercation with her prospective boyfriend’s
guide and handler. She is rather loony and maybe even more than a
little stupid, since she has Mercury retrograde in Aquarius closely
conjunct the Sun and they square Uranus, hence the ditzy blonde routine.
All of her relationships will fail with Moon in Leo opposite Venus
square to Chiron, since she’ll only pick wounded souls that
reflect her own pettiness. Her Sun has progressed into a square with
Neptune right as her progressed Moon is moving through her 12th house,
so drugs, alcohol and escapist behavior are strong with her now. Her
minor Mars is on her Venus and it’s that anger towards others
she can’t understand. Her minor Venus is square Pluto, so there
are some deep psychological issues why she has all this rage and venom
toward others. It could be something other than her being a spoiled
bitch with an arrogant and egotistical Leo Moon/ASC but I haven’t
figured it all out yet as I haven’t given her that much thought.
Oops, I sound like Bush again.

Richards, Jason Ritter
I want to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day and Lincoln’s
Birthday and Full Moon and next week, we’ll take a look at Washington.
As for my closing Aquarian theme, I want you to think about a socialist
democracy that uses a fair meritocracy to advance careers. The workers
need to take control instead of bowing down to the corporate stooge
who cares nothing of your plight because they haven’t been there.
People are drawn to fields in which they naturally fit and feel comfortable.
Remember that a Full Moon in Leo can be very competitive and very
passionate, even romantic. Take pride in what you are and what you
express and do whatever you do the very best you are able. As for
the Water Bearer, he’s paving the way with knowledge and is
baptizing the prophet with the waters of life. Someone has to fill
the lake so the fish can swim, so you must prepare the way of life
and light. Electricity turned on the lights and the Aquarian Genius
awakened to the future to enlighten humanity.

The Sun enters Pisces today and it’s time to understand all
the secrets of life and the hidden meaning underneath it all. You
have many manifestations of every sign, not all of them good or bad,
so be careful how you judge a person by their sign. Let them at least
give you just cause to label them as typical of their sign. As for
the sign of the fishes swimming in opposite directions, you never
know which way they may go. It may be a matter of the way of the flow.
You have to believe if you want to receive the power of love from
up above. Actually, that’s not the way it works and it might
not be easy to explain anyway and what I might say today may not be
how I see it a year from now. If you understand that you are a collection
of experiences and memories that have a karmic reason for expressing
yourself the way you do, then you are on your way to grasping how
life can be so complicated. We’re all connected at the highest
level of consciousness as we’re part of one body that we call
God. If only religions didn’t force the separation story so
much.
When
reading the papers this week, it struck me how much I wanted to not
be reading what I was reading, as so much of it involved bad news
about people far away doing things I’d rather not hear about
considering how little their events affect me directly. Then I realized
that it is the very way they get you to not look at the things that
affect everyone because someone in the president’s office of
communications is directed to steer the topics away from the truth
or things that really matter. Truth is a real boondoggle for them
because they would have to admit a lot of things that they know they
did wrong or lies they knew were lies. It’s not right for so
few to destroy the lives of so many with so little thought. All the
more reason to convict Karl Rove now!
Avoidance
of reality is a very Piscean concept as it the sign that governs the
following, among other things; illusion, fantasy, imagination, understanding,
compassion, psychics, poetry, music, theatre, movies, art, spirituality,
belief, faith, sleep, dreams, institutions, escapism, as in drugs
and alcohol, and as such, addiction and substance abuse. Many of these
people have a hard time with day-to-day existence without some form
of crutch to help them through the night. It’s interesting how
close in their spelling are crutch and church, just one letter different,
yet so much the same, since religion requires dependence on blind
faith in their tenets. They teach you to parrot their teachings and
not to question the Holy Father or whatever passage in the bible they
are selling you on at the time. The gospel is the unalterable word
of God, which is the farthest thing from the truth. They are a collection,
and not the entire collection of writings of the life, death and the
aftermath of the Jesus period. The present day preachers don’t
emulate what Jesus preached and what we have is these evangelicals
trying to force their misguided teachings onto everyone else. Spirituality
is all-inclusive since there is room for everyone in God’s universe.
There is a new breed of environmentally aware Christians that I heard
about on the Al Franken Show, so maybe there is hope. Jesus would
say, thou shalt not destroy the land that gives thee sustenance.
Pisces
is the sign of spirituality and on the dark side, religion. To dream
is to seek redemption through non-attachment, surrender and transcendence,
which leads to the sacrifice of the physical body to embrace the unlimited
power of the spirit body. This is what Jesus was trying to teach that
has been obfuscated by the Church for fear of losing their captive
audience. Religion has always been about controlling people whereas
spirituality is always been the liberation of the soul in an everlasting
universe where you are free to choose your path. It’s sad that
theologians have narrowed their thinking to exclude what other civilizations
know to be true and that Jesus even taught but has been obscured;
that reincarnation is a fact of life’s evolutionary process
and we have to create the life we wish to live by our choices of gender,
body, parents and circumstances we desire to experience. Life is a
flow, like a river and it will take you where it wants to or you can
navigate it to take you where you want to go. It’s easier when
you have a map and that’s where astrology comes in handy and
next week, I’ll examine the Jesus chart.
Mercury
is approaching the square to Pluto that it will engage with for two
weeks while it goes retrograde to bug us for most of the month of
March. This is obsessing about or investigating the lies and the cover-ups
going on, as well as the unmasking of the dirty dozen or so who have
hijacked our country. The rest are just followers with little more
than a bleating herd mentality. Mercury is information and Pluto is
exposure and the square and retrograde makes it come out in ways that
aren’t very pleasant. When someone is fighting for power, their
moral high ground crumbles and you discover how crass and petty they
really are. Mercury in Pisces retrograde acts like Virgo energy and
Pluto is the investigation into the plans to go into war, the plans
to out a CIA agent and the plans to take over the government, which
will come out in the next couple of years, I am betting.
In
the last weeks of Aquarius, there seemed to be a lot of air traffic
accidents, both of which are Aquarius manifestations. One plane crashed
into a house and killed three people. Not exactly The World According
to Garp with that story, since three people died in the crash and
it caused a lot of damage. The point is that the energy of the cosmos
has deemed that Aquarius is about electronics and that could be another
reason my server was offline for almost two weeks. I have been trying
to access the net and get only some stuff, not the whole thing. So
a lot of this crazy shit has happened during Aquarius, a sign known
for that and it’s a foreshadowing of the coming Mercury retrograde.
Breakdowns in all forms of communication and transportation are likely
and you just have to deal with them as they crop up.
Making
a Day of Purity pledge, and remaining celibate until marriage is not
realistic or likely or smart, for that matter. What if you don’t
ever find the right marriage material in anyone? Teens have been brainwashed
into believing sex is a bad thing to experience out of wedlock. Hell,
that is usually the best kind! Love comes in many ways in our lives
and not often is the way of it going to lead to marriage. It’s
rare to meet a soulmate with whom you’ll want to spend the rest
of your life. You have to want to have a life of your own in order
to appreciate what it’s like not to have one. Most people don’t
know who they really are until their Saturn Return or for women, the
Lunar Return at 27, since they mature faster than men. If states would
institute starter marriages for those under 27, so they could co-inhabit
a house and create a home, they would decrease the divorce rate significantly
and then they’d have couples wait until they were settled and
secure in their relationship with each other to have kids. Know yourself,
know each other, then know a child. I’m a utopian idealist and
see things as they could be to help everyone evolve toward a better
state of being and at some point it should make a hell of a movie.
Relationships could be a whole lot easier if people were involved
with those of compatible signs. Rather ironic it is that they want
kids to plan for long term relationships while their acceleration
of the destruction of the Earth and the overuse of all its resources
continues unabated.
New
York City has a Snow Day but it happens on a weekend, so the kids
don’t get to stay home from school. Oh well, they really can’t
afford to miss class since we have to learn more math and science
to keep pace in this competitive world. It must have been the Full
Moon in Leo, giving New York and the Eastern Seaboard in general,
a solid dumping of the white stuff and I’m not referring to
coke or heroin. They got a chance to frolic in a winter wonderland
of snowmen and sledding, skiing and skating and snowboarding. Fine
if you didn’t have to live in for the first 18 years of your
life. Astro-meteorology would like to examine the Jupiter in the square
to the Full Moon as evidence of a massive storm system. I’m
sure some diligent young astrology student would like a little research
project and determine the two full moons in every year that had severe
storms and how close the squares were. Cross check that with the National
Weather Service and plot the moons. If it could be used to predict
coming super-storms, all the more reason to look into it. In The Philippines,
rain-soaked hills caused mudslides that have already killed hundreds
of people and the deaths could reach a couple thousand. This is another
manifestation of the Jupiter in Scorpio square Neptune, god of the
seas and the rains.
<Tempest prelude - Sibelius>
On
the subject of Global Warming, Greenland has three times as much ice
falling off into the ocean than it had 10 years ago, which points
to an acceleration of the rate of global warming and if we don’t
do something fast, it won’t make any difference because it will
become irreversible. In this country, the northern states are experiencing
a less severe winter than usual, which also creates problems for the
smaller springtime runoff feeding lakes and streams as well as reservoirs.
Glacial ice is one of the main ways our planet cools off and maintains
a balanced weather pattern, keeping us temperate and moist, stirring
up life forms that have a need of dynamic patterns for adaptation
and evolution. We may wish for the weather to be the same all the
time, but that’s not good for the living creatures on the face
of the Earth. We all have to experience a change in habitat from time
to time, just so we can appreciate what we like all the more. If you
grew up in Southern California and had never been raised in snow,
you can’t appreciate the difference. However, if this planet
heats up a few degrees, we’ll all be doomed, so we have to end
the reign of the fools on the hill who are running this country and
the world into the ground and into extinction.
You
have to fight for what you believe in, no matter what the ditto-heads
say, think or do, it only matters that what you believe is worth fighting
for. Conflicts happen and sometimes cover-ups about events cause more
of a flap than the actual event. I would prefer to be informed of
the facts to determine whether or not something is important. As it
happens, Mars has just entered Gemini, the sign of information and
is square the Sun, so people are trigger-happy and can’t resist
getting a shot off at the VP. Hunting and fishing make the front page
this week. Cheney hunts down his friend and shoots him. It’s
a shoot-first, duck-questions-later type of energy. Much later! Every
Tom, Dick and Harry seems to be in on this and there’s more
cover-up than coming forward. Cheney said, Harry, I’m sorry
I shot your face off but they have a new face transplant that can
make you look like one of those Twilight Zone people. Whittington
said, Dick, you’re an asshole. Everybody always told me you
were and they were damn right. He might have mentioned something about
Cheney needing more than a face transplant…he needed a personality
transplant. You might say that Harry was Dick’s Whittington
Cap. Fishing is going the way of the clean stream and the pollution-free
air and water. Their Newspeak phrases remind us how much everything
they say is a lie, like Clear Skies and Healthy Forests and No Child
Left Behind. No one wants to fish anymore as there are far faster
ways of having fun but what better way is there to waste a day and
maybe bring home dinner as well as meditate in nature than by fishing?
It
doesn’t seem fair that Cheney tries to duck the system in ways
that few other Americans can, since Duck Vader can’t seem to
shoot straight, a problem consistent with the Repub-lows. He’s
ducked jail time for drunk driving and military service and even got
kicked out of Yale. No one is above the law but if you can keep changing
the law to favor you, then maybe you can escape prosecution. There
have been far too many speculations about what happened and why but
it’s an exercise in futility. It really doesn’t matter,
since Harry walked out of the hospital in a whole enough condition
to satisfy people that he isn’t at death’s door. But then
he said he was sorry for what he put Cheney and his family through.
That’s just bizarre Repub-low rhetoric to help out a friend.
When Cheney was asked to describe his relationship with Harry, first
he said he’s an old friend, known him for 30 years but then
he said he was just an acquaintance. Cheney has Mars in Sag square
Moon in Pisces, so there’s the outdoors mixing with alcohol,
which is why he shot Harry in the face. Mars rules his Aries South
Node, so he’s always shot before he thinks or looks. I think
it was Cheney, with the Jack Daniels, shooting the lawyer, in the
caged bird hunt on the Repub-low ranch. With Neptune opposite the
Moon and Pluto opposed to the Sun, he always been drawn to corrupt
alcoholics, which fits right in with the Repub-low crowd. It’s
too bad Dan Quayle wasn’t there, because maybe Cheney would
have taken him out more proficiently.
Because
they don’t make millionaires pay their fair share of taxes,
Bush wants to sell off California forests to the highest bidder. Teddy
Roosevelt would roll over in his grave, or even jump out of it and
attack Bush over this issue. They say it’s to pay for rural
roads and schools that he’s failed to provide for anyway but
don’t believe their lies. They need to pay for the war effort
to keep it going, so they have to have this forest fire sale of prime
woodland in our green state. There are so many ways that this burns
me and so many other people that I can’t begin to express my
outrage. I can only say that this is another example of Newspeak in
action, when they talk about ‘healthy forests’ where they
have to sell off the land to pay for the war but promise to pay for
rural roads and schools. Sure, we can trust them, just like we have
for the last 5 years.
Robbing
us of our precious resources reminds me of Bush’s Virgo Mars
in the 2nd, wherein he doesn’t care about anything except the
military and the war effort. That’s his value system. Money
for death and destruction, unleashing the dogs of war. It’s
what he likes but it will cause him to suffer a tarnished reputation
and possibly imprisonment, where even his daddy can’t get him
out. I’m hoping for this, of course. He used up all his get
out of jail free cards, I believe. Pisces themes are observed in the
charts of the president and the vice president, as Bush has the Sun
in the 12th square Neptune with Saturn also in the 12th and Cheney
has Moon in Pisces opposite Neptune, so also has strong deceptive
tendencies. With their constant evocation of 9-11, they try to stimulate
the imagination of the listener and remind them of the sacrifice that
the dead people made as well as strike fear into their hearts. Yet
they never asked the living to make sacrifices, especially not their
rich friends who have gotten more money for just being rich, while
those at the bottom of the economic ladder get less in what they refer
to as entitlements. Why, that’s what they think the tax cuts
are.
Republicans
in a House select committee are examining what went wrong in the Katrina
aftermath and even during the approach. There were warnings that went
unheeded. They call it a Failure of Initiative and point the fingers
all up and down the chain of command, as everyone seems to have dropped
the ball on this one. There are so many people to blame that they
should spend a little time figuring out what went right, if anything.
I know that my wife and her dog rescue operation went there to save
as many stranded and starving dogs as they could. That could have
been considered a successful operation, although they ran into problems,
as well. Well, here it is five and half months later and they still
don’t have a whole lot of progress in the city of New Orleans.
It’s sad that such a rich tradition has to be swept away by
a corrupt and failure-ridden government. This and the Iraq war stamp
this administration as the worst in history. This war is several steps
backwards in our global advancement program. The war at home will
be more devastating for those who seek political office as a conservative
Republican. They have let down the people and to think their efforts
these days are doing something is too little, too late. They can’t
fix what they broke deliberately.
Also
there are lawmakers who are questioning the effectiveness of the NSA
domestic spying program because it hasn’t yielded any results!
Why spend billions on a failed program? Oh yeah, Iraq is another one
of those massive money eaters, as is the war on drugs. These are all
net losses in expenditures and result in lost prestige and respect
on the world stage. The way things are going, we’ll be so deep
in debt by the time this president’s term is over that the entire
surplus of the rest of the world wouldn’t be able to bail us
out in the short term. We would have to shift the balance of trade
so much to the export side that trading partners would call for boycotts
of American goods…but we don’t make much of anything anymore.
What we were good at has been sabotaged by special interests to drain
our oil reserves, as the new American cars are more of the same gas-guzzlers
they’ve been for a while, despite SUV sales being down. At least
they have a few hybrid SUV’s out now but they have to increase
overall mileage in every gas engine and they won’t do it. Lobbyists
for the oil industry are working inside the White House, even in the
Oval Office itself, since there aren’t many families more ensconced
in the oil business than the Bush family. This is why he helps his
friends to the biggest windfall profits in the history of business.
I think the oil companies made enough money to buy every pro sports
franchise in America with plenty left over to pay for parking and
snacks.
Torture
of prisoners is still widespread and the Neo Cons are like the American
Taliban. I had been wondering for a long time just who was behind
the Shadow Government they had been talking about since the 60’s.
The Shadow Government has had the light shed upon it and the darkness
shall wither up as long as there is a scrutinizing eye upon them.
From the earliest days, there have been Bushes involved in the dark
secret side of political gamesmanship, as when Prescott Bush got Nixon
to do his bidding in exchange for being made Vice President. In some
ways I wonder what a different world it would have been if Nixon beat
JFK in 60 but Kennedy came back in 64 to take it away from him. I
just bought a book called What If? It speculates how history would
have been altered by one person or event going in the opposite direction
as it did. The writers are historians and each takes a different event
in history, such as Alexander the not so great who doesn’t go
out to conquer the world. I have always wondered what if the Spanish,
English and others had never come west and never conquered the New
World. Would an Indian Nation have formed to create a trade union
and government in the face of global economics? Where would the concept
of freedom be born if not here? Of course, the natives were all free
and lived free in nature and one in the spirit. It was a lifestyle
to be enjoyed and not destroyed. But guilty religious fanatics came
to instill the fear of God in a healthy nature-lover. It didn’t
go well, as I am sad to tell.

Olympic gold won by Virgo Shaun White, the Flying Tomato in the halfpipe
and Dan Hedrick, double Aries, skating in the 5000. Hannah Teter,
Aquarius, Moon in Cap and Mars in Aries won gold in the women’s
halfpipe. Ted Ligety won the Men’s Combined and he’s a
Virgo with Mars/Uranus in Sag square his Sun and Moon/Saturn in Scorpio,
so he’s intense with some wild and crazy energy but with Mercury
retrograde in Virgo, I think he wanted to do this from his previous
life and laid it all out for himself. Seth Wescott is a double Cancer
with his Sun/Venus trine Uranus and Mars in Leo square Jupiter in
Taurus for the nature-loving risk-taker who loves his family and home.
Drugs
being re-imported in the US were seized because they offer competition
to the pharmaceutical companies that pay lobbyists to pressure congressmen
to pass laws against cheaper drugs. This government acts like the
mafia, who don’t like competition in the neighborhood, especially
when it comes to protecting the huge profits of their very good friends,
the pharmies. There is such an incredible marketplace of sick people
who will give up food to buy drugs to stay alive to pay for more drugs.
I won’t live like that, although it happens on the streets all
the time in skid rows everywhere. Little communities of junkies who
can’t afford to deal with life the way they have it rigged for
the educated and well bred. Old people aren’t all crazy if they
are healthy and keep their minds and bodies focused and active. It’s
sad when people lose their way and fall into the rapid currents taking
them downstream to a murky place of slimy filth and polluted wastelands.
Poverty and homelessness are an increasing problem in the Bush-world
reality and it will continue to get worse as the bankruptcy laws take
effect and more people can’t keep above water. Suicides increase,
drug and alcohol deaths swell, burglaries, robberies and murders increase,
as folks are more desperate and resources are scarcer. The 30’s
were an example of a time when the very rich were contrasted with
the very poor, some made so by forces of nature, as the dust bowl
in the Midwest caused massive crop failures and livestock deaths.
The
30’s were also the dawn of the motion picture era with a rapid
advancement from silent films in the 20’s to black and white
talkies to color film by the end of the 30’s. A grand new era
began with films like Robin Hood and Gone With the Wind. But I digress
because it’s time for this week’s…

– Matt Dillion has been nominated for an Academy Award for his
work in Crash. He should be feeling pretty good now and may even win.
But that’s not the issue here. Let me explain his chart. He
can play arrogant, self-centered, cold-hearted pricks because he has
a Sun/Mars/Saturn stellium in Aquarius in the 1st house. His Moon
in Taurus is a sensual manifestation of tactile pleasures; so if it
looks good, touch it. Mercury in Aquarius on his ASC square Neptune
makes it hard for him to think in terms of boundaries. But it’s
his Aries Venus in the square to the nodes that has to be the real
problem, as it would make a committed relationship a difficult thing
to have. Venus is close to but not conjoining Jupiter, so he hasn’t
had all that much great success as a leading man of any sort, since
he’s never been married at 42. Venus inconjunct Uranus also
shows some issues with intimacy and commitment. Mercury square Neptune
could be a problem with smoking of any type. Not that it should be
dangerous, but with Chiron in Pisces and Hygeia in Taurus, drugs would
be a problem and he might have health issues with his throat, neck
or nasal passages. Moon trine Uranus indicates he needs to cultivate
friends and hang out with the cool people. He used to do that when
he was younger…I wonder if he still does. Later on this year,
Saturn will oppose his Saturn/Mars/Sun stellium and Jupiter will square
it, causing some problems and stopping him from working or putting
him in limited circumstances.

– Bencio del Toro has a lot of subtext in his face that indicates
only a small portion of what he must been through. His Moon in Gemini
squares the opposition of Uranus/Pluto in Virgo to Mercury and Venus
in Pisces, although Saturn opposes Uranus, too. Neptune in Scorpio
is tied into all of this, along with its trine to Jupiter in Cancer
to Venus/Saturn to form a grand trine and a kite pattern and send
him flying on an incredible ride. His Sun is right exactly on the
cusp, so it all depends on what time he’s born. Anytime after
4:11 AM makes him a Pisces, so it’s most likely that he’s
been swimming in the sea of life. His Mars in Scorpio near his South
Node is in a trine to his Sun, so he often comes across or is cast
as a bad guy. His dark look comes from that Scorpio energy but he’s
got a sense of redemption with his four planets in Pisces. Mercury
opposite Uranus and Pluto make for an uncommon inquisitiveness and
an investigative approach to dealing with people, especially considering
Venus is also in that opposition. Moon in Gemini square Mercury in
Pisces…oh, wait a minute…LINE! Sorry, let me get in character.
And now…action! Memory! That’s what that’s all about!
As in not being the best. But wait. Mercury is in the Cancer decan
of Pisces, so he does have a fair memory faculty.

– Patty Hearst was kidnapped and brainwashed by the SLA to rob
a bank in order to protest her father’s involvement in a lot
of bad things. Even to this day there are cover-ups and refusal to
comment on this affair. She says she was brainwashed and there is
astrological evidence that she might be telling some potion of the
truth. There is the Stockholm Syndrome that causes people to identify
with the abductor. Her Venus and Mercury retrograde in Pisces in the
7th made her very gullible and she was still only 19 when she was
taken to be a pawn in a political protest over publication of the
truth. Or was that ever it? Her Uranus on the South Node in the 11th
house might have a connection to revolutionary groups from previous
lives. Jupiter in Gemini in the 10th describes her father as the publisher
of a large newspaper, or publishing group. Her Mercury square to it
might be her philosophical disagreement with him over many issues.
Her Saturn trine her Sun and Venus leads me to think that they actually
had a decent relationship, despite all that conflict. Mars in Sag
squares her Sun and Venus, so she would do rash and poorly planned
actions that had negative consequences that affected her and her partners.
Neptune squares her Chiron in Cap and Uranus opposing it and the nodes
on which they sit. This may have something to do with her kidnapping
and hypnosis, as she could easily be seen as a victim in her chart.
She was swayed into doing things she wouldn’t have done otherwise,
so I believe she was under someone else’s power. The CIA did
it to assassins, you know, as in the Manchurian Candidate.

– Olympia Snowe is a senator from Maine who says she’s
a moderate but has voted too often on the Bush side of the ledger
on important issues. She’s got the Moon on her Sun and a Cancer
rising, I think. I know she drank some of the Kool-Aid since she’s
been intimidated by those in power, as indicated by her Sun inconjunct
Saturn and Moon inconjunct Pluto. Her Mercury in Pisces square Uranus
is why she’s able to make shit up on the fly but it might also
be that she’s been fooled into thinking that that’s what
she should be thinking. With Moon inconjunct Neptune, she’s
been fooled before and will be again. Her nodes are the same as Bush,
even the same houses, so I think she’s too lacking in good judgment
and unable to see the bigger picture, nor recognize truth when she
hears or sees it. Mars square Jupiter can cause her to go overboard
and try to do too much but it can also be fighting against the truth
on matters of principle, since she might be financially gaining from
her chosen agenda. Her Venus aspects are weak and difficult to trust
as she has Venus exactly quincunx Uranus, so radical nut jobs are
affecting her sense of balance and harmony. It also means she needs
to select a better class of associates. Venus also makes a wide square
to Neptune attracting deceptive, elusive con artists and double dealing
pirates of this political planet. She will be up for re-election this
year and if we could maybe have a strong Democrat in Maine, we’d
be that much closer to re-taking the Senate. Maybe Seth Wescott is
a Democrat.

– George Washington was indeed a man ahead of his time. According
to our esteemed and knowledgeable AG, it seems Washington was not
only “First in War, first in peace, first in the hearts of his
countrymen”, he was also first to use electronic surveillance
to prevent our enemies from having strategic advantage over us. Old
George was a very bright man and cultured in many of the arts and
sciences of his day and was known for his dancing ability. Mercury
in Aquarius trine Neptune gives good intuition and musical understanding
and Mercury sextile Saturn gives the strategic sensibility to plan
an attack or advance to the rear. Mercury trine Jupiter made him a
visionary speaker and leader, able to get the message across for the
greater good. But I believe AG is mistaken regarding his use of anything
electronic. Venus in Pisces conjunct Saturn in Aries reveals his long
marriage to a powerful woman. Moon in Cap square Pluto has lot to
do with the transformation of the homeland and may even hint at the
problems with his teeth. They weren’t, by the way, made of wood.
His Scorpio Mars is trine Venus and sextile Moon, so women found him
charming, engaging and fascinating, although he wasn’t the big
flirt that Franklin was. Here’s one aspect pattern that contributed
to his political acumen; Jupiter in Libra sextile Uranus in Sag and
Jupiter trine Neptune in Gemini, opposite Uranus. He knew some people
would feel disenfranchised the way the government was structured,
but there was little to be done about it due to the circumstances
of his day. Neptune trine Pluto shows his deep inspirational influence
over his men in battle and the men of congress, as well as the people
of this land.

– Peter Fonda has always been special to me since I saw Easy
Rider back in ’69. His father and sister shared the acting gene
but Peter has been less diligent about working, although always excellent
when on camera. While his Sun sits on the MC, his Saturn and Venus
straddle the South Node in Aries, so he never really had the ambition
or desire for the fame and recognition, having no need for the extra
money in an already wealthy family. The Moon in Virgo made him very
picky about his choice of roles and Ulee’s Gold, about a beekeeper,
was a particularly strong performance. Mercury opposite Neptune could
lead him into writing some stories for movies and it gives an interest
in things spiritual and mystical, although there might be some caution
early on. When you have Saturn on the South Node, you could be called
an underachiever and as fate would have it, while I wrote that thought,
a friend with the same aspect called me.

– Joe Lieberman is the Jewish Senator from CT who should have
been Vice President for the last five years, but for the insanity
of Florida in 2000. I’m concerned about him, as a Democrat,
that he really isn’t one. He’s a Repub-low in Dem-disguise.
A Dempublicrat. His Moon/Jupiter in Gemini is close to Bush’s
Uranus, with the Moon right on it, if the time I have is correct and
I think it’s from when he was a candidate and they had all the
charts in the Mountain Astrologer. Anyway, he’s got the Sun
near the South Node in Pisces in the 3rd, so he’s trapped by
old school religious patterning from the Old Testament and can’t
really shake it. His Mars/Saturn/Uranus in Taurus in the 6th is his
dogged determination to be of service financially to the people who
work hard and have nothing left, which would be everyone but the top
15%. Mercury/Venus in Aquarius trine Moon/Jupiter make him a good
speaker, debater and idea man although his Mercury lags rather far
behind the Sun and makes him less progressive than many others. For
example, Paul Wellstone had Mercury as far ahead of the Sun as it
could get, practically and he was the most liberal of all the Senate.
With Neptune on the MC and Pluto in the 8th, inconjunct his Sun, I
would think he has some secrets he’d prefer to keep that way.
Where does his money come from? Venus opposite Pluto will attract
the big illegal funding for his political campaigns. Someone will
pick up the tab but Lieberman will know the house always wins. I think
he’s ethically challenged, what do you think? Not ethnically,
although some would disagree. Let me know, America…what do you
think?

the way, we have found out that Chris Penn, who recently died, had
a heart problem that caused his demise. I’ll take a look next
week, as heart disease is a major problem in this country.

themes, drugs and spirituality seem to contradict each other since
if you’re high on God, why should you need drugs. Yet there
are drugs and there are pharmacological remedies from nature that
have a beneficial medical effect without harmful side effects. Religion
is a drug for many people because they are addicted to the loss of
identity and empowerment that their intellectual sacrifice leads them
to. They give up their ability to claim responsibility for their achievements
and accept that a deity makes them do anything. It’s uncanny
that in the age of information, anyone would want to choose to live
in ignorance. Yet, so many blind and stupid people get their news
exclusively from Fox that it makes you want to puke. They have pre-formed
ideas that are validated and reinforced to the point of ideological
zealotry, that they can’t have a rational discussion based on
the truth. When you stick your head in the sand long enough, the world
that you avoided becomes frighteningly disorienting. Quite a contrast
it is with Air America and other voices crying in the wilderness.
Ultimately, you have to come to the table yourself and pick up your
own plate, placing your own dinner on it. Sorry, the Moon in Scorpio
in my 4th house might lead me to feel some hunger. Put another way,
we all have to take control of our own dreams and find the ones worthy
of pursuing. Only by believing in yourself can you make your dreams
come true. It’s by becoming who and what you were meant to be
as indicated by your chart. You’ve always known who you were
but you have to be reminded now and then, which is why astrology comes
in so handy. Happy President’s Day and remember, my birthday
is next weekend, so let’s celebrate and hope for a great year
for all of us. I know…it’s an impossible dream.
