After a full moon in Scorpio, I just have to discuss some of the topics related to the signs involved. You know Scorpio is considered the sex sign and it concerns many subjects that are considered taboo, deep, dark secret things…things people don’t like talking about. Taxes, for example are ruled by this sign. Death is another dark matter that goes undiscussed all too often. These are things people can not avoid. And sex is like that, yet so many people repress their desires which just makes it worse. Whoever interpreted from the bible that celibacy was the path of the pure way to God was tripping on some of the mushrooms he picked up out in the fields. There is no need to deny yourself pleasure as long as the life you lead is filled with love and light. Those religions that tell you that touching yourself is unclean wouldn’t know truth if it hit them in the face and knocked them into the 21st century. The patriarchal control freaks have always made up laws to control people but have refused to accept natural law. Religion is just one of those things. Every major religion was founded by a man who had his own personal issues with women. They want to convince you that they have the knowledge of God. They threaten those who don’t accept their way as sinners. It is better to refuse to accept their truth and admit that you’re just different from other people. All roads lead to Rome and you can find your way to God on your own path. Not everyone needs a shepherd to lead one to what is more often slaughter of the spirit. Some of us see a better way of self-knowledge leading to enlightenment and God-consciousness through astrology. If we are all different parts of a grand, cosmic whole, then we each have a separate job and place in the big picture. Part of being alive on this planet is about diving into the intense experience of personal transformation, another aspect of Scorpio. The opposite sign, Taurus, is such a physical, sensual and loving energy and has a strong desire to possess, which keeps it attached to the material plane. Well, despite what Eastern Religions tell you, it’s not for you to just transcend the temptation and desire of the flesh. You are what you are but you don’t have to be addicted to it. We have problems today because we have forgotten almost all we’ve ever known. We carry around an unconscious repression of desire and rage, as we resent having our pleasures taken from us or being told it’s wrong. You can see in the sky Mars and Saturn nearing each other. What you don’t see is the returning opposition to Pluto it will be making. It’s another pointer to the sex abuse in the news. It is the extremes of religious and political viewpoints that has created the problems of the world. Pluto is on the South Node in Sagittarius and the ruler of that node is Jupiter, in an opposition to Chiron, showing the wounded nature of truth at this time. Who can you trust anymore? Your parents? Apart from the fact they have their own issues to deal with, there is usually a case of the sins of the fathers being visited upon your subsequent generation. It’s so easy to respond to conditioning rather than make tough personal choices. Certainly not your priest, as he is under investigation for sexual misconduct in several areas. That’s the problem with sexual repression: it comes out in very bad ways when it slips out. Restraint is different than repression and we could all show some restraint and that’s fine. But you can’t expect people living a lie of forced abstinence to be happy or healthy in a spiritual way. You can’t trust your elected officials to represent your positions on the issues if you don’t participate in the voting process. I think if Gore had gotten elected, we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in. Bush is a magnet for the old vendettas that his dad incurred. There’s also the case of them being endorsed and supported (read bought) by big business with agendas and who demand to be paid back for their help getting elected. When you use other people’s money, it’s often signed over in blood…your own! There are few people you can trust, with good reason. You should trust yourself first and then your astrologer, who sees you as you chose to become and can help you actualize that. You’re often a mystery to yourself, however and it’s possible for me to see the very things that block you from being the person you want to be. It’s about getting stuck in old patterns that stubbornly hang on to you…or you to them. When you turn the Taurus around to stop possessing and start to own your own self, then you begin to value who you are and appreciate the qualities that you have. Many people are blind to these basic and simple truths. It’s as though you want what you want regardless of whether it’s good for you or benefits you in any way. You’re used to these things or have been persuaded that you should enjoy them by corporations who only want your money all the time. They own large companies that produce death in the form of cigarettes and alcohol. Then there are the killers of the ecology and the economy, gas and oil. Lets not forget the chemical and drug companies that promise relief with a whole bunch of side effects for which you need more drugs. Back in the 80’s in the movie Wall Street, Michael Douglas’s character Gecko, used the saying, Greed is good. Well, in retrospect, that hasn’t proven to be the case. It is, however, the prime indicator of a selfish person. You won’t find that here. We’re giving away free readings for the next half-hour. After that, you have to pay when you call for a personal and private consultation. It’s worth it when you consider how tedious and expensive therapy is. And you get a tape of the session that will help to remind you of who you are and what you need to experience in this lifetime.

This show was written in Washington DC and broadcast from outside of Philadelphia. One of the more interesting cities in the world, DC is the place to spot dignitaries of all sorts. We went out to dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant and as we came out, we were asked to move along by the secret service as they hustled Hillary Clinton into Cities Restaurant. As DC is the hub of international relations, there are lots of people from all over the country and the world. Lobbyists, politicians, tourists and locals mingling about, going on tours with groups or families, clogging hallways, walkways and streets all over creation. Everywhere there is an air of unsettled tension in the air, with the Palestinian situation erupting into what will soon be a full-scale war. It’s been an interesting week as so much time has past since I spent any time back here. Seeing Philadelphia as a tourist is actually fun. You see historic things of all sorts that you might remember from your youth and knowing you haven’t forgotten is good. Adding to the new memory is educating my son about his roots from a personal perspective. The city has changed in 32 years since I left but it maintains its status of the birthplace of our nation…the cradle of liberty and the foundation of freedom. There will be whatever there will be in the world of man but this is also a nation and a world where spirituality has a high priority. This country was founded on the ground of religious freedom of choice. We have the right to worship in whatever way we see fit…as long it doesn’t involve human sacrifice. I always thought that sacrificing virgins was a waste of very good future mothers…or whatever they want to do. As we begin this show, the Moon is rising in Leo and the Sun has just entered Taurus. We still have that lineup of planets setting after the Sun that will make a nice sight at sunset. And Uranus is approaching the end of its forward motion for this year in a few weeks, so if you want to make some enlightened choices and decisions, this is the time to do it. Since Uranus rules astrology, this is a perfect time to get a reading to become enlightened about your future. As you become more individually aware of your particular uniqueness and purpose, you judge less and concentrate more on what you have to do, worrying less about other people. With this Taurus energy, we use our senses more, attune to natural phenomena and enjoy romantic pleasures more keenly. But with Venus, the ruler of Taurus and Libra, in a square to Uranus, this is not a week for intimacy or commitment. Breakups, divorces, wackos and weirdoes are the main course at this week’s festive gatherings. Just looking at people on the National or Independence Mall, you can see all the strange aliens who inhabit this planet…even some who don’t. Taurus is the sign that rules sugar and red meat, things that are not really good for the human system, but it’s because Taurus is the habitual sign of the zodiac that it’s hard to quit using that junk. Getting stuck in a rut is nothing more than being resistant to change. Moderation is hard to achieve when you want more and more. There are some things about this sign that make it hard to experience a spiritual consciousness...ownership, possession, addiction and habit, as well as obsession for money. We want things so we can have them but you can’t take them with you when you shuffle off the mortal coil…when you die, cease to be and expire, there is a whole new realm to be explored. Taurus is opposite Scorpio, the sign of death and reincarnation, two changes the bull hates. Now, I’m not saying Taurus people don’t believe in past lives, since my cousin, a bull herself, has a strong belief in the subject despite her Cancer husband’s naysaying. The truth is, life is eternal in the spirit as Jesus taught when he was here. But how many people understand the exact message? Scientific fact has proven that when a body dies, it loses a few ounces that are otherwise unable to be unaccounted for. It isn’t an accurate measure of the spirit’s weight in your life but it does pose an interesting question: How does our spirit energy propel us through this life if we are subjected to the influence of other people all the time? Well, since this is a planet of experience in the physical realm, it may be that we are impelled to connect with the very people we’ve had issues with in previous lives. As we broaden our consciousness and expand our experience, we realize that the people we leave behind have their own karma and we can’t help them or make them change. We have to live and let live or die trying. It comes down to handling your own challenges. If you are able to grow and evolve as an individual, then you can go on and elevate your cosmic awareness. As Mars approaches Saturn, it suggests that action has to be responsible and when you use your energy wisely, you can accomplish much. By the same token, if you drive yourself to an early grave with stress, anger, and conflict, you’ve only yourself to blame and you’ll be back here trying to do these same lessons over again faster than you can say Jimminy Glick…or cricket. I don’t think it’s quite cricket the way the Palestinians play at war. This hit and run with suicide bombings is absolutely disgusting because it targets innocent people. Actually, no one is totally innocent or they wouldn’t be living in a war zone. If they were drawn back there life after life to the same volatile area, they must have something to do with this ancient hatred. Nobody’s perfect and no one is totally without sin. Do you wish to cast the first stone? We have to learn tolerance and practice peace. It’s the only way to survive. Today is Hitler’s birthday and the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing and Columbine massacre. Tragic events sometimes make humanity aware of the potential for healing. Monday is Earth Day and we want to celebrate the beauty of this planet, to preserve it and protect it for the future. As the saying goes, we did not just inherit this world from our parents but are also saving it for our children. Maybe we can heal the Earth and our personal relationships. It is certainly worth the effort. We have to be good to ourselves and each other for that to happen, and I know you can do it. How many more lifetimes do you want to come back?

Today I go back to my city of birth and see family members whom I haven’t seen in a few years. When you go back home, you can expect to be treated like you are still the kid who left when you were young. They treat you like you never grew up and had your own experiences. Family is always there…unless they die, as has happened to half of my family. So, with the Sun is Aries today and the rest of the personal planets in Taurus, this show is all about being able to take care of yourself and get what you need by standing up on your own two feet, if you have them. I want is a Taurus phrase and it’s time you considered what you really want out of life. Not just on the material plane but in the spiritual life we are all evolving into. I was aware early on that I didn’t want to be like my parents. Often you chose parents to be exactly what you need to become the person you need to be. It doesn’t matter if they are divorced or dead, if you had to learn about the forced separation and isolation from them is this lifetime. Sometimes you have to break away, other times you need the security. I see it all as karmic cycles and relationships. You have things to work out with some of the people in your clan and there is a certain comfort level but in the long run, you have to define yourself as unique and apart from the group. Some people can exist their whole lives in the same place and with the same familiar faces around…Cancer and Taurus come to mind, maybe Capricorn, if they are in line for power or authority. Being a Pisces, I go with the flow and move along when I sense the time is right or a better situation comes along. If things change, I find a way of adapting to the new situation. Adapt or die, I say. Trying to hold on to old ways just to preserve the traditions without questioning their validity or relevance to this period is living in ancient history. Don’t accept things the way they are just because they’ve always been that way unless they are totally workable and sustainable within the eco-system in which you live. People have to live within the environment that nature allows. If they exceed the sustainable land resources, the overflow of people has to migrate or relocate. Nomadic people are everywhere because their lands couldn’t sustain them. Now, I’m not referring to the Irish, who, when the potato famine happened, left for America. They were a one crop country and got lazy, failing to grow varied crops. Of course, the restrictive Catholic controls and the resulting alcoholism reek mightily of a Pisces country gone terrible wrong. And here they are, still fighting amongst themselves. A different but similar scenario is playing out most disruptively in Israel as bombs are exploding people as much as property and it’s horrific. I looked up Ariel Sharon and he’s a Pisces, the sign of the Jews. Arafat is exactly opposite in Virgo and his Neptune is exactly op. Sharon’s Mercury, so the element of deception on Yasir’s part causes Sharon not to listen to him, with S. having Saturn square A’s Mercury. So, they won’t sit down and talk this out and it’s going to end badly in a bloody mess. And with Pakistan and India…boys, boys, Kashmir should be left to the sweater makers! Can’t we all get along a lot better? Why does everyone want what other people have? Because advertisers tell you what to want and what you should buy and I can’t say anything about that except that there is a whole lot of junk you don’t need that you end up buying because you’re programmed into thinking you have to buy it. There are ways to get around that, like the tomatoes growing in my garden are there because I grow better tomatoes than you can buy in a store. Grow your own. That should be the theme of the new age. We all could stand to be a lot more self-sufficient and less dependent on others. This is what gets us into trouble…dependency on foreign oil is only the tip of the iceberg. We grow enough grain to feed the entire world and it isn’t enough to feed the poor in our own country. Why? Because most of it becomes feed for cattle and the chain of death gets more grizzly from there. Cattle ranches in Brazil are the reason we’re losing so much rain forest down there. They have lost sight of the global eco-system and their own, for that matter. By destroying habitats for plants and creatures that could cure us, we do not further diversify our planet, thus doom it to extinction eventually. Well, think about it. If the human species consumes all the natural resources, how then will we survive? You can make a difference by choosing to evolve in a conscious manner. Work to understand your destiny with astrology and you will help us all. When you take an active role in your own evolution, you stimulate the evolutionary urge in others. It becomes an upward spiral of light. So many of you don’t recognize all the things that lower your vibrational rate. Everything you ingest acts upon your psyche as well as your body. Certain herbs are natural and are excellent tonics for body and mind. Other herbs are toxic or addictive and some have a narcotic effect. Some may be temporary while others damage you forever. Certain substances are more permanent that others. Did you know hard liquor is one of the worst things to indulge in. It’s known to destroy brain cells. But that’s fine since we only use less than 10%, right? Well, you can use them if you know where to look and certain plants and herbs open you up to them. But plants grow wild and free. How can anyone profit on that? And alcohol is distilled in a complicated process and is under federal regulations, just like tobacco. And these things are taxed heavily. Very addictive stuff, being pushed onto the American public so that the producers of this stuff gets richer than anyone has the right to be. Then they hire the most sleazy but high-powered lawyers and fights the government for years to tie up cases forever until the other side gives up for lack of money. Your tax dollars at work, my friends. Think about it. And then there’s gasoline, but I won’t even start on that one. It’s too big a subject for this show. Hell, it would make an unbelievable but true movie. “Oil be seeing you.” The sequel is “The Day the Wells Ran Dry” or was that Mad Max? We could have solar-powered cars, but where’s the profit there? Where’s the dependency? Don’t be a pawn to a slow-talking Texan who’s selling your future out to support his rich buddies. Think for yourself and see the truth.

What is going on in this crazy world in this new millennium? Same old conflicts, different century. The Jews are not to blame for the problems in Israel, nor are the Palestinians. Jerusalem is the center of power for the whole Middle East. Three religions and three words sum up the problem: Racism, Intolerance and Prejudice. They are the seeds of war. Almost a thousand years ago, a great Crusade was undertaken to pry the Holy Land away from the Muslims…the Saracens. Two thousand years ago, it was the Romans who took over the Mediterranean world. Before that it was Assyrians and Babylonians. There has always been conflict in that region and nothing we say or do will matter in the long run until they remember that they are all descended from a common ancestor, Abraham. The Jews, the Muslims and the Christians would not exist without the two sons of the Patriarch, Abraham. But it’s like sibling quarrels over real estate and heirlooms. Stop wanting the materials things since we are not of this earth, but of spirit. We have more to do and see than get stuck about a small patch of property in a desert beachfront community. There are bigger things to concern yourself with, like learning what God’s Laws really are: Love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Let go of hate. We are all God’s children. Daylight Savings Time begins tomorrow. Some of you may remember that it began back during WW1, but most of you aren’t that old. Just like the income taxes, it was supposed to be a temporary thing. Well, four score and four years ago, our fathers brought forth a little more early morning light so they could get more work done. Either that or they were suffering from Seasonal Affected Disorder. Anyway, their fathers had freed the slaves and the grandfathers of that generation had brought forth on this continent a New Nation. Conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all people are created equal…that this nation would be a safe haven from persecution and political and religious injustice. This is the best country in the world as far as the Aquarian concept of freedom is concerned. It is a place where we should all be able to live our lives without some bigot saying how much better they are than you because they were born here. If you are an American, act like you understand the tenets of our place in the world. We are all nations, all races and all religions in this country. None are condemned and none are denied if they don’t violate individual’s rights or cause harm. It doesn’t matter where you are from if you love freedom…this is the place. If you want to hate Jews or Catholics or Muslims, then you should go back to whatever hole you crawled out of and live in a past century. Or start living in the 21st century. We have to learn to tolerate each other, especially in times of war. You know, I think GWB’s approval rating is going to go way down if a full scale hot war breaks out in the middle east and there’s nothing he can do to stop it. Hell, in many ways, he and his daddy caused it. The unfinished business with Saddam Hussein is hanging over us and GWB wanted to go in and take him out but Israel is a priority now. It’s all the fault of the Jews, they say. Why shouldn’t Israel have the right to defend and protect itself when under attack from terrorists? What kind of hypocrite would we be, declaring war on all terrorists and not go in and help Israel? I got Arafat’s birthdate and he’s born in Cairo. He’s the first day of Virgo with a Neptune conjunction to his Sun and Moon in Aries square to his Venus/Pluto conjunction, a reminder of the Scorpio South Node that shows so much past violence. Well, Saturn is bearing down on his Jupiter and will hit this month. The truth will come out under pressure. We’ll find out who’s in league with him eventually. The fact is that there are a lot of people in the world have hate and fear. I am not one of them as I hate intolerance. I am a man of spirit and it is a path of wisdom and enlightenment, so violence is out. If you wonder what to do in a particular crisis situation, just think what would a being of truth say or do. One who listens to truth sees the big picture and understands that his or her place in this universe is unique, not unimportant and has potential to do a lot of good in life. It is the soul of truth who accepts into their reality the big picture awareness that life is a journey and an adventure which is intended to teach you many valuable lessons. Truth expands and it is the truth that will set you free, so I will explain that Jupiter is rising over the Eastern horizon here right now. The understanding and compassion you need to have for the diversity of humanity is expressed neatly in the Moon conjunction to Neptune in Aquarius. Mars is square to Uranus so a little impromptu war may have already erupted where neighbors can’t be friends. The Sun is conjoining Mercury today so people are talking and nobody’s listening. I hope you are. Finally, in what may be the great finality for many, the transit South Node and Pluto are nearing each other, an event that shows an international financial crisis. One thing is that Middle Eastern oil is used by Japan and they own the tech market which could spiral into a global recession. We’re all affected and touched by global events that we need to learn to talk the same language…the tongue of love. Ooh, that’s not quite it. How about…the language of spirit? It’s when you look into someone’s eyes and see a beautiful being of light and you feel beautiful basking in that glow. We need to see the sliver or spark of God in everyone. Even animals have that spark, or at least the more civilized of them do. I know I have a psychic rapport with my dog and I see the God within him, too. To live on Earth, you need to evolve because it’s the only way off. If you think of it as a paradise, why isn’t it more like a vacation? It’s because we all have things to work out on this planet now! No more procrastination, have your chart read soon and get back to your own true power. Spring forward and prepare for the New Moon. You need to know how to survive life.
